How exactly does Magework come into the life of an entertainer? ŠP

Other than that, sounds good, Crusader. Looking forward to John Hatchet and his misadventures!

Magework - or more specifically, alchemy - is basically a new form of technology being employed by humans, although it is not currently in wide-spread use. It involves using specialised computers or devices that run programs written in a magical language - the Absolute Magical Lexicon - to cast spells. The devices are powered by mana batteries, as humans can't absorb mana without becoming sick; naturally, the batteries have to be well-insulated so as not to expose anyone to the energy inside.

In other words, think of it as the difference between nuclear power (alchemy) and coal power (standard technology); it's more expensive, complex and risky, but can achieve a lot more with the right application.

As for why an entertainer would use it, well, no performance cannot be made better with the use of special effects, and alchemy offers the best kinds of flashy showiness you can get~.

This is an adequate answer and I accept it completely.

Got more than I bargained for with that question. Still, and understanding of the world is always good~

PART 1

Space swallows sound. Not only is there no air in space with with to produce sound to begin with, but the acoustics are terrible, considering how big it is. For a musician such as yourself, it's about the worst place you could live. And yet, humans managed to create the colonies, contained environments that push back the void to let humans - and music - survive, even flourish.

"Music always finds a way". It's the line you use to open all of your shows, and also a personal motto of yours, words to live your life by. After all, if music can exist in a place where it has no physical right to be, then there's surely nothing it can't do... right?

So that's why you sing. The people of the Orbitals struggle with their day-to-day lives, fighting to keep their dilapidated colonies running while slaving away for the benefit of the so-called High Spaceborn. With the power of music, you can give those people morale and hope. Your battlefield isn't one of blades and laser fire; it's a battle fought with rhythm and passion against a villain called Despair.

This 'war' has led you to Colony Baldr, where you are scheduled to perform at the East Sector. Baldr East hosts the largest shipyard in the Orbitals, a hub for shipbuilders, merchants, travellers and - some say - even pirates and smugglers. It's not the most high-class performance you've ever signed up for, but it's the low-class folks who need your songs more than anyone else after all.

You've got half an hour until the show begins. After tossing up whether to get to the stage early and get some practice done or wander around the secctor for a while, you finally decide to...

(Note: Your options are not limited only to the choices presented unless the words FIXED CHOICE appear. In this instance, you could take a third option... or fourth... or fifth...)
