Also several other news but I'll squeeze that for another topic if someone wants to make it, regarding the CGI film and animated series. It looks like Sonic is going to be much more active again. Surprised that nobody beat me to posting this. Quote: Toy maker Jazwares revealed at the Nuremberg toy fair that Sega is busy developing a brand new Sonic game for Xbox One, PlayStation 4 and Wii U for 2015. Sega still has a Sonic game in production for Nintendo platforms, so it’s unknown at this point whether the exclusivity still holds. Well. At least they kept with the trend. I certainly was not expecting this. At least the others get a playable role this time. Not sure if it's the same thing either, but we'll see. So Sonic's arms turned blue and Knuckles is on sterioids and has fingers. I like Amy and Tails' design though. It's said that the whole franchise is getting a redesign. This is supposed to be a reboot, after all. Gameplay looks fine though, character models look... awful. 2014: The Year of Sonic, it's happening.

Knuckles is different but not bad. Sonic looks badass with that tape. (In that link is Sega's official explanation in the blog post. Honestly has me excited. This might be the most excited I been for a Sonic game in a while). Also, apparently I read the people handling this instead of Sonic team are the ones who developed Sly 4? Should be exciting then. But hrm... should I rename this topic to Sonic Boom then? It's definitely the third exclusive Sonic / Nintendo exclusive game. Not sure if it's related to this or that poster really is a slip-up that's not true at all.

You can rename it if you want, though I'd wait to there's more info out. Might just be a TV show/game combination, and a 'real' next gen game will be announced soon? And multiple playable characters definitely confirmed. I'm actually really excited for this. Sure been a while. @Mellow: It's the third Nintendo exclusive Sonic game so no PS4. I'll rename the topic after more details come.

Looks Awesome! Go back one page~ Color me surprised, I'm loving it so far. My bet on why they changed Knuckles, is because they wanted to make him seem stronger. Knuckles has always been the tough character but never had a body type that made him any different from Tails or Sonic. They also gave him fingers. Eggman is also thinner and Sonic has a much friendlier look. Possibly to be more 'childfriendly'. Sonic Boom is not canon! Edited by Pianta, Feb 6 2014, 12:37 PM.

As for the new designs? Why did they give Knuckles fingers? That was dumb. I'm ok with them but this reminds me of when they changed Crash Bandicoot's design to be "cooler"...
