Yeah I just found out today. I must say, considering everything I heard about it prior, I was not expecting that art direction. I must say I approve.*Goes into my minecraft castle and recoil the draw bridge*.

That aside, should be interesting.

Huh, Knuckles got new gloves I see. And he's been hitting the gym. And is it just me, or does it look like Sonic's wearing a jacket?

Eh I don't like how odd Knux's silhouette looks and I don't like CG shows, so I might not watch this. However since I do love Sonic I'll probably end up watching it anyway, and I have a feeling it'll air right next to Teen Titans Go so yeah. I also sort of have a feeling it's going to be the Teen Titans Go of the Sonic franchise. :V I love TTG, but many people complained about it and since this show is aimed towards the same age group...

Knuckles looks strange to me, but I've seen some fan sketches that impose designs over the silhouettes and... I think this could all work, if done right. I've no idea how it will hold up in CGI though.

My greatest thought on the subject, actually, was that this will probably be showcased at Sonic Boom 2014. More reason to hop on those tickets as soon as they're up I suppose.

The silhouettes are a little odd. Well, a lot odd. Curious to see the show now but I'd really like an explanation for the redesigns.

I'm a little surprised no one here is having a fit over the sudden design change. Especially knuckles.

It's good to know everyone here is keeping an open mind about this.

Yeah, no one here. xD Things are a little different on other sites.

But anyway, to get some discussion going, does anyone wonder if this show is going to have some form of continuity?

OH yeah, I know everyone else is flipping the F out, but it's good to know people here are a little more mature.

and with your second question, it's kind of a toss up. If they're planning to make it something like AOSTH then no. But if it's gonna be similar to SAT am sonic, then maybe. From the looks of it, I'd say it's half and half at this poitn.

I don't know if they will, but I can't say for sure they are until I know more.

I'm guessing by Pony-esque they mean the animation and writing style. The dude who announced this has also worked on South Park, Pucca and Rugrats. They all have similar animation and writing style. By animation, possibly meaning 2D flash animations. By writing, meaning funny and lighthearted. Then again, I'm just guessing.
Rugrats was quite a fun show, South Park in the earlier years was good. MLP:FiM has it's moments.

Shouldn't expect too much from this cartoon as I doubt it will be a reboot of any of the old ones but rather it's own separate entity; MLP:FiM certainly wasn't an exact reboot of the old MLP series.

I'll always have that soft spot and secret desire that Sonic (SatAM) would get run to completion but I feel that modern animation styles and such would take away some of the magic the original series had.

If they made one that was musical (perhaps not like Underground where the focus was "Sonic's in a band, man!") and more along the lines of "over arcing story with an occasional song thrown in for good measure" I would enjoy it and certainly give it a fair chance to impress me.

I was thinking about this, and I came to the conclusion that probably not very much. It will probably have a couple episodes that show some continuity, you know for big bad bosses or specials or season finales etc. But for the most part I would venture to guess that the show is going to be pretty much all over the place/random/arbitrary.

Not to mention that each episode only consists of 11 minute mini-episodes so it's probably not going to follow a storyline. But who knows, we'll have to wait and see I suppose. :P

I really am curious how this is going to be done. I do have hope for it.

Personally, I think it would be neat if other Sonic characters appeared in it from time to time.
