I have the sudden urge to draw jacket-hood Ludi. It's an amusing mental image. Also this increasingly seems like "TRUST NOBODY": The Story. Everyone's plotting something behind somebody's back by the looks of things. But for what purpose? Guess we'll have to keep reading. Good chapter, L. Couple of slip ups as always (most notable being "atlas" when I think you meant "alas" for when Hex was speaking), but that aside it's all good. |

(Next chapter is up. Short and a lot of dialog but the next chapter should be longer. Didn't want to make this one super long do I broke off the beginning. xD) Chapter 8: Siege Ludi and Rabid walked into Hex's quarters. The human looked around for a moment before fixing his eyes on the captain. Ludi on the other hand fixed his attention on the array of items on the desk. His eyes caught a bit of movement to their right, noting that Ezekial walked passed them and stood to the left of his wooden desk. Silence filled the air as the pirate sat in his chair and looked at some old letters. They seemed outdated, yet somehow preserved over a course of many years. The papers were well faded, yet it still remained sturdy with a hint of stiffness. The captain sighs as he closed his eye, letting the papers rest face down on the desk. "This kingdom is fated to rise, lads. Ye can't stop what be heading for us. Not this time, lads, not a chance in the depths of the great sea her self." Ludi and Rabid looked a bit confused, or at least pretended to. The pirate saw through this and squinted his eyes bit with annoyance. "I know who ya'r, Planeswalker." Rabid's fists tightened with pure rage as his eyes narrowed strongly, fixing his menacing glare upon the captain as he thought heavily about leaping over the desk and smashing the captain's head against it. Ludi could tell this name bothered the human. For what reason he wasn't sure, nor did that matter at the moment. "Oh... You're Mist, the shinigami." Ludi spoke up, to which Hex slowly nods as his eye continued to rest upon Rabid. "Well, you must have dropped out a long time ago, Rabid's Royal name changed to-" "Siege... His name was given to him by his father." Captain informs them, changing his voice completely to a deep and smooth one. After he finished Ludi's sentence he lifted up the pieces of papers and waved them a bit. "These letters were written from him before he died in the last rise of the Fated Kingdom." "I wasn't aware there were multiple attempts to stop the rising kingdom." "Kid, I'm one of two people who've been around long enough to know that this kingdom can not be stopped. No magic has been strong enough to stop it. No plague, virus, spell, creature, being, or mage can fort what is to come, and what will continue to come every so many years." "From what you're saying, it sounds like we're not the ones calling the shots here." Hex shook his head lightly and smirked a bit, almost enjoying his answer to this comment. "You're not. These Hauntmares are an old myth, something used ages ago to try and stop the Fated Kingdom. The Eclipse Blades were simply a new way to introduce an old idea... If I haven't made myself clear, Lord Fate isn't 'building' the Fated Kingdom. He is trying to raise his own kingdom to stop the up and coming one... Sad truth, Fate isn't even behind this plan." Both Rabid and Ludi displayed very shocked expressions. For a moment the human's anger vanished as he wasn't aware of this news. "Fate's a clone, if ya didn't know." Their eyes widen as Hex paused, taking delight in their dumbfounded looks they were presenting. "Lilfate, on the other hand, is real. He is in fact the real Fate. During our final struggle against the Fated Kingdom we snatched Fate from their possession..." He paused once more, thinking for a moment before handing the papers over to Ezekial, who then walked over to Rabid and gave them to him. "It doesn't matter now. The Royals, the Guardians, none of them can stop it. Not even with this new dark science you royals seem to be using." "Two questions, if you don't mind." Hex slowly nod his head at Ludi, as if saying he didn't mind answering any questions. "Why aren't you helping either of us?" Hex smirked a bit as he cleared his throat to reply. "The Guardians are just as worse as the Royals. They tried to create a powerful warrior to combat the Hauntmares, not realizing the Hauntmares were created to rid of another powerful force. This time around the Guardians are trying to do the same thing as the Royals. They're going to raise their own mystical kingdom to try and defeat the rising kingdom... Where do you think Blaire is heading to in such a hurry? Lastly, to answer your question, there isn't a point to helping either side. The kingdom will rise up, it'll consume all, and it'll restart the world like it has done for ages. And if we're luckily some of us will survive and be able to take part in the rebirth of this world." Ludi couldn't help but raise his eyebrow at his long reply. As gloomy and 'dooms-day-like' the picture Hex painted seemed, he spoke about it with such boredom that it was hard to believe. It then dawned on Ludi that the Captain must have seen this event thousands of times and tried to stop it each and every time. "Second question... Who is the second person you mentioned before." "Combo... Oddly enough he didn't want to side with the Royals. I bounced back and forth each time, but he seemed to remain faithful to the opposing side. Not really sure why." "I have two questions." Rabid spoke up, then continued to ask his questions without waiting another second. "Who were these letters written to? And if Lord Fate is a clone, were is his real self?" "Those letters were written to me. I knew your father pretty well. As for your second question, Lilfate is the real Fate, so Lord Fate's 'real self' would in fact be Lilfate... Maybe you'll get more from Combo if he feels like telling you. I'm sending Ezekial and Combo with you guys by the way. They'll keep me posted on your pointless progress... Now kindly get off my ship and get yourselves killed." With that said Ludi blinked a few times, shrugged, then turned around and started to head out. Rabid looked at the letters within his hands and began to read them as he exited the room... ~First Letter Dear Shinigami. The other night I had a dream. There was a world full of kings and queens but it was cold, dark as the night. We were the fire on the moonlit skies. We weren't divided, we were the same, and we were free but we all wore chains. We couldn't see it but we created a place between truth and overrated. We had a plan to build a wall. A great divide that would never fall, to separate us from all the pain and keep our skeletons locked away. And brick by brick we built it so thick that it blacked out the sky and all the sunlight. And one by one we all became numb. We were making the bullets to a broken gun... ~Second Letter Dear Shinigami If I could just see it all, just like a fly on the wall... Would I be able to accept what I can't control? And would I share what I saw, or just sit back and ignore like nothing never happened, and I haven't seen you before? I'm on the run from a thief I let into my head. I know I hold the keys so don't be scared when I turn and shout... I don't think I need you anymore. Take your words and your lies and just beat it. Take the hurt and the pain, I don't need it... I wanna live, I wanna be the change... We can all be kings and queens if we can just learn to believe... If we can just learn... To believe... "Your father didn't want Hex's help anymore." Combo's voice pulled Rabid's attention from the letters he was reading. He was so fixed on reading them over and over that he didn't realized they all made it down from the ship. They had set up camp several miles away from the massive sleeping beast the ship was on top of. A fire was crackling several feet away from him. Ludi was to his right, both of them setting themselves on log that was separated from the main group. Pianta felt a bit annoyed and bothered that Ludi and Rabid were having a private meeting with Combo. She didn't like being left out of the loop, yet putting her little leash on Yami once more gave her some enjoyment to beat back this bothersome feeling. Blaire was another one who didn't like the fact that those three were discussing something away from all of them. Even more so knowing that Hex privately spoke to Rabid and Ludi before they left. "He realized the Royals were going about it the wrong way. He died trying to make a change, trying to make a difference." Rabid kept his sights on letters within his hands. He hand three of them, yet the third one seemed to be blank. He figured the message was hidden, but how and why was the tormenting questions that pecked at his mind. "What about the Guardians? I'm sure their methods aren't as noble as they portray them to be." Ludi asked, seeing as Rabid wasn't going to open his mouth anytime soon. "This much is true. The Guardians created a monster of their own. They tried to make one single being to take on the rising kingdom and the Royal's Hauntmares that were spreading like wildfire. The corruption of the Fated Kingdom quickly consumed their great warrior. It turned against them and nearly wiped them all out. The Royals stepped in and saved most of them, housing them in Organ Island... Yeah, I'd like to hear that part of the story being told. The Royals, saving the SB haters, as if anyone would believe such a thing-" "But that is what happened, right?" Combo simply nods his head to Ludi. The mysterious being looked back at Rabid, wondering what was going through his mind now that all this information was given to them. "Why did Hex give these to me? What is the point if there isn't a way to stop the kingdom." Rabid finally spoke after a short pause. "Thought you'd be like your dad and try to figure it out, or finish figuring it out. Maybe you and your son can finally turn things around and stop this cycle from repeating itself." Once again the trio remained silent as Rabid continued to think. His mind was greatly conflicted, trying to figure out where to go from here, who can he trust, and who to gain more help from for whatever cause he planned on putting into motion. "I think... The Royals and the Guardians are suppose to work together." Rabid started off, trying to understand what his father was explaining. "Maybe... Or maybe not... You do know that the Guardians weren't always The Guardians, right?" Both of them looked at Combo with a bit of confusion. He smirked as he leaned back a bit, then lightly waved his head towards Blaire when she wasn't looking in their direction. "Cold-touch over there isn't a just a Guardian. Shes the up and coming queen of a secret society SB has under their belt. This frozen kingdom was discovered by Lord Fate years ago. He managed to thaw out their queen in attempt to prevent the disaster of the Fated Kingdom. Oddly enough, Lord Fate himself is just a puppet. His king lies and waits for the proper moment to step out of the shadows and reign over the Fated Kingdom." A short pause was presented as Ludi and Rabid thought they misunderstood Combo's words. "Yes, you heard me right. The rising kingdom was once overthrown and taken over. However, the kingdom itself remained intact. On the flip side, the kingdom consumed whomever thought they could control it, making their efforts pointless and only delayed the fate of the world... Something like that." Rabid was loosing hope, in himself, within his father, within the Royals and the Guardians, within this world in general. How do you stop something that can never be stopped? How do you destroy something that can not be destroyed? "I think I understand now," Ludi spoke, scratching his hat hard enough to sooth his thinking mind. He was putting the pieces together the more Combo talked, the more he thought about the letters Rabid allowed him to read, and the more he played Hex's words over and over in his brain. "And I think you're right, Rabid... The Royals, the Guardians, the Dark Digitals, and the Frost Empire... All of them are under one person, one king, in hopes to beat down this rising kingdom, in order to conquer the four corners of the world." "There is a problem with that plan though." Rabid started to speak, believing he understands what his father was trying to accomplish. "Lord Fate is on the brink of being taken over by his Dark-Heart. If that happens we'll have a psychopath ruling over four kingdoms-" "You're forgetting something." Combo interjected as he smirked a bit. "Maybe his Dark-Heart is suppose to take over and rule over one kingdom, the Royals. Lord Fate is a pawn that is about to end his line of work. The one pulling the strings here is still out there, calculating and operating within the shadows... Rabid, your father's dream is going to come true... You gonna follow his same mistake-" "Lets get some rest everyone, we're leaving early in the morning!" Blaire called to everyone, directing most of her attention to the trio sitting away from the group. Combo got the hint and smirked, then yawned and stretched as he slowly got up. Rabid's eyes held the letters within his hand tightly. as if debating if he should do something or not. Ludi noticed this and raised his eye brow a bit. "Rabid?" Ludi called softly, not wanting to startle the human but simply wanting to grab his attention. His attempt failed as he continued to fix his eyes upon the fire dancing on the logs. "Ooooh man. I think hes gonna do it." Combo comments as his smirk spread even more. Rabid's eyes narrowed more and more by the second. His breathing started to quicken and deepen. His fists balled up tighter and tighter as he continued to watch the fire. "Excuse me! I believe I-" "Enough!" Rabid shouts as he sprang to his feet and shot a menacing look at Blaire. She was speechless for them moment, mainly because she felt Rabid had now become a threat to her somehow. Ludi knew at that moment that Rabid decided his course of action. He stood up and looked at Pianta, nodding to her as if informing her of their intentions. She got the signal and also stood up, waiting for the next signal to come from Rabid. Suddenly three loud thunderous booms roared as flashes of light lit up the night sky for a quick second. The group gasped at Rabid, Ludi, and Pianta were wearing black robes, decorated to their liking with a number stitched on the back. The tension heated up the cool night air as the other quickly dropped into their fighting stances. Blaire displayed a calm anger as the Royals presented themselves. She didn't want to start a brawl just yet. She figured if they haven't attacked before then there must be a reason for them to reveal themselves at this moment. Seeing as Rabid seemed to be leading this small bunch, she directed her words towards him. "So, Rabid... You've got my attention..." |

Damn right I better have Blaire's attention. I think I see the line of logic leading to this course... and yet, I'm convinced it won't end well. |
| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |

Chapter 9: Memories of Old Kingdom Many, many, years ago... Organ Island floats high above the Advance Sectors. It didn't carry such a spooky vibe, in fact it looked rather majestic and peaceful. An odd looking path, built by some form of magical barrier, was set up so gaining access to the Island from the Advance Sectors was easy. Venturing through its lush forest and beautiful yet very large plants, you can finally see the massive castle and all its glory. Guardians roamed around the outskirts of the Castle. Back and forth they walked and ran, inside and outside they preformed their tasks and entered with ease. Labeled around the Castle was signs indicating that this was a branch of the science sector, its main campus being held at the HQ in Empire City. Going deeper into the depths of this facility, passing many doors and several workshops, labs and large testing rooms, we soon find a giant computer in the belly of this sleeping beast. A large spiral staircase leads to the main core of the computer, which was also massive in size and concealed several hundred feet below the Castle. Guards were posted at different checkpoints of this massive stairwell, for each checkpoint had large doors leading into rooms that were somehow connected to the main core. Lab-coat wearing furries and humans were present at the base of the core, making sure all went well and upgrading software if needed. Most of the people down there however were guards, each of them carrying different weapons. A majority of them held guns of some sort. The higher ranked officers wielded their own weapon of choice. "V.I.R.A...?" "Yes, her name is Vira, which is short for Virtual Intelligence Response Assistance." One of the lab-coats said to a young looking guard. He was wielding an assault-rifle. He looked around the enormous room and up the stairwell as the guy raised an eyebrow. "You must be new to this shift, correct?" The guard simply nods his head, still paying the guy no mind as he kept scanning the place. The lab-coat sighed and tugged at the newbie's arm. "Come, I'll introduce you to her." He says with a bit of annoyance. The guard followed, and soon they were standing in front of a small monitor built into the large machine. "Well, say hello to her." He insisted. The guard looked at the screen for a moment, then leaned forward a bit. "Um... Hello?" "Hello!" A female neko-like figure digitally appeared in front of the screen. She smiled and did a small introduction spin and dance before bowing to greet the man. He chuckled a bit and waved back. "I'm Vira, nice to meet you, new guy." She adds with a wink. The guard's smile deepened as he realized this A.I. had more personality than all of the guards set up down here. "Nice to-" Suddenly she becomes very serious, and instead of displaying a cool and calm blue color, the figure glows a red color as she gets into a fighting stance. "Intruder approaching! Two of them!" She shouts to everyone, scaring both the lab-coats and the guards. The alarm instantly goes off, flashing red lights as some compartments were being closed off. The lab-coats started to panic as the guards tried to calm them down and guide them to safety. They all quickly realized they were trapped like rats as large blast-doors came down with a loud boom, sealing them in while protecting them from whatever was trying to get in. "Vira! Open these doors!" "No can do! Protocol states that I shut down this entire area to prevent any-" "I don't care about protocol! I care about our lives! Now open these doors and get us out of here!" Another guard, older and bigger than the newbie, placed his hand on the shouting lab-coat. "It doesn't matter if she opens those doors or not. We wont make it to the first checkpoint." "How can you say that!" The guard answered his question as he points to a set of screens a few feet away from Vira's screen. He turned around as the newbie and a few lab-coats huddle around the screens. "It can't be. Isn't that a Royal?" "Which one is he?" "Is it that white one?" "No, I heard a Guardian killed him, so he must be dead." "You got it wrong, he killed the Guardian. That is why they call him White Death" "Enough." The older guard finally spoke. Everyone was silent as they stared for a moment, then turned their attention back on the monitors as they watched this robed figure walk towards the next checkpoint, leaving a trail of dead bodies. Suddenly it vanished in a white blur off screen. They started to panic as they couldn't see it anymore, checking all the monitors as if hoping it would show up at the next checkpoint. A loud banging sound came from above them. It was so loud that they heard it even thought they were miles and miles below the source of the sound. The last booming bang hand a metallic ring to it, as if something was ripped off. Then silence fell across the room. Not a sound was heard as they all tensed up and shifted their eyes from side to side, looking around to try and stretch their hearing to the checkpoints. Crash! Two large and thick metal doors pounded into the floor behind the crew gathered at Vira's terminal. Their hearts were in their throats as the doors flopped to the ground. The impact of the drop left two large dents in the floor while kicking up a bit of dust. Suddenly another object lands with a mighty boom. The power of its touchdown cleared the dust away. A black robed being slowly stood to its full height from its crouched position. Fear and terror chocked every single soul in that room as they all stared at the white hands sticking out of the sleeves. The guards were paralyzed as none of them motioned to attack or engage this intruder. "Well now... We meet again, White Death." The older guard spoke, taking a few steps towards the being. The others watched in awe, in shock, and in pure suspense as the guard continued to move towards this cloaked person. Finally he stood about a foot away from the robed one and remained still. The being didn't even look at him, nor did it acknowledge his presence. "Right... Aren't you mission someone?" As soon as he spoke those words another robed being appeared in a loud thunderous boom and a quick flash of lighting. The gray wolf tossed back his hood, revealing himself to be Ezekial. "As promised, you will be allowed in our sanctum where your safety is assured." The guard looked at Ezekial for a moment, then nods his head and walked passed the two robed one. Once that was done Ezekial put his hood back on, for two reasons. Reason one was to protect his identity. Everyone down here would be dead in a matter of seconds, seeing as his 'partner' was itching for the order to kill. The second reason was that he was done surveying the room. Ezekial had gathered more than enough information about his surrounding, which made him question the power of this Dark-Heart standing next to him. "What should of took this thing twenty minutes took him two seconds. Even with his speed and sword skills, I should of gotten here first. Judging by the small craters under his feet, I'd say he dropped the entire way down. A drop like that would kill anyone before they even reach the ground. Everyone expect Lord Fate. I'm guessing that is why it took that drop like nothing..." "You gonna kill them all, or should I..." It spoke, cutting off his train of thought. His voice slightly echoed. It was haunting and would bring a shivering chill down anyone's back. The casualness of his voice made the wickedness seem so natural, as if evilness made up his entire soul, if it had one. "I have my goal, and you have yours." The wolf replied. With that said Ezekial started to walk towards Vira's terminal. Two steps into his stride he heard the screams and shouts of bloody murder, along with flesh ripping and bones breaking. Six steps later the Dark-Heart was walking at his side, partly covered in blood as it held its pure white blade within its hand. Dead bodies laid across the room, a few of them Ezekial simply stepped over, wishing their deaths didn't end by the likes of this thing walking next to him. "You... They're..." Vira started, feeling trapped and helpless in her monitor. "You're sick!!" She shouts, stomping her feet in rage as she looked around the room. Everywhere she looked there were corpses and blood gathering under the bodies. "Sorry you had to witness that." Ezekial starts off, stopping in front of her terminal as he lifted up a black flash drive with an odd looking green liquid coursing through it. "W-what are you doing?" Ezekial ignored her as he pressed a few buttons once a keyboard slid out from under the monitor. "Stop it!! Stop that right now!" She shouts, when suddenly a loud bird screeching came from above. Soon, a giant elegant eagle-looking bird lands where the Dark-Heart made his landing. Yami quickly leaps off his mount and fixed his eyes on the white being and Ezekial. "Vira!" "Yami!! Please help!" Yami didn't need to be told twice as he narrowed his eyes. The wolf looked over his shoulder for a second, recognizing Yami as one of the new SB Guardians. "Take care of him, but don't-" Before Ezekial could finish telling the Dark-Heart not to kill Yami, the being was already in motion. Two seconds went by and the white robed being was leaping towards Yami with its sword over its head, ready to bring his blade down and split him in half. A strong rush of wind cast the being aside as Yami tossed his arms up, summoning the strong wind to defend himself against his attacker. He was surprised himself when he saw that his little trick worked. Of course, he managed to scare his mount away as it flew back up the spiral staircase. After a moment or two he realized now was his chance to advance on the wolf. Sprinting forward he readied a ball of wind to hurl at the other robed one. The more it swirled and spiraled in his hand the bigger it got. Finally he was at a safe distance to launch it without getting a kickback from the force of it. Still running he pitched it at the wolf, only to slide to a halt as the white being slid in the line-of-line. A stronger gust of wind shattered the attack as a mighty spiritual aura began to swirl around the white being. Clearly it was angered, enraged that it was tossed aside so effortlessly. It began to slowly lift its head up, slowly revealing its face inch by inch. "Got it-" "Yaaaami!!" Vira shouts in a glitch-like manner. She dropped to her knees and clutched her head as the wolf took two steps back and watched the damage he had done. A black liquid started to flow through the entire computer room, changing it, reforming it, corrupting it. "Dark-Heart, we're done here." The wolf adds as he looked at the being. For a moment he thought it ignored him as it continued to stare at Yami with murderous intent. Finally it relaxed its shoulders and simply nods once. Two thunderous booms and a flash of lighting caused the two of them to vanish from sight. A bit confused at their departure, Yami realized it was safe to rush to Vira. He reached her within a few seconds, sliding to a halt as he tried to stop whatever was happening to her. "Y-Y-Yami! Make it s-s-s-s-s-stop! Save me please! I don't want to forget you! I don't want to not-not-not love you! Please-please!" She shouts and whimpers. Yami was clueless. He didn't know what to do. He tried pressing different keys but nothing happened. Suddenly he got an idea and held up his ring to her virtual body. "I'll save you. I'll bring you back. You will remember me, you will remember our love." He tells her as his ring started to collect her memory. He was pleased to see that it was working, seeing as she is an A.I. he didn't think collecting her memory would work. Once he obtained it a suddenly explosion roared out and threw him a few feet back. He slid on the floor a bit before coming to a stop. The alarms began to blare louder as the room filled with black smoke. They soon stopped at the computer and large machine as eighty percent reformed with a dark vibe. He slowly sat up after stirring himself to open his eyes. Confused and dazed he began to look around, until he saw Vira. His mouth hung open in amazement. She wasn't a virtual being anymore. She was right in front of him, in the flesh, standing in the mist of the black cloudy smoke that was slowly fading. She looked a bit different however, her clothing for one. A menacing look was displayed on her face, which struck a bit of fear in his heart. She turned to him and blinked a few times. His heart began to race because she was staring at him as if she didn't even know him. "So... Are you my new play thing until I kill you, or did you summon me into being? Protocol says you're not whom I take orders from. So either I kill you, or you take me to..." She paused for a moment, wondering why this male was looking at her in a strange manner. "I... Um... I have this ring... I-it'll help you-" "Thanks... Now do I get to kill you?" She replied, appearing before him in a blink of an eye as she snatched the ring from him. She looked at it for a moment, wondering what it was for. Suddenly a surge of memory rushed into her mind as she jerked her head back and widen her eyes. After a few moments she gasped and dropped to her knees. She pants a bit as she looks around, realizing she isn't in the computer anymore, but outside, living flesh, in the real world. "I'm..." She utters, only to turn her attention to Yami as she saw him move towards her. Her eyes grew big as they watered. She smiled deeply and flung her arms around him as she embraced him tightly, whispering 'thank you' over and over again. Her last few words were 'you saved me,' to which Yami remained silent as he embraced her back. He could only wonder what the Royals were planning to do with her. Now that her memory returned and whatever plans they had for her were gone, he guessed he would never know. He was unaware that she didn't lose her new memory, but simply filed it away, waiting for the one who brought her to life to come for her... Present Time "Virus." Fenroar called to her. She snapped out of her trip down memory lane as she turned to him. She realized it was dark out now. They were nearing a clearing in a forest. The grassy ground slowly became sand, to which a desert was being presented. Oddly enough a large river flowed right through this desert. "I see smoke in the distance. Several miles from here I think." Fenroar was still bothered by how his voice changed so much ever since he put on the robe. It masked who he was perfectly, he just didn't get use to it yet. "I see that... The Guardians are trying to awake their sleeping kingdom." She replied, to which he looked at her a bit confused. A sleeping kingdom? Virus got the feeling that he didn't understand what she was talking about. She sighed a bit and started to explain. "Frost Empire, ever heard of it?" For the sake of his identity Fenroar played dumb. He knew of this empire thanks to Cross and his brother. At times he would forget who was who. Virus saw through his lie though, yet she still played along seeing as she had no right to judge a person for keeping secrets. She has her own, mainly how she wasn't even real until some odd years ago. "Its the Old Kingdom SB had before the Guardians took over-" "Frozen by a mystical ice that never melts. Supposedly its a powerful spell that has suspended their movements." Virus blinked a few times. She wasn't sure if she was more annoyed at being cut off like that, or the fact that he knew what she was talking about from the start. "That is one of the myths I've heard at least. Didn't think it was real though." Once again his lying betrayed him as she squinted her eyes with more annoyance. "Right... Sure... Regardless, that is where the Guardians are heading now. This explains the camp fire smoke we see-" "So where we heading?" He cut her off again, finding a nice sized rock and sitting upon it. She huffed a bit as she slowly and tightly closed her eyes, easing her frustration a bit as she opened them again. "Our master wants us to seek out an outlaw. A group of them actually-" "Ever thought that they found us first?" She motioned to shout at him for cutting her off again, yet his question proved to be a good one. She was in such a memory daze that she wasn't aware of her surroundings. Fenroar knew they were being followed for some time now, or rather someone made their approach but kept their distance. "Can't do a damn thing right." That voice caused her heart to beat loudly as her eyes widen for a second before narrowing with rage and hate. "Konos..." Fenroar spoke up, remembering his name well as he made it his mission to teach this guy a thing or two about manners. They both were surprised though. He wasn't wearing his robe. Without it he looked so different, so much like Cross and Faith. Actually, he was a complete blend of both of them. White cloth-like-mask covering his nose, mouth, and chin, black cowboy hat, panco-like-robe, chains hanging from his black jeans, boots with spurs, X shaped designs instead of crosses on his jeans and hooded panco, and the same hair style as Cross. "Boss man didn't want ya to find the outlaws, he wanted ya to stop the little shits trying to awaken their pathetic little kingdom-" "Enough!" She shouts as she retains herself from producing her claws and ripping this cowboy apart. She only didn't do so because there was someone else standing next to him, who also looked like a cowboy of sort. Also, Fenroar had stepped in front of her as he stuck his arm out to stop any advancement from her. "Wait..." He adds, thinking for a moment as he recalled something Faith told him a long time ago. "My brother isn't fit to be a Royal, too focused of rebuilding a dead kingdom. 'Whats lost is lost' I'd tell him. Ha, he even renamed it Lost Kingdom. He'll come back with a vengeance, Fen. He'll see to it that the Guardians pay for what they did-" "Konos Gunler, AKA Gun Slayer... Three knights in one, the triple threat..." Fenroar states, remembering more details Faith had shared with him. "No, kid. The threat isn't even here yet... But yeah, Konos the Gun Slayer is who I am." "Then this is... TC, Tactic Flint Sniper. He was one of the exiles when the Frost Empire was overthrown." Konos smirked at Virus's comment. He shook his head as he crossed his arms. "No, computer bug. This slugger right here is the next king. Diamond Trigger is returning, and we wont stop until you Royals and Guardians are dead." Movement could be heard behind Virus and Fenroar. Apparently these two weren't alone. A good large group of other outlaw-like characters revealed themselves. Before the two royals could even get ready to fight, two loud thunderous booms came from the camp fire not too far from them. Fenroar instantly got an idea and he formed up next to Virus. "Yeah I know what you're thinking. I thought of it first just so you know." "Yeah sure, now get moving." Fenroar replied to her. Within a second the neko-cat was gone, and suddenly their surroundings glitched several times before setting at the camp ground the other was group was at. Half of the outlaws only came with them, which confused both Rabid, Blaire, and the others as they watched these new comers glitch into appearance before them. Yami instantly spotted Virus, knowing it was her despite the robe she wore. In fact, Yami always knew, one of their many secrets they kept for themselves. He made a mental note that she was several feet up on a tree branch. All was silent as everyone was puzzled and confused. This peaceful moment was no doubt the calm before the storm. Like the changing wind, it only took a matter of seconds before a mass brawl explodes within the camp ground... The sound of fierce battles fill the night sky... Ah, only a mention, and there's all of my presence in this fanfic. xDD I'm definitely enjoying the read, though. Plenty of story to keep me wondering on the scenes around and backstory (possibly from previous =SB= storys?). |

Yeah, sorry about the short mention there. Like I said via pm, I had/have bigger plans for your guy... Anyways, here be the next chapter. Hope you enjoy. ![]() Chapter 10: Tactic, Purge, and the Fight Three months after Organ Island was taken over A feather lightly waved from the flow of air that entered into the dark room. The feather was attached to a leather looking cowboy hat, yet the hat itself was not big or elaborate. A snake-skin strap circled around the top part of the head-wear, which was holding the feather in place so it wouldn't fly away. Beneath the hat were a pair brown eyes covered by bangs that slightly swayed to the right. This swift fox, wearing his cowboy/indian attire, took his eyes off the gun within his hand and watched as two people entered through the large black wooden doors. His feet were propped on a black desk. A bunch of papers were stacked upon it as well as several data pads. Around the room were large glass containment tubes. Most of them were filled with a green or dark blue liquid, along with some form of object, creature, or was completely empty. A few of them were covered with large black drapes that prevented anyone from looking at them. Along the walls were machines, wires, and other electronics. The fox could hear the two talking with each other as he waited for them to reach the desk he sat at. It was a good walk, seeing as the room was like a large yet narrow hall. "Stupid little shits tried to retake this place. Idiots..." Konos spoke out, smirking with an evil delight as his words, more towards his insults. Rabid smirked back, as if he agreed. Oddly enough, Rabid was one of the few people who got along with Konos. Besides his rude manners, there was more to Konos most people didn't know about that only him and another knew about. That other person was TC, the person who was waiting for them to reach the desk. "Well, we have a more pressing matter. Wardrobe fashion sense is now going to be applied." Konos looked at Rabid with a confused expression. The brown haired human smirked more as he shook his head. "Guess you didn't here. Apparently we're being issued robes now. Something about better control and more powers." "Bull... They're just scared cause my Dark-Heart nearly whipped out Starlight Central." Konos replied, to which Rabid simply shrugged his shoulders as they finally reached TC. "If I recall, Gun Slayer, it nearly killed you and half the Royals." TC's tone wasn't one of anger or seriousness. In fact, it was flat, as if he was simply stating a fact. The cowboy could only nod in agreement, thinking for a moment as the looked at one of the covered tubes. It was the largest one in the room and set off to the right of desk. Three symbols were engraved above it on the stone wall behind it. This tube was also the only one to have a magical barrier around it and no form of electronic of machine hooked up to it. The three symbols were a cross shape on the left, a warp looking symbol to the right, and two guns forming an X in the middle. "I didn't lose any sleep over it. Those bastards deserve to die. After they took Diamond Town from us, I'll put bullets in all of them if given the damn chance. I'll spit on there corpse and piss on them for what they did." As brutal and enraged Konos sound, both Rabid and TC couldn't help but agree. Rabid spoke up to confirm this. "Killing them wont satisfy the punishment they deserve. We have to make them suffer, both the Empire and the damn Royals." "Agreed. This is why we're going to kill their queen." "Get the hell out of here. You know how many damn attempts there are on Ms. Fields head? Planeswalker's dad was the only one to get close enough to see the whites of her eyes. You really think the last three Triggers will be able to step right up to her and drop a bullet in her head?" Konos protested, thinking TC lost his mind. Rabid didn't argue his objection, as he knew TC wouldn't simply state something without having a full-proof plan. "I expect us to fail, yes. However, we're not really going to kill her. As Planeswalker said, they deserve a fate far worse than death." "Alright, fox, I'm listening. Speak your damn mind already." Konos interjected, to which the fox finally removed his feet off the desk and stood up. "Gather your brothers, Gun Slayer. We'll need them for our-" "What the flipping hell were we just talking about! You do know what happens when us three meet up, don't ya? I mean, shit man. You want a damn blood bath I'll gladly-" "Konos, shut the hell up and let him speak." Rabid silenced the cowboy. He only grunted an insult and crossed his arms as he tapped his foot a few times. "Three brothers, three Gun Slayers, apart they are deadly but together they wake up Threat, your Dark-Heart revealed." TC spoke, causing for both Rabid and Konos to look at him weird. The fox shrugged and smirked a bit. "Guardians already got a myth about you and your Dark-Heart. Thought it was a bit catchy." He adds, making Konos roll his eyes with a playful annoyance look while Rabid smirked a bit. "This brings me to my next point. This is the third anniversary of the Guardians Festival. Two days from now they'll have their parade and big celebration for birthing these so called Guardians-" "Idiots don't even know their core members has Diamond Town survivors in it. Plus, half of their ranks are filled with bloody Royals." TC blinked a few times as Konos shook his head with a smile, enjoying his own mocking of the Empire. The fox cleared his throat and proceeded to explain. "I'm one of the head body guards for the queen. I'll gain access to all her key routes while Planeswalker assembles the rest of our team. Konos and his brothers will produce the distraction by terrorizing the parade-" "In hopes that we don't awaken my Dark-Heart, sure thing..." The cowboy comments, looking again at the tube with the three symbols above it. Rabid and TC could sense the fear in Konos. Even though he tried to be tough, deep down he feared for his life. "These new robes the Master is issuing to all the Royals is suppose to prevent the lack of control for any Dark-Heart, even an Enemy Class." "Yeah, swell and all. But one problem, fur ball... My Dark-Heart is a Threat Class Dark-Heart. Threats are higher than Enemies." "I thought there wasn't anything higher than an Enemy Class?" Rabid asked with a puzzled looked. Konos shook his head as he fixed his eyes on the floor. "I'm a different case they told me. This Dark-Heart isn't just mine apparently, its all three of ours, which makes it much stronger than your average Enemy Class. They called it a Threat Class because it doesn't just threaten the host, but every person around it..." Silence fell for a moment as the three paused and reflected on this news. "This is why I'm bringing them along with me." TC finally comments as he tapped the desk a few times. Two people came from behind a door that lead to one of the back rooms of this hall. "Ludius? As in the Chaotic Mage of Diamond Town?" Rabid asked, to which Ludi simply nods as he placed his hand on the little girl standing in front of him. "At your service, I guess." He comments, making sure the girl in front of him didn't run behind him out of shyness. "Ludi was the one who gave birth to Virus. He took DNA samples from his sister who was lost to the-" "We're bringing a damn kid with us?" Konos asked, ignoring the mage's story TC was explaining as he looked at the little girl. "This is Aurorae, my daughter." Ludi comments after a moment. Pianta barely smiled or waved, putting on a sour and mean face to show her bravery in front of the two men, mainly towards Konos seeing as she already got bad vibes from him. "Right... Not gonna ask how or with whom, but I'll be damned if we're bringing a snot nose little punk with us-" "Speak about her like that again, and I'll make all your insides be on the outside... Got it?" Konos narrowed his eyes as he moved his hands on his two large pistols. He didn't even realize he did so until Rabid gently elbowed his arm. The cowboy just glared for a moment before he decided to ignore his comment and focus on TC. "Game plan... Spit it out." He ordered, to which TC didn't take any offense and simply nods his head. "We're going to freeze the Imperials, encase them in a magical barrier... Forever..." Although Konos loved the sound of this idea, something was off. TC's mood changed drastically as he thought about his next words. This part frightened him till no end, making him shake a bit the more he thought about. "I'm not only doing this to make the Empire suffer for the Purge that hit Diamond Town. I'm looking ahead to our future, to our survival..." He paused once more as he tried to muster up enough courage to continue. "Ever herd of the Fated Kingdom..." Present Time In the mist of the chaos that erupted the gun wielding trio managed to find each other and form up, all of them back to back as they watched for any attacks coming their way. "Shit, didn't think we'd be doing this again. Brings back damn good memories." Konos comments with a dull tone as he watched Yami rush towards Pianta for an attack. "Back then you pretended to have no spine and toughed things out. Now you've lost all feelings and became a grumpy cowboy." Rabid comments as he searched for Blaire, feeling as if she was also searching for him to begin their brawl. "Yeah well, that kinda happens when your Dark-Heart reawakens and kills ya... Oh, I didn't get the chance to tell ya, partner, but your old plan sucked ass. Hope you gotta better one this go around." His last few comments were directed at TC. The fox was currently fixed on Ludi who was engaging Ajkunai. "Yes... Yes I do... Kill the queen, free the king, unleash the demon, awaken death, find the source, ignite it, watch the world burn... Then fight the Knight for dominance... Fated Kingdom equals conquered." Despite that Konos was busy watching the many other battles, becoming angered as his outlaws were being tossed around by the Guardians and Royals, he was bit confused by TC's 'new' plan he spilled out. "The queen is Blaire, the king is himself, the demon is Threat, death is Fate's Dark-Heart, the source is Fate, igniting it summons the Fated Knight, watch it destroy SB and the Empire, fight and kill the knight to finally takeover the Fate Kingdom... Any questions?" Rabid explains, to which TC nods his head and spoke. "Yes, one actually. Why do you think the king is me? You're the king I was talking about." Rabid looked over his shoulder for a moment at TC, who only returned the stare and nods his head to confirm his words were true. It was at that moment that he caught Blaire in his sights. Her eyes searched until they finally met with Rabids. They both exchanged glares for a moment before Rabid shoved TC out of his way while Blaire sprinted towards the sniper. She launched several ice shards at him while readying a stronger attack within her other hand. Rabid managed to dodge a few of them and was forced to block the rest of them with his gun. Finally they met and clashed with force as she launched a powerful punch towards him. He managed to block her attack, however the impact knocked his gun out of his hand. He felt a quick bite of frost at his hands, which made him noticed that his gun was now encased in ice from her punch. Before he could defend himself against Blaire she managed to use her speed and round house kick him in the chest. He stumbled back and winced a bit as he grunted in anger. She was already attacking again as he regained himself. He blocked her punch with his forearm but failed to stop her knee that rammed his right rib cage. He grunted once more as he prepared to block another attack. This time he caught her foot that was meant to strike his face. She suddenly yelped loudly as she kicked him away with her other foot, preforming a backhand spring and landing on her feet. She quickly glanced as her ankle and realized her jeans had a burn mark there. At this point she could feel the overly warm sensation rising within her shin. She fixed her eyes upon him once more, now putting two and two together as he let a large flame dance within his hand. The two of them stared each other down as they waited for the other to make a move. It seemed like they were debating which actions to take, as if planning out their attacks and figuring out the best way to conquer their opponent. "What the hell did I ever do to you, Planeswalker." Blaire asked with a stern and demanding tone. Rabid had to bite his tongue from flipping out and shouting at the top of his lungs, most of his speech would be insults and swear words. He managed to formulate the proper words to say. "Not sure when Lord Fate 'thawed' you out, but if you can, think back so many years ago... Diamond Town, the Purge, millions of deaths, containment, families ripped apart, kids become father and motherless, blood flooded the streets... Should I keep going?" Blaire thought about the words he spoke. She blinked a few times, thought some more, then replied as she adjusted her feet for a better fighting stance. "The crime rate in Diamond Town was high and the Royals were becoming a greater threat to the Empire then one single town. We collected information that the Royals were hiding within Diamond Town. So we vanquished the entire town to rid of the threat-" "You cold hearted piece of shit! The damn Royals ARE the Empire! They didn't come from some outside source, or from any part of the world. They came from the Empire itself! And don't give me that crime rate bull crap! The Triggers, who were the law in that town, the only people who were allowed to carry a firing weapon in that place, made damn sure that they kept the peace and established a comfortable way of living... Five people survived the Diamond Town Purge, only five damn-it... How the hell did you sleep at night..." Blaire expressed no emotion but her serious and stern one. She listened, twitched a bit when insulted, but remained calm as she let him finished. She waited a moment to see if he had anything else to say, then proceeded to reply. "Diamond Town wasn't the only town we Purged... You act like I was the one who ordered it. Even though I was the queen, that ordered was not left up to me. Lord Fate overruled my objection to the purges, much like he overrules me now. On the day you and your 'Diamond Triggers' decided to attack the parade, I learned that Lord Fate was the head leader of the Royals. When he freed me from my eternal slumber many years later I noticed that the world had changed. No one would believe me if I told them Fate was the brains behind the Royals. I knew no one from this era, and no one knew me... Well, expect you." She paused for a moment, watching his expression to see if he was still enraged despite all that she told him. "So, you still want to end my life-" "Yes." He quickly answered. The flame within is hand grew larger and soon spawned a staff-like weapon, a halberd to be exact. Now she knew Rabid was still heated. He only resulted to using his staff when he wanted to get in someone's face and do major damage. "Are you going to tell me why?" She asked as she formed two ice swords and twirled them once to get the feel of them. "You could of done something. You could of saved so many lives... You could of saved my mother..." She had nothing to say to this. It made sense to her now though, why his father attempted to kill her. Suddenly her eyes widen as all thoughts escaped her mind. Rabid saw her expression and quickly looked behind him. His eyes were filled with the same terror as hers. Dark clouds quickly loomed over head as a bit of thunder lightly roared. "Tactic... What the hell have you done..." |

Y'know, after this chapter I can't help but feel Ludi's personality has shades of this guy's. Calm and collected on the outside, but if someone hits the right trigger he becomes real cruel, real quick. Notably to Konos after his comments about Aurorae. But perhaps that's just me. Interesting to learn I was responsible for the Virus incident too. Clever way to handle it. Things that didn't make sense to me before seem to be coming together after these three chapters. Suddenly it's all a little less random and most motives are accounted for. This is good. Looking foward to seeing how this confrontation concludes. |

Sandopolis Act 2

So my initial guess was wrong. Just plain payback huh... Though it looks like vengeance is about to take a backseat to survival... |

Sandopolis Act 2
|
Okay. Okay. Okay okay okay. -breathes- I'm still kind of confused about a lot of things. xD; But, I'll leave that be for now and comment on the things I do understand somewhat. Regarding Chapter 9: 1) How old are Trix/Vira and Yami? xD I mean, Vira technically doesn't age, but Yami should (I think). Unless he was super young and sweet and innocent here. Aww~. <3 2) Even though it makes her seem young and childish... I can totally see Vira spinning and dancing just for the heck of it. xD I imagine she was kind of a cutie when she was "young"--helpful and sweet, and always curious. As for her--an AI--having more personality than a bunch of guards? Totally canon in my mind~. 3) Who's the guard who got away??? I mean, if I read/understood that correctly. Was he a traitor? 4) Ezekial you arse. You made Vira change from a sweet and curious AI to a total nutty demon-cat/"birch tree" apparently. xD; 5) I love what you wrote with Yami and Vira. Strange love that works for them~. Vira seems kind of like a whiny damsel in distress, but... seeing as how she was probably dependent on others for everything as an AI, it seems to work. Also... the sadness in this chapter comes from the fact that Vira was progressively learning about emotions--including what "love" was and what it "felt" like to her. She's probably scared of what she doesn't know--including mysterious black flash drives with strange green liquids in them and the effects they have. 6) RANDOM KEYBOARD MASHING AND DETERMINATION FIXES EVERYTHING. Maybe even makes it better. 7) Yami's determination is adorable. <3 8) Ahhh, and then Virus is born. ("Born?") No wonder she's all crazy and loves violence. She's corrupted. I like how Yami managed to preserve her memories/data, though. ^^ And that moment when she realizes/remembers she's "alive"... Absolutely, she's crying tears of joy. Once she started learning about emotions, she'd start to wish she knew what "being alive" was like. I love how you wrote the moment. ^^ But--oohhhh. Foreshadowing. I now wonder what she feels towards Yami and her allegiances... Keeping in mind with the character, I'd say she still loves Yami (in her own way) and doesn't really hold allegiance to anyone. But, I could be totally wrong. = D 9) Hahaha! Her frustration is perfect to her character. Nice. x 3 Though, she seems to be losing her touch. Eep... Virus, you have to stay on top of your game. You should be the one reading minds and surprising people. I also feel bad--any "knowledge" she has is based on information she's been "fed." When she gets something wrong, it actually gives her a sort of anxious depression. 10) Yami always knew everything Virus was up to? Interesting... Regarding Chapter 10: 1) IS VIRA/VIRUS TECHNICALLY LUDIUS'S SISTER? This is awesome. 8 3 And he created Vira/Virus? Wooooow..... 2) What is Pianta's role again? I'm sort of lost on her. If Yami's fighting her... I'm confused. Who's on whose side again? xD; 3) ROUNDHOUSE KICKS YES. 4) Wow. Rabid and Blaire... wow. Much history and fighting between these two. I'm impressed. Fire versus ice, to boot. 5) ... Who is Tactic and what did he/she do? Another thing I'm wondering. If all the Empire (Royals?) fell asleep... was Virus alone for all that time? Or was she trapped too? Hmmm... |
