Name: Ryo Kunai Age: 28 Gender: Male Species: Human-Hedgehog hybrid Description:  Date of birth: 11/ 16/ 199X Place of birth: Nakatomi City Current residence: As of the moment, a small western village in the American West. Alignment: Good Occupation: Ranger/bounty hunter Bio: Ryo is the oldest of the two Kunai Bros. (Aaron Kunai II is the youngest) He was the first to graduate from college ( AKII graduated a year after Ryo), and after he graduated he found that no job in the world was right for him. And so he began a new kind of job hunt. His first ever bounty hunt was a fugitive that escaped a high security prison back in 21XX. Ryo caught up with him, and brought him back alive. This was what sparked him to become a bounty hunter. However, after doing this for a while, Ryo wanted something different. He decided to travel the world for a while, until he happened upon a dusty semi-ghost town in the middle of nowhere. He instantly fell in love with the place, and became a ranger, defending the town from bandits looking to take advantage of this once-populated town. Currently, he's using this occupation to make the town populated again. |

Why?
Who does that (and why)? -- I like the backstory well ^^ He's a one-time paid killer who, as he's growing into his middle age, finds that he's finally come to something in his life worth defending. What you need to do now, then, is to convince us, the reader, that this ghost town really is worth defending, and that it represents a real point of character growth and struggle for Ryo. Because right now, it's just the worst kind of fact-reciting exposition. How do you do this? With details! Use examples from Ryo's life--the tougher kinds of decisions he's faced--and explain the motivations behind the choices he ultimately made. Give his history some struggle. If you do that, it lends his character some drama and direction--and that's the kind of tension that gets readers invested. Then, give us details about the ghost town he's come to save and why he's out to save it. Make each of us want to save this town. That way, the town matters to us, and Ryo matters to us because the town matters to him. We'll want to see what happens next in this world you've built. Edited by Katsuko, Mar 5 2013, 10:54 AM.

well if I remember, one of Aaron's parents was a hedgehog so Ryo might've gotten some of the hedgehog side of Aaron's family... |

ok, ok...wait a minute here, everyone. This bio is still in "beta," if you will. I knew something like this was going to happen. I'm still in the process of adding more details to Ryo. and plus, It's been a while since i last done an FC (Last one i did was Aaron Kunai II, the youngest of the brothers), so my skills in detailing the character's life are a bit rusty. Let up just for a bit, will you guys? shish. |
