If I remember correctly, it's 2006 cause that's the year the forum was created.

Looking at your rank, you should be able to hide it. You gotta uncheck the box that says "Show that you edited this post" and there you! Its pretty easy to see. Its right above the Edit Post button.

Just to give you a little heads up, hidden ranks aren't really anything. I've already been through them. THIS USER RANK TOPIC HASN'T BEEN UPDATED IN A WHILE FROM WHAT I CAN SEE. I'M PROBABLY GOING TO INFORM METALLIX OR THE OTHER ADMINS ABOUT THIS. I actually kind of think that the hidden ranks don't exist anymore. I think they USED to be a rank with a completely different font and font color. I remember seeing screenshots with this really strange font and font color for usernames.

And the 'strange font and colors' you saw were most likely the old rank colors from a year and a half ago - Red used to be blue and so on. Staff and members with over 2500 posts would also get this really fancy font (which some people didn't have on their computers and thus they couldn't see them - which was part of the reason they were eventually removed.) I remember clearly the drama that instigated when things were changed - especially considering it started when ALL the colors were removed and we went to just plain default text for every member for a few hours.
