  The Japanese company recently reaffirmed this during its 79th Shareholders meeting, when president Shuntaro Furukawa was reminded about "other platforms" applying restrictions independently of CERO (Japan's rating organisation). This was his response on behalf of Nintendo

  This is still surprising to me, With Nintendo being viewed as the more family friendly console while Sony having a more mature audience you'd think the opposite would be true.
  Still, Good on you Nintendo, I never welcome censorship in games (Espically to the bizzare lenghts Sony is going to) That choice of content should also belong to the player.

  That’s good, leave it up to people to decide. Although, to my knowledge, the things Sony has censored is just underage girls or girls with the appearance of being underage. We all know those games where the character is 18 but they look 14.
