THE DOJO IS BACK. Those that remembered the months leading up to Brawl shall remember this. Hopefully they're following the same formula, show info every now and then leading up to the game.

Post speculation and whatnot here. Go crazy.

I'M SO FREAKING EXCITED IT'S GOING TO BE ON THE 3DS HFAKDVNDWNIERNS.

Seriously, guys. My video game life is going so well right now. You don't even know.
It all starts with this... A jewel containing the ultimate power!

Every world has its end. I know that's kinda sad, but... That's why we gotta live life to the fullest in the time we have. At least, that's what I figure.

I'm excited that Mega Man is going to be in the game. I wonder what other characters are going to be in it.

Wii Fit trainer? Seriously?

...ugh...

Regardless, I hope they bring Sonic back.

And I REALLY hope they bring in Blaze. The roster could use some more females.

It's stupid, it makes no sense, but don't treat it seriously! Treat it as seriously as Game & Watch and ROB. If you do, you're missing the goofiness of SSB. :D

But yeah, although Blaze is longshot, I want to see more females too. Lucina from Fire Emblem please. ;___;

The new Smash looks freaking fantastic. I absolutely love the cell-shaded look of the 3DS version. I will definitely get both versions when the game comes out.

And I'm going to be the first to say this; I do not, and I mean do NOT want a bunch of 3rd party characters in this game. Seriously whenever I hear people say they want a bunch of 3rd party characters I always think; why?

Since the very beginning, Super Smash Bros. has been a cross over game for Nintendo franchise. Nintendo. Franchises. Freaking. Nintendo. Franchises. Nin-freaking-tendo franchises. Mario? Owned by Nintendo. Legend of Zelda? Owned by Nintendo. Pokemon? Owned by Nintendo? Kid Icarus? Owned by freaking Nintendo.

Understand that I don't mind a few third party characters. I was fine with Snake and Sonic in Brawl because since it was just those two, it barely took away from the fact that it was still a Nintendo-based cross-over fighter. As long as they limit the 3rd party characters in this game, I will have no problem.

But if this game basically overloads us on them, I will not be happy. It would make absolutely no freaking sense to have a shit load of 3rd party characters in this game. It would be like if the 360 version of the first Sonic and Sega Racing game didn't have just Banjo, which I had no problem with, but Conker, Johnna, those characters from Jet Force Gemini whose names completely escape me, Kameo, and a bunch of other Rare characters in a game that is a SEGA crossover game. It would make no goddamn sense!

So yeah, keep the 3rd party characters to a minimum.

Nintendo said they're not going to allow just anyone in Smash Bros. so I think you can ease your fears there. Two or three is again what I'm expecting.

Which is why I keep trying to tell people having characters other then Sonic is unlikely, assuming if Sonic himself even comes back. >.>

If I hear one more person groaning about Wii Fit Trainer's inclusion I'm going to get reaaaal grumpy.

Also I was going to make this thread last night but I forgot.

Anyway, pretty hype. Had a loooot of thoughts about this on another site but there's no way I'm going over them all again. Instead, I'll share with you guys what I believe Mega Man's move-set will look like:

Mega Man move list prediction

I'm about 95% sure this is accurate based on what I've seen from the videos. Probably doesn't mean much if you don't like the series, but I'm really pleased by the fact his move list is almost entirely made up of weapons he gets from the bosses in the series.

The other thing I'm particularly excited about is the fact that Bowser could actually be decently playable in a competitive environment. I wanted so badly to main him in Brawl but he was outclassed by pretty much everyone in the cast. But he looks a little more mobile now. Also I really like the look they've given him this time. It's taken three games, but they finally got him looking right in a Smash series title.

I'll most likely be grabbing both versions, going halfsies with my friend for the Wii U version. Different stages for both is pretty nice and Smash on the go is too good to pass up.

It's not cell-shaded. All they've done is add a thick outline to the characters for the purpose of making them easy to see. It does look nice, but it's definitely not cell-shading.

Nope. As cool as she might be, I don't see it happening. Besides which, she's kind of plot centric. She's a little spoilery, I think.

Thank god!

Though, with this partnership between Nintendo and Sega, I can easily see Sonic making a return.

Also, Wii Fit Trainer is win. Totally going to main her.

As a general rule for third party characters, I feel they have to be iconic in some sort of way. Sonic was pretty much Mario's greatest rival back in the day and Snake hails from one of the most highly acclaimed series of all time.

Mega Man has been around almost as long as Mario and had his start on the NES. Which really makes him the most appropriate candidate for a guest star.

Sakurai isn't going to give into fan demands. If anything from a 3rd party series gets in, it'll likely be the main character. Not their sidekick. Not their rival. Not their arch-nemisis. Just them. So, for those of you crying out for Tails, Blaze and whatever: Stop. It's not happening. Frankly I'd be surprised if Sonic gets back in.

And don't even get me started on characters from other media. It's a gaming crossover for cryin' out loud.

Am I the only one who thought Snake's inclusion in Brawl was a little odd? Because when I think of Metal Gear, Nintendo does not come to my mind. Yeah, there have been games on Nintendo consoles but when I think of the series, I think of Sony, not Nintendo.

And since Namco is helping with the game, does anyone think we'll get Pac-Man?

He did have a few Metal Gear games back on the NES. But you're not really supposed to think Nintendo with Snake. He's Konami. Do you think Nintendo with Sonic? ¦P

Though it was basically a result of Hideo Kojima asking him to include Snake in Smash.

And yeah, that's one of the speculations I've heard. I'd personally prefer something like Klonoa from Namco, but eh~

I meant in terms of the systems they perform best/are most on. And what systems are Metal Gear games more/best one? Sony systems. It's like how Sonic performs better on Nintendo systems.

what if we opened a thread separate from this just for the dreamers like me? Where you can post what characters you want in there and their move sets. Also post items, assists, and levels. Then we can get all our dreaming out and be ready to face reality when it hits of over the head with a skillet.
