You might be wondering what this thread is about, so I should probably explain first. In early 2022, Sega published the first episode for "TailsTube" a Sonic Youtube series hosted by Tails that went over the lore of the franchise and such. The video itself is pretty interesting by itself, but perhaps even more interesting is what appears when a shot of humans from Sonic Unleashed appears in the background. Because one of the humans isn't actually from Sonic Unleashed, or any Sonic game for that matter. She's a new character:

This was (and still is) kind of a big deal. The last time a new human was introduced to the Sonic game canon was 2009. So, when people found the hidden character, they assumed she was going to appear in Frontiers. But the game launched, and she wasn't in there. I heard about an upcoming Sonic mobile game, and thought she might appear there, but Sonic Dream Team was announced and released with no sign of her.
Unfortunately, this human currently hasn't appeared anywhere else. The only news we've ever gotten about who she is and what she's for comes from Ian Flynn. He stated "patience, she's in for the long run". Whatever that means.
The reason I'm bringing this up now is that in a few short hours, we'll probably be seeing a trailer for a Sonic Generations remaster, including a new story. I'm hoping that we'll finally learn the secret of this mysterious human Sega teased in 2022.

Maybe a new rendition of Maria? Who knows, I wasn't even aware of this character.
