Nighttime. The sky was clear, the stars were shining. 8 robots, built by Dr. Thomas Light. These were the Robot Masters, created with artificial intelligence and the ability to command other robots. Cut Man, created for logging. Elec Man, created to manage a power plant. Ice Man, created for arctic investigations. Fire Man, created to run a steel smelting factory. Bomb Man, created to blast away rock at a quarry. Guts Man, created to work as a foreman at a mine. Oil Man, created to run a oil refinery. Time Man, created as a prototype in the field of time manipulation. These 8 robots were resting, ready to be put to work. That would not happen, however. Silently, one by one, the robots were teleported away to a hovering saucer, a ship that a madman pilots. The ship snuck away in the dead of the night with its bounty. The next morning, the three remaining robots arose: Blues, a prototype and the original Robot Master, and Rock and Roll, created to work as lab assistants for Dr. Light. Rock stretched his arms. "That was a good night's sleep, leaving me powered for the day." |

Blues stretched too, and put on his sunglasses. He wasn't much of a talker. He went to go check on his other brothers. They were the ones that he preferred to "hang out" with, as he heard Rock say so much. Blues went to the storage lab, where he would find his eight brothers. However, they...were gone. Blues looked in disbelief. He then began to whistle, although this wasn't an ordinary whistle. This was a whistle that signified that something was seriously wrong, and needs to be rectified. |

Dr. Light heard the whistle, as did Rock. They both rushed into the lab, to find it empty. "My robots, they're gone!" Light said, exasperated. "What... What happened to them?" "Dr. Light! Dr. Light!" Roll called. "The news!" Light rushed to the living room, and saw what was happening. His robot masters were on a rampage, assisted by converted Picketmen. "Who would do such a thing?! I... I don't know what to do..." Light slumped onto the couch, head in his hands. How could such a thing happen? |

Blues never spoke, but when he did, it was quick, and to the point. "Something needs to be done." His brothers were out there, causing destruction. His hands were clenched. |

Rock looked at the floor, then closed his eyes. "...We have to take them out." "What?" Light said, looking up. "Give us the ability to fight. We will stop them." Rock said, raising his head with a look of determination. "It's a drastic option, but..." Light said, scratching his beard. "...We have no choice. Okay, I will do it." |

"As am I." Rock said. "...Alright. Turn off, and I will get to work." Light responded. Sparks, plasma, power. Rock was given a new blue body, with state-of-the-art armor. Blues was given similar armor, but red. Both gained a Plasma Buster, a weapon that replaced their hand when in use. Also created for them are two special helmets, Blues' helmet coming with a shaded visor. They were ready for battle. Rock awoke. "You're ready to fight. Your new forms deserve new names. Rock, you are now Mega Man. Blues, you are Proto Man." Light said. |

"Good luck, my children." Light said with a hint of sadness. With that, the two brothers were teleported. They rematerialized in a construction site, one with a lot of green bricks. They were inside a small one-room structure that was under construction. |

Mega Man noticed a few more small rooms under construction in front of them, then noticed a large building under construction ahead of them. "Careful, they might be on that building!" Mega said. He progressed into the second "hut" right as a bullet of plasma whizzed right by his head. He looked closely, and saw several Picketmen on the large building, with their mining shields out and hands replaced with plasma busters. "They're trying to shoot us from that building! Take cover and return fire!" |

Proto then dove behind a wall, where he noticed what appeared to be a shield lying about. He grabbed it, and leaned out a couple of shots from behind it. |

"Hm, it's a Picketman shield." Mega said as he saw the yellow-and-black shield Proto picked up. He then focused his attention. There were three foes trying to take them out: One on the second level, one on the fourth, and one on the fifth. The lowest one would be the one that would have the best aim at them, so Mega focused on that one first. He stepped out of cover and fired three shots at the foe. Two were deflected by the shield, but the third hit its body. It took a step back before opening fire on him, causing Mega to dive back into cover. |
