So I was playing Harley Quinns Revenge and I got an unreadable disc error along with this weird grinding noise. Any solutions?
Gonna dropkick it.

Have you tried another disk?
Yes, it makes the noise regardless upon startup.

If it helps, It's the 4gb 360 and I just installed my new 250gb harddrive
Gonna dropkick it.

Does it still play the games or are they all unreadable?

That I'm not sure, I'll test it real quick, but as far as Arkham City goes it reads it for a bit then says it's unreadable
And now it starts up, but doesn't even go to the dashboard, it just freezes at the 360 startup screen

Then I would say your console is knackered and needs to go to be repaired.

Your Xbox may have overheated. It happens. Unfortunately, I think you need to get it repaired...

This actually sounds kind of like when my PS3 overheated. I didn't need to send it in for repairs; I just needed to completely shut it off and unplug it from power for about a day, and then when I tried it again it was running perfectly fine. So, before sending it in and potentially wasting money, I would recommend trying that. If it doesn't help, then I suppose you're stuck with sending it in.

To me it sounds like an operating system failure or an overheated CPU. I'd try running it without the other hard disk, then factory reset if it doesn't come back on.

Actually now that I think about it some more, it could be that your disk drive is out of place. Do you leave it flat or keep it standing straight up?

Well I figured out the problem. It was this 250gb harddrive I ordered off Amazon causing the problem, so I guess I have to get another one that doesn't do that, or get some thumbdribes
Gonna dropkick it.

Corrupt hard drive. If the OS was even partially installed on the HDD then it couldn't load properly, keeping it from goog anywhere.

The grinding noise is the curios part. Unless It's just a malfunctioning piece of hardware. Maybe the needle isn't reading correctly. It could have been pushed in on the disc and scratched it up badly.
