How's everyone been? I haven't checked on the forums in a while. Just getting over being really sick for a long time. Anyone else surprised they haven't dropped a trailer for the new Sonic movie yet? -

Blargh, being sick sucks... my sympathies on that.
Honestly, I haven't been holding my breath on any news on Sonic movie 3. Don't get me wrong, I like the movies, I'm just not as passionate about them as I am with other parts of the Sonic franchise, I very much see them as their own thing.
Not like I'm not jumping out of my chair when a trailer does drop though. Shadow is Shadow. And I'd be lying if I said I wasn't curious on how they'll adapt his story much like everyone else.
As for how I've been doing. I've just been back full-throttle in my Sonic ventures after taking a break from the hedgehog for a little while. Just this week I thought to go to the mall to see if they've stocked up on Jakks Sonic figure so my Cream doesn't look so lonely up in her shelf. Good news is, they did stock up on a Sonic figure! Bad news, it was only the one and it was the very same Cream I had. Damn.
Though I wasn't even gonna buy anything anyways, I was just looking. Lucky for me, they do have a handful of Sonic Prime 2-inch figures as well, so at the very least I can nab one of those when I go back sometime next week if they still only have the Cream figure in stock.
Though what's a little frustrating, I've been talking to a long-time friend of mine who's been getting into Sonic recently about what I just said, and they told me they also got some Jakks figures around where they live. And way more, in fact! Said they saw a Classic Eggman and Mecha Sonic, among some others. And even plushies, loads of 'em! Though unfortunately they didn't have the funds to get any of them goodies.
Dare I say I'm jealous, how can't I be! But oh well, I'm sure luck will be on my side eventually, my collection is still in it's baby phases. This little Eggman toy I got from Burger King on that very same mall trip will have to keep Cream company for now.

I'm with you on the Jakks figures. So I started watching Sonic Prime a couple weeks ago finally, and now I kind of want a Thorn Rose figure. I don't know why, just really like her design and think she's a cool character. Haha -

Still here, and doing fine, I suppose. Although I haven't found a lot to talk about as of recent.
Supposedly, the trailer will be releasing on August 9th, so at least I have that to look forward to. But in a weird way, I'm also very concerned about it. Earlier this year a storyboard for a scene in the third movie was leaked online, and I can confirm it's almost certainly legitimate, because it leaked alongside a storyboard for the Knuckles show, which matches up with what eventually got released. Paramount also copyright claimed it.
I'm not going to say what was in the leak (unless you want to ask about it in a PM), but it did make me a bit uneasy, especially with how the Knuckles series ended up. Shadow's backstory in the games is already plenty complicated, especially if you factor in the Black Arms stuff from Shadow 05, so the possibility of Paramount taking it in an entirely different direction that only complicates it further doesn't sit right with me. Hoping the trailer will put my thoughts at ease. -

Hey, been good here. Just dealing with sickness, stomach bug is going around here like crazy and so is covid. We're done with it but now it's spreading around extended family and friends.
Upgrading to Mint 22 as I type.

i've been a little preoccupied myself, so i haven't been quite as active on the forums. i've still got sonic on the mind as much as ever, though.
it is a bit strange that its taking so long for them to drop the trailer, but i admittedly haven't been super excited for the sonic 3 trailer since the disappointment that was the knuckles show. i'm not big on the movie canon, i have beef with some of the creative choices made in those movies & also paramount as a whole, so really i just want to see the trailer because im curious how they're going to adapt shadow. i think there's just as much of a chance for him to be properly adapated in a satisfying way as there is for him to be completely butchered, and until the trailer comes out there isn't a whole lot to speculate on either way, so i'm staying very cautiously optimistic.
and the lack of nearby sonic merch is something i can relate to as well. i always keep my eye out for sonic stuff when i go shopping, and there's been a complete absence of any good stuff in the stores around me. particularly plushies. i love plushies but there just... hasnt been any available that i like enough to spend my money on. and there's hardly ever any shadow stuff, either. only classic sonic or sonic prime things. and during his year, no less!
speaking of which, i wonder of they're gonna end up making a shadow build-a-bear later this year when it gets closer to sonic 3's release date, considering that they made character plushies for the last two movies. i've got a soft spot for BABs, so i really hope they do, even if he'll probably be a little wonky. from what i've seen the old ones look a little... hit or miss.
