I'm getting pumped and full of anxiety waiting for new Sonic stuff! It's a long wait for the movie sequel AND this show. Plus we haven't had any game announcements yet this year. -

I hadn't heard about this previously, but I'm definitely curious. I can't say I'm expecting much at this stage, I've learned to take every announcement of recent Sonic with a grain (or sometimes a bolder) of salt, but that being said, I know they will sometimes pull out surprise hits from the various projects that are attempted. In a way I'd even say Sonic X played to that formula years ago. The 90's Sonic cartoons were pretty good, until Sonic Underground came about and was a bit of an odd duck, leaving the fan base unsure if they would have it in them to improve upon the formula at all, but Sonic X knocked it out of the park in most cases (Save for a bit too much childish camp sometimes). So perhaps this show will knock it out of the park, and maybe be as good as the Sonic Movie wound up turning out! That would be.... *ahem*... WAY PAST COOL! -

So after the Sonic Central Event. We learned nothing except something about the "Shatterverse." I guess this implies that the universes have broken up or shattered in some way. -

Maybe that will play into the plot from Mania/Forces or maybe from Generations? They seem to like to play with like a sort of messy timeline universe thing, where reality can be easily altered and changed and probably would cause some shattering if done too much. -

Kinda disappointed that there was no sign of any of the other series Wildbrain has in the concept art. But hey, at least Eggman Nega (I think that's him) is getting some more attention. -

The name "Sonic Prime" feels like a call back to what Sonic was called in the Archie Sonic comics, which referred to Sonic's world as "Mobius Prime."
I'll be interested in the plot of this series, especially if the same company responsible for the old school cartoons is behind it. It'll be nice if there's a call back to some old characters, like the Freedom Fighters, Sonic's siblings Sonia and Manic, or some of the AoSTH crowd like Scratch and Grounder.
We shall see. Even if it isn't, I'm still looking forward to how the series unfolds. -

Agreed with Auty here. I might be one of the few people who actually enjoyed the Boom series, but that said I think the games ruined what Boom could have been.
I could see there being several different Eggmans/Robotniks, some new, some old...and different interpretations of mainstream characters.
But what I HOPE to see are...
Blaze the cat...I think that's a given.
She's already from another dimension, so I think just her existence should fit. (I was also hoping she'd appear at some point in Boom and it never happened...had the series continued though perhaps we would have seen everyone's favorite fire cat)
Some call backs to older cartoons like SatAM, AoSTH, Underground, and perhaps Sonic X and Sonic Boom. Perhaps get some closure finally on the endings to some of those series. (I always kinda wanted to see Knuckles appear in SatAM and AoSTH but you know)
Perhaps references to some of the other games canon. Technically, wouldn't Sonic and the Black Knight count as an AU? All the Sonic characters existed as Arthurian Knights, which was a cool concept (though I haven't played it myself...it just sounds cool to me.)
I think having a reference to the games and the phantom ruby would be a good idea...maybe the phantom ruby contributed to the shattered universe...
What we probably won't need is brand new characters....buuuuuut at the same time if they're good characters and add something unique to the plot...and are actually enjoyable...I wouldn't mind them too much. (I'll never say no to more cats though)
