Blaire’s next match was at hand and this time it was bringing her to the center of the city. The canine found herself walking along the streets, a guide right beside her as an assortment of cars passed them by. As the husky looked across the freeway, she hoped that her next match would not take place in on a busy road. She drew her ears back in revulsion at the thought of becoming a furry pancake on the highway. The dog shook her head to get rid of that gruesome image. “So,” she turned to her guide. “What’s next for me? Will I have to jump from car to car to get to my opponent?” The guide let out a loud guffaw, throwing his head back. “Oh no, nothing like that. The arena you’re going to fight in is busy, but you don’t have to worry about cars. Well, maybe a couple here and there, but it’ll hardly be any big deal,” he finished with a shrug. “Ah. Well that puts that fear to rest.” Suddenly, the guide took sharp turn. As Blaire followed him, she was surprised to see that they were about to walk into an intersection that housed a rather busy marketplace. The canine slowed her walk down, finding herself in awe at the locale. The intersection was in the shape of a circle, with several booths of peddlers selling many different items ranging from food such as bread and fruit, clothes and articles such as t-shirts and sunglasses, jewelry, and so much more. In the center was a large fountain of polished marble, water gushing indolently out of it and gleaming like diamonds in the midday sun. Blaire slowed to a stop, looking rather impressed at this new area. She found herself sporting a satisfied smirk. “Nice, very nice. Only thing that could make it better would be a nice layer of snow. Too bad this tournament couldn’t have taken place during winter.” The guide took a step back, smiling himself. “Yes, this is a nice place. Perfect for a match.” The husky nodded in agreement. “Yes, perfect for a…” She stopped in mid-sentence, realization hitting her like a tub of bricks. She turned her head so fast and so sharply to the guide that the tip of her muzzle slapped against her cheek. “Wait. Wait a minute. I’m supposed to fight here.” It was a statement, not a question. The guide nodded. “Yup.” She pointed to the ground. “Here.” It was another statement. Again, a nod. “Yup.” Blaire shook her head. “But there are people here!” she cried, waving her arms off to one side at the substantial group of merchants and shoppers. “I can’t fight here!” The guide shrugged. “Sorry, but this is where your next battle is taking place. Besides, most of these guys aren’t going to be this close when the actual fight is going on. They’ll move away.” Blaire drew her ears back. “Yeah… but…” The guide laid a hand on the dog’s shoulder. “Don’t worry. You’ll be fine.” As he removed his hand, he began to walk away. He took but a few seconds to look back at the purple-furred Mobian, a smile on his face. “Good luck.” Blaire could only nodded in response, still reeling mentally from all this. She let out a deep sigh to help clear her mind. “I guess I have no choice,” she said to herself, scratching the back of her neck. The canine soon switched on her Cryokinetic Bangle, readying it for the match and waiting for it to charge. All that remained now was to wait for her opponent and start this fight properly. This seems familiar, Fenroar Strauss thought to himself, yawning as he husked the Genesis Sword, a crimson red blade with a blackened hilt, over his shoulder. He was supposed to battle his last opponent here, only for him to apparently time out. Some of the crowd apparently recognized him, shouting random complaints like "Hey! It's the lightning boy!" or "The red-eyed demon" or something silly like that. He was booed heavily by the crowd after how abrupt his last match actually ended. A metal can was hurled in Fenroar's direction, arriving at the intersection where he stood near the fountain. Merchants and their stands were nearly in their exact same place as last time. Once again, Fenroar expects the crowd to panic as soon as his fight begins. The metal can bounced off his hat, Fenroar wincing a bit because it hit him in the forehead. He then spotted his opponent; Blaire Fields. A husky. "Fighting more fairy tales, huh?" Fenroar reacted quietly, still not used to fighting humanoid animals. He raised his sword, recognizing somebody as unusual as a husky (to him anyway) when he was in the lobby. She must be his opponent. The crowd cringed a bit upon seeing him raise his blade, wondering if the mess could be starting again. Fenroar though is leaving the first move up to Blaire. "I'm Fenroar Strauss. Pleasure to meet you." |

Out of the corner of her eye, Blaire caught sight of a metal can flying towards the fountain. The dog took a few steps forward, her eyebrows raising when she noticed a red-eyed human standing there. She had seen this guy before in the lobby, an occasional glance here and there. There was no mistake, he must be her opponent. Fighting more fairy tales, huh? The husky crossed her arms over her chest. “What’s wrong?” she said with a smirk. “Ya never seen a walking, talking, purple husky before? Hmm?” As the human raised his weapon, the canine’s grin grew. “Well, well, someone close to my level. I haven’t had a good sword fight since the last time Scarlett and I came across one another. This’ll be fun.” I’m Fenroar Strauss. Pleasure to meet you. “Likewise,” the dog told him, pulling her saber out and placing it in front of her. As she gently ran a finger down the glossy surface of the blade, she continued addressing her foe. “The name’s Blaire. Blaire Fields of the Oakland Resistance Division,” she finished, pulling a snappy salute with the tip of her sword. With the speed of lighting, the husky had her saber pointing right at her opponent. “I hope you’re ready for one of the toughest matches of your life!” Just as quickly, she pulled her sword to her side. “Let’s do this!” With some of the crowd looking on and many more packing up their effects up, Blaire shot forward. She veered towards the fountain, sword outstretched before her, a smug grin on her lavender muzzle. As she was just about to reach her opponent, the canine swiftly swung her saber, the blade creating a blue blur as it pierced the air. Blaire had aimed for Fenroar’s torso, hoping her first hit would be a good one. Bangle Charge: 25% |

"What is a Oakland Resistance Division? A sports team?" Fenroar asked, rather unfamiliar with the said organization. Blaire Fields was only a name Fenroar remembered seeing a few times before while in the lobby. However, not giving him much time to ponder over the matter, Blaire excitingly declared her intentions and suddenly charged forward. Fenroar smirked, readying himself. "Yeah, ditto!" Blaire didn't even hesitate to strike. Moving at an impressively fast rate, Blaire swung the saber directly at his left side, which could bring a swift end. Fenroar blocked via by swinging his sword vertically, the two blades clashing into place. The crowd were startled, some dropping things they were carrying at the loud sound of their blade colliding with each other. The merchants hid behind their stands while most people decided to take a few steps back. Some however were brave or complete morons and decided to watch, smirking at the scene. Fenroar knows he could be at a disadvantage in the body strength area. Due to Blaire's status and frame as a husky, she might be stronger then him. Fenroar could feel himself briefly shaking and struggling to push his foe back. Fenroar chose to back off, using his own magic of air to let him jump back a few quick feet. He landed directly on a merchant stand, crushing it and causing some breakable merchandise to fall off. He heard the sound of a vase falling and breaking, Fenroar sighing as some began booing him. For now, he ignored them and suddenly thrust his left hand forward, holding onto the Genesis Sword with his right hand. A blue lightning bolt was launched at Blaire, likely to frighten some of the crowd. Due to the panicking crowd and the shaky stand he was standing on, Fenroar could be off with his lightning bolt. If Blaire managed to keep sight during his jump, she would have likely saw his hand thrust forward too. Like all electrical attacks, Fenroar's lightning bolts are fast and will likely hit if one is not focused enough. However, the one Fenroar fired was rather weak. It would only cause a brief paralysis and a quick jolt of pain, perhaps around five seconds or more if he's lucky, as Fenroar didn't take the time to charge it. Depending on how much Fenroar charges his electrical attacks, the damage from his bolts could vary. A brief paralysis as said or a fully charged lightning bolt, which would take a while, would most likely end the match. -- Amount of electricity left: Eighty-five percent |

Clang! The sound of metal against metal resonated throughout the outdoor arena as Fenroar used his sword to block Blaire’s own. The husky heard something hit the ground, dropped by someone alarmed by the sudden action. Others decided to high-tail it out of the marketplace, their own items falling by the wayside as they couldn’t carry everything. Still, there were many that remained, a few taking the risk of staying where they were, wanting to watch the battle. Blaire could feel herself being pushed back by her opponent. However, the human quickly backed off, jumping back onto a merchant stand. The husky tilted her head to the side in confusion, wondering why he wasn’t trying to go in with a strike from his sword. “Okay, what is he planning? There must be a reason he backed out like that… Pretty acrobatic I will admit though.” Booooo! Keeping her saber at the ready in case Fenroar launched an attack, the canine raised an eyebrow at the crowd expressing displeasure at the human destroying the stand and some of the items it had been selling to fall off and break. “Yeah, I knew having a fight here was a baaaad idea.” This whole time, Blaire was expecting her foe to come at her with his sword, whether it was trying to stab her in the shoulder or swinging the blade at her stomach. However, that wasn’t the method of attack Fenroar went for in the least. It was an understatement to say that the husky was surprised to see a jolt of blue lighting shooting out from her foe’s hand. The dog tried to roll out of the way, but the attack had come so suddenly that she couldn’t dodge it. The bolt hit her in the back of her head, stunning her and causing her to fall to the ground. However, just as quickly as the pain and paralysis set it did it vanish. Blaire climbed back to her feet, taking a brief moment to dust some dirt from her trenchcoat. “Okay, you got me that time. Next time, though, don’t expect to get me that easily!” Before she finished her sentence, the violet-furred Mobian ran forward. She jumped onto the rim of the fountain and subsequently leapt off it to the wrecked stand Fenroar was standing on. The Division Agent twisted herself into a front flip, holding out her sword in front of her body so that the blade would be able to hit her opponent if he didn’t block or dodge in time. This time, I'll charge some myself, Fenroar thought, charging electricity within his body again. Fenroar readied himself once again, noticing the crowd beginning to freak out now. A merchant was trying to yell at Fenroar behind him but the latter paid no attention, eyes fixed on Blaire. The husky charged at him again directly at the front, jumping off the fountain and surprisingly coming at him quickly, flipping while doing so. Realizing he won't be able to block, Fenroar evaded to his left side. A jump like that will only leave her wide open afterwards, concluded Fenroar, where as soon as he jumped, he ran back and attempted to deliver a horizontal swing from his sword. The merchant stand would also be further or more likely completely destroyed too. Some people of the crowd began cheering Fenroar noted, treating the battle like a mere sport match. |

Blaire’s eyes narrowed as Fenroar veered to his left in order to dodge her attack. “Dang, I missed,” the canine thought as she landed behind the stand. She turned to try and pinpoint where her foe was so she could go for another attack, when the human came at her this time. “Oh shoot. Shoot!” As agile as she was, the husky was not able to avoid the horizontal swing from her opponent’s sword. She tried to dive out of the way, only for the blade to connect, catching her right down her side. With a yelp of pain, Blaire found herself rolling into a fruit stand that was close by. A few apples and oranges fell down from broken crates, bouncing off the Mobian’s head before hitting the ground. Clenching her teeth in pain, Blaire pushed herself to her feet. Ignoring the cheering cries of the crowd, the dog walked forward, hand clenched tightly around the hilt of her saber. So far, straight on frontal attacks were not working – both times the human had either dodged or blocked the husky’s hits. Therefore, the dog concluded that an attack from the side or from behind would be the best course of action to take next. “And if I can hit him where he would have a hard time dodging,” Blaire realized, eyes glancing from side to side. “That’ll make it a bit easier to fight Fenroar in general.” All at once, she shot off to the right, away from her opponent, the plan of how she was going to pull idea off formulating in her mind. "Heh," Fenroar reacted, watching his attack hit and seemingly wound Blaire. It is true. If she keeps charging at Fenroar from the front where she could see her movements, Fenroar would almost certainly avoid each of her movements. Fenroar saw a couple apples and oranges scatter about, seeing some citizens accidentally fall and slip when stepping on them. The crowd appeared to have stopped booing Fenroar, cheering him after his attack, which is a relief. He was booed so far in the battle and for his last one which never actually finished. Some boos were still there though but they were still treating it like a sports match. Fenroar then noticed Blaire shooting off to the right, Fenroar's left side, weaving between random individuals. She must be planning something obviously. Fenroar sighed, continuing to charge electricity within his body. He used his feet to flip an orange into the air, trying to hit Blaire out of boredom during her move, only for it to hit a random observer directly in the forehead. -- Amount of electricity left: Eighty five percent |

Blaire let out a sigh through her teeth from the pain of her wound as she ran towards the end of the arena. Her plan was simple – she was going to try to get behind or to the side of Fenroar so she would have an easier time hitting him with her sword. Or, if her bangle had been fully charged at that time, a few ice shards. Surely he wouldn’t be expecting that. “Now that I think about it, I could wait until that happens. I wouldn’t have to wait long though,” the dog thought, glancing at the screen on her bangle and noticing how close the gauge was to being full. “I could hide behind one of the stands and then launch an attack from there when I can use my ice powers. Yeah, that’s it. That’s what I’ll do.” A sly smirk crossed Blaire’s face as she now had a good idea of what she was going to do. The canine increased her speed the best she could and headed behind the furthest stand, one that was almost completely empty save for a few scattered pieces of jewelry hanging from it. "Hey, thanks, jerk!" "Boo!" "You stink!" Fenroar sighed as he had more fruit thrown at him after hitting a citizen directly in the head, a mere kick and attack that was meant for Blaire. The audience booed, Fenroar trying to focus but ended up losing sight of Blaire for a bit. At first, Fenroar looked around, thinking he might have actually lost her. However, he then realized that Blaire was heading towards the direction of merchant stands, one at the complete opposite side where Fenroar was at. Fenroar walked to the side a bit, frightening some individuals as he carried his sword, having a serious expression on his face. She must be hiding there, Fenroar thought, clearly up to something. With Blaire hiding behind the stands furthest from him, there's quite a distance between the two. Fenroar stood there, wondering what to do. What is she doing? She's hiding somewhere over there... Should I pursue? But hmm, maybe that's what she wants. For me to get in close range. I never like being the one forced to come to my opponent. Fenroar also didn't find a need to. He could just stand there and continue charging electricity. The more waiting time Fenroar gets, the more he charges his electricity... and the more powerful his next electrical attack becomes. It will drain more obviously but Fenroar could do some mighty damage if he attacks very soon. However, Blaire playing a waiting game too would just make the match boring. Fenroar still kept his distance but walked closer to the stands where Blaire must be hiding by. He then gently thrust his arms forward, suddenly bringing down several breakable vases, artifacts, and jewelry and making the stands shake a bit. His arms are already feeling a bit sore, and remembering how overusing this killed him in his match against Wraith, he stopped quickly. It won't be popular with the crowd but hopefully it can draw out Blaire's location. |

“Okay, just a few more minutes. And then I can strike!” This was the very thought that ran through the mind of one Blaire Fields as she waited for the gauge on her cryokinetic bangle to reach full capacity. She hid behind the stand, hoping that Fenroar had not been paying too much attention and thus wouldn’t be able to clue in on her location so easily. Her hopes were, unfortunately, unfounded. For a couple short minutes, everything was silent, save for of course the shouts and cheers of the very boisterous crowd. But the sounds of battle were none; no swords clashing against one another, no static from flying electricity, nothing. Soon, however, that silence was shattered, quite literally in fact. The sound of pottery smashing into the ground made Blaire jump back, almost giving herself away. All around her it rained shards of clay, pieces of false gold and fake diamonds as something, or someone gave the stand a push. The husky rolled out of the way, just before what looked like an ancient artifact could hit her in the head. The young Mobian let out a deep sigh of relief. “Whew, that was a close one.” Bangle charge complete. Affect will activate in thirty seconds. All at once, the temperature right around Blaire sharply dropped to a very low level – low enough to freeze water in fact. Of course, it didn’t bother the canine in the least, being a husky after all. And best of all, it meant that she could do what she had been waiting the entire match to do – use her cryokinetic powers. “Time for me to show Fenroar what I’m really made of!” Still trying to keep herself hidden as much as she was able, as she was sure her position had been compromised somewhat when she had to roll out of the way earlier, the dog formed an long ice shard in her hand. She chanced a glance around the stand, where she noticed her opponent. Eyes narrowed in determination, the canine drew back her arm and then let the shard fly. “Surprise, Fenroar!” |

Fenroar did briefly see Blaire's location in the aftermath of his last attack, seeing her tail and bits of the husky's body when rolling away from a vase. He stared at her direction, still a safe distance from her, but smirked. Now he knows exactly where Blaire is and he is continuing to charge electricity within him soon. He's now charged his electrical attack to the point that it will severely electrocute Blaire and make her writhe in pain, similar to a taser gun. Blaire probably won't be finished alone from the strike, as they are still in mostly good condition, although Fenroar did slightly wound her earlier. However, she could be paralyzed enough for Fenroar to easily deliver a follow-up attack with his Genesis Sword. While unsure of what Blaire was planning, Fenroar believed he was one step ahead of her, finding Blaire doomed for giving him enough time. Her only hope now is to keep her distance as far away as- Perhaps Fenroar was too over his head for that instant. Although he kept his eyes right on the stand Blaire was hiding behind, he didn't notice the husky suddenly chucking an ice shard directly at him. In these temperatures!? "Whoa!" Fenroar reacted, holding up the Genesis Sword in the air and attempted to deflect it to the side. However, that didn't go as planned. It skidded against the left side of the blade, hitting Fenroar and painfully skidding against his left bicep. It was sharp. Fenroar clenched his teeth in pain, the icicle slowing down and falling against the ground instantly. Fenroar's black sleeve was torn, blood dripping down with a decently deep cut, hurting quite a bit. It left a gash definitely. Some of the crowd began to further back off from the sight of more blood, perhaps realizing that Blaire's icicle could have easily hit them. Fenroar groaned, both in pain and annoyance. So I see. The husky's an Undine user. Or whatever ice and water magic is on her planet. No matter. I still have electricity charged, Fenroar thought, eyes focused on Blaire again. He resumed charging electricity within his body, which could be very bad for Blaire the longer he goes without using an electrical attack. When Fenroar is unexpectedly hit, he loses his focus and stops charging electricity. However, soon, Fenroar could very well end the battle with his next electrical attack. "It will take more then that to stop me." |

Whoa! Blaire’s ears perked up upon hearing the shout that came from her opponent. As her ice shard came at him, the human tried to refract it off the blade of his sword. Unfortunately for him, Fenroar had reacted too late. The ice had managed to scrap his left bicep, blood dripping from the wound. Blaire could only smirk at the grunt of pain from her foe. “Oh yes, now we’re talking!” It will take more than that to stop me. The husky slowly stood up, the sly grin still on her face – it briefly faded with the pain from her previous wound as she straightened herself out. “Well, I’m glad to hear that. It would be a shame for either of us to go down easily.” She lightly twirled her sword. “Wouldn’t you agree?” “But anyway,” Blaire continued. “We’re wasting time here.” She quickly broke into a run, heading right for her opponent. “Show me what you’ve got!” Being a cryomancer, the Mobian had another skill she had at her disposal, that being the ability to incase something she touched in a thin layer of ice. She had yet been able to even try to freeze anything in this tournament, much less her opponent. But now, it seemed as if she had that chance. Of course, there’s still his elemental power to watch out for. An electric attack at close range could do some real damage if Blaire wasn’t careful. She was taking a lot of risk by doing this. The husky decided that the best thing for her to do would be to just try to use her freeze ability long enough to take her foe off guard. With luck, he would be slowed down enough for the dog to get a strike in with her sword. She reached out to grab her opponent’s shoulder, and was prepared to swing her saber if everything went as planned. Bangle Charge: 75% |

"You're going to run straight at me?" asked Fenroar, the crowd now completely away from the battle and are close to the walls as possible. Fenroar was taken aback, seeing the husky should know how fast electrical attacks are. Facing him at close-range is not exactly a good idea as that will not leave much time to react compared to those from a distance. Fenroar figured this next attack will now scare the crowd. With his electricity nearly charged to its strongest, Fenroar leaned onto his sword, seemingly doing nothing with his left arm still hurting from Blaire's earlier attack. Suddenly, without even moving, an electrical discharge surged through the air, likely raising the husky's fur a bit. A brief two or three seconds later, a massive blue lightning bolt emerged from Fenroar's chest at an incredible speed. This attack will be much stronger then Fenroar's last one. Blaire would likely writhe in pain, paralyzed greatly, and be paralyzed to the point that Fenroar could finish her off or wound her greatly with a follow-up attack. The special thing about Fenroar is that he doesn't have anything flashy, simply summoning lightning bolts. However, Fenroar has the ability to summon electricity without the need of a signal, chant, or hand motion. What he did earlier when thrusting his hand was to simply give Blaire the wrong idea, which is what he basically did with every opponent so far in this tournament. Combine this with the fact that Fenroar can charge electricity, he can be a completely unpredictable opponent, which is why it's deadly to confront Fenroar close-range when he has already been given time to charge electricity. Of course, if Blaire manages to somehow avoid the attack, then Fenroar could be in trouble as he charged all that electricity only for it to be a wasteful effort. He's left with few electricity now and be incredibly vulnerable. -- Ten percent of electricity left Left arm wounded |

“Okay Blaire, watch yourself…” Just before she could touch her opponent, the canine felt her fur rise as a discharge of electricity coursed through the air. Knowing that Fenroar would most likely try to attack her with a burst of lightning or another attack of the sort, the canine moved her sword up to try to deflect the hit… “Yow!” Blaire had tried to move as quickly as possible, only for a large lightning bolt to come at the young Mobian and hit her in the chest. The sword possibly could of deflected the attack if Blaire had gotten it up in time, but unfortunately the bolt had come too fast and with the only warning being static electricity in the air. The husky was thrown back by the force of the strike, landing near the fountain. For a brief moment, she was dazed, her head reeling. The dizziness soon subsided however and Blaire was ready to get back into the swing of things. However, while that went away, there was something else that, to the canine’s horror, didn’t. “Oh gosh the pain is…ugh! This is agonizing! And… oh no… oh no!" Much like what happened with Fenroar’s last electric attack, the husky had found herself paralyzed. But last time, where the Mobian had quickly regained movement, this time she still found herself unable to move a muscle. “Oh no, not now… not here!” Bangle Charge: 50% |
