  Oh goodness I'll have to bookmark that video for a future viewing when I'm unwinding before bed (That's when I do my best viewing!)
  But I only vaguely recall the era of Dreamcast's launch. I was a fairly young little lad at the time, but I remember it was being massively hyped in game shops and in the gaming magazines at the time. I think I still have one that was pitting the upcoming Dreamcast against the already successful Playstation and Nintendo 64 consoles, and using the mascots to represent their respective consoles. It was a fun little issue! And it always had me itching to acquire the new 3D Sonic Games! I grew up with the Megadrive/Genesis primarily, so I really wanted the Dreamcast. Sadly, we had just gotten the Playstation a year prior, and being of a lower income household, we couldn't afford the Dreamcast. I fully missed out on all it had to offer, and have had to go back through ports and through buddies who had it to get to experience any of it at all. Sad day.

  I really wanted one when I first heard of it. I think I was in 5th grade when magazines started talking about it and the graphics just blew everything away. I was so impressed with the graphics and the fact that the memory cards had a screen on them. I played it a lot at stores on their kiosks. Unfortunately I couldn't afford multiple consoles and by the time it launched PS2 was being really hyped. I eventually got one in 2003 after it was discontinued for $20 at gamestop and $6 games. It was so cheap I HAD to get it for Sonic Adventure 1/2.
  
  It died too early and out of all of the consoles that released that gen PS2/GC/Xbox/DC I think it was 2nd best despite only having two full years of production. If it had lasted 5 years or more I may have even ranked it above PS2.

  Looking back, I think the Dreamcast was a BEAST of a machine! But I know that the bomb of a console the Saturn ended up really hurt Sega too heavily and hindered the Dreamcast's performance, despite what it was capable of. And honestly, the PS2 being such an amazing console was really the nail in the coffin. When the PS2 came out, there was no competition for what it could do. I know everyone has favorites and opinions but just looking at stats, PS2 totally crushed it that round.
  
  I know my Uncle who really loves gaming was hyped for Dreamcast and did get one on launch. Though, he also said he had a tendency to root for the underdog throughout the 90's, and often that was Sega. So he was a hard Sega fanboy because of that fact. He holds no regrets though, as Sega was always a fun company even at their worst points!
