Sandopolis Act 2

With you saying that, it leads to some rather unpleasant implications, I'll say. I mean, who were the two with Tricks again? Yami, and... -gestures towards self.-

| Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk. | |

Teh! The rest you'll have to figure out yourselves!! xD Honestly though, I figured that if no one got it that she was the villain in this chapter then I'd just say it anyways(not to mention it would be all over chapter five xD) The reason why this is, is because there are a lot of factors in this story that make revealing her as a villain rather small. You have Rabid, Fenroar, and Ludi keeping a secret from Lord Fate(not to be confused with his son Lilfate), the fact that Lilfate is still alive, something happened to Rabid to make him all mean and unfriendly, Fenroar now joining the Royals as a spy, not to mention everyone thinks Fenroar is dead, Cross and Faith being double agents for Fate and Fenroar, the mystery of Otogi origins, and what exactly is Tricks up to and is she the head of the snake... So yeah, a lot of factors so far which I consider them to be bigger than finding out Tricks a bad girl... In the long run, of course... Thats all I'll say for now, I don't wanna say too much cause I might have said too much already. xD |

Sorry for the wait everyone!!! Next chapter here we go!!! x3 NOTE: there is most likely so many errors as I didn't even skim through it cause I wanted to post this as soon as possible, so sorry for that guys! >__< Chapter 5: Death Chain "Oof!" Yami mumbles as he lands on his rear. He was drenched, cloths, hair, his entire body was completely wet as he dripped a nice size puddle under himself. The hard wood floor repelled the water as it didn't drink it in. The sun was out, shining brightly as bird calls could be heard. It was clear they were at sea bound as he looked at the sparkling water stretching pass the horizon. It didn't take him very long to figure at they were on a boat, or a ship rather. To be more exact, a pirate ship. The wood was a dark green color, and the sails were black. A flag waved above the crows nest, displaying a single silver mark that looked like it was slicing a leaf in half. Yami felt a tug on his throat and flopped onto his back while yelping a short ouch. He quickly remembered Pianta had 'leashed' him as he pulled on the transparent collar. "You couldn't drop us off ON the boat!?" Pianta shouts as she wrings out the water from her the bottom half of her dress, still keeping the chain part of Yami's leash in hand. "I second this... I don't enjoy being soaked in sea water." Ludi adds as he too tried to dry off his cloths. "I thought it was refreshing..." Otogi spoke up, lowering her voice as everyone gave her a dirty look. She nervously smiles as she wrings the water out of her hair. "No..." Red suddenly blurts out. His eyes were widen as he looked around. The more he scanned the ship the more he became frighten. "This isn't real..." He spits out randomly, taking a step back but realizing that he couldn't get very far since he was on a ship. "Red? Are you okay?" Otogi asked as she slowly and cautiously took a step towards him. "Yes, you are aboard the Wind Razor." Taylor finally states. He was annoyed at the rookie's disbelief. He couldn't understand why all the new guardians were afraid of this ship. Actually, he knew why, he just couldn't understand the logic of the reason. "Lads..." A dark and looming voice echoed above them, turning Red's face white as a ghost as he slowly turned around to look at the speaker. His mouth parted in fright as he took another step back, this time in the other direction. "You got ten seconds to give me a reasonable answer as to why ye be on my ship... The extra five seconds is a courtesy of being in Fate's presence... Now speak, or the winds will cast you out starboard side." The man's voice was rough, deep, and inhuman. His words were steady, like a rhythm of death itself. Standing next to him were two others. To his right was another human looking being. He wore a black and white attire; white long sleeved jacket, black shirt, black and white sneakers, backwards cap that was also black and white, and finally black finger-less gloves. His arms were crossed as he stared at everyone blankly. To the left was a wolf, wearing a black biker jacket that was open. He wore jeans and dark grey sneakers. His tail was longer than average, something he is noted for besides his tattoo on his leg, hidden by his jeans yet almost everyone knows its there. "I speak on behalf of the High Command when I say this... We are official at war with an unknown force... The =SB= Base was attacked, mainly the academy, and your ship was the safest location I could think of." Fate addresses the man as he stepped forward. "He wasn't talking about the entire group, Fate... He was talking to me." Cross interrupts as he joined Fate's said. "If ye knew whom I was addressing than why not speak up for ye self and have Fate waste his breath talking." Upon hearing this question question Cross just closed his eyes and shrugged. "You should know I'm a tad bit lazy when it comes to this kind of stuff-" "Down to five seconds now, boy." The man cut him off, his one eye beaming down on the urban cowboy. Red didn't noticed the eye patch until now. In fact, he heard many tales of this man, how he looked and what he can do, that he didn't notice what the guy was wearing until now. White long pirate coat, white jeans and white shoes, black with white trimming pirate hat, and a black eye patch. A gold saber-like sword hung off a black strap that was tied around his waist. "Captain Hex... We're short on time here, as you just heard. Our base has been attacked and we need to use your vessel as a temporary base." Pianta cut in, trying to keep her cool as she calmly spoke. This was a strange sight see, as Pianta isn't so polite to most people. Also, everyone knows that addressing Hex, let alone giving him orders, wasn't something he takes lightly. "When I want ye to speak, I'll address ye in such a-" "Father!" Pianta suddenly shouts, refraining from completely lashing out at him. Red and Otogi were shocked. They were never told that Hex was the father of Pianta. Truth was, he wasn't. He raised her long enough to be considered one. Plus, she normally used this as a tool to control Hex and get what she wants. She clears her throat as she remained calm and respectful while she spoke again. "I understand Cross use to be part of your Chain, and for whatever reason you kicked him out and still hold a grudge against him. That is fine and dandy, but at the moment we're at a crisis and need your full corporation. Can you put aside your grudge for the sake of SB?" Once she finished her speech an awkward silence fell. Everyone could sense a bit of tension in the air. "Captain-" "I know, Combo... It is fine." Hex tells the human male standing next to him. "Death Chain will assist ye on this quest to vanquish whatever evil has risen... Wolffe, prep the lower level for training and sparing." He informs them while giving the wolf next to him and order. Hex was the only one to use Ezekial's last name as his Guardian name. The wolf nods his head as the captain turned around and headed back to his quarters. "Wait... Training? On this ship? That is possible?" Otogi asked with a bit of excitement. By now Red had recollected his nerves, seeing as Hex wasn't as scary as all the roamers made him out to be. "The training isn't for you and Red, Otogi. The training is for the other guardians that can't seem to function properly in their own Chain." Ezekial informs them, to which Rabid shot a glaring look at the wolf, knowing he was referring to him. "Apparently your old Chain is being reinstated, Ludi. As for everyone else, you'll be put into different Chains until these knuckle heads can square everything out. While they have their little tea party, the rest of you will focus on your own strengths within different Chains. Also, you'll be breaking in the new guys. Can't have newbies running around without some solid training." Combo explains as Ezekial headed down the spiral stairs to the lower deck. "There is a problem with your plan," Taylor spoke up as he pushed himself off of the wooden rail he was leaning on. "Fenroar is dead. He was part of our Chain before I started my own Chain." "Right, cool fact and whatever. But you didn't hear me correctly. I said your old Chain, before Fenroar jumped into the picture... Meaning Fate is your Chain Commander... Savy?" Combo adds as he smirked a bit, thinking himself a bit clever just now. Taylor and Ludi stared each other down before fixing their attention on Fate. Fate on the other hand didn't bother to look at them. He remained focus on Combo for a moment. "Lets begin then..." Fate spoke up, then followed the wolf down to the lower deck. Luid quickly followed behind him, and Rabid soon after. "Now, the rest of you listen up. Here is your temporary Chains. Pianta and Red, you'll be with me. Yami and Otogi, you'll be with Ezekial. Cross... The Captain wants to see you in his chambers." "Huh... Figured that would be the case." Cross comments as he smirked and shook his head lightly. "I'm not letting this traitor out of my sight..." Pianta comments, tugging on the chained leash which made Yami grunt in pain a bit. "In case you forgot, Hex's ship is coated with some kind of... Weird magic of sorts... The only way of entering this ship is climbing aboard when its water-side. As you cans see, we're in the air." Combo informs her, to which Pianta realized he was right. The ship was now floating high above the waters below. "Its the same reason why Cross or his brother can't warp themselves or anyone else onto the ship... So relax. If he is a traitor, hes a dead man." Pianta didn't find comfort in his words. However, she trusted Hex, and everything that was apart him, which included this massively large ship they were on. Without saying a word she let go of the leash, causing it to vanish within seconds. Yami rubbed his throat as he felt relieved. With that out of the way, Yami joined Otogi and headed to the lower deck. Combo leaped over the railing and lands in front of Red, causing the boy to step back a few feet with a nervous look displayed. "Well, Mr. Hacker, or should I call you No Data Available?" Combo teased as he smirked more. Red shook his head as he planted his hand onto his face. "How does everyone know about that." He mutters to himself. Combo slaps him on the back with a loud 'ha.' This caused Red to move forward and almost go tumbling down the staircase leading to the lower deck. The boy got the hint and headed down while Combo took a moment to face Pianta. "There is a reason why Hex is speaking with Cross alone." Combo starts off. His voice was cold and oddly serious. His carefree attitude vanished in a blink of an eye as a different side of Combo was displayed. Pianta never liked this side of Combo. It reminds her why he is in the Death Chain. "As you know, Hex doesn't trust anyone, including Lord Fate... He trusts you though, so he asked me to give you this information..." He paused for a moment as Pianta moved closer to him, cupping her hands in front of her as she intensely listened to him. "What I'm about to tell you is for your own soul to hear and no one else." He adds, to which Pianta figured that part came from her father and not him. "Lilfate is alive... We found him before we found Lord Fate... The problem is the state we found him in. He was in a capsule of some kind. It was dark in nature, something even Hex couldn't manage to break open. There is a reason for this... There is a element within this capsule that isn't dark energy... Its digital." "So you're telling me his son was encased in some kind of dark-digital element?" She asked him as she herself didn't fully understand this. Combo nods his head. He looked at the floor as he spoke his next words, trying to figure out what he was about to tell her himself. "Red was found next to Lilfate." Pianta's eyes widen. She couldn't believe her ears. "We ran several tests on him, trying to figure out where he came from and why he was there with Lilfate. We recently found out that he has the same elements and energy signature as the capsule encasing Lilfate." "What... What does that mean?" She was confused, and yet all Combo could do his slowly shrug his shoulders. "We've been trying to figure that out. Cross and Hex were the ones that found them, which is why Hex is speaking with him. Cross would return to that same spot over and over again, which is how he ended up finding Lord Fate after he took off. We were trying to prevent Fate from going to Organ Island. I'm guessing that is where the master minds behind all this are." Pianta couldn't believe all this. It was too much to take in so suddenly. She shook her head lightly as she hated being lied to. This entire operation was filled with so much secrecy. In wouldn't surprise her that the Guardians and the High Command is some how responsible for all this. "Anything else I should know?" "Yeah, actually. Fenroar isn't dead." Pianta's eyes lit up with glee. She smiled a little as she thought about seeing Fenroar alive. At least there was some good news in all this. "Hes now our enemy though." Her smile quickly changed to a death-glaring frown as her eyes beamed into Combo's serious expression. "What the hell..." She utters in annoyance. Combo simply shrugged again at this comment. "What do we know about Tricks-" "Its Virus now, actually... She was tossing it all over the place when Cross first met her. She thought he didn't know it was her. It was obvious, who else walks upside on the ceiling?" He adds with a light smile. Pianta only uttered a 'hmp' as she thought for a moment, ignoring Combo's little joke. "Anyways, we have nothing as of right now. As for Yami, we're not sure he knew about her betrayal. We're counting on him to do so anyways. Until then, We'll use him to our advantage." "Right... Thanks for letting me know. Better head down there before we look suspicious ourselves." With that said he nods his head, and returned his ever so charming and carefree smile as they headed down to the lower deck... ----------------- Inside An Unknown Cave Structure "Nicely done..." Faith comments as he slowly clapped his hands a few times. Fenroar was panting a bit as he slowly stood up. The large room was filled with people in hooded robes, all moaning and groaning from the beat down he just gave them. "Didn't need to go all out though. I understand you're trying to impress the higher rank but... Over kill much?" Faith adds as he crossed his arms and smirks. Fenroar returned the smirk as he relaxed a bit. That was until he felt an odd presence above him. "Well look at you. Mr. Tough guy over here..." A voice came from above him. Virus, previously known as Tricks, dropped down from the ceiling and lands with a thunderous boom as her posture remained the same, arms crossed and feet together. She didn't even bend her knees upon landing. Her hood hide her glaring eyes as she fixed them upon the new arrival Faith brought, unaware that this was person was in fact Fenroar. "Still recruiting Faith? I thought I told you our auditions were closed." She asked him. Her stern voice was in place of an angered and aggressive shout. "I thought it was wrong to not include one of the Royal's son in our Awakening." Upon hearing this both Virus and Fenroar became confused. Luckily for both of them, their hoods covered up their expressions as they put on a front as if his words didn't phase them. Fenroar was trying to figure out if Faith was lying while Virus was trying to understand why he would state this. "I do not believe that a Royal would not inform me of all people about a son they might or might not have. I would ask how you obtained this shifty information, but I believe you're simply going to tell me without me having to force it out of you-" "I wouldn't make threats there, Virus. I'm not the one falling in love with the enemy. I wounder what the Royals would think of this. My guess is that their trust in you would be... What was that word you used...? Oh, right... Shifty." Not even her hood could cover up the amount of blushing Virus was displaying. She even tried to hide it more by lowering her head. Her anger and embarrassment was eating at her just by thinking about Yami. "At least give me a name, new comer-" "Sigma..." Fenroar cut her off. He surprised himself as his voice sounded different. Was it a subconscious thing? Couldn't have been. How can his body change his voice that drastically. "Sigma... Very well. Come with then, I'll introduce you to the XIII Royals. I'm sure one of them will recognize you shortly." She tells him. Fenroar didn't move. He wasn't going to go anywhere unless Faith told him to. "Do what you want. I'll stay here and clean up this mess he made here." Faith tells her. Fenroar took this reply as a 'go ahead' signal. He soon joined Virus who then started to lead him down the maze-like cave structure. It wasn't lonf until they reached a large chamber. Twelve small thrones lined up lead to one large throne that was at the head of them. Six thrones on one side, and six on the other side. In the middle was a large dark blue and white long run, leading to the large throne. The large room had statues, carvings on the wall, sculptures, paintings, stained glass, and thirteen chandlers, one hanging above each throne. The chandlers lit up the entire room, making it look light blue because of the color of the walls. Each statue, each carving, and each stained glass told a story of some kind. Some of them were similar, displaying a sphere being split in half as a dark substance or being was being released from it. Others had Hauntmares and other DarkHeart creatures. "Excuse the intrusion, Royals. But I have with me a chosen Unknown Royal whom I think you should meet." For a moment Fenroar thought she was talking to invisible people, as no one was sitting on the thrones. Suddenly a lough thunder-like sound boomed, summoning the twelve Royals to their thrones. They all displayed different mannerisms, some more relaxed than others, and others more intense and stir than others. Their robes differed in color and slightly in design. Fenroar looked to the large throne and noticed that it was empty. "What the hell is it?" One of them spoke. Fenroar had to focus a bit more on the speaker. Not because he was so far away, but because he sounded very similar to Cross and Faith. "T-this Unknown Royal has shown promise. He is eager to proof himself, as all the rest. However, I was informed that this Unknown Royal is in fact a child that belongs to one of you." Virus started off with a bit of nervousness. "Did you check his Heart-Status?" The same male spoke, propping one of his legs on the armrest of his throne while he slouched a bit. Virus blinked a few times knowing she didn't. "I was informed that only Rank III and up have a stable Dark Heart Status-" The male sighs with annoyance which forced her to stop speaking. "Did you check his Cloak Number?" Upon asking this question Virus leans back a bit to view the stitched number on Fenroar's robe. She swallowed hard a bit as she felt like an idiot at this point. "Forgive me, Royal Konos... I was informed that he just arrived so I assumed-" "What the hell is 'assuming' going to do for ya? Know your shit before you come bothering us about stupid crap." "Konos, ease down and show some manners. I'm sure Faith is behind this so let us hear her out before we 'assume' she is making a mistake." A female voice interjected from the other side of the room. Konos ignored her as he remained slouched and annoyed. The female that spoke, sitting up right and properly, turned to Virus and nods to her to let her know she can continue. Virus nods back as a form of thank and proceeded. "His name is Sigma and-" "Shit..." Konos uttered loudly upon hearing the name. Everyone who wasn't looking at Virus and Fenroar now focused strongly on them. The worried both Fenroar and Virus. Why would this name mean anything to them? It wasn't like Faith told him to pick this name. "Sigma..." A loud and deep voice rung out. It almost sounded like a large beast was talking. Fenroar and Virus spotted the large robed male, sitting closest to the head-throne. "Are you telling me that this Unknown Royal is Head Royal's son?" The large male asked. Virus wasn't sure of her answer now. She had to try and out do Faith by bringing this guy here without knowing everything. She simply thought it was lie, and now she is second guessing herself. "That is correct." Virus replied. She was a bit confused now. The Head Royal was part of the twelve under the Master Royal, the thirteenth Royal. Why wasn't he present either? "Well seeing as both Head Royal and Master Royal aren't here, I'd say screw the whole damn thing. If he is, then whatever. If he isn't, still whatever. This doesn't change a damn thing about our plans, nor should it if this crap is true. Once again you've wasted our time. Now piss off while I'm in a decent mood." As rude as Konos was, the other Royals knew he was right. Without waiting for her to leave Konos groans with annoyance and suddenly vanishes in a thunderous boom. The others shook their heads, then fixed their eyes on Virus again. "Virus, do not mind Konos. You time here was spent wisely. Thank you, and call on us again should you need anything else." The female tells her with a light smile. Suddenly the rest of them vanish the same way Konos did, leaving Virus and Fenroar alone in the large room. She sighs and dropped to her knees as she cupped her hands to her face. "I hate that guy... I truly hate him." He comments, keeping herself from crying tears of anger. Fenroar felt a bit bad for her. Even if she is his enemy, no one should be treated like that. He got down on one knee next to her and placed his hand on her shoulder. "I'll take his seat soon enough... You can count on it." He tells her with a stern voice. Once again he was surprised how his voice sounded nothing like himself. Virus sighs as she nods shook her head. "Doubt it... In case you didn't noticed, he is the Tenth Royal. You got a long way to go before you can even match his strength... Thanks for the comfort though." She tells him with a light smile. Fenroar stood up with her as she nods her head to let him know she was alright. "You do sound like him though, the Head Royal I mean. Maybe you're his son after all." She comments with a bigger smile. Fenroar could only nod his head to this. He wasn't sure if this statement was true or not, but he was willing to buy into this and find out. "As you know, I'm Virus, Head Trainer for the Royals. I train all the Unknown Royals. Don't think because you moved up in rank so quickly that you get to skip the training sessions." He tells him, dimming her smile a bit as she became more serious. "Come on, we have a lot to go over..." |

DUN DUN DUNNNNNNNNNN Anyways...several things to say/comment on. Trix is a trainer in both places? Cool. She does enjoy battles, after all. She isn't ashamed of loving Yami. She'd be embarrassed that it'd be viewed as a weakness. She hates it when people belittle her in some way. And Konos is a total freaking a-hole. Rawr. Hope the next chapter is up soon! ; P |

(Sorry for the long delay, here be the next one :D) Chapter 6: Royal Blood Rabid stepped off the last step that lead into the large open room. It looked like the cargo-holding room of the ship. It sized the entire length of the ship, pillars of wood for support, and cannons placed along the edge of the walls. Oddly enough the cannons weren't facing outward, but rather towards the center of the room. A few boxes and barrels were clustered together around the massive room. His steps echoed ever so slightly as he approached Lord Fate and Ludi. Fate had his back turned while Ludi sat on one of the barrels. His head was lowered slightly, indicating that his focus was upon the ground. The brown haired human took it upon himself to form a triangle among the three of them, leaning against one of the several pillars throughout the room. He crossed his arms and closed his eyes, sighing a bit as the trio remained calm and silent. The creaks of the wood created a steady rhythm, other wise the quietness within the air was the only thing audible. The odd factor within this setting was the lack of tension in air. Should anyone walk in and see them they would think these men were simply hanging around or not even there at all. Finally, Ludi broke the silence with a simple word. "So..." He started off, pausing to catch their attention first before he continued. "Virus blew her cover. I'd say 'unexpectedly' but, anyone could of seen that coming." "She was sloppy, arrogant, and distracted by mere emotions." Rabid added, a bit of annoyance flowing through. "As if you're one to talk, Head Royal. You decided to switch personalities like a psychopath. Lucky for us we have a 'somewhat' lame story to follow your change in character-" "I lied by telling the truth. I displayed who I am, what my feelings were and towards whom, which made me more realistic than that demon-cat parading around like an idiot, hoping to not get caught." Luid shifted his eyes towards Rabid for a moment, glaring underneath the darkness of his hat. "Maybe she wanted to get caught. Ever thought that you distanced yourself so far from both the Guardians and the Royals that you weren't aware of any changes in our plans-" "I'm well aware of every plan we've set forward, so don't mock my intelligence or question my resolve. You weren't around when we did this the first time." Ludi could only glare at Rabid's comment. He even managed to lean forward a bit, as if ready to leap off the barrel and attack the human. Once again silence filled the room, but this time the tension began to rise. That was until a small gust of wind whipped by. Both Ludi and Rabid looked towards Fate, which was where that force of wind expelled from. This was Fate's way of getting their attention while warning them to keep their bickering to a minimum. "Master Royal, got something on your mind?" Ludi asked as he returned to his relaxed sitting posture. Rabid raised an eyebrow when he didn't reply. Both of them could sense something was bothering him. Even with his back towards them they could feel the intensity shrouding him. "My son..." Fate spoke. Those two words caused both Ludi and Rabid to tense up as they continued to listened. "Explain to me how you managed to lose my son." His voice was stern. Despite this they kept their composure as they thought about their next words. Ludi simply turned his attention towards Rabid. Once he caught sight of this he sighed, knowing Ludi wasn't going to explain what transpired. "It is an odd and long story that I wish to not spend so much time on. For now, I'll tell you that me and your son had an argument about you. He knew about your involvement with the Royals. He even knew you were the Master Royal. He set out to prove this to me, unaware that I was heavily involved myself-" "So we used that notion to carry out the next stage in our plan. It opened a door for us to obtain-" "I'm aware why it was done. What escapes my knowledge is how you managed to allow both my son and his digital-dark copy to fall into their hands." Fate interrupted Ludi who was finishing up for Rabid. Both of them didn't have a decent reply to his question. In fact, Ludi simply shrugs as he thought for a moment, and then delivered his best answer. "It was either your son, or our cover being blown. I made the choice to sacrifice your son-" "We made the choice, as we thought out plan to further our goal." Rabid quickly adds. Ludi was a bit surprised by this. He looked at the brown haired male for a moment before nodding his head to say thank you. "Does that answer your question, sir..." Ludi finished as he tilted his head a bit, waiting for the man to turn around and finally face them. Fate remained with his back towards them, as if still bitter about the whole situation. "I suppose it matters not at this point. In a way, we've exchanged one son for another." Rabid slowly joined Ludi's side as he remained sitting on the barrel. Both of them seemed confused at Fate's words. They listened intensely as he continued his speech. "Your son, Sigma, has joined our ranks." Rabid's eyes widen a bit as he heard this news. "Fenroar? He is..." Ludi stopped himself as if he couldn't believe his very own thoughts running in his head. "He believes he is still a noble member of SB. His transformation is slowly taking place. He'll realize the truth soon enough." Both of them were still in a bit of shock. They were speechless to the point of being temporary paralyzed. Finally Ludi cleared his throat and looked around a bit. "Well... That's good news." He comments, snapping Rabid out of it as he fixed his eyes on the floor, thinking more about what all of this meant, and how it fit with their plan. "What about Yami?" Rabid finally spoke up to beat down the shock that coursed through him. Ludi nods his head to confirm his own interest on this subject. "His life falls in the hands of Virus. If she can convert him, convince him to join our cause, then his life will be spared. Should she fail, he remains an enemy, and all of our enemies will perish." Fate slowly turned around as an evil grin slowly crept upon his face. The both of them slightly cringed at the sight of his haunting stare. If there was one thing they both hated about Fate, was moments like this that revealed his true nature, his evil and demon-like features that he manages to hide so well. His devilish grin quickly faded into a serious frown as he crossed his arms and tilted his head a bit. "We've wasted enough time I believe. You know why we're on this ship, so lets collect what we need and continue our plan." Ludi leaped off of the barrel as Rabid straightened up a bit. They were both ready to move out as Fate dropped his arms to his side. Suddenly a flash of light ignites the room as a loud thunderous boom shook the floor. Ludi and Rabid shielded their eyes with their arms for a moment when the lighting flashed, and upon uncovering them they laid their eyes on a hooded and cloaked male figure. His skin was pure white, which was revealed only by his hands that stuck out of the sleeves of the cloak. His head was lowered a bit, allowing the hood to hide his face. Rabid seemed tense upon this person's arrival. Ludi on the other hand showed no reaction. Not that he wasn't displaying any, but rather that his hat, along with the darkness shrouding his face, hid any reaction he would currently be displaying. His body tensed up though. Rabid even managed to noticed this, which made him feel more timid. "Your Dark-Heart has a robe..." Ludi pointed out with a bit confusion. "Enemy Class Dark-Hearts are not to be taken lightly, Fate. They-" "I'm well aware of the dangers in producing an Enemy Dark-Heart. Giving it a robe allows us to provide the SB Guardians a fake Master Royal to chase, while strengthening our ranks the more it consumes LE from the lives it take. It is perfect for our mission, it is under my complete control, so their should not be any concern or objection with this notion." The more Fate spoke the more they could sense his anger rising. The figure to his left slowly closed his fists, tightening them the moment Fate finished his speech. Silence filled the air, until Ludi simply shrugged and spoke. "Sure thing, not a problem. I was just unaware that certain levels of Dark-Hearts can handle wearing a robe. Wasn't sure if it was even possible but, I guess it is." "Indeed... Now, let us proceed with our goal." Upon hearing this Rabid nods his head as he brought his gun to the front of his body. Ludi simply rolled his shoulders back as if preparing for a fight. Fate looked at his hooded Dark-Heart and pointed at the two on the opposite side of them. "Keep them alive, kill everyone else." "What!" Rabid and Ludi shouted together. The human was flushed with such anger as Ludi took two steps towards Fate, stopping in his tracks as the Dark-Heart merely stepped once and a surge of wind rushed out from his body. "That wasn't the plan, Fate." Rabid comments as he readied his gun, trying to decide who to fix it on. "Find the artifact before it kills everyone on this ship. Once you locate it contact Cross-Faith and he'll come to you. Once he has it and it is off the ship my Dark-Heart will leave immediately-" "And how do you expect him to get on this ship? Hex has a magical barrier around it. No one can board this ship by any form of magic or power-" "That is why you two are splitting up. One will search for the artifact while the other finds the cursed scroll that is keeping this ship protected from outside forces." "This wasn't the plan, Fate!" Ludi shouts, cutting off Rabid who was going to speak again. "Not all of them are blind to our cause. There are still some that can be converted to our-" "If you two wish to die alongside them then I welcome you to become my enemy. As I stated before, I will not allow my enemies to share the same air I breathe. I will eliminate and destroy any and all who stand in my way. That includes any and all Royals who come against me... Either you find that artifact and get it to Cross-Faith, or my Dark-Heart kills everyone on this ship and retrieves it himself." Rabid and Ludi could only glare as they weighed their options. "Which one you want, Rabid?" "I'll take the artifact." "Thought so..." Suddenly a loud thunderous boom echoed as two flashes of lighting lit up the room. The two of them were dressed in their own robes, Ludi's hat changed into a hood, which covered more of his face than the hat did, making his identity and species even more of a mystery. They both took off in full sprints as they started to headed up the stares. They heard a loud crash which caused them to stop and look behind them. A large hole could be seen, which started to suck out the barrels near by. The Dark-Heart was the only person standing there, which made them think Fate caused the hole in the wall, using that as some kind of exit. Suddenly the ship jerk violently as if it was losing altitude. Once they both got their footing and regained themselves they noticed that the Dark-Heart was gone, as well, another large hole was created on the ceiling. It looked like the being shot straight up towards the main deck. "I know this isn't a good time to ask but its going to kill me if I don't know... What is so dangerous about Fate's Dark-Heart?" Rabid looked at him for a moment, then fixed his eyes on the stairs in front of him. "They're called Enemy Class for a reason. These Dark-Hearts are the strongest, yet they come at a high price. The more you feed into them the stronger they get. The catch is that they become their own entity. They slowly strip away parts of you, taking your mannerisms, your thought process, your character, until finally they completely consume your entire being... In short, they kill you, and only hang onto one part of you that gives them a reason to live or a driving force... The process can't be undone either." Ludi thought for a moment as he heard all this. He shifted his eyes around, as if trying to remember something. "That grin of his..." He spoke softly at first. "That was the first time I've seen Fate grin like since-" "Since he first spawned his Enemy Dark-Heart... No else could see it, either that or they ignored it, but I saw it grin that same evil-grin back at Fate when it first came forth. It already found its one thing to hang onto." "His smirk?" Ludi asked with a tilt of his head. Rabid shook his head for a moment before speaking. "His psychotic path of destruction..." Ludi shook his head upon hearing this, thinking this wasn't going to end will if this Dark-Heart did take over Fate. "Come on, we have our tasks set in front of us. Hopefully we can complete our mission with no one dying on this ship." With that said the two of them raced up the stares and split up once they reached the top. They could already hear the sounds of battle as they were coming up, knowing the Dark-Heart was giving the Guardians more trouble than they could handle. |

Oh man, harsh words towards Virus. xD ... I don't think it was a matter of either "not hoping to get caught" or "wanting to be caught"... I just don't think she really cared. --Rabid's a daddy? Goodness gracious me... I hope Fenroar stays the same, he seems cool~. Also, "enemy" or not, Virus won't let anyone kill Yami. xD; |

(New chapter! I'll be post the bios provided for the new people that joined in my blog. Enjoy! :D) Chapter 7: Cold Chain "I be hear'n ya, little lass. I'm just not see'n yer second point as a valid one." Hex spoke, leaning against his desk which had different chemicals in bottles and dark black skulls of many kind decorating it. Cross was leaning against the wall to Hex's right. Another person was with them. A tall, slender Caucasian human with brown hair that reached a couple of inches above her shoulders was closer to Faith than Hex. She looked past a stream of hair that went over her right eye, thinking of the captain's words as she shifted her sights to Faith who moved to adjust his hat. "I'm on board with Lord Fate being part of the Royals, but there are others that we need to be aware of. Ludi, for example, excluding his mysterious and shrouding vibe, has given me more than enough reason to pin him as one of them." After hearing him speak she tugged on the collar part of her black, opened trench coat that covered most of her red shirt. Clearing her throat she began her own speech. "Captain, my team is never wrong with the information we provide. We were put together to keep tabs on our own Guardians, to monitor their movements and-" "Ye be barking up the wrong tree, lads. Ludi be on me very own watchful tab. Found something I did, before yer little team could. Ye carry such pride about yer crew, as well as I. Therefore, me sight is set on what I know I can trust. And little lass, I be knowing for a fact that yer crew don't swim with thee sharks, they'r them." Blaire could sense Hex's tension rising. Even though he remained completely calm and his voice never changed to an aggressive one, she could tell by looking in his eyes he was displeased with what she was providing. "Captain, if you don't trust me or my team, then why bring us before your presence?" "Bait..." Faith quickly replied for Hex. The captain's smirk confirmed the cowboy's answer. She tilted her head a bit as if slowing piecing together the puzzle. "That's why you had the artifact brought aboard your ship, to lore them out... Any of the Guardians could have done this task, why choose me and my team?" "I don't be trusting ya, or yer little crew. This be a give'n to ya. So when I heard through the great vines that Lord Fate shall not be trusted, I figured the touch of his corruption stretched within the Guardians soul. Evil never embarks in the sunlight. It starts in the darkness, within the chest buried with secrets." "In short, he believes the first traitors started in your Special Force unit. His proof is me and Ludi, who both started out in that branch before we were moved." Faith explains. This only aggravated Blaire even more as she fixed her tense eyes on the snowflake design sewed into her glove. She sighs as she realized something, confirming more that Hex might actually be right. "Trickster was transferred to my unit without my consent. Lord Fate overruled my plead against the action. Even though she wasn't there for a long time I assume she obtained enough information to cause that crisis back at the HQ." She paused for a moment, then lifted her head as determination flooded her eyes. "Regardless, I'm not going to stand here and allow you to call my entire unit traitors. I refuse to believe that all of them are part of the Royals. I admit, they have infiltrated my unit without me being fully aware of their presence, but that does not mean my entire unit is corrupt." Hex remained silent as he stared into her eyes. The room was silent as the tension seemed to thicken the air. Finally Hex spoke as he leaned forward a bit. "As the lad was say'n, yer here as bait, little lass. I had ye bring that thing aboard me ship, knowing yer crew would feed our enemy the information and present themselves. I wanted ya to be here when they showed up... Atlas, I concluded with my same rejection as before. I swat me hand at your words, and violently disagree with yer second point. The artifact remains unguarded. Keep yer little pawns away from me treasure, little lass." His final words were clearly a threat. They slithered out with a haunting and deathly tone that Blaire couldn't help but feel a chill run down her back. She fought with her body to not react to the sensation, thinking it was her anger rising which was empowering her ice abilities. "You don't think they're after what she brought aboard." Faith interjected, killing the tension a bit as he continued to speak. "You think they're after someone, rather than something... I'm guessing Yami." "Play yer guessing game all ye want, boy. If ye haven't figured it out, then ye should of paid more attention instead of balancing yer hide on a swaying plank-" "Red..." Blaire suddenly spoke up as if the puzzle was finally complete. She blinked a few times in shock as Hex couldn't help but smirk to confirm her thought. "They're coming for Red." "Little lass, they be here already. They've been on me ship for a long while now." "So what are they waiting for?" She asked the captain. He only spread his smirk a bit more as he leaned back to get comfortable again. Faith adjusted his hat again, getting ready to speak seeing as the captain wasn't going to answer her. "Orders, it would seem... Either that, or for someone to-" Sudden a loud explosion shakes the entire ship. The trio were tossed to one side of the room, hitting the ground as another explosion goes off and shakes the ship once more. Hex quickly jumped to his feet and widen his smile with excitement. "Hahahahaha!! It be about that time, lads! Get yer war paint on! Strap up yer boots and buckle yer holsters! We got a raiding party to vanquish! Hahahaha!!" ------------------- Ludi could hear the fighting going on above him. He raced down the long corridor of the ship, feeling small quakes from the escalating battle. He was hoping the Dark Heart wasn't ripping them to shreds, making him feel like each step he took was killing time, killing one of them. "You'd think he'd have signs pointing to the damn thing." He told himself as he slid to a halt and kicked opened a door. The door flew off its hinges and spiraled into a storage room of some sort. Sighing with annoyance he goes to sprint down the hall when a large boom shook the ship and caused him to fall into room. A second large boom tossed the items and equipment within the room around. Most of it toppled onto ludi. However, he managed to form a magical barrier to shield himself from the falling objects. He used the barrier to toss the items aside as he got to his feet. He quickly dusted himself off and motioned to climb over the falling items to reach the door, but something caught his attention. A green and yellow light flickered behind him. He turned around and looked at the wall behind him, wondering where the light came from. He finally spotted the crack in the wall as the bright light shined through again. He tilted his head in confusion, wondering if what he was looking for was hiding behind the wall. After a moment or two he quickly conjured an ancient looking long blade withing his hand, something he didn't like doing while being a SB Guarding. It was a matter of keeping his cover, so displaying all of his powers would give him away should he need to fight any of them while resuming the role of a Royal. He hacked at the wall, only taking two swings before it came crumbing down. The light was brighter now, and a large metal globe orbited around the ball of green and yellow light. He was in awe at the size of it, thinking that this thing was in fact not the scroll he was looking for. "Looks valuable. Hopefully its explosive. If I can't find that scroll," He started to walk towards the two objects, taking steady strides as he felt that this was a bit too easy. Also, the room was oddly pitch black regardless of the light shining forth. "Then at least I can bring down this ship. Once we're grounded Cross should be able to-" Suddenly the metal sphere stopped and fixed its self in front of Ludi. It dropped to the floor with a loud metallic thud, lightly shaking the room. Metal spikes quickly burst from the orb, causing Ludi to take a step back as he got ready to fight. "Death to all who enter to presence of the Wind Razor's Heart-" "Yeah, I don't got time for this." Performing a few hand motions within a few seconds, he formed a large ball of dark energy, gathering it from the room itself. The ball grew and became more chaotic, forming spikes, red and purple lighting surges, dark green waves and a dark blue aura. He took several steps back as the ball continued to grow, rapidly at that. He was thrown into a panic as he couldn't stop the growth of his attack, when suddenly it erupts like a volcano blast. The explosion launched Ludi out of both rooms and into the corridor walls. As he dropped to the floor the inner room explodes again, causing the entire ship to jerk. Within seconds more explosions go off, which stirred the mysterious being to toss his hood back over his head and pick himself off the floor. He used the air around him to push a massive amount of wind force towards the ground, rocketing himself up and through the floors above him. He burst out of the final floor, reaching the top deck within seconds. He started to slowly descend as he watched the Dark Heart 'play' with the SB Guardians. Suddenly several ice shards breeze pass him as he turned around to face his attacker. Blaire was already in the air, leaping towards him with fury burning in her eyes. Ludi could only smirk within the darkness that shrouded his face. He quickly formed two single-handle axes, looking as if they were made from large beastly animals as the blades were razor sharp teeth. He motioned to swing at her when she was violently launched towards the deck with a powerful kick to her ribs. She shouted in pain as she hit the wooden floor hard and bounced once before dropping onto her hands and knees. Ludi was completely shocked, seeing the Dark Heart appear so fast and use such force to deliver a blow like that with ease. "Impossible." Ludi thought. "No one has ever surprised Blaire with any attack. She could always sense when someone is approaching her, no matter how fast they move... She didn't even feel him, she wasn't even aware he was that close to her." Ludi jerked back as his train of thought broke when the Dark Heart turned its attention towards him. His eyes slightly widen as he stared into the being's eyes, wishing he had never seen its eyes, feeling as if they'll haunt him forever. The evilness seeping through them as it simply stared, peering into the darkness and uncovering what he truly looks like, sinking his eyes into his very soul. It was at that moment that his heart raced with pure panic. Even though it was for a second, Ludi saw it. The subtle yet striking tell of an attack, like a predator ready to kill its prey. Ludi threw up his axes in an X formation as quickly as he could. He felt the power the being used as his foot impacted his weapons. The sheer force shattered them completely and sent Ludi spiraling towards the deck below. "Gotcha!" Rabid shouts, catching him in midair. Oddly enough they were still falling yet Ludi somehow knew he was safe. "Please tell me that it didn't just attack me." Ludi comments, realizing that the ship wasn't getting closer to them, but pulling away. "And why the heck are we still falling?" "The ship is free falling, along with us. Its picking up speed the closer it gets to the ground... And yes, it did just attack you, as far as my eyes saw." Ludi thought for a moment, trying to think which case was worse, being attack by Fate's Dark Heart or realizing that if the ship crash lands no one on board will likely survive. "We're not going to let them all die like that, right?" "No... Smart thinking, by the way. Making the ship crash land so the Dark Heart wont kill them all." Rabid comments, to which Ludi remembered that he didn't see the being move after he was attacked. He looked back to where it should be according to their descent. Sure enough it was still there, fixing its attention on both of them as if it wanted to rip they apart. Finally it leaned forward and burst in flight towards the falling ship. Ludi and Rabid soon did the same, chasing after the Dark Heart as it rapidly neared the ship. "Captain Hex!! Stop your joy-falling and regain control of your ship!" Blaire shouts, clinging onto the railing leading up to the helm. "Whats his deal!! Tell him to stop his creepy laughing and do something!" Red shouts as he too was hanging on for his life. "Stop complaining! This is the most fun we've had in years!" Combo comments, laughing along with the captain as he hung onto a rope that was tied down. Suddenly the Dark Heart touchdown on the ship again, ignoring the harsh wind force that was swirling and whipping about. Everyone fixed their eyes on it, knowing they were all in no condition to fight this being. They all were startled as it fixed its eyes on Red, and soon began walking towards him. Pure fear swept over the blonde haired human as he watched 'death' slowly approach him. Otogi was clinging onto Pianta, who managed to form a protective barrier around the two of them, and was struggling to keep it up. Her eyes watched in horror as the Dark Heart stopped right in front of Red. She wanted to shout, she wanted to do something, but she knew she couldn't leave the barrier, other wise they both would be swept away. Two black blurs rush pass the ship and managed to set themselves under it. Rabid's front was facing the ground that was coming nearer by the second. His back was pressed against Ludi's back, with his front facing the falling ship. "Alright! My gun took in the enchantment!" Rabid shouts. Ludi simply nods and begins to perform an array of arm and hand motions. Soon, a large dark green orb begins to form in front of him. The orb continued to grow as thunder clouds begin to form within the orb. A raging storm starts to roar within the orb as it begins to expand. Its size starts to past the ship as Ludi continued to focus. "I need more time!" Ludi shouts, to which Rabid nods his head and aimed his gun at the earth below. A large boom roared from his gun as a massive blue beam shoots out. The force of the beam hits the ground and spreads out like liquid pouring onto the ground. The power of the beam slows their fall as the orb presses against the ship. Rabid and Ludi both struggle to slow down the speed of ship, but their efforts seem to only delay their fate. "We're still moving too fast! Hurry up and summon the damn thing!" "Don't rush me! I'd like to see you summon a grand dra-" "Ludi! Shut up and summon it already!" "Fine! Raaaah!!!" Ludi's eyes suddenly changed to a red glowing color as his body began to glow. He clapped his hands once as the orb started to shake and crack. Within seconds the cracks started to form chunks that were about to be chipped away. "Done!" With that said Ludi grabbed Rabid and spun him around, causing the beam shooting from his gun to impale the orb. It course right through and burned through the ship, scaring everyone aboard as the beam rained down like water being sprayed. The two of them vanished from sight as the massive orb explodes and nearly shatters the ship in half. The ship instantly jerked to a stop, and oddly enough they weren't in pieces. Everyone felt dazed and tried to stir themselves to their feet. They were confused and lost as they slowly regained their mental state. A large dust cloud covered the ship from the sudden halt, giving their confusion more fuel. It started to slowly fade as the sunlight broke through. They could hear something breathing loudly underneath them. "Red!!" Otogi shouts once she was able to fully stand on her feet. She ran through the fading mist of dust to where Red should be. She found nothing, causing her eyes to fill with tears. Suddenly a loud sound blast tore a huge whole in the ship as pieces of wood and rope fly everywhere. The group covered their ears as the loud guitar strum settled into nothingness. A male with untidy long hair leaped up from the large hole in the ship and quickly got into his fighting stance. His red t-shirt waved a bit as the breeze from his powerful guitar of a weapon settled. The sound wave cleared out the dust, allowing everyone to see that they've landed in the outskirts of a forest. "Ajkunai?" Pianta questioned, wondering where he came from. Blaire suddenly spun around and caught a punch from Hex, who somehow managed to get near her within a few seconds. She glared into his eyes as she balled up her other hand into a fist. "Lying little lass." Hex uttered, knowing she ordered Ajkunai to sneak into the storage unit the artifact was held in. "Great job, Ajkunai. You've done a-" "He got away with it." He quickly spoke, dropping his guard down as he swung his guitar to his back. Blaire released Hex's fist and quickly walked towards the warrior-musician. "He took it?" She asked to confirm what she heard was correct. He lowered his head, feeling defeated as he slowly nods his head. "And I think he killed Rabid and Ludi too." He adds, to which he pulled out Ludi's hat from the back of his pocket and gave it to Blaire. Her eyes widen with terror as she slowly reached out to grab it. Once it was in her grasp she could feel her eyes filling with water, her vision becoming blurry, and he heart slowly down. Pianta screamed in horror and shoved Blaire out of her way as she snatched the hat from her. She held it tightly as she dropped to her knees and allowed the fury within produce hateful tears. "Quit yer sobbing, gal. yer real father isn't dead..." Hex comments, fixing his eyes towards the edge of the ship. Rabid was leaning against the railing with his arms cross and eyes closed, feeling odd and slightly exposed that he didn't have his jacket on. Ludi on the other hand was sitting on the railing of the ship, using Rabid's jacket as an odd hat-like-hood to cover his entire head. "Yes, we're both alive. Who do you think summoned the sleeping dragon to break our fall?" Ludi comments with a slight shrug of his shoulders. Everyone blinked a few times, as if they didn't understand what he was saying. A few of them raced to the edge of the ship and realized he was right. Underneath them was a large dark green sleeping dragon. One would consider this dragon an oversize, or overweight, dragon that is completely harmless, or completely lazy. Either way, this mass of dragon flesh and meat broke their fall, and prevented the ship from colliding with the earth. Of course, this dragon was the size of a small mountain, meaning they'd have to climb down the beast to actually reach the forest. "Yer all still aboard me ship, and you've overstayed yer welcome. Now kindly remove your carcasses from this vessel... Oh, and by all means, lads, let the plank hit yer ass on yer way down." Hex informs them, turning around to head back into his chambers. "You refuse to help us? Now that you're bait failed you're just going to give up?" Blaire asked with anger in her voice, thinking the captain was of no help from the start. "No, little lass." He starts off, turning around to face her once more. "The plan was solid. I've gathered what information I need for me own workings. They took the bait, both'em. The boy, and the other one-" "You disgust me, captain." She cut him off, pausing as she felt her anger rising again. "You-" "Beware of what comes from ye mouth, little lass. I don't take kindly to insults 'n lies, nor do I be in the mood for games of spy and trickery. Setting this trap of mine showed me whom I can put me trust in. This crew of yers, these Guardians as ye call yer selves, are all a bunch of dogs looking for their next bone to be picking. Ye have traitors standing so close to ya, that ye wouldn't even know it even if they sold ya their souls. Ye mind lacks much knowledge of what be happening here. Fathom all ye like, yer'll never understand how grave this plot be. Atlas, leave me and me vessel. Take as much from this ship as ye want, but it still won't save yer lives... Yer graves are already laid, I've seen them." With that bone chilling line there was a short pause before Hex turned around again and headed into his quarters. Blaire had no words to say. She could only tighten her fists as she watched him leave. "Ajkunai... Get everyone to gather whatever they can. We're heading out in ten minuets." "What about Red, and Lord Fate?" "Fate isn't on our side, Otogi. He never was... As for Red, we'll get him back. I promise." "The captain would like to see you, Ludi and Rabid." Ezekial suddenly spoke out as he walked out of the captain's chambers. They looked at each other for a moment, then proceeded to join Hex in his quarters after Ludi shrugged in confusion. Passing Pianta he nods to her as she gave him his hat back while providing him with a strong embrace. "Yami..." Blaire called, to which he was pushed towards her by Combo. After stumbling a bit he adjusted him with a bit of attitude, not liking that he was still seen as a traitor for being with Trickster. "Where is Virus and the rest of the Royals?" Yami narrowed his eyes with anger, stepping forward and getting in Blaire's face. "I can see why she would betray us, and I agree with every Hex said. You guys are so confused, so lost that you don't even know who to trust, who is on your side, or what is really happening here-" "I'm not going to ask again-" "Save it, Blaire!" He shouts, his anger growing more and more as she narrowed her eyes at his out burst. "If you want answers then talk to the one person who isn't here... Did you all forget to count? You're missing one person." Blaire squinted her eyes as Yami turned around and began to walk away. He didn't get far as Combo was blocking his path, arms crossed and smirking as if challenging him to a fight. She sighs deeply while closing her eyes. She did the math in her head before Yami even mentioned it. "Cross... Where the hell did you go..." |
