If the RP launches, I'll type up a full beginning. Until then, I'll provide the jist of the RP. The world is set in a somewhat mirror image of the internet. Forums are divided into different cafes, shops, and hangouts. Fancharacters live out there regular lives here. Of course, the city that this RP is set in serves as the home for people's fancharacters of all kind. So they'll be interesting characters all around. However, the story revolves around one character who will simply be named "The One" for majority/all of the RP. The One is essentially an "overpowered fancharacter" that's slipped through the cracks of the moderated realm and rises against the world. He can overpower your will to enslave your mind or others can choose to follow him willingly. His main goal is to spread his influence across the globe. Those under his control have a glowing red symbol on their hand and a small but noticeable red hue in their eyes. Corrupted individuals maintain their intelligence, personality, and memories. They're minds are mainly reconfigured to operate for The One. Corrupted spirits are able to identify friends and loved ones but are unable to resist fighting. The One or corrupted individuals wear down opponents and will not attempt to kill others. Both parties can generate spatial voids, where they become "re-programmed" to act on The One's behalf. The One's voids are larger in size, capable of absorbing large numbers. He often spawns these across cities to increase his army. The Follower's voids can absorb one to two people at most. Voids appear to be a large ball of dark energy and space that sucks anything near it in. Voids disappear after a short period of time, whether it's absorbed a target or not. The One will make several encounters with the RP group. His personality is alluring and intriguing. His madness is what keeps him calm and influencing. However, he's absolutely arrogant and will refer to himself as The One in numerous scenarios. Using his hubris will be key to stopping him. His eyes generally see all, and can generate illusions in battle, as well as outclassing every opponent. He's mainly seen as a black figure with a red glow on his chest. The One mainly stays out of arm's reach of others. Cities become desolate and wasteland-ish after The One is finished kidnapping it's inhabitants as he moves around. You can have as many or cycle through as many fan characters as you want. I may have original characters cameo throughout the RP but it depends on what route it goes. Main enemies will be The One's slaves, who receive a power increase being under his influence. This also provides motivation to switch to his alliance. The RP group will start off in the main city when the first attack starts. You can choose to be doing your own thing or even start off in the "Sonic Blast Cafe." Your choice. This is just a basic layout to get things started off. Once we establish a good enough base, I'll type up a full plot and rules. So, anyone interested? Discuss. |

I like this idea. It's a pretty good idea, but it doesn't allow for a lot of flexibility. This seems more like a story that's practically already written. Could you decide what happens based on how the characters interact in the story? |

All I'm gonna say is that it's an interesting idea. If this takes off, I'll probably want to characterize myself as a refugee from one of the destroyed 'cities'. |

The RP group's efforts decide whether towns or cities end up destroyed or not. Also, you can save citizens from being corrupted as well. The RP group will be one group of other resistances that'll be met between battlegrounds. Share what you think our interactions should influence. |

Yes, that's good and all, but I was thinking more along the lines of letting the characters be a little more dynamic in plot. Say, for instance, one changes allegiances and wants to work with "The One" to make things easier on themselves. what then? What I'm saying is that since you seem to have almost the entire story planned out, you might as well post it in the =SB= library. This can be so amazing, all it needs is a little flexibility. One can switch sides to the The One whenever he wants by turning and attacking the resistance or by allowing himself to be taken. That's an open concept and one I thought of but didn't outline well enough. You can be turned by his words or just the desire for more power. I was also thinking of having "Moderators" to serve as police and "Administrators" to serve as Commanders for the city. The One then uses this concept for his army and these individuals would have more power than the others and be identified in a different way. |

Well then, here's something: What's this One guy after? He's already OP, he can do whatever he whants without much consequence, am I right? What if there's something that even he can't get? Every super villain needs a reason to be evil, otherwise he doesn't have much to stand on. |

Well, if it's internet cyber-esque, how about for appoval? We've all had those days when someone makes an OP character and everyone else just rejects the idea and pretty much trashes the maker. Since no one accepted him, the world accepts his fury kinda deal. ((Iactuallyjustthoughtthatup.)) |

For approval? That sounds like a pretty good idea. I can't think of any arguments about it except for what he thinks this evil plan gets him. |

Oh. Acknowledgement. Recognition of the fact that like it or not, he exists, dammit. (Kinda like Terumi from BlazBlue now I think about it; someone's got to acknowledge his existence or he fades away, and he guarantees it by making people just HATE him.) |

As to where he'll control the world and simply force others to accept him solely out of arrogance and spite. He also views himself and his influence a lot higher than everyone else. |

I'll probably use my usual duo of Rad and Alec, maybe Amber a little later to tug at some heart strings. I'll also want to use my OC Leon later down the line if I decide to have my characters turn or not. But at least the RP has some attention. ------------- I just thought of something else as well. The Voids can only appear in open space, not in an area where something exists. So is small spaces, they can't be spawned. They also can't be opened on a person as well.
