Flying Battery Act 2

Hello everyone. About a month ago, I fulfilled one of my lifelong dreams. I managed to find the time and money to visit Japan. Mostly I visited a lot of sites in Tokyo, although I did get in one day trip to the shrine town of Nikko. I wanted to share some of the pictures I took while I was there. http://smg.photobucket.com/user/Nail_Strafer/library/Japan?sort=3&page=1 You can use the bar on the left to navigate through the subalbums I put under the main "Japan" album. I especially recommend the Akihabara album for all of you anime and gaming fans, since that's basically one of the top destinations in the world for both. I bought some Sonic and Knuckles plushies while I was there ![]() By the way, I wanted to show this photo in particular with me at the top of Tokyo Tower. I'll give you three guesses on which person in the picture is me ![]()

Flying Battery Act 2

Thank you for posting, both of you. It was a 15-hour travel time, both ways. What was even worse was that my flight back from Tokyo was cancelled due to mechanical issues, and I ended up getting home eight hours later than I was supposed to. Tokyo isn't that bad of a destination if you don't know much Japanese but do know English. Everyone in Japan is required to take English in high school, plus all of the important signs (like streets maps, train platform signs, warning signs) have English on them. Most of the tourist spots are the same way. As you leave the touristy areas (i.e. places where non-Japanese would be rare) you may run into trouble though. Do make sure to get a good guidebook though. Without my guidebook I would have had no idea what half the things were at Tokugawa Ieyasu's burial temple in Nikko. For me, the most useful phrases in Japan were "sumimasen" (excuse me) and "arigato" (thank you). Japan is pretty much the most polite place in the world, and I don't think I'll ever see such a level of friendliness anywhere else. Edited by Nail Strafer, Jun 27 2013, 03:27 AM.
