Exactly what it says on the tin people. Of all the colorful characters in the series, which one is your personal favorite? For me, it would have to be Sonic himself. Anyone else? ;)

"I didn't use the whole thing ...."
I've personally always been a fan of Miles 'Tails' Prower.
Guess I can relate to him a lot more being a computer geek who would rather use brains over brute force.
Then again I also have a bit of a soft spot for Blaze, Guess I just got a thing for girls with fire . . .

Tails is awesome, 'nuff said. For me, I think his best portrayal was in Sonic Adventure 1. I loved how he realized he couldn't depend on Sonic forever and needed to be his own person.

Angel Island Act 2
Sonic, without a doubt. Ever since I was a kid and first learned of Sonic, I've always considered him to be my personal hero. Sonic has been someone who I can look up to, someone I can model myself after. Any time I would be in a tough situation, I would always ask myself what Sonic would do. I'm unsure completely, but it's something about his personality that I just can't get over. Even though in recent games, his voice and personality have been a little "off" per say, but I know the real Sonic deep down. No matter how old I get, I think Sonic will still be my hero 30 years from now, he'll always be in my heart. :)

Mine is Shadow. I only liked his personality in Sonic Adventure 2, was very put out when they ruined his perfect ending by bringing him back to life, but I think he was a 'man on a mission' type and I appreciate that. He knew what he wanted to do, whether it was right or wrong, and set out to do it. He didn't let anyone chance his mind. It was all about Maria. I think his story was extremely touching to me as a child, who had a really hard time in life, and he was so stable and firm that I couldn't help but find him to be the best. He kinda taught me that if nothing is worth dying for then there is no reason to live.

Derp ALL the posts!
Honsestly, Dark sonic. There's something about our beloved hero turning dark and murderous that i like. Plus, he looks really cool.
Light. The one everyone seems to like. The one people seem to know. But what they don't know, is that if you have light, you have to have darkness. People who fight for light often have a dark past, a dark secret, or like me, dark POWERS. My name is Yin hasimoto, and i am someone who fights for light, and to top that off, has light powers. But like nearly everyone else who fights for light, i have a dark secret, a dark past, and he**, even dark powers. but people like me realize that without darkness, we wouldn't have light. And something else people don't realize, is that light is STRONGER with darkness. So why do people hate darkness so much? Because they think all darkness is bad. It's not. If you are one of the people that realize darkness is not bad, then great.

If there's one portrayal of Sonic I love the best, it has to be his characterization in Sonic and the Black Knight. His major traits are there and played very well - his short-temper is showcased in his interaction with Caliburn towards the beginning and then you have his kindness in rescuing the kid's parents and Percival. And the former really gives you an insight at Sonic's character, showing his willingness and determination to help out, even at the risk of failing Nimue's tests.

Sonic's relationship with Caliburn only contributes to this. The interaction and banter between them is nothing short of clever and well done. The sword starts out calling our hedgehog hero a 'knave' and being scornful of his skills and stances on certain matters and Sonic himself is none to thrilled about Caliburn either, giving snarky retaliations towards the sword's mannerisms. Neither of them liked that they were stuck together and make things worse, they both had large egos for the other to bruise.

However, after they take on Lady Nimue's challenge, their relationship starts to reconcile. Sonic's growing skills as a knight and his rescue of the child's parents and Percival help to cement Caliburn's growing respect for him and in turn the hedgehog gives him credit when credit is due after the Lady's challenge is completed..

The hedgehog marches by the beat of his own drum, as evidenced by his willingness to help that child out even if it meant failing Nimue's challenge due to a lack of time. (Yes, this is the third time I've mentioned this scene, but it's an all-around good example so...shoot me.) He also questions Gawain and Percival about if there is being more to being a knight than serving a king and even claims that his own master is simply 'the wind that blows free'. In the fight between him and the Dark Queen, Sonic, despite grievous injuries being inflicted upon him, keeps on getting up, not because of chivalry, but because of his own beliefs and convictions - he was determined not to let Merlina have her way drive Camelot into a living hell just so it could be around forever. He just needed to do what was done.

Speaking of which, the whole 'we gotta live life to the fullest' bit was gold. At first, I would never have figured Sonic to say anything like that; however thinking about it, Sonic's the kind of guy who likes to live in the moment - his theme song in both Adventure games even explicitly states that he doesn't look back. So really, that whole element was perfectly in-character.
