Ok it's pretty simple..... Why did they put Sonic on the cover of Reck-it Ralph? I mean seriously he wasn't even in the movie. He appeared once on a video display board so how does that grant him to be on the cover?

Now I like Sonic alot but really, I don't think they should of put him on a cover he's barely in the movie. Though i would of loved to see him more in the movie but alas he wasn't :(.

So questions comments anyone?

Because Wreck-It Ralph is a movie about games and Sonic is one of the most iconic characters featured?

As far as cameos go, he got one of the bigger lines in the movie and he also appeared quite a few times in the central game station if I recall correctly. He was on a couple of the promo posters for the movie prior to its cinema release too, so I'm hardly surprised.

Also, I believe it could have a little something to do with the cross promotion between Disney and SEGA, since Ralph appeared in Sonic & All Stars Racing: Transformed.

That all said, it doesn't matter too much so I don't see a real reason to complain about it.

Not really complaining... but putting him on the cover makes people think he had a bigger role in the movie. But awe well... just wanted to see what others thought about it.

Agreeing with Ludi on this one. I believe Sonic made a total five to seven cameos in the movie if I remember correctly, and that's not including Eggman. They could have gave him another line or two but still seeing him was beyond awesome.

I think they might have used the most known characters in the world a few times, remeber it's about the made up games in the story not the ones in real life. That would have broken the copyright laws too, they could nly use Sonic as an extra not as the main. Extras don't apear much in movies. This explains why....

It's funny how they picked fun at Nintendo for Mario. They had to obtain all the copyrights to use the game characters, and Mario was the last copyright to obtain which delayed the movie. Of course it was denied. But I got a little chuckle when Felix said, "It's probably Mario. Fashionably late -don't remember full line-" at the party scene.

Which does remind me of something. Did I remember like some sonic game which featured Sonic, Ray, and I think Mighty as an Arcade game.... but did sega make any of the Main sonic titles or classic games a Arcade game?

Just curious because I thought that one with Sonic, Ray and Mighty was the only one. Or atleast I didn't think they made any of the actual classics a sonic game.

I may of missed it. If I ever get the DVD though(Which I will) ill likely stop and see how many cameos I can spot.

Also, yeah, Sonic does mention a plot point line after all.

You're going to see that banner and think OMG Sonic's in the film, therefore I must go see it! It's called Good Advertising, in the sense that it's getting people who don't know better into the cinema watching that film.

Luckily, as my name and avatar would suggest, it's a film worth watching even if the blue blur only has a brief cameo - so shaddap whining and enjoy the film for what it is.

Sonic had many appearances, and I guess Sega and Disney made a pretty big deal in terms of character usage. Wreck-It Ralph was in Sonic & Sega All-Stars Racing Transformed so it makes sense that Disney would return the favor.

Yeah, SEGA and Disney probably made a deal, something like "if you promote our character in Transformed, we'll put Sonic in the movie."

Probably also the reason why he has a line in the movie, whereas other cameos are mostly silent or barely say anything. Product placement was an important thing in the movie; they made puns like Nesquik Sand, stuff like that, I'm guessing they either paid a lot of money for it or made another deal with Nesquik.

I'm guessing it's also the reason Mario and Luigi aren't there. People thought they would be in the movie because they are one of the most iconic video game characters, but they aren't. Nintendo didn't want them to be there, so they let them have Bowser. Or they couldn't pay for it. Nintendo demanded a high amount of money, probably, and a fewer amount for Bowser.

Though I'm just guessing stuff, this is what most likely happened in my opinion.

Yeah, I just wanted to emphasize the fact that Sonic appeared several times in the movie (and I missed most of the times... With my bad luck I was looking at my phone or somewhere else on the screen every time he appeared XD). And he did have at least one line.

Also, Wreck-It Ralph is an awesome movie, and Sonic is not the only reason for that (even though he does help it be even more awesome!!!). And I'm glad he's on the cover of the movie so I have one more Sonic thing to decorate my room with when I go to buy the movie.

I am not complaining. And I never said I didn't like the film. I was simply noticing something that seemed odd and I was mentioning it. Normally, when someone appears on the cover they normally serve a important role in the film. I really like Reck it Ralph. So stop saying I'm complaining. but I believe I can see a little bit more why they did.

Also, makes me wonder with the Sega Disney promotions I wonder if maybe Disney might be getting to a point where they might make a Sonic movie. I could be reading to much into to it and it could only be the simple... "YOu put Reck it ralph in your game and We'll put Sonic in our movie."

But i wonder if Sonic would be in some instalment of Disney Infinte?

I actually agree with this.

I mean I know Sonic was in the film, but having him plastered on all the posters when he only had a couple of very short cameos, to me felt like false advertising. I was very disappointed and let down when I watched the film, I was hoping to see a lot more of Sonic, especially considering he was on the posters, etc.

Well, Sonic has a huge fanbase, so this was a good way to advertise. You attract the Sonic fans, get even more ticket sales.

And although he didn't do much, he still had one of the most important lines in the entire movie.

I do wish he was in the movie more, but oh well. Seeing my favourite video game hero on the big screen was good enough.
It all starts with this... A jewel containing the ultimate power!

Every world has its end. I know that's kinda sad, but... That's why we gotta live life to the fullest in the time we have. At least, that's what I figure.
