Posts: 2,305 Group: S Rank Hero Member #12,433 Joined: October 2, 2011 Gender: Male	When Rad's approach caught Nebula's eye, he tried to counterattack with a void-influenced punch. However, Rad was moving so fast he was long past the vortex before it could materialize. Using the momentum he built, the red hedgehog crashed his good shoulder into Nebula and had him stumbling. Taking advantage of Nebula's stunned state, the red racer swept Nebula's legs, leaving him parallel to his board as he began to fall. Rad short-hopped and boosted in one skate, bringing his foot down in a crescent shape, digging the front of his Extreme Gear Skate into Nebula's stomach. Alec used a small water geyser to pop Nebula back up towards Rad who began turning his body. Right-side up again, he dug his heel back into Nebula's gut. Back into Alec's grip, he arched his water stream and crashed Nebula into the ground. However, after the stream of water disappeared, Nebula wasn't on the other side. Using a void to escape, Nebula came for a direct frontal attack. The "Rad Red Racer", as some call him, already anticipated this attack. Still moving forward, Rad frontflipped and used a boosted dropkick to send Nebula back into the vortex he generated. This attack slowed Rad's momentum, but he got going once more. Nebula was out in back after reappearing and the duo capped out the first lap with a comfortable lead. However, that changed when they rushed past who they thought was an unconscious Ignis. The sly lizard was simply waiting for his moment. Ignis could care less for Rad or the race, but when Alec came within reach, Ignis sent out a large water-generated hand that extended from his own. The giant water hand smacked Alec dead-on with tremendous force and forced the aquatic hedgehog into a delirious state. Ignis conjured another large water hand extending from his free arm. Using both aquatic limbs, the lizard crushed Alec with the force of two brick walls. Held in both hands, the dark lizard let out a loud hiss as he drove Rad's partner and friend into the ground, shaking the arena and stands. The entire crowd winced and gasped as Rad desperately called out to his friend. Nebula seized the opportunity to open a portal for Ignis to send a large gush of water into. The wicked hedgehog used the captured water to spring a surprised attack and catapult Rad helplessly into the sky. With his opposite fist, Nebula opened a large portal and charged more sinister energy. When he launched his attack, his fist was almost five times it's original size. The giant fist crashed down onto Rad like a meteor from the heavens, and equal force as well. Rad rocketed into the track, breaking it like weak glass. He tumbled and skipped across the rough pavement like a pebble on a lake before his body was finally left smoldering on the sidelines from the dark energy. It would be a miracle if the two would even be able to get up after such hard hits. The crowd watched on. ((I'll wrap it up next post. XD))

Because I'm kind of just moving along here. = P )) There was nothing the girl could do to help the two racers. One, she couldn't interfere. Two, that would be cheating. Three, nobody wants to win a race without using their own skill--if they did, they weren't a real racer. And four...well. Whatever she did happened with a bang. Wait. Why do I want to help them so badly? I shouldn't care so much. It doesn't make any sense. Still, the blonde she-hog had to admit that she wanted to help the two. But she was powerless in this situation... Electra bared her fangs, clenching her fists tightly. She hissed under her breath, her gaze intense. C'mon. Get up, you guys. Get up. Without meaning to do it, her eyes suddenly glowed with a new--and immortal--intensity, slightly illuminating the darkness around her. Get up!

He knew Nebula and Ignis was still there. They didn't care for the race, they didn't even bother finishing. Nebula and Ignis both were approaching the bodies to inspect the damage and finish the job. Nebula flipped Rad's injured body over. The red hedgehog grunted and groaned in pain. "The great hero Rad Riardos, huh? How laughable. Eh, old friend?" Nebula's fist began sparking with more intense black energy. Frantic looks began to cross the crowd's faces as they finally accepted that this wasn't a normal race anymore. However, anyone who knew Rad would be laughing. They know he's far beyond this. *"Get... UP!"* Before Nebula's fist could connect with Rad, the red hedgehog's eyes sprung open with a faint flash of white light. Rad caught Nebula's dark strike with a glowing palm. The wicked hedgehog had a surprised look on his face. Rad shotgunned his energy, blasting his opponent back as he rose to his feet. "Thinking... you could defeat... ME? Heh. How... laughable..." taunted Rad, through his groans of pain. His body began to glow a faint white, empowering himself. "Alec rests. There's still... one more lap... to go. Let's finish this." Ignis and Nebula began laughing, their arrogance showing. "You take on the both of us? Fine by me," chuckled the twisted hedgehog, waving Ignis, who re-secured his board. Both him and Nebula both stood at the edge of the track as Rad approached his friend. "Don't worry, pal. You rest easy," Rad calmly muttered as he rested his injured friend on the sidelines. Rad's body not only glowed with his energy, it exuded confidence and focus as he showcased a completely calm demeanor. With a deep breath, he began dashing back towards the track. As he did, his opponents dashed off and Rad pursued behind them. This race was still on. ((I know. I lied. I WAS going to finish it but my mind is so blank I lost my train of thought. I tried at an hour and came up with a slew of posts that I only confused myself with. I still don't like this one but I needed to post so I could sleep. XD))

Maybe it'll end next post, hmm? = P Anyways, another short one from me. )) Electra watched, feeling both a little awed and a lot confused. Her eyes slowly dimmed, until they were normal again. The blue glow that had appeared around her clenched fists faded as well. Did I...do that? It wasn't even intentional...weird... She sighed, leaning back against the little wall-space she had secured for herself. She still watched the screen intently, biting her lip every so often. He's still calm and ready to fight it out. With that attitude...I still think he can win this.

XD)) It was the third lap and Rad was now going it alone. However, the faint white glow around him driven by his own willpower still cloaked him. Going into the first jump, Nebula boosted upon entering a vortex and reappeared behind Rad. Obviously cornerstoning the market on one-skate boosting, Rad used this technique to backflip in mid-air and kick down towards the track. A good shot, but the dark hedgehog simply used his vortex mastery to transition back to his board as the others touched down. Now it was Ignis' turn. The lizard spun his board, along with his body, as he summoned a stream of water for Rad. The red hedgehog dashed straight for Ignis and ducked the water at the last second. The black-scaled opponent shifted the stream of water to chase after Rad. Rad was headed for Ignis however, and at the last moment the red racer jumped overtop of the opposition. "Do you think I'm that stupid?!" Ignis hollered. Before the stream of water collided with it's manipulator, the lizard raised both of his arms and arched the water above him. It appeared as Rad's attempt was to get Ignis to strike himself with his own attack. It wasn't. "Yes..." With a strong roundhouse kick, Rad nailed Ignis in his stomach while his arms were raised. Before the moment of impact, Rad's Skate glowed a more pristine white. The resulting strike was a controlled burst of energy for extra damage. The frilled lizard skipped across the track after coughing up his own blood. Nebula assisted his partner by via Gadou, his alter realm, to return him to his board. Anticipating another attack through Gadou, Rad flinched backwards. Low and behold, Nebula's fist came through a vortex attempting to strike Rad. The red hedgehog snatched Nebula's fist and ripped him through the portal. With a follow-up strike, the red hedgehog kneed Nebula in his jaw before flipping him onto the track, in which the evil hedgehog returned to his board. It seemed no attack would stun Nebula or Ignis if they kept using Gadou to recuperate. Ignis engulfed himself with water and fired into Gadou. At this point, Rad's patience was wearing thin. The hedgehog charged his fist and immediately countered when Ignis re-appeared. After being launched back into Gadou, Rad went after him! After Ignis re-appeared onto his board, Rad shattered through Gadou and scored a mean kick to the face of the lizard, shooting him into the same concrete barricade Rad hit. It seemed it was finally one versus one, and both racers were coming down to the final stretch. As the race climaxed, Nebula's body began to radiate a large black aura. In counter, Rad's body glowed in a bright white aura. As the glow grew more intense, so did their speed. They both shot off the final jump as two trails of energy repeatedly clashing against each other. As they both touched down, they continued clashing into each other. Underneath the blanket of energy, what seemed to be mere rams was the two fighters exchanging multiple strikes. Neither gave an inch but it was Rad who took the checkered flag. However, that didn't matter. It wasn't about the race. It never was. Both of their energies slowly faded as they stood at the finish line still eyeing each other heavily. The spectators were fanatic that Rad won the small tournament but Rad and Nebula's battle was far from over. "I expected far better, old friend," insulted Nebula, as the determined look of Rad set steady. "We'll battle each other soon... Very soon..." he muttered, disappearing into Gadou. ((I began skimping on details to reduce post length. Lol. After final interactions, let's do a time skip until they meet up at another race. A month or two?))

That sounds good. It'll be funny, though. Electra would register under an alias--pretending to be a guy--and basically run leisurely laps around the course. After the race, when everyone's gone, she'll show some actual skill by using her real board and shredding across the track. )) Electra let out a slow breath, closing her eyes. ...He did it. Cool. She smiled, showing off her sharp fangs for once. She was...happy. She was happy that he had won the race. Although, that didn't seem to settle things... Still. A small victory is a victory nonetheless. Now...time to get out of here... The blonde she-hog slipped out from underneath the bleachers, easily joining up with the crowd. She looked back briefly towards the track. ...I have a feeling I'll see you guys again soon... (( Actually, she'll just slip away for now. You can initiate the time skip. ; P ))

Posts: 2,305 Group: S Rank Hero Member #12,433 Joined: October 2, 2011 Gender: Male	((-presses magic time skip button-)) It had been two months since the duo's "success" at the last tournament. The tournament was one of many qualifying preliminary tournaments leading up to tonight. Tonight marked the beginning of the Semifinal Tag Team Extreme Gear Championship League. The winning team tonight would advance to the final eight team bracket for the true Championship. It's been a while since the duo raced but they trained to keep their skills up. The favorable audience had grew even larger in the few months and the older stadium was brought down and moved. The new stadium was located in another city and had seen renovations of enlargement and expansion. The tracks have also been modified with more twist, turns, and surprise hazards. These were no lightweight competitions, as they put racers to their limits. Most of the remaining teams were professionals with notable reputations and even full squads, crews, and sponsors at their sides. Within the stadium, the individuals had their own garages that served as modifying their boards and remaining idle in-between matches. The waiting area within the garages were rather posh, with comfortable lounges and TVs to eye the competition. There had been a designated area with a more gritty appearance where equipment and tools were provided for working on and repairing gear. The excitement of the stadium was enough to shake the Earth to it's core. Rad and Alec acquired a mechanic of their own, which made up their 3-man underdog squad. Their gear had been modified to fit their fighting styles and teamwork better. Rad's Gear had been modified to be stronger and lighter to suit his aggressive style. The maneuverability of Alec's Gear was heightened so the aquatic hedgehog could flow in the same patterns of his water attacks. As tonight's races were being settled, Alec and Tech awaited in their lounge as Rad made his way to the stadium. ((That post needs to be an anime... Lol.))

Yours? )) A sudden loud, exasperated half-shout made a few people turn their heads in surprise. After all, most of the cries and shouts up to this point had been extremely happy, cheerful, energetic, and a variety of other enthusiastic and positive emotions. This sudden frustration and disappointment was new to everyone. "What do you mean I can't race?!" The security guard huffed, his aggression clearly showing in his tone. "Look, missy. This race here is for qualifiers--most of 'em professionals--only. You don't cut the bill." "That's because I haven't been given a chance! I've never even been allowed to practice on an actual field--how will anyone know if I'm any good?!" "That ain't my problem. That's your problem." The blonde she-hog was about to snap a retort when the guard--a big lizard of sorts--leaned over to get in her face. "You ain't even got your own board. Start with that. Put in some real effort before you start screaming at the wrong people. Now beat it, missy." The guard huffed in her face, making the she-hog cough with disgust. He then lumbered away. As the small crowd dispersed, the blonde she-hog let her head hang as she stared forlornly at the ground. "...You don't know how hard I've been trying..." Electra sighed, letting her clenched fists relax. She stared at the track, watching the busy crews as well. This would've been perfect. It's the closest thing they have to an average-level race back home...
