The seventh Chaos Emerald hurt the franchise.

 The majority of the Sonic games revolved around turning Super and defeating the final boss. Originally, there were six Chaos Emeralds.

Also, the spin dash also hurt the series.

 This is giving me a headache.

First, if six were only added, it would be extremely simple to get all of them, because the hardest (7th emerald) won't be there. It could be possible that Sonic Team could edit Super sonic so its only six emeralds, but then again, the 7th isn't there, so players could instantly zip past all of the levels.

Second, if spin dash wasn't invented, then almost all of the Sonic 2 puzzles are unbeatable, and these puzzles require spinning and speed. :\

This guys got a point, you know.
Light. The one everyone seems to like. The one people seem to know. But what they don't know, is that if you have light, you have to have darkness. People who fight for light often have a dark past, a dark secret, or like me, dark POWERS. My name is Yin hasimoto, and i am someone who fights for light, and to top that off, has light powers. But like nearly everyone else who fights for light, i have a dark secret, a dark past, and he**, even dark powers. but people like me realize that without darkness, we wouldn't have light. And something else people don't realize, is that light is STRONGER with darkness. So why do people hate darkness so much? Because they think all darkness is bad. It's not. If you are one of the people that realize darkness is not bad, then great.
