Seg looked at Aaron and nodded.
Aaron pulled out a bag out of hammerspace, and opened it.
Inside it were several objects: a stone, a battery, an unused flare, an empty pistol and a spray can.
Seg thought for a moment, and picked up the stone. The gems in his gloves lit up, and all of a sudden Seg transformed.
His fur went from blue to gray, almost exuding a stone-like appearance, both in bodily and in facial features.

"Huh." The man grunted as he saw Seg change. "Honestly figured you might just turn the field off at the controls down the hall. This'd probably work too, and quicker," he said with a nod. "Heard about elementalists attuning their own bodies like that. First time I've seen it up close, though." -

Seg looked at the captive and Fang. He nodded.
"Yeah, while he's in this form he can't talk, nya" Aaron said. "But if he could, he would probably describe this thing he has called emulation, nya. Those gloves make it happen whenever he touches an object that has some kind of property, like fire, stone, water, you nyame it, nya."
Seg stomped over to where the captive was still held in place. He raised a heavy-looking fist and punched the shackle, rattling the manacle until it cracked and came loose.
Seg closed his eyes and in a white light, turned back to his regular blue hedgehog self.
"Aaron, Give me the b-battery now. I n-need to overload the console."
"Coming up, nya!" Aaron said, tossing Seg the battery. This time, another change happened.
His blue fur turned to bright yellow, he was in a yellow jacket and shorts, sparks shooting all around him.

The captive shook his head at Seg. "Don't wear yourself down on my account. With both hands free I can crack the mechanisms holding my feet," he explained, bending over and twisting the shackles on his ankles. "Without this rig sucking out my power from four directions at once, I can take care of the rest." As he fiddled with the machinery, first one shackle, then the other popped open, and the man stretched himself out. "The fat guy's field was only doing half the job, and that's with Frost's specs," he continued, stepping out into the corridor. "The name's Taylor. Parachronic jumper and part-time sorcerer. What's that mean? Long story, maybe some other time." -

Seg reverted back to his regular form. "A-at least I have those abilities s-stored in my gloves."
Aaron put the bag back into hammerspace. "Ok, so maybe there's clues on how to find the fat guy around here! Maybe we split up and search, nya?" -
