Hydrocity Act 2
The day before the mission, this is when Snow, Amon, and Cyber are all beginning to accept the reality of there fates, as they will begin the next day together for whom knows how long. May fate favor them.

----

Snow is just now waking up from her sleep, she begins her daily stretches and then dresses into an apropriate public outfit. She knows what she must do, she must learn about her new 'companions' more for she hasn't much about neither of the two.

Snow: Tommorows the day we start, i've been putting this business off for a while now, I must know the basic gist of what my two allies are capable of... I heard that King H had arrived today with his generals... maybe I can ask Ivan about the two, this might be quite a walk... afterwords, I'll go see Mac... hopefully he hasn't departed into some kind of training exercise outside the kingdom when i'm done.

--------------

King H, and the generals Ivan and Damien are within the Conference room in Life Palace, They're preparing the areas specific that need investigation work on.

King H: Hmmm, Dame, can you go fetch me Lossal, He ought to be out around the training yards with those pupils of his, Ivan I need you to do some assessments on where to send some of our scout and recon units, since the bandits re-appearance we must be sure they haven't changed some of the land big time, our recons shall do that. and our scouts will search the areas we already know of.

Dame: Yes, your Majesty.

Ivan: Yes your majesty... anywhere specific?

King H: Hmm.... The Grandis Mountains haven't been visited in a while have they?

King Rey: From what I heard from King Death Reap, they've been out of use since the Holy Division was formed.

King H: So 7 years ago then... That does not bode well then. We will definatly need to plot our recons there, How about Fanubia?

King Rey: Ever since the increased patrols in Fanubia we've spotted odd coins and broken crate pieces. The coins are what would spike our curiosity the most, the crates could just be from caravans that normaly cross the desert.

King H: Do you have any of these coins still?

King Rey: Kluya has been keeping them safe for when we can get a proper study on them, we wish to capture a bandit for interagation methods... however we haven't encountered any since the sneak attack against Banecutters squad.

King H: I see.... and of the forest Banecutter got attacked in?

King Rey: That place will be in need of both recon and scouting... the bandits were in it and we're unsure if they have made changes or not.

King H: Very well then.

King Rey: Which brings me to question, if the bandits are here... then could they possibly be elsewhere all in the same time?

King H: I've left Libra up to Queen Emma, I'm unsure of the Sapphire's yet, although I hear Ezra has departed to the Dervin Empire to assist them with there scouting and recon.

King Rey: So, we could possibly join Dervin to our group ?

King H: Yes, and with luck we might drive them back, I would hope the Lancet Empire has a strong grasp on there land, if they were attacked things would be bad indeed.

King Rey: We must be calm about these things my good fellow, to alert the entire alliance wouldn't be a good thing. This may just be a small problem that can be easily handled.

King H: You're right, but even though our main targets are the bandits as of right now, do remember the sighting of the necromancer.

Ivan: What of the Bandit Camp in Era Forest your majesty?

King H: What bandit camp?

Ivan: The one that general Lossal and Macs groups had found last year.

King H: Oh yes that... the map is unfounded.... hmm we shall send only a single recon party there.

Ivan: Very well your majesty. Shall we proceed like normally?

King H: Yes, volunteers first, then the random choice if every party hasn't been chosen yet.

---------

In the training courtyards, General Lossal and the Sapphirean Prince Mac are training with there groups.

Lossal: Young highness, I have something to give to you.

Mac: Yes, what is it?

Lossal: The maps and other things I found in that bandit cave last year, I am giving them to you, I have thought more upon the cave and have decided that my group will not be making any returns there. So I shall be giving these to you. I believe you shall have better use of them.

Mac: Thank you General Lossal.

Rush: Hey C.I., you see that guy over there?

C.I.: Yeah man, thats general Lossal. He's a legend to us people who fight with our fists man.

Rush: Why don't you go talk to him?

C.I.: Shit dude, and make myself look like some kind of fan boy? No time fo dat. nope not at all my home dawg.

Rush: Eh, Suit yourself.

C.I.: Hey, hold up... IS THAT MY SIR!?

Damien's eyes were fixated on Lossal's huge, rocky figure as he tread through the mucky soil of the training grounds. He had judged that the rain poured earlier that morning to signify the bloody omen of the recon parties tomorrow. No, only his mother believed in those crazy superstitions. Still quite a warrior she was, and a beautiful one at that despite her age.

"Sir Lossal," Damien addressed the ancient man.

"Sir Damien," Lossal called back.

"A message from the Ruby King, sir. He would like to speak with you," Damien informed, placed a folded-up letter in the giant's hand. As he awaited an answer, he glared at Zach, that red-haired pupil, who had the audacity to stand beside Sir Lossal like some little squire who thought he could defend someone with more than enough battle experience. Other than this thought, the fox's presence was just unpleasant altogether.

~~~
"Give me your best shot, Leyak. Don't be afraid to strike at me," Cyber told Leyak, who appeared to be hesitating behind his armor. "Come on, Leyak! I need this if I'm going to protect the princess and be of use to the party... now!"
Roald, seeing as to how Leyak did not move a muscle, stood in front of him and took over. He nodded at Cyber to inform him of his preparations. Upon receiving the cue, Roald swung at Cyber, who was dodging his sword much better than he was the last few days. As he dodged, Cyber would try to sneak up from behind Roald and pretend to threaten him with his cannon arm pressed against his back and ready his blade. He would use physical attacks to turn Roald around, get him off of him, and counterattack him in a position where the second-in-command felt vulnerable... or, at least, Cyber tried to. Roald was one of the best corporals to remain guarded. Even Cyber wouldn't fool him. By the end of the session, Cyber was panting and resting on a tree stump.
"I think that'll be all," Cyber said in between his breaths. He paused and looked at the Rangdas. "Do you... think I'm ready?"
~~~

Amon was slowly walking down the corridor and heading to lunch, a book wide open, when he paused at Snow's door, which was wide open. A maid busied herself in there, he noticed, but the arctic fox seemed troubled. Amon's gaze fell back on the pages of his book as he continued down the corridor, deciding that if anyone needed him, they'd approach him themselves.

Lossal: from Hammerhead? I see, *Lossal says as turning around to his pupils* hmm... Damien, could you watch over them for a while? They're in a training exercise of which I believe is serious enough to ask you of... it's a teamwork sparring to see how well they work as a group. Originaly I was to be there opponent... would you mind filling in for me?

C.I.: YO MY SIR WHATS GOOD?!!!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?

Dusty and Rush: *facepalm*

--------

Roald: You're doubting yourself. Remember what Thunderkeep had told the G.E.M. during initiation day? ''a fighters biggest weakness is to doubt themselves''. In a mindset like that you're never ready. Come on man, we've never seen you like this before!

Leyak: *is still in shock from his superior's sudden doubt in himself*.

--------

Snow: Mayfair(the name of the maid) could you come here please?

Mayfair: *as the maid had hurried to finish tucking away her supplies, she had rushed back to see what the sapphirean princess was in need of.* ''Yes?''

Snow: I would like you to find Prince Macs room, if he's there tell him to stay around for a while and not to go into the training grounds, if he isn't leave this letter in his door please.

Mayfair: Yes m'lady. *taking the note and hurrying along with her own business*.

Snow: Well it's time to exit now. It's time to begin my day for real this time. *exits out of her room*.

---------

Elsewhere in an unknown area.

???: Valder, what is the news of our foes?

Valder: They've picked up on our attack, the news has picked up swiftly.

???: Good, I suspect they will start sending in scouts... We shall have our army within the same areas as there scouts. I want them captured alive if possible, if the army ends up killing a few scouts... take the bodies as well. We will use the bodies as a trap to lure there armies into sneak attacks.

Valder: Wise decision lord Evo.

Evo: It's all thanks to Kluya's inside information. Are the Necromancers ready to begin a town assault with there minions

Master Necromancer: Yeeessssss your lordship. We shall begin the attack whenever ready.

Evo: Good, Flint!

Flint: Yes?

Evo: you, Timitoca, and Hartea... I want you to deceive some of the Sapphire Kingdom citizens, learn there secrets.But first, Our attack and capture of Life Palace will defiantly be useful for our domination. Shortly after we dominate it however, we will need to start setting traps and barricades from seas and land, then we shall take over Death Palace as it will be the only other area to take us at that point since they're the closest.

Flint: We shall depart for Sapphire right away

Evo: Make sure to do away with your bandit clothing, and find a decent disguise

Master Necromancer: The Ruby king and his generals will prove difficult to defeat especially since they're with King Life Reap.

Evo: They're there as well? Even better. Capture the kings alive, and do whatever you wish with the ''Eternal'' generals. The plan is set in motion, tommorow we attack. Meeting closed.

"You want me... to spar with these kids?" Damien asked Lossal, ignoring C.I. for the second time. He sighed, having no choice but to fill in anyway. "Go on, sir," he said and and watched the giant exit the area and out the gates. One could say that General Lossal Stonekeeper of the Ruby Kingdom was a living legacy, ancient and rugged as he was. The man certainly outlived several of his friends and witnessed countless battles since the beginning of Centurion's time. Such sympathy was to be expressed to the general, who wore a long-suffering façade behind all his pain. Even then, it was possible to guess that, by such longevity, Lossal experienced no pain. They say that war rips out your optimistic view on life and replaces it with an inane front that renders you insensitive to everyone around you, even your friends. Considering Lossal's pupils, Damien believed the same would happen to them if they fought any further, especially Zach... or would it? The kid seemed invulnerable to anything serious and life-threatening. How did he obtain this demeanor? Oh, through being stupid.

"Hey!"

Did he hear him? In all his thoughts?

"Hey! Are we going to train or not?" Zach asked the porcupine. The fox's impatience was at its limit and with his foot raised high, he stomped on Damien's boot, which, to his surprise, was hard as a rock. "Oww!" Zach yelped. He grabbed his foot and fell to the ground in a puddle of mud. The situation certainly brought Damien to the fox's attention. Chuckling, he looked down at the fox. "I've decided you look much more elegant in that dripping, brown dress," he stated.

Surprised that the porcupine had created a new, gender-imposing insult, Zach grew angry and stood on his feet, limping on one of them. "Looks like you can't fight already," Damien noticed. "Might as well watch your little friends get their arses whipped. I know you cherish yours."

"No... none of this would've happened if you hadn't been daydreaming!" Zach repudiated. He hopped to a nearby tree stump and held his leg, which ached from the inside. "Beat him, guys!" he demanded of Hans, Muddy, and Kelly. All three nodded and stood in position.

Damien nodded and stared at the foxes' hands. "Fists first? Very well then. Come at me."

The three of them looked at one another and nodded, going at Damien all at once. Hans took to punching Damien in the front, aiming for his chest. When he couldn't aim for his chest, he aimed for his face. Kelly, frustrated that Hans was taking up the front of the porcupine, ran to the back of him and attempted to kick his spine. As for Muddy, he would try to grab the porcupine so he could pin to the ground where his offensive partners could throw in some hits. All these strategies of teamwork, and the foxes... missed. Damien's slightly bulky size slowed him down, yes, but he dodged their attacks, blocking Hans's punches and moving away from Kelly's small--he had to admit, more powerful than he expected--kicks. Muddy was much too cowardly to place a finger on him so he pushed the fatty out of the way while defending himself from the foxes. When he found no progress was being made, he punched Hans through the stomach, turned around and pushed Kelly to the ground, and headbutted Muddy. With the three on the ground, Damien spat on the ground and glanced at Zach. "You want to be next, scrawny?" he asked firmly.

Zach shook his head, feeling helpless for his friends. He tried to muster a comeback, but the fighting suspended the words floating aimlessly in his mind. Accepting his answer, Damien turned back to the situation at hand. What has Lossal taught them over the past year? Nothing? Okay, teamwork was satisfactory. "Up, now!" his voice projected. The foxes, recovering from their one-punch injuries, struggled on their feet. Once they fully stood up, Damien spoke once more, "None of you are making much progress despite your teamwork efforts. Seems Lossal hasn't totally lazed off."

"Hey, watch your mouth talking about my mentor, jerk!" Zach argued. He noticed his comrades nodding in agreement. This made him smile from the inside.

"Ahem... one at a time. You, girl, come at me," Damien said, suppressing the urge to blow up.

~~~~~
"I'm sorry, guys. I'm just worried about the mission is all. That genet..." Cyber said. When he said the word "genet," he caught Amon in the distance reading at the palace's patio, which stood in front of the palace itself. The two caught each other's eyes, and Cyber turned his attention back to his men. Who does he think he is, just sitting there and not joining everyone in the training grounds? "He doesn't seem to be doing his part... shady guy. I don't mean to judge him, but do any of you two know his abilities by any chance?" Cyber asked Leyak and Roald. The truth of the matter was, even after a year of being cooped up with everyone present, Amon was seldom seen, preferring his room and inner conversations over get-togethers.
Kelly responding to the general slowly got up and came after him. This time instead of just trying to hit him she had paid more attention to his movements, she relied more on reaction rather then actions, dodging Dames attacks and countering them with a kick, although this was very effective strategics, it wasn't enough for Damien. He was too experienced to lose to a lowly fighter. But still he admired how she was using dodge and counter methods, as most fighters Kelly's and Zach's age were more impulsive relying on constant attacks and actions.
Kelly: *pants from a somewhat long duration of a training exercise*.
Damien: *did not say anything, but inside, he felt a little respect for this girl, having not expected her to put forth any strategic means of combat. If his assumption was correct, Kelly would go far earlier than her male companions. She was, after all, an easy trainee, a situation that Damien somewhat appreciated. He halted the girl and turned to Hans, who was drinking from a water hose. Damien, slightly repulsed, dragged the fox by his oddly-shaped ears and brought him over to the center of the group. "You're next."
-----
Roald: You'll be alright man, its just a little recon work right? It's not like you're going into a huge battle or anything with 'em.
Leyak: B..boss, you're the best person i've ever seen fight. you'll be fine!
-------
meanwhile Amon is reading his book and an unexpected visit occurs.
???: Ahh, reading up on your alchemy young genet?
"I was thirsty," Hans said, wiping the water off with his hand. When he saw that Damien forged no reply or reaction, he readied himself, hands clenched in front of him and countenance looking slightly determined if not nervous. Damien watched the boy as he eased into battle stance, which was, at the very least, correct. Upon giving the cue, Damien noticed that Hans had jumped backwards as if to separate the two. A long-ranged fighter or a coward? he asked himself, taking a step forward so as to close their gap. Hans repeated his same technique, hopping backwards whereas Damien came in closer. The same technique repeated for about three minutes until Damien started to show discontentment. "Stop," he ordered. "What are you doing?"
"I'm trying to get away from you. Isn't that what I'm supposed to?" Hans asked.
"That's not what you did a while ago."
Hans looked down. "Well, the thing is... I'm a long-distance fighter or whatever he calls it."
"I see," Damien comprehended. He started to think how a brawl with a long-ranged fighter would be impossible, but as he reflected on his previous years of being a general, Damien proved himself otherwise. With this realization, Damien reached for a dagger on the table, charged at Hans, and pinned him to the ground. "What are you going to do now? Think."
Met with the dagger pointed beneath his chin, Hans shook violently and began to stutter. "I-I don't know!" Damien gripped his shirt tightly and asked him again. Hans still could not come up with an answer and gulped. "Let me go, please."
"That's not what your enemy will do," Damien replied, lightly pressing the dagger against Hans's throat. As he demonstrated, Damien continued, "The enemy will show no mercy. This dagger will pierce through your skin and while you're crying for help, everyone around you will still be fighting for their own life. You'd be lucky if any of these three will come to your rescue." With that said, Damien eased the dagger off of Hans and lifted himself off of the fox, who, relieved, allowed himself to rest on the ground, unharmed.
"See that?" Damien asked the others. His eyes fixated mostly on Zach, who clenched his teeth from the inside. His gaze signaled that the fox harbored some hard feelings towards the porcupine, but he had to admit... Damien was right. They were all going to have to fight close-ranged if they were to survive, even if some of them were primarily long-ranged. Zach could not understand why and probably needed Lossal to clear it up, but if he was going to fight for the poverty-stricken people back in Ruby Kingdom, he was going to have to survive no matter what.
"Now that I've shown you all this, I want you to ponder just exactly why you're going through this. Think for yourselves for once, not Lossal. I'm sorry to say, but there will most definitely come a time when you will stare death in the face. You got yourselves into this... how are you going to get out?"
"We... go home?" Muddy asked, to which Zach felt shocked at his question. Zach turned his back to Damien for his answer.
"If that's what you want, be my Foreigner. The Ruby Kingdom could use a little more farmers and man servants."
"No, we are not going back to that pile of shit! We're standing here united!" Zach argued, standing up, still with a limp in his leg.
"We'll just see... your journey's only just begun," Damien concluded. "Go wash up and see if King Rey wants you. I'll be hiding out somewhere if you need me."
"How will we find you?" Muddy asked, but was coaxed by his comrades to head back to the palace. Zach stopped them half-way there and whispered, "I don't like that guy. His lessons are all wrong. Where's Lossal?"
~~~~~

The voice forced Amon to pause. Alchemy... He slowly closed the book and managed a calm countenance. Turning around to meet the figure for which the voice belonged to, Amon found, to his surprise, a orchid-colored albeit small, talking cat standing bipedal in mage's clothing on the wooden floor of the patio.

"Have we met?" Amon asked curiously, removing his reading glasses.

~~~~~
"Yeah, I'll do fine," Cyber reassured them. He looked up at the sky, judging that the sun was still present but starting to grow weak in its brightness. "Let's go inside. I'm beat."
On there way to King Rey, Lossal had came back from the ruby conference. and met them along the way.
Lossal: Hello my pupils. What has my fellow general taught you?
Hans: *he recalled the fight with Damien and rubbed his throat, gulping*
Muddy: Close fighting, I think. It seemed harsh though I don't want to call him out...
Lossal: Elaborate for me please. As your mentor its my job to know what you dont and do know. I must know all of what happened.
Zach: I'll tell you what happened. I ain't afraid of no middle-aged man stranglin' me for backtalkin' him.
*Zach told Lossal all of what went down with Damien and the gang*
Lossal: Ahhh, now you may say that his lesson was not true or useless. But believe you me. It's a great lesson to learn, especially for a long ranged fighter. But anyways, that lesson is of a more advanced part of training. But,with the situation we are given at hand. I will need to go through it more with you guys. We've been given a mission, Hammerhead has requested that you, my pupils undergo it alongside myself.
Zach: Yeah? What is it?
Lossal: Our spys have found one of the enemies hideouts. It's a seemingly small one within the Liam Forest. We're going to go there with a pair of unexpected allies
Zach: Zach: Two unexpected allies? Who?
Lossal: Why it's the same general with whom you just got done learning a lesson from. The other one... well i'm not sure It'll be any fun in telling you right now. I'll let you think on it. *smiles and chuckles* But anyways we need to feel in any misunderstood gaps about the lesson you learned from General Damien. Don't worry about what he may think or say. I want all questions answered about this.
Zach: WHAT?! Us five with that insensitive jerk?!
Hans: *gulped again, still saying nothing*
Zach: looks at Kelly and motions her to say something* Defend us! She hasn't said a word, old man Lossal.
Muddy: Maybe we should listen to Master Lossal. He could... help us overcome our fear.
Kelly: I.. I dont know what to say? I wouldn't mind being in a mission with General Damien. He's a great teacher like You master Lossal, we might learn something from this mission between the two generals Zach, even if it means standing with one you would rather care less for it'll be worth it to help save the poverty stricken people!
Lossal: *Sighs*, Muddy come here.
*Muddy approached Lossal*
Zach: *stared at Kelly in awe and disbelief, thinking how one could be team with that man and how his "allegiance" ciould help their cause. Then he remembered: Damien is a Ruby citizen, strange as it may. With this in mind, he watched Lossal and Muddy*
Lossal: *whispers to Muddy* Take this dagger, pin Zach to the ground, and threaten him with it. I want to see what he will do in this situation. Oh Yes, by the way Zach prepare yourself.
Muddy: *looks at the dagger and then Zach, trembling* I... can't do it, master. What if I accidentally kill him?
Zach: *prepared himself nonethless*Come on, Muddy. What are you, too much of a fatty? Oh wait, you're a fathead. A wussy fathead.
Muddy: *felt bitter by his words and, hesitatingly, pinned Zach down with the dagger still behind his back* Umm.
Lossal: *smiles saying to himself* I knew Zach would begin to insult him.... Muddy, do it now. don't worry about it.
Muddy: The dagger, master...
Zach: *is annoyed by Muddy's weak performance, gets him off* Too weak. How would I know what to do in that situation if it was mah friend? It's too easy!
Lossal: *sighs*, It pains me to admit it. But Zach you're right.
----
Ivan: Surely your kidding Your majesty?
King H: No, I will be joining them. I hope you will take care of things in my stead while i'm away.
Ivan: me? ... y.yes your majesty.
King H: It's been a while since i've been on the field, but nontheless they will need my help.
----
???: Why yes you do young genet. If you might recall I am the little creature that followed master Iria last year while you two were discussing over Kluya's journal and trying to find a specific spot to discuss it.
"You never know," Cyber spoke up. He was lingering on the fence post and had overheard Lossal and Zach's bit of the conversation. Everyone turned around to face him, having been unaware of his presence. Cyber continued, "Anyone could be your friend standing right here, right now and before you can even blink as you turn around...", he stretches out his natural hand and smacks it with his artificial one, "It's called betrayal in case you didn't know." He smiled softly, about to break into confession. "Happened to me once."
"And just who are you?" Zach questioned the bat-cyborg.
"Zach! Don't be rude," Kelly scolded. "I'm sorry, sir. He can be a handful sometimes. You said it happened to you one time?"
"Yes... but now's not the time to talk about it. I came here upon orders of King Rey to escort you all back to the palace. It's getting late as you can see," Cyber said, looking at the sunset in the sky.
~~~~~

Amon squinted at the cat, who now sat on his closed book. "Ay... I remember now, but you know what happens to memories. Some fade, others stay..." He chuckled slightly, amusing himself. On account of having almost slipped into Spanish, he suddenly reminisced the past. Shrugging it off, he looked at the little cat.

"So... Shady, was it? Why have you come?" he asked with his usual solemn look, safely tucking away his glasses.

Lossal: Ah... I remember you. You're Dame's friend. Since you may have already heard our lesson. Would you care to enlighten my rather talkative pupil here on how it's done?

Kelly: hmm? *oddly confused as what's going on*.

------

Shady: I've heard you're on a mission yes? with two of whom you do not know? Don't worry over it too much. After all. That team will definatly need you. You see. They may be smart, but they don't have your kind of smartness. I've heard you're going to be investigating one or two areas. If memory has served correct *yawns*.... it shall be Grandis Mountains and that large bandit camp that the elderly general had found last year. I believe the name of it was called ''Firebane: Tiamet'' I'm assuming they have more camps with a name such like that one. If you have any trouble during the mission. Iria has instructed me to give you this flute. *hands Amon the greenish flute with a rather odd aura of calmness embodied in it*. I haven't an idea what it does. But she's said to blow it when in a great danger.... Before I take my leave however, Is there any questions you need to ask me? I'll feel free to enlighten you on anything I might have knowledge of.

-----

Snow: Mac!

Mac: Hmm? Snow, we've been waiting for you all day. What is it?

C.I.: Yeah what chu need gurl?!

Dusty: *smacks C.I. in the head* shut up ''Hero'' cant you see this is personal?

C.I.: Oh man come on....

Snow: I wanted to say my farewells to you brother. Most of us will be leaving wont we?

Mac: Yes, I for one, wont be fortunate. I'll be stuck on guard duty.

Snow: I'd rather much be on guard duty rather then being on this mission....

Mac: cheer up, your probably going to be the strongest one in the group. Your magic surpasses fathers in terms of strength.

Snow: I...Your right brother. But I wont get arrogant about that. My magic might be stronger but he has a much wider array of spells and i'm sure can even control how the spell even plays out.

Mac: You're going to be alright. Here take this.

Snow: isn't this?

Mac: Yes, its my Pressure knife. The same one I use as a lucky charm as well as my Aura weapon.

Snow: B..but brother.

Mac: Take it. I'll be fine without it. Also, here take these maps with you as well.

Snow: What are these?

Mac: Maps of that bandit hideout from last year. If there's going to be any recon or scouting of that place. I want you to be the one to search it. But remember to exercise caution, okay?

Rurik: Princess Snow, it's nice to see you here.

Snow: Will do Mac, and hello to you too Rurik.

Snow: So, uh where will I be sleeping?

Luna: You can sleep in my bed with me, I don't mind!

"Well..." Cyber pondered, wanting to go back inside. With all eyes waiting on him, and Lossal's commands, Cyber gave in. "Okay, but just for a minute." He hadn't the slightest clue on what to do, having just arrived. He remembered what little of the conversation he had heard and went along with it. "So, betrayal..." he began, retrieving the dagger from Muddy and walking up to Zach slowly. He tried to formulate the emotion in words, but finding it difficult, explained it in as simple words as he could along with a demonstration, starting with circling around Zach. "Is where you feel happy to win the trust of your ally and to have them trust you back so that when the wrong time comes...," he leans into Zach a couple times to represent the luring in of a person and the temptation of betraying someone. "When he has you in his grip, he twists your finger around and I guess," he quickly pushed Zach against the wall of a nearby shed and pressing his body closely to the fox, aimed the dagger at his chest. "This happens."

The bat and the fox stared at each other for a moment, a swirl of emotions welling up in them, both of uncertainty and anger. Zach, on one hand, wondered if his friends would betray him, or worse, if he would betray them? He couldn't imagine doing such a thing, having known them all since childhood. This, Cyber, however, was a stranger, who could easily turn on him in a second if he wanted to. With a stranger pinning him to his death, Zach found it easier to grasp the concept. Cyber, on the other hand, felt fear. Fear for the mission tomorrow, fear for the princess's life and his own, and fear for letting Damien down. Sure, it was just a recon mission, but anything could happen. He had learned this in all his years with GEM. The artificial bits of his body, especially his arm, that he had to see, to deal with for the rest of his life reminded him that anything could happen, accidental or intentional.

"That'll be all for today," Lossal replied. "Let's get inside, my pupils."

The foxes nodded and Cyber, letting off of Zach, followed them all inside the palace to eat and rest up for the night.

Amon held the enchanted flute in his hands, examining it from all sides. The green glow absorbed into his magic-endowed gloves, giving off a serene feeling in his bosom. Even so, he decided he would need his glasses to check for any chips and such, but he would save it for later. The skeptic, he was. Can't totally trust supernatural circumstances, even though he was bound to one. For now, he conjured up any questions that seemed to be far-fetched in the back of his mind. "Well, for one, why are you helping me?" he asked, having previously recalled not asking for any help.

“I was instructed to do so by Iria. the questions however, is just within my nature to answer. I am a teacher back within the spirit world which is where I come from,” Shady replied.

“So, she's worried about me,“ he tittered, slightly amused by this assistance and, admittedly, touched. He reverted the topic back to the situation at hand. "Any notes in particular?"

Shady shook her head. “Nothing in particular. It's been alchemically set to be used only by you or Iria. It's her way of making it ''fool proof.” She's worried about you because she feels more in a comfort zone around you considering you are a fellow alchemist. Thus, she wishes to help you stay alive. From what I see, you two are very important keys in a set of keys to assist in unlocking the door of peace... Forgive me if I am rambling.”

“I see... well, thank you for clearing it up for me. Seeing as how I'm musically inclined, I should have no problem on using it... and no, forgive me for boasting,“ he thanked her. He felt rather uncomfortable by Shady's mention of any glory in store, especially for an alchemist. From his knowledge, alchemy was forbidden in Libra and Amon had no clue how the law operated here in Gemini. Remembering the location of the recon mission, he stopped Shady in her departure. “Wait... one more question.”

“Yes?”

Amon mustered as much as he could, but, on the edge of dread, his question turned into a statement much to his knowledge. “The recon mission… my allies… they’ll know, I fear.”

Shady breathed, gathering her words for a long assessment on his comrades. "That Snow girl... don't worry about her. She's seen Iria and you together. She already expects that you know how to use alchemy. If she would've turned you in, she would have last year. The other one, however... he, I do not know of, but don't worry. If they're to live, the three of you will have to put your differences aside and work together with all of your abilities. From what I've assessed, you will be the brains amongst the three. Snow is most likely the one who will dish out the damage. As for the cyborg, I believe he will end up being the 'shield' or something of that sort. This is Gemini. Alchemy isn't forbidden in this continent. In fact, it's where Iria learned alchemy to begin with."

Amon rested his hand on his heart, his nervousness slightly fading with the comforting assurance that Gemini permitted alchemy. With a bit of knowledge of his allies, he felt more mobilized for the mission coupled with a light review from the book he was reading as well as past year's training in seclusion. Seclusion was all he had ever known for a long time and now, he would feel more comfortable in his skin for as long as he lingered on this continent. His new allies, he trusted, would be welcome. He had also hoped, for the life of him, that the bat-cyborg would cooperate, as Shady had hoped for him, but Amon would only have to see for himself. "I thank you. I think that will be all for now. I must take my leave. Darkness falls," he concluded, glancing at the dusky night and the the moon with its salutations.

"Would you like me to tell Iria anything before I leave?" Shady asked finally.

"I... can't really think of anything more than thank you," Amon said.

"Very well. Safe travels," she concluded and disappeared in a flash. Once there was no trace of her, Amon went back inside the palace, just in time for dinner. He had placed the flute inside his bag along with his book and reading glasses.

The next day. Everyone whom is to be sent on there missions were called to the training grounds (as it was even larger then the town square in life palace) to be assigned there missions.

King Rey: Greetings every soldier. I am King Rey as you most likely have already known. As you all know today is where we send out our recons and scouts. To some of you, you may be very nervous for whatever reasons. Don't worry, it's only an information gathering job. The chances of any actual fighting are very very low. I know this for certain, I myself have been on numerous missions like these. But nevertheless always have your guards up! King Hammerhead, I shall hand this over to you now.

Cyber: So, the three of us. *he said to Amon and Snow while signing his name*

Amon: So it would seem. *signs his name*

Snow: S..stop signing.

*they looked at her* Cyber: What?

Snow: You see that place that has one blank? *points to the lone table with not a single person at it*.

Cyber: Yes, my lady. What about it?

Snow: I would like to go there.

Cyber: Sure. Let's go. *the trio tend to the lone table and Cyber picks up the paper to see the location*

Cyber: Adveni? Never heard of it.

Snow: I haven't either, which is why I want to be the one to go there... also my brother had maps.. maps of the area from last year when he and Lossal had came out of there.

Cyber: Hm... you don't suppose it was the camp of bandits who took that fox, was it?

Snow: I believe it is.

Cyber: Okay. Adveni, it is. *he and Amon sign their names there*

*Cyber goes over to the other table to scratch out the signatures*

Snow: *looks up in the sky thinking to self* ''It's going to be a while till we get back... right mom?''

Cyber: Well, we must be heading on now. You okay about this? *turning to Amon*

Amon: Indeed.

Snow: heading on... right, that means we have to head to the caravans. One will drop us off close to the area.

*they all go to the caravans*

Snow: Sir, can we get a ride to our mission area?

A dude: Yes. Right this way, Your Highness.

Snow: Well... you guys... if i'm going to be in a mission with you for who knows how long, I would like to at lest know what to call you by.

Cyber: Call me Cyber.

Amon: Amon.

Snow: Just call me Snow.

Cyber: Well, nice to meet you two. I'm hoping we can all get along and get to know one another much better this way.

Snow: ...*keeping to herself as she feels nervous being around the two*

----

Elsewhere

Lord Evo: Heheheh, Muirance. They're defiantly falling right into our hands. Once there scouts and recons leave, they'll have a significantly less amount of units guarding that castle.

Muirance: Then we set the attack... at sunset.If any messages happen to come lose not a single party of there scouts or recons will have enough time to get back before we leave... heheh.

Lord Evo: Biolor, come!

Lord Biolor: Yessss brother?

Lord Evo: Lead the attack. Shanta?

Lady Shanta: Hmm?

Lord Evo: After Biolor conquers the Life Palace. Send a false messager to Death Palace, with luck they will start sending soldiers to re-take life palace. That's when you take the Death Palace... with both the soldiers without there castles... there defensive forts. They'll be sitting ducks.

Muirance: And while your in that process the other necromancers and myself shall be having our minions fortify the borders between the continent and slaying off any remnant parties.

Lord Evo: *laughs evilly* They wont know what they seen coming.

Valder: My master shall definitely be most pleased *smirks*.

Marble Garden Act 1
It had been a few hours since each recon party boarded their respectful caravans. Snow, Cyber, and Amon unfortunately boarded a small caravan, in which the back seats were tightly together. They were each of slim to athletic build so fitting in proved nicely, with Snow and Cyber sitting beside one another on a wooden, properly sawed-down seat while Amon sat directly across from them. Two medium-sized, circular windows were framed on both sides of the caravan. Despite the size, they were able to pack up what necessities they could obtain and the caravan driver, Benyan was equally as nice.

The sun rested just above the biosphere as its noon rays shone down on the travelers. The caravan was halfway to the recon party's destination, Adveni when the trio had just finished their lunches, which were neatly packed in their bags, and were now sitting amongst themselves awkwardly. It was easier having something to do rather than look blankly at one another. Cyber, determined to succeed in his first mission without his lance corporals, sat up straight, preparing himself to befriend his allies.

"So...," he started, "Tell me more about yourselves. Since we'll be teaming up with one another, it's always nice to know what your companions are like." Amon said nothing, appearing to take in the sentiments of nature through the window.

"Well, I'd be glad to enlighten you about myself," Snow spoke up. "Where would you like me to start?"

Cyber pondered for a moment. "Well... actually, I've always been a little curious about the royal family. Forgive me if I sound uneducated in this area, coming from a military background, but what are their duties exactly?"

"Well, generally, most of us all work alongside our military. We don't like making soldiers do the work all for us so we get in on the action ourselves. I, at first, was quite scared to... then again, most people are scared when they first go into life-threatening situations, right? Well, my father, Ezra... he's the king as pretty much the whole world knows considering he united everyone in an era of peace. My mom, Casandra... she's, well, in a sickened or weakened state. She rarely comes out of the castle. She handles the sorting of paperwork for father. Those are my parents. My uncle, Thunderkeep, is the duke and handles things for Father in his stead when he's not present, but usually, Thunderkeep is off doing high level missions--he's a second-in-power only to father, it'd seem. Aunt Harp Sapphire used to be a strong sage during the war. After the war, she quit the military and opened a flower shop where she runs a calm life. Aunt Idrial is actually a knight. She's one of the strongest people I've ever seen. I have fought alongside her before. She has a special technique where she can somehow draw foes into her lance and pierce them all. It's a bloody but amazing move I've seen... Definitely a talented one... That's just the past generation... my fathers' siblings and wife. I have a brother and a sister. Mac is currently one of the strongest soldiers leading his own group of soldiers. He has a very high rating when it comes to getting things done the best way. My sister, Casandra Sapphire II is a healer. She stays at the castle with Mom most of the time and occasionally going out to get things." Concluding her family history, Snow looked at Amon. "Hmm."

"Interesting information," Cyber responded. "I am truly glad to be of service to one of the most prosperous kingdoms Centurion has ever seen." He noticed Snow glancing at Amon. "You're awfully quiet," Cyber alerted him.

"... Amon, was it?" Snow asked.

Amon continued staring out the window, but acknowledged their presence. "Yes," he replied, simply.

"... Would you care to speak with us?" she asked him, feeling awkward.

Amon turned to face them. "If it please you."

Cyber obliged to speak. "Tell me a bit about yourself. I hear you're from Emerald. Is that correct?"

"Indeed... I was recently recruited to the Holy Division," Amon said.

Snow was surprised. "Ahhh... I hear they're on missions in Capricorn right now," she said.

"So they are," Amon replied, sifting the leaves that were flying in through the window.

"Bumpy road, guys!" Benyan warned them, the caravan's fragile wheels enduring the scattered rocks and small mounds that obstructed the path.

"Would you rather have gone with them?" Cyber began again, watching him scoop the leaves out.

"I don't mind being here," Amon assured.

"I see. What kind of family do you come from since Snow was kind enough to share hers?"

"Noble class, essentially."

"Tell me more about this noble class of yours," Snow requested, interested in learning about a fellow nobleman.

"It's... rather complicated," Amon claimed, feeling uncomfortable to relay too much information at once. He wondered how this girl fostered no trouble in revealing herself... then again, she was the princess of the Sapphire Kingdom. Of course she felt obliged to share her content life as a royal.

"We're not exactly pressed for time here."

"Come on. How bad can it possibly be? It's a noble class for knight's sake!" Cyber shouted, chuckling lightheartedly. When he saw that Amon refused to ease up, he decided to share his own family history. "Hey, if you makes you feel better... I, well, never really had a family. My uncle's all I had. I was told my mother died shortly after I was born."

Snow added, "I grew up with a ''foster''family due to the war's intense effects. father wanted to keep Mac and myself safe from harm and sent us to a much more peaceful area."

Cyber looked at Snow, calling attention to her surprising confession. "I did not know that. Suits the king well to protect his family... I have to admit though," he reverted the conversation back to himself, "I was well provided for given my uncle's resources. At least I wasn't thrown out on the streets doing who knows what. I don't recall anything about my mother, but without her dying efforts to send me to my uncle, I probably wouldn't be here talking to you guys... "Well, I might be, but not as who I am today, I would imagine."

"Would you mind telling me more about this uncle of yours?" Snow inquired.

"I certainly would, but let's not leave him out, he looked at Amon, smiling, "Does that make you feel better?"

Amon pondered for a bit. Okay, so they had a bit of rough start; however, he still felt too much information would ruin the steadiness of companionship. On the contrary, his emotions wanted to divulge his family history so he would not feel alone, but reason and life experience barred him from making friends too quickly. He sighed, finally retreating. "I'm better at listening. Thank you."

"Hm... maybe some other time then," Cyber said. He peeked his head out the window and glanced at the sky, still bright as day. "Are we almost at our destination?" he called to Benyan, the driver.

"In an hour, sir," Benyan replied and out emerged a sudden laughter. "These horses are mighty lazy if I do say so myself."

"No need to rush. Take your time," Snow assured him.

The group had finally reached there destination near the camp. However due to the fact that the noise of the caravan would attract attention if they had gotten closer, they had to unpack there supplies, and some of the caravans supplies for there mission.

Snow: It's been a long ride *Stretches*. First of all, we will need to setup a camp spot. I've already got the rocks for it. Next we shall need the wood. I'll leave it to you two to work on that. I'm going to focus clearing the spot up and setting up the camp area. If it's okay with you two?

---

Meanwhile...

Rush: Guys.... Something feels strange.

Mac: So you've sensed it as well then... Get ready.

C.I.: GOT...got it!

Luna: Guys, we can't stay here!

Verata: She's right. There's more then just bandits here. I sense the undead are arriving along with the magic of necromancers and more then just one necromancer... We're outnumbered greatly.

Mac: ..... Rurik, Verata. Find a way out, Once you do we shall sneak out... get help and return.

Verata: What do you plan to do Mac?

Mac: We're going to fight back. C.I. get everyone's attention.

"Not a problem, my lady. We'll be back shortly," Cyber assured her. Taking his leave, he joined up with Amon, who had already started his search for wood. The two walked together in silence, stopping here and there to spread out fallen leaves and gather hidden stacks of wood. With every step they took, they tread deeper into the forest.

And Cyber grew more weary of Amon. The silence started Cyber, who, unfortunately could never accustom to the breeze while training as a private for GEM, and he still couldn't today. The usual company of Leyak and Roald was always lively and full of laughter and... truthfully thrilling, chaos. This partnership? Nothing. It left a homesick void in the bat-cyborg's heart, even if he did want to help his recon members and even befriend if he tried. Here, he tried once more, sighing deeply in preparation.

"Well, I think we have enough to last for the night," Cyber announced, counting the stacks of wood he and Amon had acquired and carried in their arms. As Cyber led the way back to the camp site where Snow might still be waiting, he asked, "So, you're knowledgeable in this kind of stuff?"

"Survival? Of course," Amon said, feeling a little surprised by his question. It was a typical nobleman's job to learn the basics of survival frontwards and backwards. Even if one wasn't to lead a squad into the woods, that person would still have to fend for himself if left alone. Surely, Snow knew how to handle herself, Amon thought, having noticed Cyber's worried look when they left Snow to her own responsibilities. Despite this talk of survival, Amon guessed Cyber didn't know he had a love for nature in general. Curiosity welled up in him to understand why exactly Cyber asked the question. "What are you, anyway?"

"A bat- ...cyborg," Cyber said, feeling ashamed by the reflection of his past.

"Well, I can see that. I mean your class."

"Well, look who's talking more!" Cyber exclaimed, chuckling. "Sorry. I'm a merchant's kid. Nephew, I mean."

"Forgive me, but how did a merchant enlist into the army? I always trusted it was us, noblemen."

"I think you've been sheltered for a long time! We've always been able to do this. Sapphire is a free kingdom! I guess Emerald doesn't operate the same... I've never traveled there, honestly."

A little piece of Amon's heart shrank at the word, "sheltered," which brought up past memories of what brought him to this point in time. He grew suddenly quiet for a while, but Cyber, who was now kicking small rocks to alleviate his boredom, didn't seem to mind as they moved halfway towards their rendezvous point. Amon wanted to tell him that he was, indeed, literally sheltered for some time, but reason convinced him to, once again, not reveal so much at one time. Maybe later, if he had the courage. The day was winding down.

As the genet and the bat-cyborg had reached the rendezvous point. They had noticed a change in the area. It was much more well camouflaged, there was sleeping tents which could easily be concealed due to the camo. Snow had shown she wasn't just a ''helpless'' princess that would just be in the way. There was also meat and fur, Snow had came back from hunting wildlife. Snow herself was in her own tent, waiting for the two to come back.

-----------

Lossal, Damien, King H, and Lossals students had finnaly reached there destination. But before they did what they intended to do. Lossal had to tell his students something.

Lossal: Zach, Hans. Stay in an ranged area. More so if possible try to get up into a tree and cover us. Kelly you will follow behind Dame, Muddy you shall follow behind me. Also don't get arrogant in your abilities Zach, it's the quickest way to death in a battle.

-----

As the fight in life palace was going on between the soldiers and the bandits and necromancers, the group had found there way out. Mac, Rush, and C.I. were fighting back to back close to each other. Dusty Argo and Luna were supporting King Rey's castle guards. Verata and Rurik had luckly found an exit under the walls of the castle. But it'd require swimming. They would take some time to get back to inform the group.

C.I.: *dodges a bandits sword slash* OH SEE DAT?! I JUST DODGED YO ATTACK MAN *uppercuts the bandit and knocks him out* YYYYYYYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH *runs up to another bandit and roundhouse kicks him* Y'ALL AINT GOT NOTHIN ON ME!!!!

Mac: *Striking continously at bandits using his sword dance style, he suddenly gets shot at by an arrow. It barely grazes him only a slight cut*. Dammit, there's too many. Someone needs to get there archers!

Rush: Leave it to me Nightfall!(Which was what Rush called Mac sometimes as a nickname. It's actually Macs middle name)

------

Luna: Dusty, watch out!

an unexpectingly large bandit had snuck up on Dusty and attempted to pierce her skin with his spear. But his attack had been blocked.

Dusty: *looking at the bandit and who had blocked then killed him, she was amazed at who it was.

???: Don't look at me, we must fend these evildoers off now!

Dusty: Y..yes your majesty!

-------

Meanwhile. In an unknown area.

Man in Black: My sisters are in trouble... I must go.

???: You must not go.

Man in Black: Maria, if I don't go they will not be able to fend for themselves, once they get out of there battle. They're strong. But there team is not big enough to survive out there. I must go and protect them at all costs.

Maria: I..I'm coming with you... They are my in laws after all.

Man in Black: Maria.... can you truly still be of use in the fields of war after last time?

Maria: Yes. anything for you.
