It's time for a Mario Kart 8 thread! Because people have it and are talking about it so it probably warrants one, right? Seriously, why hasn't this thread been made before now? General thread to talk about the game and what you like, don't like, are looking forward to, etc. Feel free to organise races in here and share your Mario Kart TV clips too. Though I'd appreciate it if you spoilered any embeded videos if it's going to be a regular thing. Some computers can't deal with it. Anyways, have at it and have fun! Luigi.  I really want to see peoples' races and videos though. Those hilarious highlights. As for me and the game, I hope to get it soon. I've never been all that invested in Mario Kart as much as other Nintendo series, haven't really been into one since DS, but this looks the most promising. Maybe I'll get the MK8 bundle down the line. |

 How could you not love this guy? Since Super Mario Kart, Yoshi has always been my main racer. Partially because Yoshi happens to be my favorite character in the Mario series and partially because I've always liked the way he controls. And Mario Kart 8 is no exception that. And it just so happens that I have a video; Spoiler: click to toggle And don't you dare tell me that his wave at the end isn't one of the most adorable things ever. |

Please tell me this isn't based solely on that meme's existence. MK7 proably would have been a good game for you too, really. MK8 feels like that, but retuned and tightened up a bit. Item balance is also a lot better this time around and in general you recover a lot faster. Way better than MKDS, for sure. Not spiky enough~ I dunno. I don't really dislike Yoshi, but I don't really like him either. Probably thanks to pretty much everyone picking him back in the day (Toad suffers similar problems). Also I tend not to go for the 'adorable' characters. Probably comes to the surprise of nobody that my favourite is Bowser, as he has been for pretty much every game. Risky to use, but pretty rewarding when you get it right. Also his animations are so good in this game. Other favourites are Larry and Iggy, whom I pick for Light and Medium respectively. I occasionally pick Lemmy instead of Larry. but being a featherweight makes him less than ideal. I like Metal Mario in this game too. Dem mechanical motions. |
