With the official reveal and a steady income of information just around the corner I decided it was high time to make an official topic about the remakes of Pokemon Ruby and Sapphire.![]() ![]() It has been announced by The Pokemon Company that new versions of Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire are to be released on the Nintendo 3DS this year. These games, Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire are coming November 2014 worldwide. The press release lists these games as a fresh take on Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire and states "The new titles promise to take players through a dramatic story within a spectacular new world.". The boxes feature Groudon & Kyogre, with some strange cosmetic alterations, and in Europe & Japan, the cases of the games come in Red and Blue respectively. Following its reveal yesterday, there has been some question as to the actual content of Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire, as to whether they're remakes or new versions due to the wording of the announcement. During the Investor Briefing today, Satoru Iwata confirmed that Pokemon Omega Ruby & Pokemon Alpha Sapphire are full-remakes of the 2002 releases, Pokemon Ruby & Sapphire. The Japanese arm of The Pokemon Company sent out an e-mail to all Daisuki Club members which ends up pointing out the differences to Groudon & Kyogre on the box-art, stating that they're showcasing "never before seen Pokemon", the same terminology they used for Black & White Kyurem, as well as Mega Mewtwo Y upon their reveal, indicating that they are more than stylised artwork of the Pokemon. It has been confirmed through a trailer on TV that Japanese variety show, Pokemon Get TV is to showcase world exclusive first footage of the upcoming games Pokemon Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire this weekend in the episode airing on Sunday May 11th at 07:30 JST. It's not known what the footage will contain. |

Wouldn't an official discussion just be fine for the Pokemon Center like before? But whatever~ CoroCoro though is going to have leaks this weekend (especially since the last couple years for Pokemon announcements, it has always been on the 11th and 12th of May) so there's a good chance we're going to see the designs of Brendan and May, assuming nothing changes. |

I guess it's fine to do it in a seperate thread for spoilers sake. I'm personally wondering if the Emerald content will be featured in this, much like HGSS having the Crystal content. I'm hoping yes. Loved the Emerald Battle Frontier. |

Japanese variety show, Pokemon Get☆TV has showcased the first ever Pokémon Omega Ruby and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire footage. This footage showcased Groudon in it. It then showed a similar piece with Kyogre and showcased animations as they activated their abilities. They then made reference to how different Groudon & Kyogre look compared to the box-art The next batch of CoroCoro information have been posted to Japanese forums. The first of which reveals the game, Omega Ruby & Alpha Sapphire. As expected, it doesn't show screenshots of the game but rather does what happened in Get TV last night and compares Groudon & Kyogre to the images on the package. The magazine promises that new content will come & be revealed in the issue next month, currently set for release on June 14th 2014 ![]() |

She said, as though this were a confirmed thing. You'd assume so because it's a complete remake. But we didn't have anything like it in X&Y so... I dunno. And that means they'd have to reintroduce the contest stats. Unless they do it a different way. I'd be alright with seeing them again, but I'm not going to look foward to them until we see something that suggests they're back in this game. |

Sonic and Raven! :3

I'm super stoked for this, as Gen 3 is my favorite gen from Pokemon! I'll be getting Omega Ruby as I love Groudon better than Kyogre, and I got Ruby back when it first came out. xD I can't wait to make a secret base again and be able to battle many new trainers in their secret bases. I remember back in the day I had 4 different secret bases in my game since I mixed records with friends and family. Gen three was the first gen I caught all the Pokemon in as well.

To be fair it wouldn't take much to take the Pokemon-Amie feature in X/Y, give it a little tweak and get it to work as a Contest option. Anyway, While there has been no official confirmation I cannot see them leaving them out, a lot of the fan base has been asking for there return and this would be the prime opportunity to do so. |

New stuff! Groudon and Kyogre box art pics are indeed their Mega Forms, we see the other Mega Hoenn starters as well as Mega Diancie, and we see the appearances of the trainers and Team Magma and Aqua. Oh and Steven's design too. All looking pretty sweet. Going to go Sceptile for Ruby, since I already have an overpowered Blaziken in X. Also it's Grass / Dragon. Aaaawesome. |

Surprise to see Diancie getting a Mega form, as an event Pokemon I thought she wouldn't be a priority for that. Also new Design for Brendan and May look alright but I really hope they have kept the customization options in. |

... What. You guys are silly. Brendan and May look adorable! Really show they live in the tropicalness of Hoenn better. Also, Serebii updated since I last post that link. Apparently Groudon and Kyogre's "Mega" forms are actually "Prehistoric" forms. That makes since since their change isn't as radical... but I wonder if this will mean anything different or it will basically be treated the same as Mega still. Gotta question the logic of giving Mega Sceptile the "Lightning Rod" ability as it's not like anyone would try to attack it with electric attacks anyway. But whatevers. Still rolling with it. |

I don't know where I'm going.
|
Maybe the Lightning Rod ability will be useful in Double Battles? I don't know. Gen 3 did bring that in the first place, so maybe there will be more of those. I don't know... As for those '"Prehistoric Forms", I have absolutely no idea what this will do. All I remember is that Team Aqua and Team Magma captured the two legendaries and tried to do SOMETHING with them, and I think in these games, they've finally done. The "Prehistoric Forms" are probably the final results of all those experiments they conducted at that time. Battle-wise, I don't know how it'll differ from Mega Evolution. These lack of current details are fun, but also frustrating. |
