I'm not offering an opinion on this just yet, but you may want to get a few words in.

IGN

Grumpy Cat – voted Meme of the Year at the 2013 Webby Awards – has landed a movie deal.

According to Deadline, the permanently moody feline will star in a 'Garfield-like' feature. This continues the success of 2012 for Grumpy Cat, a year in which she was named the year's most influential cat by MSNBC and the year's most important Meme by Mashable. She's certainly capitalising on her public profile, having already appeared on Today, Good Morning America, CBS Evening News, and The Soup.

Sonic and Raven! :3
I um... well I don't know how well this movie is going to turn out. I like the meme, but making a movie out of a meme just doesn't sound like it's going to be worthwhile to see. I don't see how they're going to make this even 30 minutes long, and as much as I love Garfield I really don't want to see something similar to that with Tardar Sauce (AKA Grumpy Cat). I guess we just need to see how it'll play out, but it'll most likely flop. :V

I agree with Ravenfreak on this one. I don't think basing an entire movie on a simple meme will end in success, however, I do imagine how the plot goes. Perhaps every meme that features Grumpy Cat being, well... grumpy about a specific topic might make it in, but there are just too many to name. In other words, showing a scene where a character is having a pleasant day and Grumpy Cat naturally responding with "I don't like you" or "I don't care" would work, but that's just a bland example. That's the only way I see for the movie to expand even 30 minutes. I, personally, don't care for the meme itself anyway. Grumpy Cat and Garfield are a little too similar minus the gender (yes, Grumpy Cat is female), but we'll see.

EDIT: I just noticed that this thread is almost two months old. My apologies.
