Oh dear, In a complete flip-flop by Sony it seems that restricting used games may still be a possibility.

"Well first of all, we haven’t stated that second-hand games… we haven’t made a statement on the second-hand games question," answered Gara. "There was a lot of reaction to a patent that was filed, which is a matter of course for a technology business like us, to file various patents at various times, many of which many never see any application but they are good to have depending on ideas that might be building."

"So what we’re here to do is offer the best value and the best gaming experience for gamers," he continued. "The answer to the pre-owned question isn’t clarified just yet and we’re working through that and we’ll announce our position in more detail as and when we can."

Eh I feel like he doesn't know so he is saying that. He's much lower on the chain, being only in one region, opposed to the president of worldwide studios which is in charge of all 1st party development and he said it does play used games. Sooo..... Oh and apparently EA is doing a live conference about the PS4, I wonder what games they have in store for it? Probably Fifa and Need For Speed, the usual for right now.
http://dualpixels.com/2013/02/26/ea-hosting-live-conference-today-about-ps4/

He did reveal some interesting info:
-PS4 is 10x the power of previous generations
-Time it took previously(months) during development will now take days
-1080p 60fps is definitely possible and a focus
-More seamless world fully imagined by the developers
-Cross platoform, cloud gaming
-85 games down to 15 core games during the current generation, allowing a smoother transition
-100 million delta of expenses
-5-10% increase in dev cost
-Battlefield 4 confirmed for PS4

10x the power of the previous generation? While it did look really nice, the graphics just didn't seem as big as a leap like PS2/Gamecube/Xbox to 360/PS3. Course, launch titles tend to not push the system to its very limits till later on in its life.

I still refuse to believe Sony or Microsoft will block used games. With Nintendo already allowing it, it just simply won't work if two companies block it while another allow it(And I especially don't think Sony will.).

Plus those games aren't finalized and still have time to be finished and they started using dev kits only using 4gb of ram while now they have 8. DriveClub looked impressive though, it blew away GT5 and GT5 looks great already.

Here are official hi res user interface screen shots. We saw a bit of this at the conference, what do you think? Personally I'm liking what I see, it's simple and a better design than the PS3 UI. It is kinda a lot like Facebook/social media sites. lol

New video highlighting the new functions of the controller. The light bar is pretty awesome! Because it uses the bar to track the location of the player, when you change your position during a split screen game it'll switch you over to the appropriate side of the screen. So we already know PS4 will come with a mic I don't see how it would come without the PS4 Eye(Eyetoy 3 if you wish) seeing as this is a big feature of the controller. I still want to know what the track pad will be used for though.

Yeah I saw that... I'm hoping the blue line at the end of the video is some sort of indication there will be an LED bar on the system and hopefully it changes colors along with the light bar on the DS4. Here's a website that took all of the frame be frame pics and broke it down. I gotta say they're doing pretty well at keeping the hype rolling before E3 and even in the light of the Xbox reveal. They were ahead of Xbox on twitter because of this, I read.

Being a Sony/Nintendo fan(As Ive mostly disowned Xbox), I can see myself getting a PS4...well...in the future. Right now I am hoping to get a Wii U eventually(Hopefully Nintendo will stay afloat by the time I do as I keep hearing nothing but bad news from them and latest decisions have made me questionable of its existance, but then again, Im sure this is nothing new for Nintendo), but the thing is I'm not really ready to part with the PS3 yet.

One, the system has many of the games I Bought from PSN, and I heard they would not allow for games from your PS3 system be transferred to the PS4(If you can still use your account to get them, then that works for me). I also haven't quite seen any games I'm interested in getting for the PS4 yet either(If anyone can point me to a video or something to their opening list of games I would appreciate it. Yes I live under a rock.)

Here's some interesting and very awesome news! The rumors were true and every PS4 game will be required to support remote play on the PS Vita. I'm glad they are making this mandatory for developers to include in their games!

They've dabbled with this feature on PS3(PS1 games can be played via remote play and so can a few select PS3 games including God of War 1&2 HD, and ICO/SOTC HD) but it wasn't built with that in mind so it consumed to much processing power to do for every game. I've actually used the feature and it is very cool to be able to play full fledged console games on your handheld anywhere there is wifi.

Quote:

So far when it comes to Remote Play between the PS4 and PS Vita, we found out on February 20th that it would happen, with the official PlayStation website stating that we can play our “favorite” PS4 games on the Vita.

Today, “a trusted PlayStation 4 developer source with a proven track record for accuracy” talked to Digital Foundry and said that Sony is asking for Remote Play through the PlayStation Vita on all PS4 games, except the ones that require the PS4 Eye.

On Twitter, Shuhei Yoshida (@yosp), President of Worldwide Studios, was sent “I’ve just read all PS4 games will use the Remote Play feature. Is this true? I think it’d be great for both PS4 and Vita.” Here’s his response, confirming the news:

Yes, it’s true unless the game requires specific hardware like the camera. It will be great to play PS4 games on PS Vita.

So, as long as the usage of hardware that doesn’t exist on the Vita is a requirement, you’ll be able to play all your PlayStation 4 games through the PlayStation Vita’s Remote Play.

What’s the first game you think you’ll try via Remote Play? Let us know in the comments below.

Don't tell me what I can or can't do!

When I was in my younger days, I was pretty anti-Sony in an unreasonable manner. But Sony has been building franchises that I have been wishing I could play, and I've been losing interest in the exclusives Microsoft and Nintendo have. So I think I'll be converting myself to Sony this generation and saving up for a PS4. I'm hoping they have some way of making some PS3 games playable on there (specifically the Uncharted series), like maybe putting it up in the store or something. I don't really care about anything else, except the price. XD If it can play games, I'm all for it.

I certainly hope Uncharted moves to PS4. Uncharted 4 would be boss! I'm currently playing through Golden Abyss for the PSVita and it's pretty good. It's amazing how good the graphics are for a handheld. It's up to par with the first and exceeds it in many ways. Not as good as the 2nd or 3rd though but still it was a launch title. I expect The Last of Us to have a sequel on PS4 at some point since Sony trademarked TLOU2 & 3.

I also really want a Ratchet & Clank PS4 that is as epic as the PS3 Future titles.

I was hoping for this!! So glad it's happening! Planetside 2 AND DC Universe Online are coming to PS4. I have PS2 on PC and it's awesome but my PC renders it only at barely PS3 standard graphics. It will be awesome on PS4, hopefully it's cross play because it will be hard to have 2000 players on a map for a launch game. It should because that MMO War Thunder will.

They released a short teaser video for E3. Also announcing that across PS4, PS3, and PS Vita they will be showing off 40 games in total! Looking forward to that!!

Latest rumors abuzzing...

Welp. Looks like I won't be getting this at launch if this is true. Seems the online might go the Xbox Live route too?
