My least favorite Sonic character? Slicer #231. He's just such a jerk! Always has to be rude to everyone, apparently. |

I'm whining out of personal preference, but you're right: from an objective point of view, Sonic's character is adequate to Sonic games.
On the other hand, it's possible to be funny and flippant and not quite so uninteresting. The Flash, Beast Boy, Cyborg, Spiderman, Naruto, LilAvii's Dakoter, Blizshadow's Claudio, and very own Edelin Tabby all fit within the "flippant hero" stereotype fine, and there are many others besides them. They just have some, well, humanity underneath their carefree attitude, which makes them more interesting (to me).
Nah, it's the mythos that individuates Sonic. He's the blue hedgehog, the fastest thing alive, who battles Dr. Ivo Robotnik for the mastery of Chaos Emeralds. Simplistic flippant heroes are a dime a dozen. Edited by Katsuko, Mar 4 2013, 05:54 PM.

Amy Rose. I don't know, I've just always found her personality and fangirly ways to be really annoying. Plus, her voice has always bugged me. That said, I adore her old school design. She was a lot less annoying, cuter looking and actually looked like a hedgehog. Shadow is another character I despise. Again, never been keen on his dark personality, to me it doesn't represent what the Sonic series is about (for me, at least). Although I will admit, I liked him in Sonic Adventure 2, although in my opinion he would have been better off left dead, they ruined him by making him return. |

I'm going to say Cream. I think the character has been badly managed and is nothing more than your token damsel in distress or cheerleader. I don't see how she can serve in any other way given her vulnerabilities without it look ridiculous. The Sonic X incarnation of her bothered me as well. I'm very tolerant when it comes to the Sonic X VAs, but the actress was very poor. I don't understand how her delivery of various lines, particularly in the Metarex season was allowed by the director. Her personality and skills were also inconsistent throughout the show. Just how did she learn how to become an expert pilot anyway? |
