I do want to confess. i make my own fancharacter. yeah ... please know that I am NOT orginal! (i wish i was) yes, my fancharacter is meant to look like that. shes half human half hedgehog. No shes not related to Sonic and Elise. She goes go with Sonic but shes not related to him or Elise haha. I dont have any plans for her parents because this character mostly goes on her own. heres a little profile: Name: Mi-hyun Nickname: Mei Age: 15 Gender: girl Species: half human, half hedgehog Height: 127cm top speed: 240km/h not very fast because... human special skills: shes fexible so she can use acrobatics hobbies: cook, clean, help Sonic fight, garden weakness: very shy, self concoius of her body, worries too much, inexperiance in being a hero, very snarky stuff people wont really care about: Mei is dating Sonic (mary sue?) but she wants the approval of everyone he know. Shes a good cook. Mei has a simple personality. A shy girl who loves to joke around but worried about what other people think. any thoughts on the list or the characters look? I worry she look too much like Amy

Posts: 3,252 Group: =SB= Kings Member #9,868 Joined: March 28, 2009	Firstly, Never give a fan character any connection to the official cast, It's always a big no-no and many people will frown on you for doing so. Next, Write a history/back story, This is the main thing that will draw people to your character and lets them get to know her better.

I agree with Blaire in that it makes your character original if they're association with Cannon character are minimal. Though there have been some out there (no here) that have done it and no one blinks an eye. It just really depends on how well and in-depth you can present the character. Get detailed. JUST saying! xD' lol Giving it a second read through, it does seem like her personality clahses in a sense that she's very shy, but loves to joke around? I don't know.

[Outrealm Vagabond] Posts: 4,994 Group: C Rank Legend Member #11,272 Joined: July 25, 2010	As a general rule linking your character directly to official cast members is frowned upon since it directly conflicts with the official canon. And people generally get bent out of sorts about that sort of thing. But by all means you're free to do it. I know I linked my main character to a pretty significant set of objects when I was younger. The usual way around this is to set your character up in an Alternate Universe (AU). An AU allows you to set your own canon that doesn't directly interfere with the official canon. And honestly, a lot of Fan Characters probably all exist within their own AUs. Not many folks are willing to admit that though. As for the other stuff, seems to be your standard girl stuff. Cooking is definitely a perfectly valid hobby. Some even go as far as to call it a passion. Cleaning is usually just a chore, but some do enjoy it. Gardening is also a hobby. Personality makes sense. The sort of person who loves joking around with those she's close to, but generally clams up around strangers since she's worried about making a bad impression, and thus is extremely self conscious. Picture looks good! Clothing does remind me a bit of Sonic CD Amy in colouration, but it's otherwise a nice outfit. All in all, flesh out her back story a little and expand on some of the things you've listed, like her cooking for instance. Something about her parents would be good too since people will probably want to know why she's half human and half hedgehog in the first place. Not bad. Not totally original (but then again what is nowadays), but certainly a decent character for what's there.

Im a little worry because I think she look to much like Amy Rose and my friends say she looks like Konata from Lucky Star :o more on her personality and erc: Mei gets intimidate easy by strong males. What I mean is males with strong personalties. With Sonic he has a strong personality. Hes confident and knows hes right and goes for his goal. Something she wishes she was. So.... there is a gag I do which is "Sonic is always right. When hes wrog your screwed".
