Good vibes.

For all of the 8-bit Sonic platformers (excluding Labyrinth and Triple Trouble), there were releases for both the portable Game Gear and the home console Master System. These include: Sonic The Hedgehog Sonic The Hedgehog 2 Sonic Chaos/Sonic & Tails Sonic Blast Overall, do you prefer the Gamegear versions, or the Master System versions? (Personally, I prefer the Master System versions, as it gives a much larger field of view.) Feel free to discuss the other 8-bit Sonic games here as well, like Sonic Drift 1 and 2, Sonic Triple Trouble/Sonic & Tails 2, and Sonic Labyrinth. Oh, and Sonic Spinball and Mean Bean Machine. Oh, and Tails Adventure and Tails Sky Patrol. Edited by FiniteZero, May 23 2013, 03:15 PM.

Sonic and Raven! :3

I personally like the GG games slightly better due to the fact that the GG has a better VDP, allowing for more colors on screen. Of course the bigger ratio aspect does help in Sonic 2, which is why most people can beat Underground Zone's boss on the SMS and not the GG but Mecha Green Hill's palette was atrocious on the SMS (though that's due to whoever made the palette, i've made a much better color background myself and there are other colors they could have picked from though the SMS allows only 64 colors on screen at once...) Plus Sonic Chaos GG version has added songs (speed shoes jingle, as well as a few unused tracks) is another reason why I like that version better. Edit: Also Sonic Blast was poorly ported to the SMS, and still used the GG's screen ratio. But that was Aspect's fault for porting the game poorly... Finally if you do enjoy Sonic Triple Trouble Glitch on Sonic Retro ported the game to the Master System if you'd like to check that out.
