What do you think the worst/good sonic game is? For me, sonic chronicles was 2 syllables: BO-RING, the final boss was too easy And second, unleashed was quite good, the only part that sucked was the werehog, in fact, I hardly reached dragon road Thats all, peace!

My favorite Sonic game would probably have to be SA2B because I have put so much time into that game (especially the chao garden :P). As for least favorite, it would probably be Sonic Chronicles. At first I really loved that game, but now it just seems boring. I tried playing it again recently and I just can't get into it anymore. |

I actually really liked Sonic Chronicles. It didn't seem boring to me, especially since I've played a lot of RPG's like that, such as Final Fantasy and Persona, and I'm used to those battle systems. Plus, it had one of the coolest storylines. In that one, we finally get to see who Emerl's creators were, and that he wasn't the only Gizoid, not to mention, had some neat alien characters, like the Zoah and Voxai, and plenty more. Also, for once, Eggman actually helps more than just at the very end of the game. I admit the Last Boss was dumb and too short though, which is why it isn't my most favorite Sonic Game of all. Though the rest was great to me, but the ending wasn't the best. Maybe if the ending would've been better, it would perhaps been my most favorite Sonic game of all! I'll post this image again, for my opinions on the Last Boss of Sonic Chronicles. ![]() Edited by Shyna, Sep 23 2014, 02:12 PM.

Be sure to check me out on Deviant Art to see some of my various drawings and artworks. http://hexidextrous.deviantart.com/ Also, I would like to ask a favor from for anyone who is my friend here. If someday we meet in person in the near future, and I had recently done anything that would confirm that I had become a Brony (which as of now I am not one), such as if I had posted on a Pony-related fan-site, drawn a Pony-themed artwork, contributed to a Pony fanfic, or anything else along those lines. If I have done anything like that, I want you to punch me in the face without warning. This make sound like I'm joking, but I am absolutely serious about this. Ignore any future statements retracting this if I ever make any. Though if you do, please first confirm that it is me who is doing it, and not some Brony who is posing as me and wants to see me get punched. I do not wish to go down the path of the Bronies, and hopefully those of you reading this will help me so that it stays that way, if god forbid I ever even attempt it. Thank you. | |

The best Sonic game for me is Adventure 2 Battle. It was my first Sonic game, it basically solidified my childhood. As for the worst, it'll have to be a tie between 06 and The Secret Rings. 06 needs no explanation, and The Secret Rings had bad controls and felt horribly clunky. |

Picking a single favourite is tough, however I think Sonic Jam on the Sega Saturn ranks pretty highly. It has the Sonic 1,2,3 and Sonic & Knuckles, allows all the lock-on features, you can enable the option for spindash in Sonic 1, and it has a pretty cool Sonic World, the first full-3D Sonic environment to explore! Though a bit small, it was still a nice proof of concept of what a 3D Sonic game would look like. Also the museum and gallery features were a nice bonus. Worst Sonic game? Again, not sure, but the most frustrating in recent memory has to be Lost World. The controls felt too alien, too unrefined, compared to previous Sonic titles, and really took a lot of the enjoyment out of the game for me. Loved the look and the audio work was great though. |

Ice Cap Act 1

The best ones I've played. Well I have a hard time choosing between Sonic Battle, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle, Shadow The Hedgehog, and Sonic Generations. They were all so great and I can't choose between them. As for the worst, I'm going to have to say Sonic Colors. Yes, I hated Sonic Colors, and I'll tell you why. The story was mediocre at it's finest. Robotnik finally achieves his plans in making a Space Amusement Park, which was the stupidest idea in the first place. "Oh hey, I'm gonna build an amusement park because I'm evil that way, soon I shall have PRRRROFIT!" So Sonic and Tails thinks Robotnik is behind all of this which is pretty obvious and after that, it's nothing but poor writing. There's also something about the Wisp's Energy called the Hyper Go-on that sounds interesting but I barely remember any of it because of all the dumb dialogue that I have to sit through. The story is about as dried up as the Gobi Desert. They demonstrate the Hyper Go-on by controlling Tails mind to attack sonic, which lasts about 10 seconds. After one of it's power supplies was destroyed, that was it for the Hyper Go-on. They could've done more with it like having the system achieve full power and brainwashing Sonic's Friends in which he would have to battle them and find ways to destroy the source, that would've been more interesting. But nope, they decided to not go down the successful route because SEGA is too afraid to take chances. There's not much to talk about the DS Version besides the fact that there's a different Last Boss, Super Sonic, and more characters that are just tacked on and completely pointless. As I've said a few times, the writing in this game is pure torture. I really had a hard time sitting through the cutscenes and the dialogue. The voices are good and okay, but hearing them spew out dialogue in the game is just horrendous. The writing was done by the same people who did Happy Tree Friends, you know that show about cute little animals getting killed in violent and gory ways over and over? Well obviously they couldn't do that in the game so they really toned down the writing and came out with something that would show up in an old cheesy 1980's Super Hero Comic. There's scenes like Sonic talking to that Giant Fish-shaped ship before he battles it, I did not laugh at all when most of the time he's just grabbing the camera and saying, "Hey I'm being funny, LAUGH YOU IDIOTS I'M BEING FUNNY!!!!!" I'm just sitting there as if all of my brain cells are committing suicide one by one. This is about as entertaining as Sonic talking to a Stump. Then there's the scene where Sonic talks to Robotnik before the Last Boss battle against the Nega Wisp Armor, that scene alone was trying way to hard to be funny, especially when Robotnik is becoming a very weak villain in these recent games. I even questioned about the Egg Pawns coming back. In Sonic Unleashed he had the Egg Fighters which were more advanced and an upgrade to the Egg Pawns. And in Colors, he goes back to the frikkin Egg Pawns, and he calls himself a scientist with an IQ of 300? Commander Keen and Mortimer McMire had a more higher IQ then him, and they were frikin kids! And this is why I prefer the Archie Sonic counterpart of Eggman. In fact, every cutscene in this game tries to hard to be funny, the only one that I laughed at was when Cubot got hit by the chair, other then that, I felt dead inside watching the rest of the cutscenes. The only one that was actually good was when Sonic and Tails found the place where all of the wisps are being imprisoned and used as a power source and tortured. No overused jokes, now acting like a jerk, just proper dialogue. MORE OF THAT PLEASE! Now some people are saying that they are trying to be like Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog and how cheesy the writing was in that show, well there tends to be a difference here. AOSTH was released back in 1993, when it was common and actually worked for it's time. Sonic Colors was released in 2010, nobody does that anymore. The writing itself just feels so out dated and just makes my ears bleed, as if I'm watching a crummy teenage sitcom off of Disney Channel, or watching My Little Pony Friendship is Magic (which by the way, I hate MLP with all my heart and soul). Now I know Story isn't everything in a Sonic Game, there's still Gameplay. But even the gameplay in this game is a trainwreck. Annoying and repetitive which is the best way to describe it. The game is supposed to be, "2D and 3D mixed together" but throughout the entire game your forced to go 2D all the way and there's barely any 3D stuff in it. I wouldn't mind if it just happened a few times, but here, your forced to go 2D in every frikkin stage. And it really begs the question on why not just make the entire game 2D instead of having these little 3D bits that are nothing more but cock teases? But hey, this is SEGA and as you know, they never explain a dang thing. Obviously SEGA has no idea what kind of game they were making, they were trying so hard to make the Classic fan-brats shut up, Going 2D all the way and even adding in some of the old cheap robots of the past couldn't keep them quite. There was even this one time when I got stuck on Planet Wisp and the Aquarium level where I kept dyeing from trying to jump over a huge gap or to run away from a giant robot. It tells me to press a button and so I did, and I kept dying. Then I found out you have to either hold it down or keep pressing it, which worked. I'm sure they already explained this stuff in the first few levels, but after sitting through the out of date writing which was making me dumber, I barely remembered which button does what. Yeah, Sonic Colors was the worst to me, for those reasons. Edited by Shyna, Oct 7 2014, 09:07 AM.

To me, anything with a focus on story is a good game. Therefore, my perception of what a good Sonic game is differs a lot from what the majority seems to think. To me, everything between Sonic Adventure and Sonic 06 was the peak. Except Sonic Riders, story wasn't the focus so I didn't care for it too much. Unleashed was good too, from what I can tell. Got high hopes in Sonic Boom~ Edited by maria robotnik, Oct 7 2014, 01:32 AM.

My favourite Sonic game has to be Sonic Adventure 2 Battle for the Gamecube. Reason is, not because I grew up with it, i just got it like mid 2014. The real reason is because of the challenge it offers me. I recently told myself that I will A rank every mission, and get all 180 emblems to get GHZ. Some missions can be a royal pain in the butt, but in general, it offers the perfect balanced difficulty. Right now, I have like, 79 emblems, and a lot of A ranks. The worst, hands down is Sonic 3D Blast. The game is very fun, but it suffers from weird d-pad control, seriously! It messes your game play, at times like the Volcano Valley boss. I really was getting into it, even got all emeralds! Until, I realize, that I lost all my lifes at that dastardly boss. The game looks nice at the beginning, but lures you into a hard game if your playing with the default, and only playable, d-pad. Overall, im still a hardcore Sonic fan, and get old or new titles when I see them in my towns old game store/stores. |

My pick for best Sonic game was Sonic Adventure, while the worst was probably Sonic 3D Blast. I'll take '06 and Boom over that any day, haha. |

In my actual opinion, the DS version of sonic colors was pretty quick and simple, it's what happens if you make a short game with a 2D side scroller game. I disliked Chronicles not because of the storyline, music and graphics (YEESH, those things are cool!), I hated it from the lack of shortness and control, you guide Sonic with a simple pen like a pseudo joystick on the screen... Sonic 3D blast was actually more boring, because Sonic's "Mach speed" was decreased about 50% |
