Ice Cap Act 1

Hello everyone. I wanted to share an upcoming new game by Lake Feperd, the awesome game designer who also created Sonic Fan-Games such as Sonic Before the Sequel, Sonic After the Sequel, and Sonic Chrono Adventure. This one however, is his first original game, and is not a fan-game like his previous releases.![]() It's called "Spark The Electric Jester." Not much has been revealed yet about it, but from what has been shown, it will be a linear platformer similar to games such as Dynamite-Headdy, Pulseman, and Ristar. Lake Feperd mentioned that it is about a Jester-like character named Spark, who is out to save his city from the "AI Pet Computers," a series of commercially sold robots that have suddenly gone insane due to the work of an unknown threat hacking them, and Spark must find out who this threat is, while fighting his way through hordes of these crazed robots. The game is not yet finished, but Lake Feperd has released a gameplay video of stuff finished so far for it, a couple of screenshots, and has even started a Tumblr Page to show the work progress and such for it. Lake has not yet mentioned a release date, but he expects to release it around the end of this year, although considering the rate he works at, I bet that will be an easy deadline for him to meet. He also says that unlike his previous works, if everything goes well, this one will actually be sold, instead of being freeware like his older non-original fan-games. Here's a link to the tumblr page, where you can see more about Spark The Electric Jester and what is finished for it. Be sure to check it for updates. http://sparktej.tumblr.com/ And here's a link to the gameplay video of what he has done so far for it. I feel that this game is going to be really awesome from what has been shown so far in it. I have little doubt that this next project by Lake Feperd isn't going to be spectacular, for he has yet to disappoint. Edited by Shyna, May 7 2014, 05:40 AM.

Be sure to check me out on Deviant Art to see some of my various drawings and artworks. http://hexidextrous.deviantart.com/ Also, I would like to ask a favor from for anyone who is my friend here. If someday we meet in person in the near future, and I had recently done anything that would confirm that I had become a Brony (which as of now I am not one), such as if I had posted on a Pony-related fan-site, drawn a Pony-themed artwork, contributed to a Pony fanfic, or anything else along those lines. If I have done anything like that, I want you to punch me in the face without warning. This make sound like I'm joking, but I am absolutely serious about this. Ignore any future statements retracting this if I ever make any. Though if you do, please first confirm that it is me who is doing it, and not some Brony who is posing as me and wants to see me get punched. I do not wish to go down the path of the Bronies, and hopefully those of you reading this will help me so that it stays that way, if god forbid I ever even attempt it. Thank you. | |

I'm looking forwards to this! The idea of robots being hacked by a mysterious source will make the story more tense, and it could result in you fighting a big computer/robot type boss at the end. |

Oh right, I thought it would go in the regular games section, due to it not being a Sonic Fan-Game. In fact, it's an original game overall Thanks for correcting me though. I was personally thinking it might be some sort of insane genius that turned them evil in a way like Dr. Wily did to the Robot Masters in Megaman 10 or something. But that would be a good one too, an evil Central AI that's gone mad or something, like Skynet. We'll just have to see when it comes out. Lake Feperd also mentions that this will have new power-ups that Spark gains to get throughout. The first one that has been completely implemented is the "Triple Jump Scarf." He also says that there might be a second playable character, and a Time Attack Mode for the stages too. Also, check out this awesome upcoming Boss Fight in it.

Sonic and Raven! :3

I'll definitely have to give this game a go sometime when it's released. Lake has done such an amazing job with each of his Sonic fangames that when he announced over at Sonic Retro he'd be working on a game based around his own character I was stoked.

Actually, I believe you're right. As you have mentioned, A) it's not a fan-game. It's an original work and B) Lake Feperd is not a member here. I feel that rule mostly applies to members who are here and working on their own fan-games. Moved back. As for the game itself, looks interesting. I dig the momentum based projectile moves he was doing (jumping and firing down for extra distance, for example) and it looks like it should be fun. Just not sure if it's worth forking out cash for. I suppose that all depends on how much he intends to charge for it. I'll keep an eye on it. Still need to play Chrono Adventure at some point, too. |

More new stuff on Spark that Lake has done. This is looking even more awesome! First of all, another gameplay video, and apparently a sample of the custom music that will be in the game too. Also a background test video. ![]() A new character who will appear as both a Boss, and a Playable character. He's supposed to be a prototype of the A.I. Pet Computer Robots in this game, and is more humanoid than the others. I bet he'll be like for a "Dark Side Story" or something. ![]() ![]() ![]() ![]() Also, a new stage. This is going to be a desert stage with a lot of snowboarding moments. It reminds me in ways of the Sand Hill Stage from Sonic Adventure. Also, this is where that new robot guy will be first encountered. ![]() Concept Art of another power-up that is going to be implemented. It is called the "Card Master" power-up, and it allows Spark to toss electric cards at enemies. ![]() ![]() Finally, a couple other stage designs and such. Still looking so awesome! I especially like the new character that was revealed. Edited by Shyna, Jul 25 2014, 05:36 PM.
