As this is a biggie for me, I'm making this a separate topic. If any mods or admins feel this is wrong, then please merge it with my main video topic. Thanks ![]() EASTER LIVESTREAM! Saturday 30th March, 7pm GMT(2pm Eastern, 1pm US Central, 12pm Mountain) for 4 hours of MoD-style madness. The whole purpose of this livestream is to officially begin the charity fundraising aspect of my Euro Truck Simulator 2 series, as I attempt the Million Mile Challenge - 1,000,000 miles in the same truck! The charity raising aspect is being split across 250k mile chunks, and for this first period I will be fundraising for PAPYRUS, a UK-based charity that raises awareness of teenage suicides, and dealing with the root causes of that - along with removing the stigma associated with these problems. I've got first-hand experience, both personal and with loved ones, about how depression can hurt people and those around them, PAPYRUS is something I believe can make a difference with dealing with depression and thus eliminating a root cause of suicides in young people. Not interested in the charity aspect? Not a problem, I'll still be running the Million Mile Challenge - and for this livestream, I'll be taking Matilda(my loyal truck) from Bratislava to Aberdeen in a Race Across Europe! The only rules are: 1. No repairing the truck en-route - if you do, it's game over. 2. No using service callouts. If you use them, it's game over. 3. If the truck hits 100% damage, yep - it's game over. 4a. You must be pulling a trailer at all times 4b. The only time you may drive without a trailer is when moving to pick up a new load 4c. You must find a job within the same city you left the last one in - no leaving Wien to travel to Liverpool for a new job, for example. If you delivered to Wien, you must depart with a new job from Wien, etc. I'll be recording both the real time and the game time taken to complete this, and then throw down the gauntlet for others to beat me! Come on down, enjoy the show. I'll bump this topic in a week's time and 30 minutes before the show starts to remind people to come on down! |

That looks a fun challenge, hope you succeed MoD! I've currently done 840,000 miles in my real life truck and i hope to take her to a million before the lorries get swapped about in the fleet :o) Love my Iveco, way better then the Scania i had for a year. Couldn't pull the skin off a rice pudding lol! What wagon will you be driving? Where in the UK are you, if local could always have a ride :o) Edited by Ellis, Mar 24 2013, 02:31 AM.

Ah, the gentleman formerly known as Speedy! I'll be driving my faithful Majestic(unlicenced Mercedes) without a load - in game terms, I haven't unlocked the really really long-distance jobs yet and is something I can certainly attempt on another date, but this time around it might add too much in the way of complications...Actually, what DOES everyone think about that? Should I attempt to travel while pulling a trailer, or just go balls out fast? And while I'm here, have a charity livestream announcement video: |

That's me :o) Hehe! Awwww you got to pull a trailer, without one its just a fun car lol! I just had a go on that game, maaaaan it's hard steering with buttons. Alot easier in the real thing ;o)Busmans holiday for me, and yeah ill be checking how you're getting on great idea! I'll try and video some of my journey for you see what it's like on our roads in the morning :o) Edit - The yellow diamond means you are on a priority road and it cancels out the give way to the right traffic rule http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Priority_to_the_right Although won't apply to you in a lorry, in Germany a white circle with 5 lines through it means end of speed limits! Not sure if they have them in the game, but if its mirroring real life, remember to look for the the overtaking ban signs for lorries on 2 lane sections of motorways in Germany, Belgium, Italy etc... It's that time... almost time to RACE ACROSS EUROPE! http://www.twitch.tv/mod1982 I start in 2 hours! Rules in the top post have been amended; the major addition being I've now got to be carrying a trailer at all times outside of a town/city. |

T'was an awesome little live stream. Nonsensical driving and trains abound. I'm happy for you that it was a success; I'm definitely gonna tune in next time. x3 |

The biggest thing I had to worry about, methinks, was keeping people entertained for the duration. I knew I'd let myself in for a hell of a challenge but wow, just wow. The happiest part for me was a happy chatroom, always nice to see happy people having fun and being entertained. So yes, roll on next time. I'll bump this in about 5 months with my next charity livestream; I'll keep normal ones to my usual topic. BUT THANK YOU ALL <3 That's a wrap for now! And this is only the beginning! Yes, it's nearly 4 hours long... but we did it! With the support of close friends, family and loved ones I managed to drag Matilda's broken chassis across Europe, and raised £35 towards a good cause in the process! This isn't the end though, no no no. We're now going to carry on with the fundraising, via the Euro Truck series as we strive to complete the Million Mile Challenge - 1,000,000 miles in the same truck. We're splitting the running up into 250k blocks and the first block is dedicated to PAPYRUS, a charity in the UK dedicated to preventing youth suicides and dealing with the reasons this comes about, namely depression. I will be uploading a 10.5 video to show the highlights of an epic journey, and will continue driving Matilda across Europe in an attempt to raise money. If I hit my season goal of £500(that is, before we hit 250k miles driven) then I will shave my hair off on a livestream event... and it's almost long enough to put into a ponytail, so I'm not taking this lightly. Want to see my hair fall off, while helping a good cause? Click on the link below and throw me a dollar or two, every little helps. Despite the fact it's showing in English pounds, the page accepts PayPal and thus all currencies And if you're a UK taxpayer, click YES on the Gift Aid box to give PAPYRUS a little extra for free!http://www.justgiving.com/mod1982 Edited by Master of Darkness™, Mar 30 2013, 07:41 PM.
