So with many games, TV series, and comic books, there are some pretty memorable moments in the franchise. How about we list our favourites? Here are some of mine. The Sonic 2 "Bad" Ending: I actually really love this ending, and prefer it over the canon end. While Sonic's falling down from the sky we see Tails go in his plane and save Sonic, which is their first real brotherhood moment in the game series, and we wouldn't see very much of those until Colors. In the "Good" ending, there is absolutely no point in Tails being there, as he does nothing for Sonic, and just flies next to him. Sonic and Shadow's first meeting: I've got this cutscene memorized, and could probably recite it backwards if I wanted to. (Hell, just take a peek at my signature) I don't know what it is that just makes this moment so great, but it's definitely one of the most memorable in the series, and arguably the most memorable in the entire game. Shadow's memories of seeing Maria before she died: Heads up, I'm talking about the Adventure 2 version of this scene. I just love how she saved Shadow and gave her final words, telling him to help humanity despite who killed her, and that line "Sayonara, Shadow The Hedgehog" is one of the most important lines of any Sonic game. (Trust me, I had a nerd rage moment when I realized that line wasn't in ShTH. It was an important line for his character.) Sonic's presumable death scene: I'm talking about Sonic Adventure 2 once again. The moment when Sonic was falling into the atmosphere and would have died had he not used the Chaos Emerald. And everyone assumes that he's died. It's interesting to see how the characters all handle the situation differently. Of course, Sonic is alive and well, wearing that cheeky-ass grin. Team Sonic and Team Rose's encounter: Some may disagree, but I absolutely loved this scene. This was real introduction to character battles in the Sonic franchise, and although the fight itself was just alright, I really loved this cutscene. You really get to see how stubborn Amy is in wanting to be with Sonic. I thought she was absolutely great in Heroes, and this moment really showed it. Watching this as an 8 year old, I thought it was a great way to show the relationship between the two. (Yes, I was a critic even then.) This was also the only team encounter that I really enjoyed watching. Metal Sonic's transformation sequence: This scene is long, I'll admit that, but man is it intimidating. I watched that scene as a thirteen year old and I was a little freaked out. It is seriously intense, even if it drags out a bit too much. The intro to Sonic 06: Although I've never played this game, and it seems pretty awful as a whole, I really love this opening cutscene. It has some of the most beautiful graphics to belong to a Sonic game, and the way Sonic's running around, attacking robots, and using his snappy one-liners is just great. Probably his most in-character moment in the entire game. It just gives you the wrong impression of the later scenes.  Sonic's Werehog transformation: When I was 10, I saw several advertisements on Television for Sonic Unleashed, which showed the Werehog transformation sequence. (Remember the commercial with that kid playing on the couch who turned into a werewolf?) Coincidentally, I was going through this huge werewolf obsession phase, and I was in love with the Sonic games at that point, so this was a must-own for me. I didn't end up actually playing the game until last year, but when I did, that opening cutscene did not disappoint. Some may disagree and hate the idea of the game altogether, but this moment means so much to me. Even putting nostalgia aside, this scene leaves a great impact. You know you're not just in for just another Sonic game. It's amazing to see how far Dr Eggman will actually go, proving the guy really has no limits. (Sonic X, take notes.) And he actually believes that he's killed Sonic while shooting him into the atmosphere, something that I don't think he's seriously attempted since SA2. Definitely one of the most powerful scenes in the series that definitely left a huge impact. Tails' sarcasm at the end of Sonic Colors: "We did it, Sonic!" "We? I don't remember you doing anything!" "Good job to you on inventing a translator that allowed us to speak to the aliens and figure out exactly what we needed to do so we weren't running around the park looking like idiots. Oh no wait, that was me." Tails' character really improved in this game by a landslide, and has some brilliant moments. This is one of them that had me on the floor laughing. Best use of sarcasm in anything Sonic, by far. Sonic going insane on the boat: I'll admit, I like Sonic X. Was it great? Probably not, but I had fun watching it. And this episode, where they're on the boat, is by far one of my favourites. I love how Sonic feels claustrophobic and can't run around. He just ends up going batshit insane, so much that he ends up flirting with Amy. This scene had me laughing more than any other in the anime. As much as I do like this couple, I doubt Sonic would flirt with her in his right mind, even if he didn't mean it and was using her. And when Amy figures out the truth and lectures him, leading to Sonic walking way, curling up and sulking. ("He's pissed off! Our hero's pissed off!") Sonic wearing the bracelet that Amy made for him: This scene is just plain cute. I try not to include shipping moments on these kinds of lists to often since it makes me feel biased (and I'm only a mild shipper), but this scene was played very well, whether you're a fan of Sonamy or not. Amy just goes through all that trouble throughout the episode to make the bracelet and give it to him to help him swim, only to see it get torn apart when she finally has the chance to hand it to him. In the end, you see that Sonic has it on. I really love the subtlety of it. I mean yes, they showed that he clearly had it on, but they don't talk about it, nor does he let Amy see it. Whether he cares for her or not in that way,(Although that is debatable in the anime continuity.) we can see that he clearly does still care for her, even if it's just as a friend. (Something that bothered me in Sonic Riders, actually, where he didn't care about her safety. He did save her in SA1 and SA2, so that was incredibly out of character. But this isn't the time to rant about that.) Climax Of SatAM: This one's very subtle, and I didn't figure it out until rolling along TVTropes, but the reason Sally decided to join Sonic in the final episode was because she believed that he wasn't going to make it out alive. I can't remember the details since I haven't seen that episode in over a year and I can't remember the exact trope I read it under(It can probably be found on the SatAM page.) but I know for a fact that I freaking loved the subtlety in this show. One of the most clever animated series I have ever seen, and with good reason. Sally didn't want to be without him, which is pretty deep, even for SatAM standards. I have a few more, however, I'll save those for another time, as I pretty much flooded the thread with this one post itself. Also, I may have usedd quite a few ideas you guys had in mind. My most favorite Sonic moment of all would have to be when Knuckles found out that Robotnik was the bad guy trying to steal the Chaos Emeralds, while Sonic was simply trying to stop him in S3K. The two characters were friends, yet rivals throughout the series after wards. But poor gullible Knuckles fell for Robotnik's tricks again in SA. :V Another one of my favorite moments was when Metal Sonic fell to his death, it was very emotional but Sonic himself didn't want him to fall. (IIRC... been a very long time since i've seen it...) |

I love tons of moments from the comics, such as when Sonic and Tails encounter two guards from the Battle Bird Armada. "I've got the one with the feathers. You take the one with the beak." "Good thing we've been doing this so long..." *both demolish their opponents* "...or I'd have no idea what you were saying."But I do especially love the Princess Bride reference when Tails takes down Dr. Fukuricovsomething's mole mech. "From one builder to another, call that thing off if you want it to stay in one piece!""My creation is invincible!" "Oh yeah?" *chucks wrench at mech which completely falls apart*"INCONCEIVABLE!!! Inconceivable, inconceivable, inconceivable..." "Why do you keep saying that word? I don't think it means what you think it means..."I was torn between cheering and rofling...so I choffled. |

I think most people can relate to Sonic's little 'Copyright law in the universe' line from Sonic Colors. That one was rather amusing, as was Eggman and Sonic's interaction prior to the final boss fight. |

A high point in the series for me was the opening cutscene of Sonic Unleashed. By far, that is the best intro cutscene of the entire series. |

First of all, I cannot agree more with the above statement. Second is another Sonic '06 scene. It's at the end of Sonic's story when the Egg Phoenix is falling apart. I never have and never will stand for Elise being there, but the way he just jumps his way UP the falling debris on to the cliff is just awesome. |

This is a toughie. If I was to go with just a few, it'd be the opening of Sonic Unleashed as well. That or the scene when Dark Gaia takes Sonic's powers away. I dunno, the werehog just looked pretty rad in those cutscenes. An honorable mention would be any moment in '06 that featured Mephiles, 'specially when he goes offscreen and spins in a circle. I don't care if this doesn't count, but that part in Wreck-It Ralph where Ralph flies into another game while hitting Sonic, causing him to lose rings, had me in stitches. |

I now remember a moment. It's the part where Amy didn'tRecognize Werehog Sonic and he was shocked. It looked like he was hurt, which is a rare moment. It was brilliant. |

Wow, I forgot about a ton of those. I would pick out my favourites if those, but I absolutely adore nearly all of them. Two more SatAM scenes that I loved, one being when Sally says "Sonic where were you when the brains were being handed out?" I don't know why, but I just find that line absolutely amazing. Another that had me was the whole "Fuel" scene between Antoine and Rotor. I was laughing so hard that I had to pause it for a good minute to begin breathing again. Again, I don't quite understand why, but it just killed me. Actually, I have an adorable scene in SatAM, which is hands down one of the most heartwarming moments in the entire franchise. That is the "Funny Kiss" moment. Tails being the only one to catch on to the Sally android because she didn't know about the Funny Kiss, once the real Sally returns, Tails is still suspicious. To prove that it's the real her, she gives him the Funny Kiss and he hugs her in relief. This scene is too cute for words, and my favourite in the animated series. |

^ Oh that is interesting. Because in the comics, Eggman roboticises Salley and then weaponizes her, and when she attacks Sonic he's all, "Come on Sally it's me!" And she says, "You are trying to reason with this unit? Where were you when they were handing out the brains?" Right after that is the scene where Antoine epicly sacrifices himself to stop mecha sonic from blowing up King Elias and his wife... |
