I have to say my favorite level of all time is Ice Cap Zone, I love the snowboarding sequence in the beginning, and I love how you go from being in a winter wonderland to a cavern full of snow. The music is very catchy too, and after finally figuring out how to get past the stupid barrel from CNZ it's definitely a awesome reward.

I have the game on xbox now so I should play that level again sometime

Recently, I've been attempting a solid playthrough of Sonic '06 on Xbox 360, and I really like Kingdom Valley. The music really captures the mood of the level. In Sonic the Hedgehog 2, I'm particularly fond of Aquatic Ruin Zone and Hill Top Zone, because of their colors, layout, and music. In Sonic Adventure, I loved Twinkle Park (the music is so catchy!), and in Sonic Adventure 2, I really liked Cosmic Wall (because being able to float is quite a bit of fun!). I think it blends together really well, and had some neat ideas. I also liked Metal Harbor from SA2, although it is IMPOSSIBLE TO A RANK. But my favorite will always be Speed Highway. I just love all the cool set pieces such as running down the building, running on walls, etc.

Holoska and Spagonia in Sonic Unleashed on Xbox 360 also blew me away. Referring to the classics, I have a weird liking for Oil Ocean in Sonic The Hedgehog 2. Music's just cool and I dig the level design.

Sonic Crossroads 6 years ago, I began a fangame project called "Pure Shadow". I cancelled the project due to lack of time and other priorities. Now that I'm in college, and have loads of more time, I found the file and began to pick it up again. After refreshing my memory of all the coding put into the engine, I decided to use it to write a new project. Drawing out a new plot and new gimmicks for the project, I decided to rename this project called Sonic Crossroads. This project is going to be completed in Game Maker 8 PRO coded by myself and my friend who goes by the alias, MastaaFrederick. Because of our lack of experience in many aspects to increase enjoyability (such as music, artistry, animation, etc.), we want to develop a small team to work on this project. Anyone who is interested, please message me. On top of these things, we want to create a new antagonist for the story. We, MastaaFrederick and I, need a whole new character concept. We want the most creative fan character we can find, and create a sprite sheet for this character. We would like to find a character via messenger. Demo for the fangame coming soon.

Just have to practice!! When at the rocket bit, go ALL THE WAY TO THE TOP and then as soon as you are on the rocket, LET GO EARLY to board the tunnel to the goal!! There was one also in SA2 that was really difficult... It was Sonic's stage, took place in space, had a confusing colorful puzzle. Also had the whole anti-gravity gimmick to it. Well it wasn't that one, it was the one right after it I think. Involved a lot of rail grinding and sliding, really fast paced and very fun.

Hydrocity. Normally, I really hate water levels for being very slow-paced and sluggish to go through, but this is an example of how to do one right in a Sonic game.

Not impossible. Just hard. It all hinges on getting to the highest point of the rocket. Screw that up and you have to do it all again. It's hard to pick a favourite level out of the whole series. Especially without taking different styles into account. So I guess I'll pick a few from each major style: [2D] <Mystic Cave Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog 2> Really not that fun of a stage, but aesthetically its pretty unique in the series. Also it has one of my favourite tunes in the series so it's pretty much in by default. <Mushroom Hill Zone - Sonic the Hedgehog 3 & Knuckles> I was going to put one of Hydrocity or Flying Battery here, but when I thought about it this is probably my favourite stage in the game. The transitions through seasons are neat, the music is great and it's generally just a really fun stage. <Hot Crater Zone - Sonic Advance 2> That setting! Those gimmicks! That music! One of my favourite stages to date, hands down. [Dreamcast Era 3D] <Final Rush - Sonic Adventure 2> I used to hate this level, but eventually it grew to be one of my favourites. Challenging, has a really cool setting and a pretty decent song. <Digital Circuit/Mad Matrix - Shadow the Hedgehog> A really cool digital level theme (though admittedly one visited a few times in the Advance series) with really good music. Sums up both levels and why I like them pretty well. [Modern Era 3D] <Rooftop Run (Daytime) - Sonic Unleashed (PS3/360)> This along with Empire City were pretty much the only stages I really liked in Unleashed. Of the two, Rooftop Run is the only one I consider an all time favourite. Beautiful scenery combined with one of the catchiest tunes in the series to date. And it had some pretty dynamic sections too. S'good. <Sky Sanctuary - Sonic Generations> Oh man this level. What a way to bring an old classic into a new era. And one of my favourite remixes on the whole soundtrack. So very, very good. So that's pretty much how it is for my favourite stages. Probably forgot one or two, but eh.

You also reminded me how much I like this stage. Great level design, cool gimmicks freaking amazing music. If Hydrocity is my favorite stage in the Sonic 3 part of Sonic 3 & K, then Flying Battery is certainly my favorite in the Sonic and Knuckles part.
