My mom thinks that me loving Sonic so much is some kind of mental disorder. I love Sonic a lot, so much that I wish he was real so I could marry him and we could have children. I feel happy with these thoughts. If I'm upset I always turn to Sonic and he makes me feel better. Even my counselor at school thinks I have a problem. I had no one to turn to so I thought I'd ask here. What should I do?

	Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

Sonic is just such a kind and caring guy. I deal with negative comments from lots of people in my life. At home and at school and feel like there is no escape from it. Being a fan is ok, making fan-characters and fan-fics are ok and fun even. I'm an RP-addict. However what you are describing is like obsessing over a celebrity except even worse. In an extreme case you might be able to stalk and kidnap your fav celebrity, but you can't do that to Sonic. Even holding the Sega team hostage wouldn't get you what you want. (although if you ever do I have a list of demands to add to your own) On a more serious note, if you are serious about this, I would say list out the things you like about Sonic and then look for real guys who fit that. Sonic isn't the only one, not even in the fictional sonic universe: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SOzeIp5IWDs My Dad always complains that I relate too many things to fiction, and that I spend too much time thinking about fiction, which I do, but in the end, I always know the difference between what is real and what is not. As for finding people of similar interests, lol I'm doing the same thing. In fact I started a kind of mini comic-con at my college to try and bring together all the nerdy and geeky so that I may seek out suitable dating options. Like interests is also high on my list. I'm having a hard time myself because no one at my school likes Sonic. It's frowned apon and I get bullied about it all the time. At my school it's all about Mario. I don't really speak geek. I know a lot about video games but not about technology.

Those have both Mario and Sonic; maybe try to turn the conversation over to those if you're familiar with them, and use that to nudge it further to the Sonic side of the discussion.

I mean a general use of fiction (and sometimes science yes) in conversation. Tendency to use references to movie lines or problems encountered by characters when discussing real life things is what characterizes the lingo most. Just...yeah...find common ground. I tend to talk about fiction a lot when I speak. I have a difficult time remembering movie lines though. I'll try to find common ground. There actually was one guy at my school who loved that I drew Sonic and he was a Sonic fan but I guess he moved because I never saw him in class again.

(Yeah it was really that bad...) Like others have said, finding someone with the same interests as you will definitely help with your obsession. I'm still obsessed with Raven, but not nearly as bad as I was when I was younger/single. Dating someone will definitely help with your crush on Sonic, i'm sure you'll still like him even when you do get a bf, but just not as much as you do now. For now I would try not to talk about Sonic that much in front of your mother, it helped when I wouldn't talk about Raven that much in front of my father. Is it a mental disorder? Heck no I don't see it that way, you just happen to have a huge crush on a fictional character many people do. I mean remember when one of the girls who dressed up as Shadow admitted she was madly in love with Shadow at Sonic Boom?
