  For me this whole thing is bowl of poo, the Sonic model is horrific and the trailer is half assed

  There has been a response to the backlash and there will be changes to the movie ... I do hope it gets delayed if that's the case, I'd rather have the movie as it is than make real people suffer from health problems from an nearly impossible time frame

  Yes as there is nothing good about crunch.
  Viacom will loose nothing by waiting, they push it to a spring release in 2020 it will be fine

  I'm wondering how hard it would be to redo the animations. Obviously the scenes are shot and can't be redone but if all that's left is the animation and it still isn't finished then maybe it won't be that much more work? More, yes, but isn't animation usually the last part that's done in films like these? I don't know.

  We'll only probably know the truth once the movie is out and someone talks about the events that are happening now. I would love to be a fly on the wall at SEGA and at this studio right now, hearing them scramble to make plans to fix it. Poor animators are going to get the brunt of this... all leave canceled, double shifts, etc.. like what happened once at Pixar..
  
  One thing I can take away from this...
  I am really happy and proud of all of us who spoke up and pushed back. I also realise today that this Sonic family is larger than I imagined, and people really *do* care about our hero Sonic. I was under the impression that the Sonic fandom was busy fading slowly but I was wrong.

  Rumors are that Sega requested changes to the design months ago but Paramount didn't budge. That doesn't instill confidence in them being competent. :lol:

  Sonic's design is trash, it's so ugly and when he opened his mouth and his teeth showed, AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAH!!!
  
  On the other hand the rest of the movie looks ok, bland but ok... Jim looks too normal to be Robotnik but it's an origin story of how he got all messed up and since jim is fun to watch with his humor I'm fine with it and I like the way he looks at the end of the trailer.
  
  If it does well at the box office the end of the trailer makes it look like the sequel will be good since it will take place on sonic's world.

  While the Sonic design is pretty ugly, it's still not the worst thing in the world and I feel like over time people would have gotten used to it - if you're seriously saying you can't do that you're lying to yourself - regardless, they're changing it slightly now, so I guess the design is a moot point. Ben Schwartz is a decent choice for the role. His voice is a little monotone in parts but I feel like overall, with the style of the movie, it'll work out in the end.
  
  Jim Carrey as Eggman is probably my least favourite thing about the trailer. Apparently nobody else across the internet seems to share this view, but I didn't find his scene funny at all and if anything, it'll make this movie into more of a joke than people have already made it. I hope I'll warm up to him though; everybody else seems to like him.
  
  That said, while I didn't find that particularly amusing, the rest of the trailer got a few good chuckles out of me, and not for the wrong reasons. Sonic's line about his stepcount or whatever it was made me laugh and, call me immature, but I actually enjoyed the part about the child in the luggage quite a bit - it was probably the funniest thing in the trailer.
  
  So far I'm still looking forward to this movie and personally, I think all these opinions that it's going to be "a trainwreck" are vastly exaggerated. I'm not saying it'll be as good as Detective Pikachu, but it'll at least be a fun hour and a half.
  
  Even still, if you don't like it already, nothing's forcing you to go watch it.

  I laughed at the child part too. But I have a twisted sense of humor and his face as if nothing was wrong with that statement.
