What if all Mobian males over the age of 12

What if all Mobian males over the age of 12; except for Sonic died due to a plague?

You'd lose a few of the older generations but life would continue as always by the time all the kids are old enough to have children of their own. I guess Sonic acts as male role-model for the boys for a while too.

That means out of the main cast, Sonic, Tails, Eggman and Charmy are the only males alive, right? What I don't understand, is why Sonic is not affected, he's over 12 and male, unless it's plot armour protecting him again.

Well, if Y The Last Man pointed anything out, the shift in gender roles would be massive. What was a patriarchal society becomes a matriarchal(or at least, finally equal, maybe). Amy, Rouge and other female chars would likely have to pick up the pieces and try to fill in roles usually attributed to males. I must say, I may want to take this idea for a story or something, it sounds like it make a fun little series. I do like Post Apocalyptic scenarios. Well, at least ones that isn't just Fallout.
