Trail 1: Fight Within - Challenge 1: Dark Version "Welcome to Trail One." A masked voice speaks into the surrounding darkness. Nothing can be seen, save for your very own hands in front of you. A light fog floats aimlessly, going nowhere and forming from nothingness. "These next challenges will test your inner strength. Most do not pass the first Trail because they simply do not know whom they truly are, what monstrous demons they hide, what evil beings they lock away within themselves." The sound of footsteps could be heard, slow, very slow, and steady are their pace as each step echoes all around you. "You can not hide yourself here. Your very core is exposed, your very soul is open. Your first challenge is yourself. Face your own evil, or let it destroy. You know what is at stake should you fail. Now, face your darkness..." ((Make your intro post, which can be as elaborate as you wish, from how you ended up in these trails or simply just unaware. Either way, after your intro post and your response to the speaker, the challenge will begin.)) |

The fog seemed to stop the very air he breathed. At the same time, it was as if everything was agaist him and nothing was there for him. This loneliness, this empty feeling inside, could only remind him of the monster inside of himself. Ezekial considered the words of the mysterious voice. "You can not hide yourself here. Your very core is exposed, your very soul is open." Does this mean he can see what I am? he thought to himself. He never enjoyed considering the fact that he was nothing but a demon, but the question always seemed to arise one way or another. This voice posed no exception. "Face your own evil, or let it destroy you." The wolf stood where he was, staring unflinchingly through the fog. "I accept your challenge." "Now, face your darkness..." |

The footsteps continued to grow in volume, as well as its pace sped up. Soon, through the light fog came forth a wolf, an all white wolf with Ezekial's exact attire. In fact, this wolf was Ezekial. The only difference was that his fur was white, his cloths were torn and shredded, and a large black scare streamed down the side of his face. His eyes were haunting, let alone his evil-like stare. He stood several feet from his opposite, not saying a single word as he blankly stared... Finally, he spoke. "Demon... That is what I am, that is what you are. Yet you refuse to accept this... You parade around as if you're some hero, a savior, a warrior of light yet your very core is fueled with dark essences..." He paused for a moment, tilted his head, then cracked it as he jerked it quickly to the other side. Once he positioned his head upright he balled up his fists as fire began to slowly surround them. He waited for a reply or a comment as the flames slowly grew in size. |

Ezekial stumbled back in shock. This... this whatever it was, it looked exactly like him! Ezekial easily recognized his figure facing him through the fog. Whatever it was, it was here for him. Its eyes pierced the fog sharper than anything else, despite the almost mirrored appearance. The thing's lips moved, but it was his voice that he was hearing. "Demon..." His ears snapped to attention at the word. "This is what I am, that is who you are, yet you refuse to accept this." "I refuse it because-" Ezekial tried to speak, but the white wolf carried on without him. "You parade around as if you're some hero, a savior, a warrior of light, yet your very core is fueled with dark essences..." "You... you..." Ezekial was at a lost for words. Who told him this, who was he, why did he look exactly like him? Then, he remembered: They simply do not know who they truly are... It was impossible, there must be some other- You cannot hide yourself here... face your own evil It can't be! Was it- "You're not me!" Ezekial exclaimed in anger. His fists flared with the familiar blue flame of his aura, shining even brighter with emotion. Who was he to decide who someone else was, who was he to claim something so crazy, so, disturbing, so... That was it! It must have been one of Sethayameth's illusions! This thing must be nothing more than a figment of his (or Sethayameth's) imagination! Ezekial smiled at the thought. "I bet you're nothing but an image trying to pull me down." he pulled back his fist as he said this, and the air grew cold. "You aren't REAL!" With that final word, his fist rocketed towards the illusion's face. |

The sound of his fist connecting to the white wolf's jaw echoed as the wolf stumbled back about two steps. His head was turned while lowered, hiding his eyes as the cold burn on his cheek smoked. He slowly turned his head to face his attacker. He didn't yelp or grunt in pain, he didn't even wince, he simply stared as his eyes locked onto his opponent's eyes. "I am very much real. I am far more real than your fake facade of being something you are not, which is anything else than a demon." He paused for a moment, taking this time to point to Ezekial's fist he just used to punch him. "You are correct, however. I am not you... But I am who you truly are within... I am who you will truly become." His finger was pointing at Ezekial's fist, which was now white much like the white wolf's fur. "The more you strike me, the more you will become me. The more you refuse to defend yourself, the more I will kill you to force the demon part of you out... Either way, you will become me. You will become the demon you truly are..." With that said his hands formed black flames, much like Ezekial's blue flames. Surely they would produce the same affects, as the temper around him started to drop, turning the fire around them blue. The fire made a complete circle, as if encasing Ezekial in a fighting ring with this white version of himself. Suddenly he leaped forward and lashed out a roundhouse kick towards Ezekial, aiming for the side of his head. |

Ezekial stepped backwards as the other Ezekial failed to react to his attack. "You are correct. I am not you... but I am who you truly are within... " He took the moment to point towards Ezekial's fist. Ezekial looked down, and his eyes widened in horror. His own hands were fading to white, exactly the color of the white wolf's fur. His hand started to shake. Was he really going to become that... thing? Emotions flooded through him, making him feel- His thoughts were cut short as a brutal roundhouse kick connected with the side of his head. He landed with a thud at the edge of the ring of flames, his focus back on his enemy. It was plain to see that his attacks would do no good, so he would have to figure out another way to win. He rose to his feet, facing his foe, with the determination to win now flooding his thoughts. "I can win this..." |

"Win..." The white wolf spoke as he slid his feet into an awkward fighting stance, one that wouldn't match his opposite. "You see this as some form a game I take it. You can not simply 'win' if you wish to survive. If winning is your only goal then you've already lost." With that said the white wolf tightened his fists as he paused for a moment. He quickly sprang into a hurried sprint. Instead of running towards his opponent he started to run away from him. He headed towards the ring of fire and suddenly vanished within it. All was silent as the white wolf disappeared into the flames. Suddenly he drops down from above, nearly out of thin air, racing towards his foe as he charged his fist with a green flame surging around it. Even if Ezekial fails to move out of the way in time, he wasn't intending to strike the wolf, but completely miss him on purpose. |

"You're right," The grey wolf claimed, "This isn't a game at all. All I meant it that here was the goal I had to focus on. Everything else comes afterward." Yeah, he thought to himself, Maybe I was thinking about this the wrong way. With everything about me being a demon, Ezekial thought to himself. He looked down at his fist. It was stained white like the fur of his double. Maybe I'm not really thinking this through Ezekial watched as his opponent vanished through the fog. He might not be visible, but he was still there. "This might not be a game to you," Ezekial replied, "But I see something here that I have to finish, and I can't do that..." The double rocketed downwards towards the wolf. "Until..." Ezekial stepped out of the way, the green fist searing his head. "I face..." His right bent back, blazing with the rage of his aura. "YOU!" His hand came down with brutal force towards his copy's head as he tried to force it down to the ground. He was going to try and pin it to the groung with his own strength. |

Once again the white wolf did nothing, allowing for Ezekial to pound his head into the nothingness that was floor. A loud boom echoed from the force of the impact. Still, the wolf didn't yelp or even grunt. No emotion carried out of him, only a odd and demon-looking stare. He simply laid there, blood seeping from the wound he got when his head slammed against the transparent floor. "By the time you end me, you'll become me." He informs the Ezekial. The white fur now spread to Ezekial's arm, stopping right under his elbow. Also, should Ezekial pay attention to detail, this white wolf didn't have the burn mark on his cheek when Ezekial landed his first punch on him. This could mean that the white wolf healed himself, or this is a completely different one. Which draws the next question, how many 'demon-selves' will Ezekial have to face in order to conqueror the demon within himself. |

Ezekial threw the copy away from him, but he could already see the white fur creeping under his jacket. He should have seen by now that attacking head on, or even at all was useless. There was something strange going on here, Ezekial thought to himself. Looking up, he noticed that the white wolf's face was no longer burned, even though it had barely been two minutes since he had made that mark. Either the copy could heal itself, or... Of course, it was so obvious! He should have noticed it when the white wolf backed away in to the fog! There was no way it could have gotten above him so quickly! There must be more hiding in the fog! If that was true, then how many more copies could be hiding behind the fog? Ezekial tensed as he realized that he was probably surrounded by copies. There were all kinds of questions to ask, like Why only one at a time? or Who made them all? but all he knew was that it was someone who created this scenario just for him, someone who wanted him to believe that he was becoming a demon. Speaking of demon, there was still the matter of the copy he was facing right now. He felt infinitely more at ease now that it seemef@d like it wasn't him. He turned to the white wolf, letting his blue flames extinguish. "You said that you're what I can become," he said calmly, "But that's impossible! Maybe I am a demon, but that doesn't mean you are too." His gaze shifted to the fog around them. "Just how many more are hiding away in this fog?" |

Two more wolves came forward from the foggy mist, one with the burn mark on his face, and the other much different than the other two. This third wolf looked more like Ezekial because his fur wasn't white, but black instead. His cloths were still torn and shredded. As well, his fur seemed to spike up verses just being smooth and well kept. His eyes were a red glowing color, demon-like eyes if you will. "There are three of us." The black wolf, seemingly the leader, spoke as he took a few steps towards Ezekial. "Convince me that you're more than these demons, and I'll release you from this trial." He slowly lifted up his hand and pulled his sleeve down, showing that his hand and arm was also white, much like Ezekial's hand and arm. "Should we both become demons, then you'll surely be consumed, and eventually die." With that said he slowly and calmly walked towards Ezekial, giving no sign that he was going to attack. He slowly reached out his hand before he reached the wolf, to also show he wouldn't harm him. Should Ezekial trust this wolf and his motives, the black wolf would simply grab his arm, which would return fur on his arm back to black, yet keep his hand white. This would tell Ezekial that they both can rid each other of the 'demon-infection' should they simply come in contact with another. Of course, there was more he would have to explain, as these trails wouldn't be so easy to overcome. |

Ezekial could see that the black wolf was different from the others. He had an intelligence that went further than just taunting him; it was likely that he was in charge. That made Ezekial even less inclined to trust him. Yet, despite that, he seemed to be the only one who could let him know what was going on. For now, the only option was to trust him. "Fine then," Ezekial consented, reaching for the plack wolf's hand. "I'll show you that I'm nothing like- Hey!" He exclaimed as his wrist was grabbed. He was about to pull back when he noticed the black wolf's fur. His arm had changed back from white to black as soon as he had made contact with Ezekial's arm. Ezekial realized that that was all he needed to do, or so it seemed. He reached out for the other's arm. |

The wolf quickly leaped back, which triggered the others to advance forward and block Ezekial from reaching the leader. He shook his head no as he spoke. "I believe you understand now. But there is one problem you face... Can you reach me in order to free yourself of this curse. Or will you let it consume you enough in your eagerness to rid the demon within you." He asked as he crossed his arms and waited for a reply. As he did so the other two set themselves on both sides of Ezekial, waiting for the right moment to attack it seems. "Now the true test begins." He adds, to which the other two growled lowly, and soon started to rise as their eyes glowed with fury. One of them took off in a full sprint, reaching its arm back and igniting his fist in order to slam it into Ezekial's right arm. The other didn't move and waited as the leader was slowly moving away from Ezekial, as if playing some sick twisted game of hide and seek. |
