Sonic Blast - A place where many call home. It is a kingdom that strives on peace, yet gives birth to guardians. It blooms with excitement, it swells with wonder, and it calms the rigidness in any restless being. It is said to be the most well protected world... That was until another Kingdom rose to counter it...

Chapter 1: Otogi

Dear Diary... I have arrived at the =SB= Base in Empire City, and have been here for a decent amount of months. I believe I am almost reaching three years about this time. As soon as I arrived I was escorted to the Guardian Academy. Upon my arrival I met several avid students. They were in awe, along with myself, at the structures towering over us. I have never seen such a mass group of bodies moving about. All walks of life moved to-and-fro. It was splendid. Yet... I could not calm my nerves for one second. I was very timid. I felt inadequate. I felt out of place and afraid. As you know, I hail from the Cosmic Zone, living in the RP Gardens, the Private Sectors. All though we're below ground we were always welcoming in the Starter Sectors above ground...

It was the Nobles and Royals who lived in the Advance Sectors that did not welcome our presence in the Starter Sectors... It was in the Starter Sectors that I found my passion and zeal to become a Guardian, as you know already. The stories the Guardians would tell in the pubs and taverns brought such wonder and awe. Even if some were dipped in tragedy, the adventures that were held must of been glorious... It was odd though... I overheard one of a students mentioning my home zone. She spoke of the many tales I've heard since I was a little girl... It was about Organ-Island. The Guardians call it Unknown-XIII, marking it the thirteenth wonder and mystery in all of Sonic Blast, not to mention the most dangerous one. I have seen a great many of Guardians make their way up to the Advance Sectors in hopes of reaching Unknown-XIII. It floats high above the Advance Sectors and faces its front.

The story goes as follows.... There is a castle somewhere on that island, either within the island or hidden among the barren canyons. This castle was said to be part of the Advance Sectors, and that the rightful rulers of the RP Gardens lived in this castle. They were here before this world was founded by the Emperor of Sonic Blast. Yet some form of calamity took hold of this world. They used powerful magic to separate themselves from the evil spreading throughout the world. They waited three days until a good portion of their magic rejuvenated. Then, they selected their strongest warrior and empowered him with unnatural abilities and feats, that he may rid the world of this swarming evil... Some say the castle-bound-royals unleashed the evil and detached themselves from the world to remain safe. And once the evil passed over they would start the world anew...

There are other renditions of this tale, but these two are used the most since they came from Veteran Guardians. It was strange to hear an old tale like this, coming from a person who hails from another zone... Maybe this myth is widely known. After all, the Guardians cover the entire world... This is why I wanted to become a Guardian. I want to know the truth about Unknown-XIII. I want to rediscover a piece of lost history... I want to solve the thirtieth wonder of Sonic Blast...
"

"Assemble Door-Side, Trainees! Mentors will hit the deck in five!"

A voice boomed in a comm-speaker attached to the corner of her room. It was a small room. A chrome desk, night stand, hovering bed, and a dresser next to closet doors. A long jet black haired girl sat at the desk. A data-pad was open with a hologram-like keyboard at the bottom. She nearly winced from the loud voice booming from above as he repeated himself. She nods to herself and tapped the top button of the pad, making a loading bar appear quickly and then vanish within seconds. It then made a small beeping-tune which symbolize its turning of sequence. She was wearing her standard issued red and blue =SB= Academy uniform, which was more or less a jumpsuit. She hurried out of her room, pausing for a moment to let the metal door slid open. She quickly stepped out and positioned herself to the left of her door frame. Now that she was in the brightly lit hallway, thanks to the glass wall on the other side, the sun revealed how white and pal her skin was. To complement her skin, her eyes weren't of the norm as well. Her pupils were white, while her actual eyes were black. Her iris was lime green with three small blue circles around her iris which formed a triangle.

"Hey! Otogi!" A boy whispers in a shout. He had blond hair that spiked forward and nearly covered his light blue eyes. As far as she could tell, he was human.

"Red! Be quite! You're gonna get us in trouble!" She comments back in a loud whisper, smiling a bit as she did.

"Come on! What did I tell you, I changed my Guardian name so don't call me that!"

"Hahaha! I forgot to inform you my friend. Your hacking attempt failed. Your G-Name rings up as No Data Available." Upon hearing this Red's jaw dropped as his face turned red. This only forced her to cup her mouth with her hands to prevent an out burst of laughter. She giggled for a while until she could contain herself. Red followed this by shaking his head with a smirk.

"Well, if they ask I'll just say No Data is my first name and Available is my last name. I'll be the first Guardian with a corny last in the history of Sonic Blast."

"Form up!! Mentors on deck!!" Red and Otogi quickly became serious and straightened up their posture. Red was a little nervous, hearing how he screwed up his hacking attempt to change his submitted profile. Once entered it an not be changed, a security protocol they were told. Otogi on the other hand was excited. She could only wonder who her mentor would be...

Chapter 2: Claws, Rifle, and Wind Chain

"Here is the chart, sir." One of the men, the one shouting all the orders to the students, spoke with a bit of nervousness as he slowly handed a human male a open data-pad. The male grabbed it, rolling his leather black jacket sleeve up a bit. His brown hair was away from his face, allowing his eyes to scan the list of students as it automatically scrolled up.

"Stop..." He spoke, which caused the auto-scroll to freeze. He placed his finger on red highlighted words that read 'No Data Available.' Upon selecting it a brief profile flashed onto the pad's screen. To his right was Red's picture when he had shorter hair.

"Shouldn't we wait for Tricks?" Another human spoke. His skin was a bit pale, which was hidden underneath the black robe he wears.

"If I had a dollar for every time I've heard that..." The robed male didn't like that reply, causing a bit of timidness within him as he tried to look at the other students lined up. Without warning the male in the leather black jacket started to walk down the hallway. The robed male followed quickly, wincing a bit as the sun beamed on them form the right through the glass wall. Each step the mentor took stirred more fear into the students. It was only after five steps that a female grey-hound collapsed to the floor. The other students panicked but remained at full attention as their mentors passed them. One of them motioned to help her up, but decided against it and straightened his posture when the brown haired male laid his stern eyes upon him.

"Captain, take her to the infirmary." The robed one called. The man quickly nodded and rushed to the fainted girl. He quickly scooped her up in his arms and carried her away. Finally the clicking of his boots came to a halt. He looked at the list in his hand for a moment, then slowly turned his attention to the one he stopped in front of. Red's eyes widen as he swallowed hard. He didn't dare make eye contact as the mentor continued to burn his sights through him.

"Mind explaining this error message on your profile?" He asked, to which Red just stared off through the glass wall while sweat seeped from his forehead. His joke he mentioned before didn't seem like the appropriate answer, but besides that he couldn't think of anything else to say.

"I'm sorry, Master Rabid... It was I who tampered with the file..." Otogi steps forward to complete her speech.

"I was trying to fix a mistake he made... I didn't mean for-"

"You didn't mean to hack into our data-base and scan through private files, is what you're telling me..." Upon hearing this both Otogi and Red became shocked. Red didn't even hack into a high level security system such as their private data-base. He doesn't have the skills to even attempt such a thing. Otogi was lost for words. She knew Red couldn't have hacked their data-base in such a manner. Their profiles are on a different sever panel as it is.

"Rabid... Yami... How unpleasant to see you..." A slightly deep voice called from the other end of the hallway. Rabid's eyes glared even more as his eyes rested upon their speaker. Yami also displayed a stern look.

"Cross-Faith... The Guardian Code only states that I have to greet you with respect, so say whatever the hell you need to say and leave... As you can see I'm a bit busy." The man on the other end of the hallway smirks as he adjusted his cowboy hat on his head. He wore a black leather jacket as well, only he had several chains hanging form it, more so on the back and on his sleeves. His baggy black jeans had metal crosses along it. His mustache was thin but his goatee was thick. A cross-shaped earring shined in the sunlight as he crossed his arms and spoke.

"Fine, I'll turn my ass around and leave you with nothing... When LF gets pissed at-"

"Fate is back!?" Yami quickly interjected. The urban cowboy smirked with a light sigh.

"Hes dead... Again..." The students had more of a reaction to this. Killing a Guardian was widely know as a hard task to accomplish. Despite this, Rabid and Yami weren't bothered by this news.

"Lesson one, boys and girls... The Guardian known as Fate can not be killed. He has a self healing factor that doesn't have a stable time frame of when it kicks in to work... In other words, his healing power works whenever it wants." At first, the students were confused. The speaker was nowhere to be seen, yet her voice was coming from somewhere. Soon, a few of them figured it out and managed to spot the cat demon, standing on the ceiling without a care in the world for the laws of psychics. Even her own clothing, consisting of a black V-neck shirt with long sleeves, displaying wide sleeves by the hand, defied the rules of gravity. You'd expect the wide openings near the bottom of her pants to fold down towards the floor. However, this was not the case.

"Geez... Its the damn cat from hell..." Cross-Faith comments, rolling his eyes and sighing from her random appearance.

"Your late..." Rabid spoke with a stern voice. The demon cat eyed him from above for a moment, then returned her eyes back on the cowboy.

"Continue with your message, boy-cow. We have much work to do... And far more scoldings to dish out." Her attention was quickly fixed on poor Red, who once again started sweating as he tried not to look at the human-like cat.

"Sorry, message was strictly for Rabid only-"

"Then he can tell me when he wakes up... Now leave." The cowboy raised an eye brow for a moment. Then he returned his smirk as he shook his head again. He slowly raised his hand up, palm facing towards the ceiling, and eyes fixed on the floor. A white glowing cross suddenly appeared and rapidly shot out an odd looking sword. Even though it moved as fast as a bullet, Rabid caught the middle of the blade with his hand. The tip of the blade was only a few inches away from his chest. Without saying a word the cowboy began fixing his hat again as a larger glowing cross formed behind him. It quickly engulfed the cowboy which made him vanish within a few seconds. Tricks and Yami joined Rabid's side as he began to examine it. They both displayed a slight shocked expression while Rabid narrowed his eyes in anger.

"Eclipse blade..." Otogi comments softly to herself. Not knowing she did, she spoke louder than she wanted to. The three mentors quickly turned their attention to her, startling her as she stepped back into the wall.

"Well... I guess we'll take these trouble makers then..."

"Tricks... I don't think we should-"

"Otogi, Red." The two students quickly stood upright as Rabid cut Yami off to address them. Red was swearing in his mind, while Otogi was praying that they wouldn't be punished.

"We'll be your mentors form here on... You are now official students of the CRW Chain..." The two of them couldn't help but widen their smiles with excitement. It was clear that they were trying to bottle in their reaction to scream and cheer for joy.

"Rule number one... Don't... Smile..." Tricks comments, quickly killing their mood as they became serious once more.

"Follow Tricks to the arenas... The rest of you, wait here until Captain Connic comes back with the rest of the mentors."

"YES SIR!" All the students shout. Red and Otogi were ready to follow Tricks, but they somehow missed it when she simply vanished. They displayed a bit of confusion, even looking to the ceiling to find her, yet they found nothing.

"Don't worry, she does often... Follow me please." Yami informs them, to which they just shrugged at each other and followed Yami out. Rabid staid behind for a moment, taking more time to look over the sword by himself. He moved it a round a bit until his eyes caught something. When he turned the thick handle towards the sunlight a symbol lightly glowed.

"You can't tell me I'm wrong, Rabid!! I shouldn't even be in this damn place! I don't belong here! I'm not a Guardian! I'm a sick joke formed by my father! Who happens to be one of the Unknown-XIII Royals!! What more proof do you want!? If you wont see reason then I'll get more proof!!"

As these words from the Guardian Fate plays in his mind, he begins to picture the argument he had with him. He slowly shook his head to clear out the negative thoughts. He has a job to do for the moment. Once Fate awakens though, he'll get direct answers. Until then there isn't anyone he could trust with the amount of knowledge he knew about Fate, and where he truly went that he would come back with such an object...

On their way to the training arenas Otogi and Red followed Yami closely. Both of them were itching to ask so many questions. Red was more focused on not getting punished for hacking his submitted profile. Even though Otogi tried to take the fall for him, it wasn't convincing enough for the mentors.

"Um... Master Yami... Are we in trouble?" Otogi finally asked. Yami looked at them for a moment, not really sure what to say. He thought for a moment. Then he simply shrugged.

"Well, you're under our wings now... So... I'm guessing you're not in trouble... For now, of course... Does that make sense?" He asked them while lightly smiling a bit. His answer only brought a bit of comfort to both of them as they simply nod their heads.

"No Data, huh."

"Ahh!" Red nearly shouts upon hearing Tricks voice. Her hands were cupped behind her back as her eyes were closed, following along side him for however long she has been there. Which drew the question of how long she has been there this entire time.

"Uh-um... Y-yes ma'ma... You can address me-"

"I think its stupid... I'll call you Boom-boom from now on... Its logical in every way. Red-Boombox was your first submitted name, I like things that go boom, and I'm even more ecstatic when they boom twice... Any problems?" Her eyes opened and were already fixed upon him, as if she was always looking at him but her eyelids were simply closed. This freaked him out a bit of course. So he quickly agreed that there were no problems with whatever she wanted to call him.

"Good... Boom-boom, I'll be your first opponent."

"WHAT!" Tricks suddenly stopped which forced the entire group to do the same. Red was still next to her as she closed her eyes with annoyance. It seemed like she was trying to contain an outburst of rage.

"Did you just scream in my ear...?" Red's eyes filled with fear as he realized he did exactly that. He took a step back and shook his head faster than he could blink. An awkward and eerie moment settled in as silence fell upon them.

"Good... Moving along..." After breaking the silence she began to lead again, this time forming up next to Yami as they began to walk. She sighs to herself, knowing Yami could see and hear her.

"This is going to be a very long day..."

"I have faith in them-"

"Ever wonder if its worth it... Training them... Trusting them... Teaching them the means of being unstoppable, while not knowing if they have their own agenda to use the tools and skills we've mastered into them..." Yami became a bit more serious as he listened. They had this conversation many times before and it never ended on good terms.

"Trixie... We've been over this already. We don't teach them to become powerful forces of destruction. I mean, its not like we teach them to deify death-"

"Yes, but one person has that ability and he is always dying. He was taught the same rules, the same skills to avoid death and stay alive, yet he rushes into death and it simply ignores him. What kind of Guardians are we building if their powers and abilities derail the very code of honor we imprint on these students. What does it say about us when we can't contain one single person from wrecking an entire supply base. What gives him the right to place himself above our codes and go against everything we stand for, declaring that our way of up holding the peace is-"

"Trixie..." Yami managed to gently silence her he placed his hand on her shoulder. She remained silent as she let his silence sooth her mind with burning questions.

"I don't have all the answers for you, or for anyone else with these questions... Honestly speaking, these questions are not our priority. Right now, we have two students under our wing that need the correct guidance and training we can offer..." Silence fell again. Red and Otogi were very much intrigued by their conversation. Tricks finally caught onto this and sighs once more.

"Right... Pick up the pace you two-"

"AHHH!!!" A suddenly sharp scream pierced their ear drums as a female shouts with pure horror. More people screamed upon seeing what the first women screamed about. However, a mass number of people simply stared at the cause of this commotion. A pool of black blood slowly slithered from under a dried up corpse, as if something sucked the life out of the person. The culprit was only a foot away, standing on its two hind ledge with two long sharp toes digging into the ground. The toes were thick, acting as its feet while the rest of its foot pointed up like an animal.

The top part of this dark shadowy figure was human. Solid abs, strong chest muscle, male in appearance by its torso, and tall in size. Within its three clawed hand was a white sphere, swirling with some kind of grey substance within it. It slowly turned its single horned head towards them. Its eyes were solid white with grey pupils, no iris at all. The lower part of its face began to form a silt, slowly opening to reveal fire-like teeth. It hissed with a slight chime to it as it took a step towards the group. Clearly it was still hungry, and they were marked for its next meal...

Bleh, why's my dude so scary?
Never mind, I'm not sure I want to know.
Indeed, there is nothing more repulsive than these monsters that defy nature and are known by the name of witcher, as they are the offspring of foul sorcery and witchcraft. They are unscrupulous scoundrels without conscience and virtue, veritable creatures from hell capable only of taking lives. They have no place amongst decent and honest folk.

Awesome! Your characterization of Trickster is spot-on. ^^ Although, I'm surprised you made her a Guardian/mentor. She seems more like the revolutionary/hidden agenda type. She believes in vigilante justice, after all. If she doesn't agree with certain laws or authority figures, she ignores/combats them and follows her own path.

Anyways! I look forward to the next chapter. <3 This story's shaping up to be very awesome.

Ah--a minor suggestion. Just so readers know the abilities and full appearance of the characters, would it be possible for you to add the bios we submitted somewhere? Maybe in your original post or something? Just a thought. x 3

This is looking very cool so far. The lore you've built for this story actually looks really deep, and I get the impression you've barely scratched the surface of it here. Most impressive.

The characterization of Yami is... Well, not exactly how I would have done it. xD; But! Not at all in a bad way. If anything, I'd have made him seem a bit more relaxed, but because of the setting I think it makes sense for him to seem a bit less relaxed than what I was going for. You've captured the Yami that I was trying for with the bio I sent you very well.

I'm looking forward to the future chapters for this quite a bit.

Haha! Well, Choco, you'll find out why soon, like it or not! xD Also, in case you missed it Tress, I'm using my blog thingy as a character/overall data-base, so people can get more info on each character. Of course, anything that I believe needs to be hidden from the views about certain characters, for the sake of the story, will be... Well, hidden xD Also, don't worry Yami. There is a reaosn why I'm bending your persona's personality. Juuuust trust meh xD Anyways, third chapter here we go! :D

Chapter 3: Crimson, Psychic, and Mage Chain

Three Hours Earlier

Red eyes, black hair tied into a pony tail, covered by a black and red flannel hat with several different small badges on it. Oddly enough, this fella is the only Guardian to actually display his achievements. The rest of his attire, which was a silver buttoned vest with darker silver outlines, a tight long-sleeve black t-shirt with red stripes down the sleeves, followed by black gloves with silver armor padding that shined from the lights above him, covered his forearms and bits of his hands. He also wore black pants that has thick dark red stripes like his sleeves. His pants were tucked into his black boots with white lines down the center, fastened well and zipped up. This human was Fenroar, which anyone could of guess that because of his crimson red long sword. It was a wonder on how he could sing a weapon that was nearly his own height.

He shifted his weight a bit, trying to get comfortable as he leaned against the red and black wall. He was currently in the Academy's lobby area. Many people passed him and a few even wondered why this man was staring at the ground so intensely. His eyes fixed on a single point as he zoned out. He allowed his memories to occupy him while he waited, unaware how deep his mind would venture into the past.

"Come on, Rabid... You can't blame yourself for this. We did the best we could-"

"No!! No we didn't! If we did then we wouldn't have lost him! He trusted me! He trusted me and I screwed up! How the hell do you expect me to move on, knowing he'll take more risks and rush to his death! Tell me, HOW!"

"We lie to him..." Another voice snapped him out of his thoughts. He looked to his left and set his eyes upon a large mage hat, and underneath it were a pair of gold colored eyes. The darkness that shrouded this person's face made it seem like their eyes were glowing. His attire completely covered him. Not a single open space was seen to identify if this person was even human. From his long coat that split towards the end, to his knight-like shinguard, and even his long sleeves over lapping his black gloves, every inch of him was covered and hidden. His voice was the only thing that pinned him as a male.

"Still thinking about Lord Fate I take it..." Fenroar simply nods his head to the speaker as he slowly returned his eyes to the ground.

"Ludi... Don't you feel a bit responsible for what happened?"

"Not really... Rabid chose to solo it. So he pays the price of his mistakes. As harsh as this sounds, he chose to split from us, his Chain Team, and handle things on his own... I don't take any offense to him branching off and forming his own Chain... Not that he really had a choice." Fenroar slowly nods his head as he listened. He still wasn't convinced, yet he trusted Ludichaos. No matter how bizarre his advice might be, he has never steered Fenroar wrong.

"You know, he still blames you for it... 'Said you should of listened to him for a change and went with his plan." Ludi took a moment to take this in. Even though he knew this information already, being reminded of it wasn't too pleasant.

"I know... But, he should of listened to his Chain Commander. Even though I'm considered a Buffer and Support Guardian on the field, I know how to reach our goal without causing any casualties-"

"Dear God... You two talking about Fate's son again?" A female human spoke as she approached them. Her pink and blue trimmed dress, mixed with her candy-cane colored stockings clashed with her mean-like demeanor. She stood in front of them and crossed her arms, leaning on one hip as she displayed a serious look, maybe even one of boredom.

"Um... Pianta... Where is our students we're supposed to train?" Fenroar asked as he raised his eyebrow a bit. She thought for a moment as she gazed at the lights above her.

"Oh... I didn't like any of them in the C-Block barracks. So I figured I'd wait until the D-Block barracks announce their training calls." Both Fenroar and Ludi looked at her with a blank face on. They didn't know how to react to this. Ludi on one hand didn't much care and figured it'd give him more time to do nothing and relax. Fenroar on the other hand didn't know how to over come this setback, nor did he know what to do next.

"Huh... Well, guess we could-"

"Code 12-9 in the main lobby, right counter. I repeat, Code 12-9 in the main lobby, right counter. Any Chain Teams in the area please investigate."

"Great... Another computer acting up again... Copy, Head Command. CPM Chain responding." Pianta sighs after informing the HC that they would check out the situation. After releasing the small button on her ear piece she sighs with a bit of annoyance.

"Cheer up, at least we get to do something around here... Right?" She blinks slowly at Fenroar as he finished his sentence. A bit of nervousness swept over him as he lightly smiled and moved a bit closer to Luid, ready to hide behind the mysterious clothed person.

"Whatever... I suggest calling in a new computer though, since I'm most likely going to punch a hole in it." With that said she took the lead and headed across the lobby. Ludi smirked within his shadow hidden face.

"Come on, before she breaks more than one computer." Fenroar nods with a smirk as he followed his Chain Commander to the counter, stationed in the center of the lobby. Upon arrival the trio examined the computer. Pianta quickly wheeled the lady operating the computer out of her way. Had that been anyone else than Pianta, she would of snapped at them. In this case the lady simply got up and watched from behind them.

"Ugh... You guys know none of this crap makes sense to me. So, let me know when I can break the damn thing-"

"Hey! What the heck is going on here?" The trio looked over to their right. One of the other operators was staring at his computer with a very confused expression. Soon, all the other operators did the same. It wasn't long until the entire circular counter was a buzz with confusion.

"The hell is going on here?" Pianta questioned to herself. Suddenly one of the males tensed up as he stared at the screen. A digital dark black hand started to extend itself from the screen and slowly reach out towards the man. He was awe struck, or paralyzed with fear. Either way he was frozen and remained motionless until it slowly placed its hand on his face. He suddenly screams in pain as it gripped his head firmly and squeezed. Within several seconds the man was transformed into a dark shadowy creature. Its eyes were solid white with grey pupils. Its head pointed into a single horn as it opened its mouth and displayed its fire-like teeth. Suddenly more shadow-hands rushed out of the computers and began turning people into these dark creatures while everyone went into a mass panic. In a matter of minuets chaos had erupted as the creatures began attacking and sucking the life out of anyone who wasn't infected.

"Pianta!"

"On it!!" She quickly shouts back to Ludi as she lunged towards the center of the chaos. She quickly formed a barrier around the survivors within the central lobby desk they were in. She grunted a bit in pain as the shadow-hands began to bang and pound on her telekinesis barrier.

"Fenroar, take down those dark beings while I boost Pianta's barrier strength."

"Got it." In a surge of electricity Fenroar vanished and zoomed towards the lobby's main exit. He blazed pass the dark beings and appeared before them as he slid on his feet from the momentum. Bursting forward in a zigzag formation he quickly cut down each being with one single stoke of his sword. On his last five speedy-slashes within a span of two seconds he slid into the last creature and plunged his sword into its chest. It screeched with a chime-like squeal and burst into digital particles. Fenroar's eyes widen as he looked at his blade. There was blood on it. Black blood that dripped and formed into particles before hitting the ground.

"Barrier is stable, Pianta. Now scan the area for the one the who triggered this."

"Yeah, sure. Just make sure my ass doesn't get bit!" She shouts back, seeing as how Ludi had placed himself further away from them. She shook her head briefly, thinking he was a coward for backing away from the origin of this mess. She closed her eyes and relaxed herself as she slowly breathed in, then slowly breathed out. Her eye lids moved rapidly as she scanned and searched every mind within the area. Once that was done she branched out her search. Finally she fixed on a person fleeing the scene through the air ducts. She was suddenly thrown back as her eyes flung open. Her back hit the ground a bit harder than she expected, making her wince a bit as she held her head for a moment.

"I found her... Shes wearing some kind of clock that blocks me from reading her."

"Go after her. Me and Fenroar will clean up here." She didn't needed to be told twice as she was already getting up and racing for the lobby doors before Ludi could finish his sentence. She didn't like that this robed woman pushed back, 'mind power' wise of course. At this point Fenroar had already sliced through several computers which caused the shadowy hands to explode into tiny pieces.

"Fenroar... We gotta big problem here." He just finished slicing the last computer when he paused and looked at Ludi confused. Ludi was looking towards the high ceiling, which made Fenroar do the same. All the beings he killed were now reforming and coming together to form one giant dark monster. The monster began to take shape, five horns in stead of one, female torso, long thick tail, three toes instead of two, and one large shredded looking wing on its left side. By this time Ludi and Fenroar were alone as everyone else ran for their lives.

"Ludi! Look out!" Fenroar shouts as he pointed to his feet. A large symbol was glowing under him. Before he could even think of a thought a beam of light roared from the symbol and engulfed Ludi completely. The light was sucked back into the symbol, revealing that Ludi was gone. A robed figured slowly walked to where Ludi was just standing. His hood covered his face completely, not to mention his head was hung low to prevent his eyes from being seen. Finally the giant dark being was completely formed and dropped to the ground. It landed with a loud boom that shook the lobby. It was fifty feet tall, which was half the height of the lobby's ceiling, which was one hundred feet tall.

"Don't worry, he isn't dead." A female voice spoke from behind Fenroar. He quickly spun around and readied his blade. His mouth slowly dropped as he stared upon the speaker.

"Y-you... How... What are you doing here? How are you apart of this?" He asked, trying to get the proper words in his shocked state.

"You would betray us!?" Anger quickly came over him as he readied his weapon again. She laughs mockingly for a moment, then tossed her hood that was attached to the robe she was wearing over he head.

"Don't be so shocked, Fen... After all, I'm not the only one keeping a secret. Now, I wonder what would happen if Fate found out the truth about his son." Her smirk quickly faded into a serious and deathly frown. Something caught his eyes though. He looked at her hand for a moment. Blood was streaming down her arm and dripped onto the floor. She raised her partly bloody hand and examined it before wiping the blood off with her robe.

"You can thank Pianta for that... And no, she isn't dead either. Actually, you'll be joining her shortly." She informs him as she lowered her hand. It didn't take Fenroar long to realize what she meant. Under his feet was the symbol that caused Ludi to vanish from sight. To which, the same thing happened to him. A bright light shot out of the symbol and engulfed him completely. The light faded away, along with Fenroar, leaving the two robed members in the lobby with the large dark being in the center...

Present Time

"Red!! Look out!!" Otogi shouts as she kicked away one of the dark creatures. Red spun around to look behind him and spotted two dark beings advancing on him. He got into his fighting stance and waited until they were close enough. Leaping forward he pounded his right foot into the first being's head, then used the force of his kick to spring himself off of the being and come back down like a bullet towards the second. Driving both feet into the back of its head he managed to make it explode into particles as he crushed its head underneath his feet.

"Red, Otogi! Stop holding back and use your-" Yami was interrupted as three creatures leaped towards him. He raised his arm up and quickly clenched his fist which caused a roar of wind to burst forward and smash into his attackers. They screeched as they were thrown back and slammed against the nearest wall to him.

"-Your powers to thin out this mess!" He finished shouting as he planted his foot into one of the being's face and drove it into the ground. It exploded once its head was crushed under his foot.

"I don't think thats a good idea! My powers are a bit-"

"Trust me! Whatever you think about your powers, it can't be worse than this! Now thin out this herd so we can find the point of origin and rid of it!" Red was still unsure of himself. Even after being cut off and told to go ahead, he wasn't confident in himself.

"Right... Well... I guess here goes nothing." He comments to himself as he became a bit more serious. His fists began to form a red substance over them that slowly formed into spheres around his hands. He waited once again for the creatures to attack him, placing himself at a good distance from Otogi and Yami. The first creature in a group of four took the lead and lunged at him. He reached back his arm and rocketed his fist forward to hit the creature... BOOM! A loud booming noise, followed by a small gust of wind, rushed out upon impact. Yami nearly feel on his rear as the sound alone was loud and powerful. More booming sounds followed as Red continued his assault on the creatures, him being the attacker now while they tried to run and flee. Each hit blasted away up to four of them depending how close they were from Red.

"Well... Now I know why he doesn't like using his power." Yami comments to himself as he held his ears a bit. Paying attention to Red caused him to drop his guard. He was unaware that one of the creatures was gunning for him with intentions to pounce and feed on him. As soon as he turned around to face his next attacker it was already in mid air and reaching its arms out towards him. Within a second it suddenly dropped like a fly as a gun shot went off. Yami looked to his right to find Rabid aiming his gun yet his focus was already on another target.

"Pay attention, Yami. I don't like making it a habit to save guardians." Yami could only blink a few times at his words. He tilted his head a bit as he spoke.

"Uh... I didn't know you were saving me... Could of handle that on my own but-" Yami quickly raised his hand up which caused a rush of wind to shred through one of the creatures attacking from behind him.

"-Thanks anyways... I guess..." After being ignored Yami just lightly shrugs and turned his attention back on Red and Otogi. The two of them managed to defeat the last few of them but they bound to send more. Before Yami could take a step to join the two students a symbol faded into existence before him. He raised an eye brow in confusion as he recognized the symbol.

"Isn't that..." Suddenly Pianta comes flying out of the symbol in a flash of light and collides with Yami. They fall to the ground as Yami managed to break her fall, taking most of the impact. They both moan a bit as they lay there for a moment.

"Ah... Pianta? You okay there?" Yami asked her as he tried to sit up without tossing her off of him so suddenly.

"Yeah just... Give me a second..." She replied with a bit of a blush, holding her head a bit as she slowly sat next to him.

"Ahem... Yami, dear... Why was Pianta all over you just now...? You're not doing anything behind my back-Ah!" Before Tricks could finish her 'serious' question, seeming to appear next to them randomly, Ludi crashes into her in the same fashion that Pianta collided with Yami. As well, Ludi and Tricks hit the floor with a louder thud than Yami and Pianta did.

"What the-Who the hell-get off me-Ugh your so heavy for a... Whatever you are!" Tricks shouts as she tried to move Ludi off of her. She didn't get very far until he moved himself and sat next to her.

"Geez! Whats with you guys anyways-"

"Cross-Faith... Hes the source of our problems." Ludi interrupts her before she goes on a rant. He motioned to stand up when his eyes laid upon Rabid, still standing a bit of a ways from the group. Oddly enough, Rabid's 'death stare' was turned into one of sorrow for a moment as Ludi displayed the serious and stern expression. Though it was hard to tell from the darkness covering his face, Ludi tends to lower his head a bit so his mage hat partly covers his eyes and forms an evil glare. After the quick exchange of glances Ludi got to his feet and rubbed his shoulder a bit. Yami helped both Pianta and Tricks to there feet.

"Trixie, you're bleeding." Yami states with a bit of worry as he held her arm gently and examined the wound.

"Yes, I'm bleeding because while you four frolicked around with these evil whatevers, I rushed into the heart of the problem and took care of it. I admit, I was a bit overwhelmed, but my priority was ridding of the origin point, like all well trained Guardians are suppose to do."

"I didn't give you an order to branch off and fight on your own-"

"You didn't give us ANY damn order so what the hell was I suppose to do!?" Tricks eyes widen a bit as she looked at Rabid's evil glare. She turned her face away from him, blushing a bit as her form of apologizing while the group switched their sights from Rabid, to Tricks, and back to Rabid.

"I remember a certain someone disobeying a Chain Commander's order before... So I guess the 'training apple' doesn't fall far from the tree..." Ludi's words, along with his glaring eyes, were directed towards Rabid. The group became even more nervous now, knowing that Ludi rarely became this serious. After a moment or two of awkward silence Ludi turned his attention to Tricks once Rabid looked away.

"You did good, according to my books, Tricks..." Ludi adds with a simple nod. Tricks just waved her hand dismissively as if saying 'I know.'

"Teh... You guys make me sick." Cross-Faith's voice spoke as he slowly approached them. Everyone became tense as they slowly got into different formations. Upon seeing this the urban cowboy stopped walking.

"Alright, I know you all don't like me, but even I don't deserve-"

"What you deserve is my claws sinking into your skull." Tricks interjected as she got ready to attack. Her face completely changed as she saw someone round the corner and join Cross-Faith. Red and Otogi grasped as they displayed the most shocked expressions from the group.

"Hey there, Fate... Had a good nap?" Ludi broke the silence. The long red-haired male looked at each of them. His orange fire-like eyes shined brightly. He wore a dark brown sleeveless shirt made out of some kind of fur, a set of gauntlets on his forearms, spiked black armored boots reaching up to his knees, a dark brown tail that is long enough to wrap around his waist three times, acting as a belt even though his black leather pants doesn't need to be held up. Several scars and gashes can be seen on his exposed chest from the V shaped collar of his shirt, as well as on his arms and hands. There is a single scar going from the left side of his forehead to the back of his head. Most of it is hidden among his hair that reaches down to his shoulder blades.

"Not really..." Ludi simply nods in response to this, then waited to see if he had anything to say. It was never clear if Fate was joking or being serious. He hardly changed his expression, and seems to always be mad or serious. Of course, everyone knows Rabid picked up this trait from Fate. Only a few know that this happened after a certain event transpired. Others simply think Rabid looks up to Fate, when in fact that is far from the case.

"I already told him whats going on. Figured someone should before he finds out for himself-"

"And did you tell him you're the cause of the problem?" Tricks interrupted him once again. She slightly took a step back when Fate took two steps forward, most likely to warn her not to interject like that again.

"Yes... We figured it out together, actually." Everyone looked at Fate as if he was crazy. His words didn't make any sense.

"Cross-Faith has a twin brother. A clone, in fact. We kept this from you for two reasons... One, I have personally used his twin as a spy without the HC's green light to do so... Two, I suspect that several of our Guardians have leaked private information about our operations to an unknown source. I narrowed it down to several Chain Teams; the two Chain Teams currently in front of me, and a few more I will not disclose... I believe one of you here is the traitor I've been seeking..." The group remained silent as Fate's judging eyes moved from one person to another. Otogi and Red felt as if they got themselves caught in something they shouldn't be involved with.

"I'm going to ask you question, and for your own sake, I better receive a proper and straight forward answer..." He paused for a moment, allowing this moment to sink in as he prepared to ask the question.

"Which one of you killed Fenroar..."

It's me, isn't it. I'm calling doppel, right now.

Crackpot theorizing aside, this is what we've come to expect from your writing.
Which would imply it's getting stale; it's not, but it'd certainly be good to see you do something different later on.

Unresolved tensioooon~

I think you got the portrayal of Ludi I was angling at pretty spot on. And everything else seems to be in order. So good work there.

So Guardians are broken up into teams of three called 'Chains', huh? If that was explained before this chapter I missed it. Still, good to know. Also OH NO FEN IS DEAD WHAT. D: Figures I'd get partnered up with him and Pianta though. ¦P

All in all, good chapter. Time to sit on the edge of my seat waiting for the next one~

It wasn't me. I actually like Fenroar. Wait--unless he was a baddie. If he was a secret baddie, I probably killed him. RIP.

Anyways...I like it! When Tricks waved her hand dismissively at Ludi, she probably got a warm, fuzzy feeling inside. Ludi's my Australian big brother. = D

Ehehehe. You got her attitude right. She's nicer to Yami in private, after all.

But why did Fen have to die? He sounded like a nice guy. Again. = P

I'll go look at those bios now~.

Chapter 4: Eclipse Blossom

Outside The Academy

A large blueish cliff-like structure neighbors the academy. It is one of several main attractions because of the large blue blossom tree at the very top. There is a tourist trail that leads to the top, but it is hardly ventured since the cliff is more than three hundred feet tall. The cliff itself is massive in size. It spans out nearly as wide as the entire =SB= Base. It towers over the structures within the base, giving it a large amount of shade during certain hours of the day. A flash of light appears and spits out Fenroar form it. He lands with a light thud while making a 'oof' sound as he landed on his stomach. After laying there for a moment he rolls over and groans a bit. He relaxed for a moment, shaded by the large tree while the wind lightly breezed by.

"Well-" Upon hearing a slightly muffled voice he quickly sat up. His eyes laid upon a robed and hooded figure with a black bandanna covering his mouth. The black robe made him nervous, as there have been a lot of them showing up lately.

"-Congratulations, partner... You're official dead." The male removed his hood to reveal his face. Fenroar sighs with relief as he flopped onto his back again. The speaker looked exactly like Cross-Faith, only he didn't wear a hat which would cover his shoulder length braided hair.

"Sorry pal, it was the best I could do in this situation. And trust me, faking your death wasn't easy."

"I know, its fine." Fenroar replied as he closed his eyes and thought for a moment.

"I wasn't expecting her reveal who she was. Threw me off a bit actually."

"Could of fooled me. You didn't seem all too surprised if ya asked me." As Cross-Faith's brother finished talking Fenroar sat up and stretched a bit.

"I always assumed it was her. Call it a gut feeling I suppose. But yeah, I guess you're right. I was expecting it to be her for so long that I guess I believed it regardless if she was the traitor or not..."

"Hey, ease up there, pal. And you might wanna where this." He tossed Fenroar a black robe while finishing his sentence. Upon catching it he raised his eye brow a bit. He shook his head a little before he got up and put it on. He propped the hood over his head but paused for a moment. Rolling his eyes to himself he removed his hat and tossed it to the robed cowboy.

"More evidence of my death, I guess... I want it back though." The cowboy simply nodded his head as he formed a cross made of light in front of him. He dropped the hat into the cross and watched it disappear in a flash of light.

"So, am I getting a code name or something?" Fenroar asked as he adjusted the hood over his head.

"I don't know. Normally we just go by a number and something after it... Well, you gotta climb up the latter in order to be among the XIII Royals. Right now, your robe number is one. All new recruits in the Unknown Royals start at one-"

"I know, I just need to know how to climb the latter." The cowboy didn't reply after he cut him off. It wasn't because he was interrupted, it was the fact of explaining the process of 'climbing the latter' that bothered him.

"I don't think you'll want to consume innocent lives, so I got a better idea... I'm currently a Rank VI Unknown Royal. Once you reach Rank III you'll be able to spawn Hauntmares. The number of Hauntmares increase with each rank. Not to mention it gives them different abilities once you reach Rank V-"

"Wait... What exactly are Hauntmares? I mean, where do they come from?" Once again the cowboy paused for a moment. He cleared his throat and continued to answer his question.

"The robe you're wearing is bound to you. Each time you take someone's life their Life-Essence gets absorbed into your robe, which turns their blood black and their bodies look dry as a bone... Once you collect enough Life-Essence your robe begins to change the LE into Dark-Hearts. Dark-Hearts can take may shapes once they're released from the robe. Their common and most basic form is the Hauntmare..." Fenroar's eyes were displeased and enraged. He has read several reports of people's bodies sucked dry. Most of the time they believe it to be one of the many creatures within Sonic Blast that leaves their prey in the same manner. His other reason for displaying such anger was about the cowboy and how he managed to reach such a high rank.

"First off, you know me better than that. I collected this much LE by consuming low ranked Unknown Royals. I'm not going to lie, some of them I did kill, but the majority of them wised up and fled when I gave them the chance." Fenroar eased up a bit as he looked at the robe he wore. He now understood why he felt an addition source of power feeding into him.

"So whats your plan?" The cowboy smirked as he crossed his arms and lowered his head a bit.

"You're gonna kill off hordes of Hauntmares from me. Your robe will consume their LE and build from there... Any questions?" Fenroar smirked back as he shook his head no. Having done that, he paused for a moment and became serious.

"Listen... I realize we're getting a little over our heads here. Knowing this you still haven't backed out or left me behind. There were several times you could of just let me get caught, even recently you could of let her kill me. You're taking huge risks of blowing your cover by helping me... I'm grateful, but I have to ask... Why?" The cowboy also became serious as he thought for a moment. He placed his hand under his chin as he nods his head slowly.

"Lilfate... Your main focus is getting him back from the Royals, and trying to figure out why they wanted him to begin with. Not only have you and two others lied to Lord Fate about his son being alive, but you added to that lie by not telling Ludi and Rabid you hired me and my brother for this secret mission. After hearing your story and hearing that no one would do anything about Lilfate, me and my brother agreed to help... From that moment on the only darn thing that kept poking my brain was the question you just asked... Why... I've been with the Royals for some years now and I've yet to find or scoop up anything on Lilfate's whereabouts, neither am I closer to figuring out what they plan on using him for... I know of their current plan and their main focus, but not their overall agenda... So to answer your question, I've staid by your side because I want to know that same answer... Why the heck are they keeping Lilfate captive..." Fenroar lightly smiled at this answer. Though it was a bit grim to hear the results of his search, the fact that this has become more than just a job to him pleased Fenroar.

"Thanks, Faith, if I haven't said it enough already." The cowboy smiles a bit and simply nods his head. It was at this point that Fenroar randomly thought of something.

"Now that you mentioned Lord Fate, records showed that he was found with a Eclipse Blade. I'm aware that the Eclipse Blade is from the Unknown-XIII island, but what does it do?"

----------------

Inside The Academy

"It is not your average sword used for fighting!" Otogi suddenly blurts out. She looked around for a moment as all eyes focused on her. Lord Fate just asked who killed Fenroar and she spews out something completely unrelated to the topic.

"Um... If this some how answers Fate's question then-"

"Yes! Yes it does-well... Actually, it does not in the way you would want it to... I mean..." Her voice went from loud to soft as her face changed from excitement to fear. She swallowed hard as she took a step back and felt sick to her stomach. She didn't like all the attention she was getting.

"I-its from the Unknown-XIII Island..." Red quickly comments as he joined Otogi's side, mainly to give her support. She lightly smiled at his nervous smile, until he bumped her with his elbow to continue her speech.

"Oh! Right... I use to tell Red-Boombox here a lot of folklore from my home town in the Private Zones under the RP Gardens. The story of the Eclipse Blade was one of many I was told as a child-"

"The Eclipse Blade isn't a tale told only in the Private Zone of the Gardens, sadly to say. I come from the ShackSide Life, central city of ShackSide itself and this story was told to me too. So unless you know something I don't about this story-"

"The blade is used as a portal..." Rabid cut off Pianta, still keeping his distance from the group in general. He wasn't even looking at them as he spoke, arms crossed and simply annoyed with this entire situation.

"No... No its not a portal. Its far worst! Its has the-"

"Look, newbie. We don't really care about your little story here. Someone is dead and all you can think of is myths?" Tricks interrupted her, leaning forward while placing her hands on her hips. Otogi was becoming even more nervous by the second. Not because of the Guardians, but that she herself would burst out in anger from being cut off so many times.

"B-but... Master Fate-"

"What part of shut-it don't you get!" Tricks screamed as she growled a bit. She was returned with a reaction she wasn't expecting. Otogi's eyes pulsated a black color when suddenly an invisible force bashed into the demon cat. Tricks smacked against the pillar they were all by, yelping a bit as she didn't expect such a force to hit her. Everyone was a bit wide eyed, including Rabid who actually saw something black move towards Tricks with blinding speed upon impact. He wasn't sure if he was seeing things or if Otogi lied about her abilities in her profile. Otogi herself gasped loudly as she cupped her hands to her mouth and lightly teared up. She mumbled the words 'I'm sorry' but no sound came from her mouth.

"As much as I dislike seeing a Guardian get tossed around like that, I have a feeling what you have to say is more important at the moment... So take your time, relax, and explain yourself carefully... Okay?" Ludi seemed to calm her down with his words. She slowly nods her head as she fixed her eyes on the floor. Yami had already helped Tricks to her feet, who was cursing under her breathe while dusting herself off.

"Okay... Um... Well, you are right, Master Rabid. It is indeed a portal. But it is far beyond just transporting things from one place to another..."

------------------

Outside the Academy

"So you're saying it transforms things into Dark-Hearts?" Fenroar asked as he scratched his head a bit.

"Sorta. Think of it as our robes. Once it becomes activated it consumes anything within its path and turns it into Dark-Hearts. Instead of building up LEs for the transformation into Dark-Hearts like our robes do, the sword does this process in one single step with whatever comes in contact with it. The Dark-Light path sucks in any and all LE within a thousand foot radius. If it consumes a large amount of LE within that radius, the radius itself will continue to expand. Not to mention that it will continue to pump out Hauntmares and many other Dark-Heart creatures." Fenroar listened intensely, picturing the entire thing in his head. He shakes his head a bit as his imagination of this event was not a pretty one.

"That means this entire world could be consumed in a matter of days..." The cowboy nods his head to confirm Fenroar's thought. It suddenly hit him that they were in a lot more danger than he previously thought.

"How did this come about? I mean, who would create such a thing?"

------------

Inside The Academy

"M-my great grandfather made it. That is how I know of its true functions." Otogi comments with a bit of nervous, yet she stood there with more pride of this fact.

"He was the greatest forger in the Gardens. He created an array of weapons, not just for the royals, but for the low-class citizens as well. He hid the plans and blueprints of the two swords-"

"Time-out... What do you mean two sword?" Cross, Faith's brother, asked as he displayed a bit of confusion. Fate seemed to know something about this. He raised his hand up a bit to signal Otogi to stop for a moment and allow him to explain.

"My father came to this great forger. He made a request, to make a sword with certain powers and abilities. He asked that the sword be presented as one, but actually be twin blades. Combined they display completely different powers than when they are separated. He demanded that both blueprints of both swords be separated. He kept one, and her great grandfather hid the other. What Otogi does not know, is that these swords were forged with dark materials. Items that are from a different realm than ours."

-----------------

Outside the Academy

"Faith... If Fate has one of the swords, where is the other one?" Upon hearing Fenroar's question Faith lowered his head in shame. He shook his head a bit as he tried to find the words to say.

"I brought you up here for another reason, partner..." Fenroar began to tense up. His body seemed on high alert for some reason. Sweat began to form on his forehead as he intensely listened to Faith.

"The thing about the Eclipse Blade, is that its name is how you activate it. If you align the two swords along with the sun or moon, the swords will automatically activate-"

"Faith... Where... Is... The other sword."

"If I brought you with me, I could ensure your safety. I could send you anywhere away from the consuming darkness that would soon spread-"

"Faith!! Tell me where the damn blade is!!" Fenroar burst forward like a lighting bolt and tackled Faith into the base of the tree. His eyes were wild with panic as he pinned the cowboy with clenched fists digging into his robe. Faith had streams of tears running down his face. He kept his head lowered so he wouldn't look into Fenroar's eyes.

"Faith! People will die if you don't tell me! This entire WORLD will be done for!! Tell me!"

"Y-ya know... This is the highest spot next to the base... Well, the top of this tree would be the highest spot actually." His soft spoken words reached Fenroar but it wasn't the answer he wanted. That was until Faith finally looked at him with his teary eyes and lightly smiled.

"I kind of looked up to you, partner... Now would be your chance to do the same." More tears poured out as he spoke his final words. In a flash of light Faith vanished without a trace. Fenroar shielded his eyes from the quick flash of light for a moment. He frantically looked around for Faith, panicking as he felt his impending doom creep upon him. Finally he realized what Faith was trying to tell him. He quickly looked up and squinted his eyes to see pass the many branches of the tree. There, shining like a diamond in a desert, was the blade floating a few feet above the blossom tree. Like a bolt of lighting Fenroar shot straight up into the sky. He appeared in front of the blade as pieces of branches and leafs floated briefly with Fenroar as he examined.

Suddenly it started to hum, which made the human very nervous. Before he could react a dark aura covered it and began to grow. His eyes widen as a silver and white sphere began to take form and grow. Once it reached the size of a soccer ball it rapidly spun in place. Fenroar quickly zipped out of there as it shot a silver beam of light down towards the =SB= Base, aligning itself with the Guardian Academy. Free falling to the ground, Fenroar could only watch with horrified eyes as the beam of light crashed into the side of the academy. His eyes caught sight of the Blossom tree changing into a dark color as an evil howl came from the sword. His body eased up, his eyes slowly closed, and his mind blanked out as he continued to fall to his death. It was like his mind and body accepted that he had failed. Even if he could escape this free fall, how would he escape the darkness that already started to consume this world.

His eyes flung open as he felt something warm beaming on his back. He slowly spun around to face the ground. His eyes were confused as he saw a glowing cross free falling with him, or rather under him. Suddenly the glowing cross erupts into pure light and engulfs him completely. Not even a second went by as his body hit solid ground. Once again he landed with an 'oof' sound as the wind was knocked out of him. The ground was cold, as well as the air around him. He felt a chill as he tried to get his breathe back.

"Nice job, rookie... Way to place the 'mantle of doom' there." A familiar voice spoke to him. Knowing it was Faith he took his time getting to his feet. It wasn't until he realized he was surrounded by robed and hooded persons that his body became tense. He almost forgot that he too was wearing a robe until Faith reminded him.

"Don't worry pal, the robe is a bit bothersome, but you'll get use to it... Keeps the Guardians out of our heads, and masks our presence. Its not fashionable, but you can decorate yours however you like." It all came back to him now, and he remembered his objective.

"Whatever... I remember you keeping a certain promise if I put that doomsday stick above the tree." At this point he was simply playing along with Faith, seeing as all hidden eyes were on him now. Faith smirked as he crossed his arms.

"That I'd be 'worthy' enough to kick you tail all over this place... Its okay to admit you're afraid of course. It'll just make this ass-kicking more enjoyable." Fenroar wasn't sure if he was trying too hard. However, Faith did say he'd rank up by killing off his Hauntmares.

"Oddly enough, you're the first rookie that thinks he can take me... Guess I gotta show you why they don't dare step to me." With that said Faith uncrossed his arms and slowly got into his fighting stance. Fenroar did the same thing. Even if this was just a front, Fenroar would be fighting as if his life depended on it. Sonic Blast was his secondary mission. Finding Lilfate was his priority now. Even though it hurt Faith to do such a thing to his own home world, Faith always had a backup plan. Fenroar believed that Sonic Blast wasn't lost for good. Having this thought in mind, he was about to prove that he would shred anyone standing in his way from finding Lilfate. But first, he needed to become stronger among the Royals.

"I didn't place a world in darkness just to fight you... I did that to prove that I can take you all on... If you're standing in this cave of a room, consider yourself a target... Consider yourself dead." In a blink of an eye, Fenroar shot off like a lighting bolt, following him were several screams of pain...

Inside The Academy

"So... Are we really that much in danger? I mean, Master Fate only came back with one of the swords." Red asked as he looked from person to person. Otogi simply shrugged at this question. She didn't really know where the second one was. In fact, she was surprised that Fate managed to come back with one.

"Maybe the same girl that stabbed him with the sword has the other one, and might of killed Fenroar." It was at this point that everyone looked at Cross. No one knew how Fate's attacker looked like.

"You... You saw her?" Yami asked as he moved closer to Cross. The cowboy slightly shook his head.

"No, she was wearing a robe of some kind-"

"Wait a second... No one is going to even question where Master Fate was all this time?" Tricks cut in, looking around as if everyone lost their minds. To which, everyone simply shrugged or shook their heads no.

"In case you're forgetting, Fate as more reign to do whatever he wants than any of us... It sucks, but I don't mind it. He does all the grunt work while I sit back and do noth-"

"Tricks..." Pianta spoke up as she fixed her eyes on Tricks wound on her arm. She paused her a moment as her heartbeat began to rise.

"Where did you say you got that cut from?" Tricks raised an eyebrow for a moment before looking at her wound.

"Horde of nasty little whatevers attacked me while I rushed the terminal they were flooding out of... Why?"

"Two reasons..." Rabid spoke as he aimed his rifle at Tricks. The group turned towards Rabid and tensed up, not expecting for the guy to already have his gun trained on her.

"First, those creatures attacked us as well. My cloths and skin have burn marks from their claws and teeth, not slashes... Second, Pianta can form varies weapons within her hand. Each time her weapon cuts something, your flesh for example, the wound opens the opposite way. Normally your average cutting weapon creates a wound that opens from the outside in. Pianta's weapons cut from the inside out, as if something came out of your skin, not slicing through it... You're wound is from the inside out..." Boom!!! The entire building shook with so much force that the lights and parts of the ceiling came crashing down. It was like an earthquake was triggered right under the academy. Everyone found themselves on the floor. The remaining lights flicked while sparks snapped from loose and dangling wires.

A bit of dust settled from the violent shaking that just took place. One by one they all started to regain themselves and stand to their feet. A few of them coughed as they waved away the smoke.

"That was... Totally unexpected..." Yami comments as he started dusting himself off. He suddenly shouts in pain as he felt someone body check him into a near by pillar that cracked due to the amount of force from the shove.

"What the-Who the hell is this-"

"Where the hell is your girlfriend, robe boy!" Pianta shouts as she formed a purple crystal like dagger in her free hand while her elbow was pressed against Yami's chest.

"Pianta, calm down a bit-"

"No!! How the hell do we know he isn't with them! He ALWAYS wears a robe to begin with!" Ludi sunk his head in a bit of a shame as he heard this. He sighs and shook his head before speaking.

"We can't go around and accuse people of being a traitor just by their attire selection."

"What about his affiliation with Tricks? Aren't they together or something?" Cross asked as he stretched his back a bit. Ludi thought for a moment, then shrugged with a slight nod.

"Yeah, that could be held against him... Pianta, put a leash on him."

"What!!" Yami shouts as his eyes widen with pure shock. Suddenly a dark purple glowing collar snaps around Yami's neck. Attached to it was a chain that was wrapped around Pianta's hand.

"You'll have to earn our trust, Yami. Regardless of this recent discovery, we have other-"

"We have to leave!!" Otogi suddenly shouts with pure fear coursing through her bones. Her entire body shook as she breathed heavily. Before she could say another word a loud evil howling sound roared from above, yet again shaking the entire building structure.

"Cross, execute Seventh Ring. After that inform your brother where we are." Fate ordered as Cross just listened. He nods his head casually as he finished stretching.

"Everyone, take a deep breathe... Oh, hope you can swim." Suddenly a blinding light shines from Cross as everyone tried to shield their eyes from the brightness. Within seconds the light consumes everyone and vanishes as quickly as it appeared. Everyone had vanished within the light, Fate and Cross included. As the light faded away a haunting darkness surged through the entire academy. Within minuets half of the base was transformed into a dark gloomy building with Hauntmares howling their awakening cries...

Holy freaking crrrraaaaaaaaap. Dude what am I doing?! I left Yami behind with a crazy Pianta!!! D =

Tricks needs to go back for Yami. It's the only way. Maybe Ludi as well.

Aaaaanyways...I like the suspense! And hooray for still-living Fenroar!

That was... Quite the twist. Is Pianta the villain, or Trix and Yami? Or, was Pianta simply leaping to conclusions, and Trix was kindly covering for her? Or... I don't know. But that was definitely a big twist.

"Y-you...

"Trixie, you're bleeding." Yami states with a bit of worry as he held her arm gently and examined the wound.

Is Pianta Trix the villain,

... Yup :D

Honestly speaking, I thought I gave it away when I had Yami check Tricks arm, after the hooded woman told Fenroar that she had gotten it from Pianta. xD Oh, and for once... I'M NOT THE BAD GUY YAAAY!! xD

Now the question is... Are there anymore villains among us :o

Huh. That actually completely eluded me. xD; I saw the hints, but I can't say I found myself assuming Trix was the villain, haha. I actually thought that she would have had a good reason if she was involved in all that. Now I have to wonder if Yami is involved as well.
