Ashige and Himerope; A Dog and a Voxai alien fused together

Ice Cap Act 1
The third Sonic Fan-Character of mine, and perhaps the last one of mine who is a good guy (I do have some stuff for some villainous ones in mind, such as a few new Eggman Robots and such others). This Dog character, Ashige, is unique, in that he isn't actually one being, but two creatures fused together as one. He is going to also be the one who takes care of another Sonic Character of mine, Polyphemus the Prototype Gizoid.

I had a hard time finishing these guys. I went through a lot of sketches to make his appearance just right, and a lot of revisions to his overall bio. Overall though, I like how he turned out. His overall concept of a Dog fused with one of the Psychic/Energy Manipulating Aliens known as the Voxai was rather unique, but would be difficult to implement just right. Originally I was going to make him a wolf, but after some suggestions from my friends, I thought that it would be better for him to be a dog, as to make a sort of Love/Hate relationship with my other one, Bella The Cat. I put a whole lot of effort into the special effects of his attacks, to make them more Voxai-like.

I have posted them both on my Deviant Art profile, and now I figured that I'd share them with you guys here. I expect to use them in Sonic RP's as well.

I'll post them both here. Sorry for the long descriptions, but there's just a lot about them. Please tell me what you think about Ashige and Himerope.

I'll Start with the first part of these two.

Ashige The Dog

Posted Image

Name: Ashige

Age: 19

Species: Dog

Affiliation: Good

Personality: Ashige was originally a dog who lived around Station Square and is very reserved. He also is a bit cold in personality, and can be a bit rude to others at times, but still is overall nice.

Ashige works a career as a stunt racer, driving on various obstacle-filled tracks, especially , and although he isn't exactly a champion racer, he had won enough races to become very well-renowned by others. When not racing, he likes to spend his time parkour running across station square. He enjoys this recreational activity and thinks of large cities as his playground for that. He isn't exactly a complete tech expert (he's nowhere near as tech-savvy as characters such as Tails), but he has some skills with it, knowing how to repair and perform maintenance on his own racer by himself and design stuff such as a parkour grapple on his own.

After the event that led to him becoming permanently merged with the Voxai, Himerope, his life changed greatly. Although Ashige is mostly reserved and cold, he greatly cares about Himerope, not only because Himerope is now pretty much a part of his body and the two have to depend on each other to survive, but since the two now constantly see into each other's minds, he knows everything that Himerope has been through, and feels really sorry for the poor Voxai, who has been through quite a lot. He now eats a bit more and can appear as sort of a glutton, but this is mostly because he now has to support both his needs and Himerope's needs. Ashige doesn't usually let others know about his state with Himerope, except with close friends. When around people who know about his condition, he refers to himself as "we" or "us" rather than "me," in respect to Himerope.

His name, "Ashige" is Japanese for "Dappled Gray." It describes his color scheme.

Overview: Ashige had a mostly great life with a lot of excitement and action. His career was in stunt racing, and when not racing or preparing for a race, he loved to run the buildings of Station Square. However, one day that he did not predict, his self and his life would be changed forever.

Basically, Ashige was hanging out in Station Square that night. He then scales a tall building using a custom-made parkour grapple, and found this to be a great place to view the sky. However, he did not expect what would happen then. While on top of the building, he heard a voice in his mind, from a otherworldly creature that had just made it to Earth. Ashige was startled by this, since no one but him was on top the building at the time, and he could not see who had just said that.

Ashige would not recall exactly what happened next, but suddenly, this otherworldly visitor, Himerope the Voxai, collided with him. This would've meant the death of them both, but due to Himerope's abilities neither of them died from that. Instead, a strange anomaly occurred. The two of them merged together and became one. As they did, all of Himerope's memories flashed across Ashige's mind and all of Ashige's memories flashed across Himerope's, followed by them both going unconscious. Once he regained consciousness, he found himself now with Himerope as part of his body, and Himerope's Energy Manipulation and Psychokinesis abilities were now his to control.

Ashige's finds his new abilities that he gained to be both a good thing and a bad thing. It's a good thing for him since he now has much higher mobility and reflexes, and can now better fight against anyone who tries to harm him, as well as these abilities have proven useful in both parkour and stunt racing. However, he also dislikes it, since now, unlike before, he has been targeted by various individuals such as Eggman. He never really had many enemies, until then.

Abilities: Ashige now possesses many abilities that are much like a Voxai, and his body has changed in ways too. His abilities focus mainly on the energy manipulation powers of the Voxai, which were much stronger for Himerope's, although he still has abilities having to do with their psychic powers.

Due to them having a direct network to each other's minds now, when both Ashige and Himerope think the same thoughts, they gain a slight boost in power as well.

After becoming fused with Himerope, Ashige's fur fell out, but quickly grew back as a series of whisker-like fibers. These fibers he now has for fur allow him to channel his new abilities, and when using his powers, they glow and change color from gray to red. Also, the pupils of his eyes have Himerope's eyespot pattern on them now. He usually wears a pair of goggles in order to cover this up. Ashige's coat, which he was wearing at the time, is also now fused and stuck onto his body now too, so it cannot be removed now.

Ashige also wears a pair of high-tech wrist cuffs and a choker, which Himerope helped him design. These wrist cuffs and choker help him maintain better control over his powers, especially since those are the areas where his coat is now stuck onto now, and his fur fibers are not exposed. The orbs on his cuffs and choker change color and glow as well when he uses his powers, mainly the abilities transmitted from his hands.

Ashige's main ability is that he can now expend energy that his body generates, though not the energy from anything else, with a few exceptions, such as from rings and chaos emeralds, which are designed to be used by other creatures.
His main way of using this is in an attack called his "Pulse Shot." It is an energy blast attack similar to the energy blasts that the Voxai could fire. He expends the energy in pulses or waves, and he shoots from his fingertips, usually making a "Fingerbang Pose" as he does to direct the energy. Also by using his mind, he can make his Pulse Shots change direction slightly, allowing him to make his shots curve and travel in an arc if he wants. He can also shoot them from his feet if he wants.

Ashige can also produce round green Energy Blades from his arms, which are shaped like discs with a hollow center. They are just like the Round Energy Blades that the Voxai would use for their melee attack. However, due to Himerope's greater energy manipulation, his Disc Blades are slightly longer and have better cutting power. This is his main Melee Attack. He also uses them for his equivalent of a "Spin Dash," he spins horizontally like Blaze does, with both Disc Blades out.

Another ability of his is that he can shoot a quick Wave Burst from his feet once while he's in the air, propelling him forwards. This move he calls "Wave Step" and its basically like a Double Jump, except that it also damages foes close to him when used. He can also use it to break his fall by Wave Stepping near the ground.

Also through use of psychokinesis, although he cannot levitate or fly, Ashige can change the position of his Center of Gravity to somewhere else on his body. The advantage of this is that it allows him to maintain balance even when he should fall over, by shifting his Center of Gravity to somewhere else on his body that would allow him to stay upright.

Ashige also possesses some of Himerope's remaining psychic attacks. One of these is Psychic Wave, where he emits red waves that do considerable harm and can sometimes paralyze a foe, useful in making an enemy unable to attack.

There's also another psychic attack that Ashige can use called "Disorientation Shot." This attack involves Ashige firing orbs at the foe, which do not cause damage, but they upset the balance of their target and causes the foe to experience vertigo, effectively disorienting them periodically. This attack has even proven effective on many of Eggman's robots too, as for it messes up their gyroscope.

One of Ashige's most powerful abilities is called "Singularity." For this one, he creates an energy vortex around him that sucks in all foes about as big as himself, and then spits them out everywhere. It's quite powerful, but short ranged. Also, it is only strong enough to pick up others about his size or smaller, but is almost useless against foes of a much larger mass.

One of his other very useful abilities is that due to them being two minds thinking at once and helping each other, his reflexes and agility are also much greater. Although he’s not fast running like Sonic, (his running speed is about as fast as Amy Rose), he can avoid most attacks much better now with lightning-fast reflexes, and is great at avoiding enemy attacks when he's aware of them.
To give an example of his dodging ability, he can even dodge gunfire that he’s aware of to some extent, even if the enemy has a perfect shot.

Finally, Ashige/Himerope has access to another great ability that the Voxai were demonstrated to possess. Whenever a Chaos Emerald is within 200 meters of him, it changes into a "Great Emerald," making the energy act different and causing the Chaos Emerald to turn a deep pink in color. The effect is only temporary, and persists until the Emerald gets out of his range.

When a Chaos Emerald turned Great Emerald is actually in his possession, it amplifies their abilities much more and allows access to more abilities for them, making him stronger, and allowing him to use many more psychic and energy-based attacks, as well as making the ones he already possesses much stronger.

Also due to this, Ashige has the ability to use “Chaos Powers,” like Sonic and Shadow. He can use abilities such as Chaos Control, Chaos Blast, and others, although his mastery of them is a bit more limited. He’s best with Chaos Control though.

It's this ability that has made Ashige become a target for Eggman, who now wants him alive. Eggman wants to capture him for his ability to change Chaos Emeralds into Great Emeralds, which would allow him to unlock even more potential of the Emeralds than he ever had before.

However, although Ashige is very good at dodging enemy attacks, and his own abilities do heavy damage or can leave a foe in no position to fight back, he does have some big weaknesses.

One of Ashige's largest weaknesses is that he has terribly weak physical endurance and defense, and he can’t take very much harm. He can be knocked down quite easily, so a few very strong blows and he would be finished.

Also, overusing his powers can strain both him and Himerope physically and mentally though, so he does have a limit to his powers. Over-exertion could even be fatal. Basically, Ashige's powers are not meant for prolonged usage.

Although not too great of a weakness, anything that can possibly counteract psychic abilities is also greatly effective on Ashige. In fact, since he now has to use his new psychic powers to move his limbs, counteracting his abilities could also make him unable to move as well.

Because of his weaknesses, Ashige prefers to be more of an evasive strategic fighter in combat, rather than engage foes directly.
He likes to avoid harm more than attack, sometimes to the point of playing with his opponents, and prefers quick, precise strikes. When he does attack, he tries to go straight for the enemy's most vulnerable points, even small ones, such as pressure points or other weak spots to maximize damage. Himerope usually helps him analyze the enemy’s vulnerability more quickly, allowing him to do this fast. Also, he always uses his surroundings and environment to his advantage.

Now for the second part.

Himerope the Voxai

Posted Image

Name: Himerope

Age: [Unknown]

Species: Voxai

Affiliation: Good

Personality: Himerope is a member of the psychic and energy manipulating alien race known as The Voxai, and was originally one of the elite guards of the Voxai Overminds. Before the Argus Event, he lived on the Voxai homeworld, and like the others, took guidance daily from the Voxai Overminds's telepathic communications. He held the Overminds very near and dear to him. Himerope is very polite and is not hostile, like most of the Voxai, and he only wishes to use his powers to harm those who truly deserve it, but not to kill a living being.

During the Argus Event, Himerope, along with a number of other Voxai, left the planet on these ships, while most of their other population, including the three overminds, all got transported into the dimension known as the Twilight Cage. To Himerope, and the other Voxai who left, on the outside they did not know what truly happened in the Argus Event, and had believed that the Cosmic Horror known as Argus had swallowed them all, with no survivors.

After that, Himerope lost connection with the Overminds and was left without the ones he took guidance from and relied upon. This made him feel lost and isolated, without a sense of purpose. He drifted through space almost in an aimless fashion aboard his small ship with the others. This started to have an effect on him mentally, since he was without the ones he had taken guidance from for so many years, and as a result, weakened his Psychic Abilities greatly.

Himerope knows about a couple other alien races as well, which he learned about while drifting across space before. One race he knows about is the N'rrgal, which he dislikes, due to them being a race of rather simplistic amoeba/insect-like "Energy Eater" creatures whose only concerns are for their continued existence, and will think nothing less of literally draining the life out of other creatures for their own benefit, not to mention could easily take on the Voxai, since their psychic attacks have less of an effect on the N'rrgal with their hive-mind system, and although their energy manipulation powers could harm them, this also would make the N'rrgal more attracted to them, who would want to suck it all out of them and could sense it more easily from them.
Another alien race that Himerope is aware of is The Metarex, although he and the other Voxai don’t refer to them as “The Metarex,” but his kind has come to know them as “The Harvesters.” However, he has not actually encountered The Harvesters, and as a result, believes that they are just fake "Interstellar Propoganda" designed to make other alien races too scared to venture into occupied territory and such, though he would be quite wrong about that.

After becoming merged with Ashige The Dog, whom he is now a part of, Himerope felt that since he and Ashige are now one, his purpose is to now assist his unwilling host, for the benefit of them both, and lives in acceptance of that. He is unaware of how many Voxai are left remaining ever since, and for all he knows, he might be the last of his kind. He understands his new friend and host, Ashige, very well, especially since the two now have a direct network between each other and constantly see into each others' minds, therefore knowing each other really well. He feels sorry that he has made Ashige a target for some others, such as Eggman, but he does what he can to help them, and possibly make their fused state more of a good thing.

His name, "Himerope" comes from the name of one of the Sirens in Greek Mythology, whom most of the other more important Voxai, such as the Overminds and their elite guards, are also named after. Also, Himerope literally translates to mean "Longing Face."

Overview: Himerope is a unique Voxai, who possesses more of their energy manipulating powers, though just average Psychic Abilities, well average in comparison to other Voxai. He is also smaller than most other Voxai, although not because he is young, but he's just short (a dwarf of sorts). However, his better energy manipulation makes him quite powerful despite his size. In fact, his body would give off a distinct, but harmless pulsating aura at times due to the energy he exalted. His abilities were so strong, that he was appointed to be one of the Voxai’s elite guards of the Overminds. Like most Voxai, Himerope originally took guidance from the telepathic messages from the Overminds, and feels that he lacks much of a purpose without them.

During the Argus event, which sucked a large part of their world and many of the inhabitants into the Argus Cage dimension, Himerope was one of the few left behind. Before they were sucked in, the last signal sent to him from the Overminds was to leave the planet, without giving him a direction to where he would go. The Overminds did this because they did not want such a potent and unique Voxai to be lost, and it was already too late for the Overminds. Although they did not know it at the time, the Voxai who were caught in The Argus Event did not actually die, as the ones who left believed, but were merely transported to an alternate dimension known as The Twilight Cage.

So he did, although quite reluctantly, and soon he lost connection to the Overmind’s psychic signal. He went with many other Voxai aboard a space vessel, who would put him in Stasis for a few years at a time periodically while they drifted through space, letting him out from time to time so that he could still experience the worlds around him and so that the stasis wouldn't affect him too much negatively.

Due to all of this though, he lost his sense of purpose, and drifted through space almost in an aimless fashion aboard his small ship with the others. This started to have an effect on him mentally, since he was without the ones he had taken guidance from for so many years, and as a result, weakened his Psychic Abilities greatly. He could no longer read minds now or attack enemies minds, although he still retained his telepathic abilities, enhanced energy manipulation, and ability to interact with the mentally-operated technology that the Voxai use.

Many years later, he came across planet Earth, a world with sentient lifeforms. As the vessel he was aboard flew by, they also came across one of Eggman's space stations, which was orbiting the planet. While Himerope only meant to visit Earth briefly, and meet with some of the creatures there, suddenly without warning, Eggman's interstellar ships from near the station attacked his ship, mistaking it for an enemy craft, causing severe damage and making it plummet towards Earth.

His ship started to enter the atmosphere, and began hurdling to the Earth. The attacks by Eggman's ships severely damaged the vessel, and killed many of the other Voxai on board, except for him. The mental-linked controls were not responding, and now he was going to crash to Earth. As a last ditch attempt to save himself, he then hit the eject on his ship and launched himself out like a rocket, with his heavily damaged ship crashing down. He then decided that it would be a good idea to fly over the city of Station Square, hoping to find refuge there, enveloping his body in energy to try and reduce the friction, appearing as a crimson light streaking across the sky. However, as he did, he did not expect there to be another sapient creature in his flight path.

This is where Ashige The Dog came in.
Basically, Ashige was hanging out in Station Square that night. He then scaled a tall building using a custom-made parkour grapple, and found this to be a great place to view the sky. However, he did not expect what would happen then.
While on top the building, he started hearing Himerope's voice in his mind, Himerope sort of accidentally "touching minds" with Ashige, but Ashige was confused as for there is no one around but him, yet he could hear this voice. Ashige would not know exactly what happened next, but this would change both his and Himerope's lives forever,

Himerope, flying across the sky, then suddenly collided accidentally with Ashige from behind. Himerope thought that it would be terrible to die knowing that he killed an innocent sentient creature, especially since he may be the last of his kind. Of course, this would've killed them both, but due to Himerope's powers neither of them died from that.

Instead, a strange anomaly occurred. The two merged together and became one. As they did, all of their memories flashed across each other’s minds, followed by them both going unconscious. With that, Ashige then gained his powers and went on from there, which he would later find out about after awakening. Himerope then found himself unable to move, and now literally a part of this Earth creature's body, mainly by his own doing as to allow them both to survive. Himerope took this into acceptance, and felt that his purpose was to now assist and work with Ashige, his new friend, and host.

Abilities: Himerope's abilities consisted of being able to expend and manipulate energy from his body, as well as use various psychokinesis abilities, although his psychic powers had been dulled down due to how years of being without the Overmind's guidance started to have an effect on him mentally.

Originally, Himerope could do pretty much everything that Ashige currently can do, but now after his fusion with Ashige, most of his abilities are now Ashige's to control. All of those abilities are explained on the separate reference sheet on Ashige himself.

You cannot see Himerope now, as for he is now embedded inside of him, and infused within his body. Himerope lost the transparent upper part of his body after it, which cover the round, vital inner nucleus of his body. However, now being a part of Ashige, Ashige's own skin acts as that now. Himerope is ingrained around Ashige's spinal area, mainly by his inner nucleus. Ashige and Himerope now depend upon each other, both for special abilities, and to survive.
Despite the spinal damage suffered, Ashige can still walk and move around easily. He now uses his new psychokinesis powers to reconnect and stimulate his nerves in order to move his limbs.

Himerope now has to feed off of Ashige's nutrients while being ingrained to him in order to survive. As a result, Ashige eats a lot. He appears as a bit of a glutton due to this, but he has to because he now has to sustain two creatures at once now. Not that he minds this much though, as for his income from his career as a stunt racer allows him to afford this.

Although most of Himerope's abilities are now Ashige's to command, Himerope acts a presence in Ashige's mind, and communicates to Ashige through telepathy. Himerope often times guides him and helps him when he needs, acting as Ashige's eyes and ears on the battlefield. Himerope can also do things such as psychically scan a foe to find out where they are most vulnerable, and analyze other information for Ashige. They also now share each other’s memories and are always aware of what the other is thinking. Through him, Ashige learned of all he had been through, as well as Himerope knows very much about Ashige and his life as well.

Himerope can also telepathically communicate with others too. He can also use his powers to have Ashige mentally communicate with other people and have them communicate back too. In a sense, it’s like a “Telepathic Telephone.” This telepathy is limited to a range of 200 meters around Ashige though.

Now for one of Ashige and Himerope's unique forms, their Dominated State.

A little thing I'd like to clarify, This IS NOT a Super Form. It does require Chaos Emeralds to use, but he only needs at least one, and it's nowhere near as strong as a Super Form and doesn't grant invincibility to most attacks either. Not to mention that Himerope is controlling his mind while like this. It's more of a "Possessed Form."

Now for the full explanation of this other form of Ashige and Himerope.

Posted Image

Ashige and Himerope have access to another great ability that the Voxai were demonstrated to possess.

Normally, Himerope's psychic abilities are somewhat weaker than a normal Voxai, due to how they had been dulled down due to how years of being without the Overmind's guidance started to have an effect on him mentally, and also as part of what happened with him becoming merged with Ashige. However, once him and Ashige gain a Great Emerald, they are strengthened significantly, and this also allows Ashige to use another special ability upon his friend and host.

When enhanced by a Great Emerald, Himerope gains the ability to use his psychic abilities to take control of Ashige's mind and act through him whenever he wants. Essentially, he becomes able to possess Ashige and use him as a vessel.
It may look like Ashige here, but it is really Himerope in control while in this "Dominated State." The effect lasts until Himerope decides to release control of Ashige, or if the Great Emerald is taken away from them. Ashige, or more specifically, Himerope, usually keeps the Emeralds in his coat pockets though, to try and prevent this.

This ability is very similar to how the Voxai Overminds were able to control the minds of others once their psychokinesis abilities were amplified by two of the Chaos Emeralds turned Great Emeralds. "He no longer suggests with a Great Emerald, he Commands."
Himerope can only control Ashige's mind and not anyone else's though, mainly due to them sharing a bond between each other after becoming merged with each other. However, with more Great Emeralds in their possession, he can possibly take this ability even further.

Ashige really dislikes this ability, especially since he cannot resist it or cancel it out if Himerope decides to take control of his mind when he has a Great Emerald. However, Himerope understands how Ashige values his ability to make decisions for himself, and does not usually use it unless necessary. Himerope only resorts to this Mind Control in emergencies, or when he judges Ashige to not be capable of handling a situation by himself, therefore giving him a good reason to "Intervene With His Will."

While under the influence of Himerope's Mind Control, Ashige's appearance changes some. The Eyespot Markings that are now on his eye pupils light up, although this is usually covered by his goggles. Also his "Channeling Fibers" that he now has for fur all flares up and changes from his usually Gray Color Scheme to red. This change in color is actually signifying the Overdrive state he enters once possessed though.

One would also notice a great change in personality while Ashige is dominated by Himerope. Unlike Ashige, who is normally a bit cold, and can be rude, Himerope is much more polite and agreeable. Himerope learned about many Earth customs and such through Ashige's mind, although he is not perfect at it and sometimes messes up in places.

Another big difference in Ashige while in his Dominated State is that he tends to move around in a very noticeably Unnatural manner, mostly this being due to how Himerope struggles at times. Himerope does not make Ashige actually talk either, since he does not know how to do that. Instead, while controlling Ashige's mind, he communicates entirely through his telepathy powers, making it appear as if Ashige is talking without moving his mouth, and in a voice much different from his voice. Ashige's face still shows expression like this though, although now it's more of what Himerope is feeling here.

Ashige himself is rendered in an unconscious state while Himerope is possessing him. However, once Himerope releases control, he will have complete recollection of everything Himerope did through him in his memories. It's sort of like Ashige then experienced everything Himerope did while controlling his mind in a vision, but did not actually experience it first-hand.

Becoming a greater presence than Ashige while enhanced by the Great Emerald, Ashige's body is instantly sent into an Overdrive-like state while under Himerope's Mind Control. All of his fur suddenly flares up and turns from gray to glowing red, and he begins to emit the same pulsating aura as Himerope too.
This is very similar to how the Dominated Voxai Citizens would instantly jump into Overdrive and flare up red when possessed by the Overminds.

Ashige can also use this Overdrive form without being possessed by Himerope, but it still requires at least one Chaos Emerald turned Great Emerald for him to use it. His Overdrive state always comes on automatically when Himerope takes over his mind though.

Most of the energy from this enhancement comes from the Great Emerald. This Overdrive state greatly powers up Ashige's energy manipulation and psychic abilities, as well as gives him access to a couple more psychic and energy based attacks. Ashige can also use 'Chaos Powers' such as Chaos Control as a result too. However, his weak defense remains unchanged.

Finally, Himerope's fighting style is much different from that of Ashige. Unlike Ashige, who uses a highly evasive combat style, focusing more on dodging and striking the enemy's most vulnerable areas when he has the chance and uses psychic attacks to weaken them so that he has a chance to hit them, Himerope instead prefers to heavily bombard attackers with various psychokinesis attacks that are very difficult to avoid, attack the enemy's mind directly, and manipulates foes on the battlefield. Himerope also likes to utilize his abilities such as Singularity as well. He is aware of his friend/host's weak defense, but most of the time, the enemy will not be in any position to fight back once their mind is under siege by Himerope's strengthened mental abilities.
Himerope also likes to focus more on protecting others of importance in combat, rather than focusing more on trying to take down the enemy, and he is more likely to spare a foe than Ashige is too.

More to come about them eventually, including these upcoming parts about Ashige and Himerope

Also, I would like to ask a favor from for anyone who is my friend here.
If someday we meet in person in the near future, and I had recently done anything that would confirm that I had become a Brony (which as of now I am not one), such as if I had posted on a Pony-related fan-site, drawn a Pony-themed artwork, contributed to a Pony fanfic, or anything else along those lines. If I have done anything like that, I want you to punch me in the face without warning. This make sound like I'm joking, but I am absolutely serious about this. Ignore any future statements retracting this if I ever make any. Though if you do, please first confirm that it is me who is doing it, and not some Brony who is posing as me and wants to see me get punched. I do not wish to go down the path of the Bronies, and hopefully those of you reading this will help me so that it stays that way, if god forbid I ever even attempt it.
Thank you.
