In today's Nintendo Direct it was revealed that Nintendo has gone into a global partnership with Sega that will mean that the next game in the Sonic series (Titled Lost Worlds) will be released exclusively for the Wii U and 3DS.

Nothing else was revealed about the game apart for the above screenshot.

A patch should either be coming shortly or already available that will fix a few issues.

Sega announced a Sonic Lost World Free Update on the Nintendo Wii U today. This free patch is said to arrive shortly and will fix some gameplay issues. An emphasis is set on making the game a little easier, which would indicate people were having trouble with it.

For instance, the age-old mechanism of collecting 100 rings will yield players an extra life again, as it has always been.

Complementing this, reaching a Game Over screen will take double the amount of time, as a continued playthrough yields 10 lives, instead of the current 5 turns.

Mechanically, less focus is put on using the Wii U’s trademarked GamePad. Employing the Indigo Asteroid, Crimson Eagle, Orange Rocket, and Black Bomb Color Powers can now be done with traditional button and analog stick inputs.

Items will appear on the hub world for more clarity. Bugs are also taken care of with the removal of a graphical issue that would appear in the pinball stage of the Frozen Factory casino area.

Additionally, those who own and complete the Nightmare downloadable content (DLC) can access it again when they scored 100,000. Users will be notified of this to be sure.

^YES! It's amazing the difference getting an extra life with 100 rings makes..

I've been playing the 3DS version alot lately..I like this one better than the Wii U

Nintendo Direct told us about the Sonic Lost Worlds DLC. Including stages from Nintendo games. Three in total.

First one's already downloadable. Yoshi's Island.

Second one. Probably Zelda?

Sonic went so fast, he isn't even in his own franchise anymore.

Totally fine with this, makes me more motivated with this and the recent patch actually.

But yeah, like I said in the Direct topic, seems Sega is slowly making Sonic more of a Nintendo franchise haha.

The Yoshi one is so I'm assuming the next one will be too.

Sonic and Raven! :3
Well um... the Yoshi's Island DLC is interesting to say the least. I never thought that Yoshi would make a cameo appearance in a Sonic game. And yeah I am pretty sure the next level we'll be getting is a Legend of Zelda one, now that's an odd concept for a level. The Legend of Zelda is a completely different genre than Sonic, I'm honestly surprised that we haven't gotten a Mario themed level yet. :V

Just wondering, is the humor in this one like the humor in Colors? I loved Colors and all, but some of the dialogue was a bit cringe worthy. Though it doesn't really matter if it is or not, I'm still going to play it. cx

I would say the dialogue is on par with that in Colours, maybe a little worst at some points, but its still bearable.

. . .

I sort of feel though that the games aren't meant to be super witty - when Sonic started talking and everything I always felt that the dialogue was ridiculous, often imagine what it'd be like if Sonic and his pals were all silent and Robotnik was the only one spouting dialogue. At least we know not to take him seriously.

Got to play this game at my friend's house last week, it's ridiculously easy (on the Wii U) and the controls are marvellously responsive. Found the music forgettable and felt it was a bit... uninspired. Which is a let down but I don't expect much from the Sonic franchise these days.

I played the Yoshi's Island DLC, it was cute, but it's probably something I'll never replay again. You can get a decent amount of extra lives from it though, if you're still playing through the regular game that can be a big help.

Finally, the Sonic x Legend of Zelda fan fiction we always dreamed about. Coming for free tomorrow I think.

Is it just me, or is Sonic Lost World getting more and more Nintendo-like and less SEGA-like?
Be sure to check me out on Deviant Art to see some of my various drawings and artworks. http://hexidextrous.deviantart.com/

Also, I would like to ask a favor from for anyone who is my friend here.
If someday we meet in person in the near future, and I had recently done anything that would confirm that I had become a Brony (which as of now I am not one), such as if I had posted on a Pony-related fan-site, drawn a Pony-themed artwork, contributed to a Pony fanfic, or anything else along those lines. If I have done anything like that, I want you to punch me in the face without warning. This make sound like I'm joking, but I am absolutely serious about this. Ignore any future statements retracting this if I ever make any. Though if you do, please first confirm that it is me who is doing it, and not some Brony who is posing as me and wants to see me get punched. I do not wish to go down the path of the Bronies, and hopefully those of you reading this will help me so that it stays that way, if god forbid I ever even attempt it.
Thank you.

I know, I don't even play all those Nintendo games that everybody likes that are so big and popular and now they're messing up my Sonic games.

On another note, I still haven't beat Lost World. I'm still stuck on the sandy level, I guess it's just hard for me to get used to staring at a tiny screen because no Sonic game should be this difficult for anyone over 7 years old and I'm feeling kinda ashamed. However, I also haven't picked it up since like December, I'm sure if I played it as frequently as I played Animal Crossing (which isn't that often either btw) I would be done.
