Marble Garden Act 1
|
I am compiling all of my characters into one thread since it is much easier to find while browsing through the massive heap of profiles. Characters are listed in order of conception. Right now, I only have Zach. Will update them as time progresses, but in the meantime, enjoy what's already there. Note: Do be aware that certain content in these profiles may not be suitable for people 13 and under. Furthermore, I try to be as indirect as I possibly can, but some things cannot be hidden as they are important to how the character is developed in a way ~ not only through humorous devices (mainly reserved for Zach), but also through literary symbolism and references. Read at your own discretion. Comments and constructive criticism are welcome! WARNING: Beware of long, detailed profiles. Basic Information: Name: Zachary Keith Vulpes. Name Meanings Alias: Zach. Age: 17 years old. Gender: Male. Species: Red Fox. Date of birth: June 6 (Gemini; season of summer). Place of birth: Emerald Hill, West Side Island. Current residence: Station Square, United Federation. Occupation: Zach works as a pizza deliverer at a pizza restaurant near the Burger Shop. He never discloses the name or arrives to his customers on time, but he makes just enough to purchase food to live off of - he is mid-lower class. Alignment: Chaotic Good. Physical Description: Image: - Normal appearance: Here and Here. - Aura's Lore appearance: N/A. - Human versions: Here and Here. - Credits: Drawings by me. Photographs from Smallville starring Eric Johnson as Whitney Fordman. Height: 4' 5" tall (130 cm). Weight: 95 pounds (43 kg). Appearance: - Coarse, deep orange fur. - White muzzle with droopy fur on the edges. - Light blue eyes; black eye edges. - Unkempt spiky, scarlet hair in back. - Two sliding bangs coming down to the side of eyes. - Small, black nose. - Large, triangular-perked ears; white ear inners. - One, large fluffy tail and white and black tail tip. - A small mole near the left side of his nose. - Tufts of fur on arms. - Somewhat of a "jelly belly". Attire: - Has a wide range of T-shirts with designs on them. - Light blue, cargo pants. - Simple, white house gloves. - Socks hidden underneath pants ends. - Black sneakers with red square in upper center and gray soles. - Wears a blue bandanna around neck. Personal Information: Personality: Zach is a cheerful fox with a knack for being social, unfortunately, to the point where he is being rude and obnoxious. Zach is a troublemaker who, whether with his friends or alone, stirs chaos and panic in the streets and at school, complete with pranks, most of them verbal. People sigh deeply when he barges in doors and windows unexpectedly or even when they see him. He is often considered a pervert to some degree, fervently peeking into the center of sensual jokes when given the opportunity. Although usually not serious about it, Zach can be seen in the school hallways flirting with girls he finds externally attractive. He is as unpredictable in his words as he is in his actions. An extrovert at heart, Zach has no problem speaking his mind and more often than not blows a situation way out of proportion with little to no consideration for most people's feelings. His moods fluctuate back and forth, making him out to be an airhead. Zach's loud and projected voice implies his demand to be heard, and this is even more so towards his thought-out albeit wacky plans against the government... for whatever reasons he has not formulated as of yet. Impulsive, he wants things done his way and his excitement often causes him to run ahead of his thinking process. His trouble-making methods ironically get him into trouble... and when he does, he is usually scolded temporarily, by his mother, addressing his full name. Consequently, his parents spoil him when they are around, causing his chaotic behavior as well as laziness at times. Zach is racist towards others, especially bears... but he is just jealous because they pack more punches than he does and their majestic size outweighs his own scrawny self. On the bright side, Zach is extremely optimistic. He is determined to set his beliefs about justice without rules and regulations in motion. He hates depression and tries to steer everyone clear of sorrow, hopelessness, and despair. He jokes around in an attempt to---he doesn't like to admit it--make someone's day. He is the entertainer, the stand-up comedian who tries, the self-proclaimed anarchist. Hobbies/Talents: TBA. Likes: Justice, gaming, anything comedy, hanging with friends, and the punk scene. Dislikes: Demands, onions, authorities (government and police), boredom/boring things, and not getting his way. Items: TBA. Vehicles: A red mo-ped for delivering pizzas. Trivia: - Lighthearted--high-pitched and squeaky in some areas--voice with a Southern accent. If Zach were to sing, his voice would fall under the range of a leggero tenor, or Tenor 1 in a choir ('cause really, this is just to give you an idea of what his voice sounds like for right now). Some audio of his perceived voice actor coming soon. - Is an atheist. - His favorite food is spaghetti with garlic bread whereas his favorite beverages are power drinks. - His favorite color is red, the color of Anarchy. Relationships: Family:
Close Friends:
Other Friends:
Romantic Interest: None. Rivals: None. Enemies: None. Battle Information: Skills: TBA. Techniques: TBA. Strengths (needs more clarification): - Swimming. - Rapid reflexes. - Can pack some punches. Weaknesses (needs more clarification): - Shallow breathing. - Not much combat experience. Weapons: He uses a simple but steel slingshot, which was given to him by Uncle Alec as a birthday present. As for ammunition, Zach may use anything from rocks on the ground to knives on the kitchen counter. Theme Song: Song: "The Meaning of Life" by The Offspring from Ixnay on the Hombre. Lyrics: On the way, Trying to get where I'd like to say. I'm always feeling steered away By someone trying to tell me What to say and do. I don't want it. I gotta go find my own way. I gotta go make my own mistakes. Sorry, man, for feeling, Feeling the way I do. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Open wide and they'll shove in Their meaning of life. Oh yeah, oh yeah. But not for me. I'll do it on my own. Oh yeah, oh yeah. Open wide and swallow their meaning of life. I can't make it work your way. Thanks, but no thanks. By the way, I know your path has been tried and so. It may seem like the way to go. Me, I'd rather be found Trying something new. And the bottom line In all of this seems to say, "There's no right and wrong way." Sorry if I don't feel like Living the way you do. Interpretation: Zach has a big hatred towards government and authorities, practically anything to do with rules and regulations. Having grown up without his parents around much has made him adjusted to the free life. He feels "steered away" by these sorts of figures and wants to make something of his life his own way. Being an atheist also accounts for the attitude he has, that he prefers not to be bogged down by religious denominations. Essentially, he wants to find his own "meaning of life". The song fits the character in that it is as upbeat as Zach's loud, but optimistic behavior. It is fast-paced, which is akin to that of Zach stirring chaos left and right as well as his quick tendency to feel bored and impatient. The singer, Dexter Holland, is classified as a tenor, which, as already stated in the trivia section, is what Zach is if he were to take up singing. Overall, the song seems rather fit for this rebellious teen and in the music video, everyone is taking a risk in doing whatever it is they're doing, not caring whether it is right or wrong. History: Zachary Keith Vulpes was born premature to Richard and Jamie Vulpes on June 6 at a small hospital in Emerald Hill, West Side Island. As a small child, Zach stuck his nose into everything from doorways that led to "adult" conversations to literally getting slammed into the furniture. The family lived quietly inside a hut next door to Uncle Alec and Aunt Marianne, who had just given birth to their son, Leon. Only two years apart, Zach and Leon would always wander around the village, playing hide and seek and even getting into mischief. One dare after another led them to walk up close to the abandoned mines that lay in a remote area near the town in tall grass. They would take one step further and two steps back until they could touch the mines with their fingertips before getting snatched up into their parents' arms and getting spanked. It was all worth it though, as Zach and Leon had become not only cousins but close friends during their childhood years. On a hot summer day just after his fifth birthday, Zach's parents had gotten a call from the United Federation agency, who was looking to hire an archaeologist for their upcoming excavation in the Mystic Ruins as well as a news reporter since their last one had been arrested for possessing marijuana in the trunk of his car with his cat chewing up the bag. Zach's father, Richard—everyone called him Ray—accepted his position, overjoyed with the fact that he would finally be pursuing his dream job since digging into caves as a child himself. Zach's mother, Jamie was concerned of the drug situation regarding the reporter and inquired about such a government in the nation because in West Side Island, there was no government. It was a free-for-all island in the middle of nowhere. Rest assured, everything was going smoothly, and when she accepted the job, the whole family was forced to move to the United Federation by way of one of the nation's airplanes, leaving Uncle Alec and his family behind. A new life had awaited the Vulpes family, complete with advanced technology, new faces, and more importantly, an introduction to federal authority. Being on the airplane gave the family a huge culture shock, as West Side Island was based mostly on agriculture and basic means of technology and communication. Inside the airplane, people from all over the world, including GUN soldiers from the UF, gathered around, looking to visit or to settle down in the nation. Sitting beside his mother, Zach had a strong tendency to jerk his head around and stare at all the strangers, wriggling his seat-belt so that he could run up and touch them. His mother restrained him throughout the whole ride and being uneasy of heights herself, had to vomit in paper bags with concerned Ray looking from across the aircraft—it was much too crowded for him to join them. Witnessing Zach's loud groans to break free caused Ray to believe the fox had developed ADD overnight and after a while of intolerance for the screaming kid, he was equipped with taking him to the bathroom and touch everything in it. “Restless kid...” he thought, gripping Zach's hand and returning him to Jamie. “I don't know what to do about him. When are we landin'?” Jamie spoke up, clasping Zach back into his chair. “They're fixin' to land in just an hour or so. Soon, we'll be lookin' to buy a new house and everything, y'all,” Ray replied, smiling at his wife and child before returning to his seat. In three hours, the airplane had landed and everyone had exited the airport, one person after another. Indeed there was a lot of sight-seeing to be had for the Vulpes family as they made their way through the UF. They eventually settled in Station Square, which they had been told was reduced to a shack town after a water blob had destroyed it whole, but a trailer park on the outskirts of the town was all they could afford. In one of the trailers, they settled in and off the parents went to attend their jobs. As a toddler, Zach was unaware of politics and instead stirred his way through elementary school, picking up a couple of friends along the way: Hanson Lewis at age 6 and Muddy Greens at age 8. As the trio progressed through their education, coupled with the pangs of puberty and girls, they became more aware of the world around them; and it was especially so for Zach. Yes, things were going fine for Zach, but as his parents' jobs demanded more away-time from home, Zach was often by himself, fixing his own breakfast and doing his own homework. No doubt were there some times where the increasingly bored, but lonely fox asked himself, "Will I ever get to spend time with my parents again?" Of course, being the happy-go-lucky type that he was, Zach substituted orphan-like tendencies for opportunities to socialize with his friends, naturally preferring the optimistic outlook on life. Fortunately for him, he was not totally and seemingly neglected by family members as Uncle Alec and his family moved to the UF soon after the Vulpes family. Every summer, he spent--and still does spend--time with Alec and Leon in a remote cabin in some woods, sometimes learning to hunt as well as listen to the ol' drunkard talk about his crazy superstitions and beliefs that he can predict the weather. As Leon put it, the death of Marianne-- she died shortly after the move from West Side Island to the UF in a car accident--"really rubbed him the wrong way." As time went on, Zach started to notice more changes for the worst in his community. Living in a trailer park, he began to see more and more houses around him become run-down and people living in poverty. Without even thinking, Zach blamed the government for the poverty, claiming that they were "not pitching in" to help their people with their lives and instead, just sit idly. From that moment, Zach shed his normal clothing for the punk scene, sporting spiked hair and the infamous anarchy sign. Together with Hans and Muddy, Zach pursued the goal of a fair to no government at all and that everyone should do whatever they please. The crew still goes on to this day.
