Nice contrast with the rest of the forum and the color is easy on the eyes. As for the banner, I think the blurred effect adds to the background, making it look almost like a painting, but not so much Sonic and the Wisps.

And the banner to Planet Wisp does look nicer.

On the plus side, I do like that nice little effect with the shadow.

It is covering the 'sign-out' button though, but this is still a marked improvement.
