Launch Base Act 1
This came out yesterday I believe on Nintendo 3DS, has anyone else downloaded it yet? For anyone who doesn't know, its the original Sonic the Hedgehog, but now with 3D effects! There's also some added bonus options, such as the spin dash! I bought it and beat it last night, sometimes I found myself not noticing the 3D effect all the time (and I had the 3D depth slide at max) but there are some zones like Star Light where it is really prominent. Its just great to have one of my favorite classics on the go now. I really hope they do this for Sonic 2 and 3, that would make my life :)

The first game is one I have played so much that I practically know all its secrets, I need this for the 3ds

Well colour me intrigued I was watching a guy play this on the train on the 3DS and whilst I dislike 3D, I actually thought the game looked so pretty in 3D. They did something right for once. Yay!

I only wish that this wasn't the 800th time we got Sonic 1. I would be happier with a more obscure Sonic title, like Knuckles Chaotix
Gonna dropkick it.

They also have other Sega classics in 3D now, Altered Beast and two others that I can't remember right now :P But they're in the Sega 3D section on eShop's main page :)

unfortunately I can't get it right now, I need all of my paycheck tomorrow to get a new pc, my current laptop has a broken screen and I have to get by with using its burnt out VGA port, so everything randomly turns red or green at times

You know what it's like though BLOPS they settle on a game that is "safe" that people know the formula to and won't question it too much. Sonic 1 fits the bill and if they cock it up, they shrug their soldiers and say "We can do better next time!".

I'm not entirely sure if I want the game tbh. Not because Sonic 1 has been re-released a bunch of times but a member at Sonic Retro reported that sometimes different objects dissappear, not only that but the spin dash doesn't destroy monitors. That's what he said anyways, but if the last one is true that means they didn't port the Spin Dash from Sonic Jam fully. I'm actually shocked that they used the source code from Sonic Jam as opposed to looking on Sonic Retro for the code straight out of a Sonic 2 disassembly included with a complete guide on how to fully port the spin dash. I guess they just didn't have any time as they said in a interview that they were already pushing towards the release date while having issues adding the move to Sonic 1. But that makes me a bit disappointed, if it is true. Many hackers have easily ported the move from Sonic 2 to Sonic 1 but meh. Did anyone else have any issues with the spin dash though?

But even then, there are many other games similar that haven't been ported to death. Sonic 3 and Knuckles comes to my mind.
Gonna dropkick it.

I would love to see Sonic 3K get ported, but there's so many legal issues based around the music that it'll probably never get a re-release. :\ Just recently we found out that a unreleased song by the Jetzons is Ice Cap Zone Act 1's music, so I don't know if Sega could get the rights to even have that track in the game. If anything, they might have to change the music again which honestly if that was to happen, I wouldn't want a re-release. Ice Cap Zone Act 1 has the best song in the game, and that got changed in the PC version alongside my second favorite track the Competition menu music and needless to say I stay away from that version because of it.

Would they not be allowed to remix the Sonic 3K soundtrack so that they don't have to suffer the wrath of lawyers and such like though?

I don't know, given my knowledge of law isn't music/copyright based. I think some REALLY good remixes wouldn't put me off the game altogether, but if it had a really forgettable (looking at you Sonic 4 on Steam) or the remixes were poor I would probably not invest in the game...

I had no idea lawsuits over music was even an issue for S3&K..that's a shame, because that's really the Sonic game I want to see done the most!
