Marble Garden Act 1
|
Amon and Cyber returned to the camping site unharmed and uneventful. The woods were quiet, or should Cyber say, too quiet. He wondered if his companions realized it, how their spine shivered underneath the eeriness of it all and their weapons pressed firmly against their bodies in case one bump in the night became life-threatening. There would be one eye open tonight, he thought. Was he the only one worrying over this whole mission, which had only just begun? If so, he had better brace himself for the same preoccupations as they progressed because they'll be here for days. On his first day, Cyber had, and still was, struggling to come to terms with his unusual routine. The military regime was structured so well, so flexible to his liking. No surprises, no drastic changes. Cyber thrived on order and organization within life. Amon grew impatient and more or less fatigued the longer he carried the stacks of wood. He, too, wasn't used to the mission--the physical aspects of it. His body was slimmer than his companions, his arms weakening against the weight of the planks. Heavy items bogged down the speed and agility he was gifted with. Considering such a gift, he sometimes wondered if he had chosen the right profession. Alchemy relied heavily on his intelligence and books, but he was a book lover himself. It was, of course, a new profession, one he had only picked up almost two years ago so he could understand how inferior his abilities were in comparison with someone like Iria. If he had chosen a more agile profession, like thievery or hunting, he'd excel, but miss the thrill of knowledge via books. Also, alchemy was forbidden in Libra so, for the sake of himself, he was forced, for the entirety of the mission, to keep his powers at a strict minimum. No one would ever have to inquire why he chose forbidding techniques over his natural-born state. ~~~~~ "Got it," Zach replied and then added, "Won't be much of a cause if I'm dead, but who are we kiddin'? I'm not dyin' anyway." The fox crew scattered to their positions just as Lossal had planned. As Muddy walked with Lossal, he looked back with a concerned look on his face, quietly agreeing that maybe Zach's over-blown confidence was going to get himself killed, and Muddy didn't want that for anyone, but he had to trust Lossal, who knew their abilities more than they knew themselves. They all had to trust him. "So, Hans. You ever seen me shoot a bow?" Zach asked him as they stood in position. Hans took the bow from him. "That's mine. Besides, I don't think you'll be using bows. They aren't the only long-ranged weapons, ya know." "Then, what?" Zach asked. Edited by Dark Hero, Jun 21 2014, 01:33 AM.

Hydrocity Act 2
|
The group had been sleepless that night. To pass the time Snow was humming to herself and then became more curious of the silent genet who had yet to really say much of anything about himself. She had to ask questions. Snow: Amon, may I please ask you a question? ---------- ???: By the power of the holy, may thine light smite thee, Ideno! *multiple foes had fell completley in there footsteps..the undead. but the bandits were wide in number and still attacking brutally. Luna: Prince Rey, watch out! King Rey: *blocks the arrow that was shot at Prince Rey using holy magic* Come my son. We must purge these demons! Prince Rey: Yes father *thinking to self, Kluya where the hell are you?* |

Amon, slightly startled by Snow's presence, looked up from his book. A fire still lit in order to aid him in reading in the dark as well as to keep them all warm when the wind occasionally penetrated their tents. Snow certainly had been invading his moment of solitude where he felt at ease in his inner world--whatever that consisted of--and, since he was now involved in this mission, occasionally thought about the day ahead. "You... are awake," he said. He wanted to ask her why, but assumed she might have been just as sleepless as he was, which happened often for him. Acknowledging the question at hand, he asked calmly, "Yes. What is it?" ~~~~~ Unbeknownst to them, Kluyah had snuck out of the palace early in the night while everyone was sleeping. Carrying a lamp and a bag of essentials, Kluyah had taken a shortcut through his window by tying a ready-made rope to his bed post and suspending the rope outside to where it safely touched the ground. Sliding the bag up to his shoulder and carrying the lamp in one hand, he used his free hand to climb down the rope. Before departing, he held the lamp's fire up to the rope, burning it to a crisp (he had made sure his bed and window would not catch on fire beforehand). Almost stealth-like, he ran to the palace's stables where he acquired his horse, Henry, and traveled to his destination, the Grandis Mountains before the bandits attacked. The Necromancers, after all, were waiting patiently for him. Kluyah approached an area surrounded by oak trees. A fire was brimming in the distance, revealing many cloaked figures in shadow. Coming in close, he knew he was in the right place. Dismounting his horse, he took Henry's reins, led him to a nearby tree, and tied the reins for the time being. He did not forget to spread out a barrel of hay for the horse. Kluyah's shadow crept on the clear plains, alerting some Necromancers, who turned from their rituals to greet him. "Greetings, friends," Kluyah grimly said, officially announcing his presence. He let out an excited chuckle, assuming the assault on Life Palace had already begun and his fathers were worriedly wondering where he had run off to. They would never guess his hideout... or his true intentions. "'Tis all going according to plan." Edited by Dark Hero, Jun 21 2014, 01:38 AM.

Marble Garden Act 1
|
"Well, for one, we'll be in cooperation with one another so learning about each others' strengths and weaknesses will prove beneficial if we're ever going to succeed... The enemies we face will no doubt be familiar if not better, considering it's been a year's worth," Amon replied, explaining in as much detail as he could. He had thought long and hard about this mission all night - and technically, the whole last year albeit bits and pieces. It seemed that getting closer to the mission would provoke him to preoccupy himself with the situation more and the associated tasks. Honestly, he had never really been on a full-fledged mission before, but considering the studious years of honing his battle strengths, which, regrettably, had yet to be revealed, Amon felt more confident than he would have if he came unarmored and unprepared. Who knew what lay in those woods? Amon glanced at his book, debating whether or not to put aside for the night, but he saw that Snow was not going to settle for just one answer from him. She came out here for more out of him and now that it was a one-on-one conversation with--he hesitated to admit, a pretty girl--he felt more comfortable. Cyber's method of forcing and hammering for answers was an annoying and desperate attempt at befriending an introvert like them. If Amon guessed, Cyber would have to stoop down to his level if they were going to have a chance. Suffice to say, Amon wasn't going to let him die anyway since he was crucial to the mission--the 'borg was a fighter anyway. An extroverted fighter at that... so it would seem Cyber hadn't really acquired enough battle scars to hammer the cruelty of reality into him. Amon eyed Snow sitting across from him. She, indeed, intended to stay longer. Placing his book into his bag, he took a sip of herbal tea from his canteen and offered Snow some, who kindly refused. "So... the mission. I think what may happen is we'll run into God-knows-what lives out here. You never know... animals can be mutated too." He chuckled slightly at mutations, having encountered these very aliens in his own alchemical practices. They were not a pleasant sight, their flesh oozing out of their skin like the Bubonic Plague and their teeth rotting from the inside out. They would become deformed right before your eyes and you'd wish you had no eyes, but he found himself diverting from the discussion and to redeem himself, Amon posed a new question--the night wasn't going to hide them forever. "Pardon me for this sudden change in topic, but what is it that you do, madam?" Amon asked, hoping his sudden question was not going to bother her. ~~~~~ Kluyah took out the Legion Tome from his bag and placed it in Lord Evo's hand. It was a medium-sized, very thick book full of dusty, old pages. As Lord Evo quickly flipped through them, he could see Kluyah's notes scrawled in black ink over certain diagrams and instructions. A bit of math was involved, calculating times for each technique and how many of the necromancers would be needed for a plan to work. Big X's were drawn over methods that Kluyah felt would never work. Lord Evo looked inquisitively at these notes and although he did not show it, Kluyah almost saw a glint of impression in his eyes. He gave a menacing smile. "As you can see, I've spent more time than you would have expected from a boy like me... now, Supper!" Kluyah was met by a few other Necromancers, who showed him the way to their bonfire where they were having dinner. Just seconds in, and Kluyah was devouring his meat like a starving dog. His journey to get here proved difficult and long, after all. |

Hydrocity Act 2

Snow: What is it that I do? Could you be more specific about your question? I do many things that I organize into certain things. ---- Lord Evo: *closes the book and placing it within his bag* Hmm.... Muirance, tell me have you pin-pointed where the recon groups are? Muirance: They've sent more recons and scouts than we had anticipated my lord. Lord Evo: That's fine. They will eventually come back to there castle, make sure to post hidden Snapper minions around the castles wall once we take it over. Muirance: yeesss my lord. Valdor will make sure of it. ------------ Hammerhead, Dame, Lossal and the pupils had finished smashing the bandit camp. But things didn't seem right. It was as if ... the bandits had expected it. King H: That does that. Guys pack up any supplies you find around here. Lossal: Very well your majesty. Pupils help us pack the supplies up. |

Marble Garden Act 1

Hearing her reply amused the genet, who almost felt ashamed to have asked such a vague question. Years of education, however, was not about to fail him now as he quickly conjured a more specific question that would suffice them both. "More is better. I suggest you first start with one of your categories - long-ranged, if you will." He looked towards the direction of Cyber's tent. "It is gravely needed after all." ~~~ Lossal's pupils nodded their heads and trailed off to gather the supplies. Muddy stopped to ask, "Sir, do we gather the bandits' supplies too? What if it alerts other bandits?" Zach had heard this question and was itching to counterattack him when he saw Lossal look him in the eye with a stern face. "Hmph..." he muttered to himself and continued picking up items. Damien had not paying attention to the group as he gathered weapons to place in a bulky bag, which he carried on his shoulder. He replayed the battle in his head, wondering how it seemed that the bandits had expected this sudden attack from them. Damien examined each weapon before picking it up, suspicious of traps that lay beneath them. Upon handling the blades and small axes, Damien could see that these weapons appeared to be more advanced than the wooden and rusty swords from the previous year--may one add that not only had Damien had his years of military experience, but he was also raised by parents of the same caliber, one who happened to be an expert in weaponry. She would be his saving grace in his matter. "They're getting stronger, he thought, and stronger meant more allies. When he had finished his search, he placed the sack on a nearby table and spread out the flap, revealing the weapons. Examining long hard the biggest, sharpest blades, he called on King Hammerhead Ruby, who, upon hearing his call, held his sheathed sword and tread lightly over any traps in the tall grass. Damien watched the way his king approached and figured the king must have known of the bandits' sudden strength. "Your Majesty, have you seen the size of these weapons? Their engraved textures... I can't seem to decipher these symbols. For all I know, they may be our clues to determining any buddies these limb-picking rascals may have. How ironic." |

Hydrocity Act 2

Snow: Long range is my specialty. I'm an expert archer and a strong Mage. My magic isn't better then the dedicated mage but it's strong nontheless. My archery i'd prefer to let it speak for itself. ---------- King H: Hmm... They seem like words of the ancient bandit kings... Lossal, could you come over here? Lossal: *walks cautiously over to his king and his fellow general* Yes, what is it my king? King H: Can you read this? Lossal: *takeing a look he instantly remember the textures engraved within the weapons*. These words haven't been used since The ancient city of Darcla was in prosperity. It's no wonder they decided to use these words in there weapons... It'll take a while to read out all the weapons however, Let's pack up first and i'll get to them once we're in a safer enviroment. |

Marble Garden Act 1

"Archery will do," Amon said, quietly taken aback by the flash of a bow and arrow entangled by red fur. He couldn't believe his eyes, but traced his steps back to reality. "Magic won't be necessary," Amon continued, hesitantly conjuring a black and purple ball in his hand, calmly hoping the magic won't blow his cover. A moment later, he snapped the ball out of sight. ~~~ "It is sudden of me, but your age benefits us greatly, Sir Lossal," Damien complimented him. The porcupine was not much for praising people, but Lossal's ancient longevity proved to be a feat when coming across the artifacts of his time. Damien did not care about these artifacts--no, not about the love of history, he had none of that--but about the success Lossal's knowledge would have over these bandits who dared use what the modern-day people did not know. It was almost cheating. "How do you think these engravings will help us in the fight against these dirt-suckers, sir? I demand a before-and-after analysis for every preparation. Now is the before," Damien spoke again. |

Snow: Conjuring? I've seen this type of magic one time before actually. So anyways, what do you think of the cyborg? ---- Lossal: The engravings could tell us exactly what there battle plans could be and what there strengths are. If we're lucky it could also lead us directly into there other hideouts sir. King H: Sounds useful... *looks in the distance* EVERYONE GET DOWN NOW! -Everyone dashes to the ground, even assisting everyone getting down- King H: *whispering* It seems as though the enemy has sent reinforcements, everyone get ready. for a sneak attack, there's not many. --------- Mac and his group alongside Prince Rey had fled the castle before the bandits and undead had taken over the castle they were now hiding within a forest. They were now going to be searching for the scouts and reconnaissance groups. Prince Rey: So we have a plan, but how are we going to find them? we have no idea where they were sent off to! Rurik: Verata and I had made copies of the documents before they were sent young prince. Mac: There's alot of groups sent out. We need to find the most we can as quickly as we can. Dusty: So what shall we do then? Mac: I'd hate to have to split the groups, especially when we're in a situation like this but we have no other choice. Rush: So how are we gonna go about it? Rurik: We have alot of seperate papers, We must search out the places with the most soldiers signed onto a certain mission area. Mac: We will split into 3 groups for this. There will be 3 leaders. Myself, Verata, and Rurik. Choose your members. Prince Rey, and Argo will be on my team. Verata: Luna, and C.I. Rurik: That'll leave me with Rush and Dusty then. Mac: We rendezvous at this spot within 2 days, Now lets move! Prince Rey: *thinking to self* Father, I'll be back soon... |
