What I do in one forum I manage is to create a private forum where I post ideas or pending work (tasks). A idea or project per thread, and I use replies to input suggestions or considerations for later while keeping the OP for the progress.
It is unrealistic to do everything at once and less to do everything perfect at first. So just find a way to coordinate and log your tasks and you will feel less stressed over time ! -

I have added the Smash winner award. I've also added the achievements to its category and made the collector's category. I only have two for the Sonic collector's category but I was thinking of making it go more specific than merch. Have one for comics, movies, etc. I have it set up so you can rank up as a collector with the ranks from my achievements in that(if you collect certain amounts of awards these collector levels will automatically be given).

Trying to think of ideas for shop items/awards. If there's a way we can make it to where they actually matter more. Like maybe owning the invincibility gives you certain perks on the forum(this would have to be manually edited per user of course, no way to automate it) or maybe have character cards with stats and you can buy upgrades and we can make a card battle area? -

I don't know how much this would conflict w/ the code for the username ranks or be too cluttered but an idea for the elemental shields could go around the username like so (image below) almost like the shield is equipped rather than the item box itself? though this would just be a simple flair and have no impact on the forum
ofc equipping character cards could act similar where there's a small character headshot displayed rather than the card itself but it would be interesting to see smth similar to battle cards or "virtual stats" in a way for users to interact with, would definitely give more incentive for other ppl to come back to the site even if they don't participate in discussion
quick add-on edit: I know these ones would conflict with some themes (studiopolis uses square icons for threads, but circle icons elsewhere, so I'm using the default theme to demo this one) but borders could also be an idea
I think just username flairs even if it's just colours would be interesting in general, ofc it would cause some conflicts w/ rank but we have the custom fonts already and I think getting to use those for usernames would be cool -

This is definitely possible and we had a plugin just like this(although at the time it was only for colors but images can definitely be done). You paid points and chose how to style your username based on preset styles to choose from.
Unfortunately the code was bad and had security issues. It also screwed up things and made threads disappear on your end. I could try to find another plugin that works though. -

Could we have items to buy that if we own them we get certain perks. Like we buy an item and in a thread we can request a custom rank? -
