A strange thing that happened to me was being woken up around 6am by someone hammering on our front door. I answered it and there was this very very angry looking skinny gentleman at the door. He immediately demanded that I return his door handle to him and if I do, he won't call the police. Now, I may be several things, but a door-handle thief is not one of them. I stood there mutely for a moment just digesting this new information before he demanded again. I of course said I knew nothing about it and asked him to eave. He would not leave so I called the police. Police came along just seconds after he finally stormed off. I told them what had happened so they drove around quickly and managed to spot him and have a word. Now would you believe this? Someone genuinely stole the mans door handle, unscrewed it and everything.
