Darkness. Nothing but pitch blackness was surrounding Lifio Waterson as he was led into the arena by a guide. With it being hard to see, it was quite unnerving. Quite unnerving? It was very unnerving. In fact, it was almost terrifying. There was no light, and if there even was any light it wasn't very clear. Through the darkness, who knew how big this arena was? It was impossible to find out, considering you could only vaguely see your hands in front of your own face. "We have reached the arena." His guide to the arena said. "Thank you." He said, before the guide walked off. "Well this was definitely unexpected." He thought. "Then again, expect the unexpected in places like this." Perhaps that was the point of the whole tournament, to fight and rely on only four of your senses available. In this case, it is without sight, making the fighters effectively blind. The cold darkness around Lifio felt threatening and unsafe, he just wanted the warm safety of sunlight, or even any form of light. |

“So, what can you tell me about the arena I’m going to be fighting in?” Blaire walked with a guide to the place where her first match of the tournament would be. The violet-furred husky was rather eager to get this started and learn who her first opponent would be. She hadn’t gotten a chance to find out who this Lifio Waterson could be – though by his name, she wondered if he could control water. The canine smirked at this prospect. For a power like that would prove to be rather advantageous to her with her cryokinesis. The guide chuckled. “Oh, I think you’ll prefer being surprised by this particular arena. You won’t expect it, that’s for sure!” Blaire tilted her head to one side, bewilderment crossing her visage. “Well, if you say so.” The two of them kept walking for a few short minutes. As they walked, Blaire couldn’t help but notice their surroundings become progressively darker. The canine assumed they had to pass through a tunnel in order to get to the arena. It certainly seemed reasonable enough. “Well, this is where I leave you.” “Wait, what?” Blaire looked around the area. She was in a completely pitch-dark room, with naught any disenable light source around. At least none that she could tell from her vantage point. The canine took a few steps back, skeptism flashing across her face as she turned to the guide – or, at least, where she thought he was. “Uh, are you sure this is where I’m supposed to fight?” “Positive, ma’am.” “You are going to turn the lights on, right?” “Nope,” came the guide’s reply, this time from the side of the husky. “Then, how are me and my opponent supposed to fight?” Blaire inquired, crossing her arms over her chest. The guide shrugged his shoulders. “You have other senses. I know for a fact dogs are supposed to have excellent hearing. Well, I’ll be on my way now. Good luck!” Blaire let out a deep sigh of frustration. The fading footsteps of the resonating behind her, the canine whispered to herself; “Yes, I’m certainly going to need some of that in this match….” The husky wondered if her opponent had arrived yet. She hadn’t heard any other voices in the room – speaking of which, how big was the room anyway? Was it large enough for her to move around freely? Was it a fairly narrow corridor? And what of obstacles? Were there any? She certainly hoped not, for she didn’t want anything to hinder her movement any more in this permeated darkness. She decided to call for her opponent. “Hello there!” Her words reverberated through the battlefield. Now all she could do was wait for a reply. |

Lifio's ears twitched as someone called out to him. It was hard to pinpoint where exactly from with the room echoing the sounds so many times. "Hello there!" a female voice echoed through the air. "Oh hello!" Lifio called in out into the air, his voice echoing through the air . "I'm assuming you must be Blaire. I'm Lifio and it's nice to meet you, even if we can't see each other." The fox turned around a few times, attempting to figure out where his opponent's voice came from, but to no avail. He gave a small sigh. There was no use trying to find out what came from where in the darkness. It was like a doing a maze blindfolded. Except it wasn't in a maze nor was he blindfolded. At least, he wasn't aware that he was. "I guess we should get this going as soon as possible so we can get back out into daylight and see again." He called out once more. "But before I forget, good luck and all! May the best one here win." "The question is, what to do now?" Lifio thought. "I have no way of telling where they are, then again they might no where I am either. This could be bothersome." The fox took a few quick cautious steps backwards, unsure of where he was going, it seemed the safest option, for now that is. |

Oh hello! I’m assuming you must be Blaire. The husky nodded, regardless of the fact that she knew, unless he happened to have night vision, Lifio couldn’t see her. “That’s me, Agent Blaire Fields of the Oakland Resistance Division.” I’m Lifio and it’s nice to meet you, even if we can’t see each other. Despite the circumstances, Blaire couldn’t help but laugh. “Yes indeed! So then…” The canine wanted to pull out her saber, but she was unable to grab the hilt with the lack of light. “Okay, were is that sword? I thought I put the scabbard on the left side of my belt; I always do. So where…ah, got-not, that’s my tail…Ah, here it is!” With the sharp hiss of steel emitting, the blade was wretched from its scabbard. The canine then felt around her left wrist for the buttons to switch on her Cryokinetic Bangle. Thankfully, that was only a simple two-button combination, which decreased the time she had to fumble around in the dark activating it. Now all she had to do was wait for things to take effect, for she had an idea to bypass the issue of being completely unable to see where her opponent was. It just came down to luck and quite literally being in the right place at the right time. Blaire took a few experimental steps forward, gently swinging her sword from side to side in order to feel around for any obstacles the arena may have. “Don’t feel anything right now. So far so good.” The husky addressed Lifio again, resuming from where she had left off before. “I do hope you are ready for a challenge! So bring it on!” With that, the canine broke into a slow jog forward, still swinging her saber from side to side. With luck, the blade would eventually connect with Lifio, before any of his attacks could hit her. Bangle Charge: 25% Edited by HollyYoshi, Feb 9 2013, 10:44 AM.

I do hope you are ready for a challenge! So bring it on! "A challenge, huh?" Lifio called out to Blaire. "Well, I'll give it my best shot!" Then came the sound of something he was expecting atleast, the steady beat of footsteps. Due to the fact they were echoing, he was unable to judge a distance how far his foe was or what direction she was coming from. "Just going to have to go with luck and hope for the best." He thought. "What to do, what to do..." The fox, unsure of what direction to go took a leap of faith dive to right, and intending to land into a forward roll and continue on. At least, that's what should have happened. However during the dive, something caught on his jacket, tearing part of the left side from chest down off completely, as well as scraping along the side of his torso. He yelped in agony as he landed and skidded across the ground on his stomach, with the painful force of friction quickly slowing him down. He lay down on the ground for about ten seconds, before forcing himself slowly up. "That hurt, a lot." He thought as he got up, tensing every now and again in the progress. "Does she have a sword or something to do that?" Eventually Lifio managed to get himself onto his feet. He moved his left index finger lightly along where the pain roughly was, tensing up as it touched the wound. While it had cut fur, and given a large scratch on his skin. Thankfully it hadn't been deep enough to draw blood, much to his relief. However the pain was still throbbing. That had been too close to comfort, far too close. "Gotta keep up the dodging for as long as you can, Lif." He told himself reassuringly between heavy breaths. "It's only a matter of time before a mistake happens in this darkness." The fox began to sidestep to his left, hoping to put some distance between himself and Blaire. For now, the further away he was definitely seemed like the safest option. ---- -Left Side injured. |

As Blaire jogged towards the other side of the stadium, sword swinging from side to side, she felt her sword snag onto something. She heard a loud rip followed by Lifio shouting in anguish and ending with the sound of him slamming into the rocky ground. The husky thrust a fist in the air, resisting the urge to let out a cry of victory. “Yes! Score one for Blaire Fie-” As she couldn’t see where she was going, the Mobian ended up tripping over her own feet when she tried to turn to the side. She yelped as she fell nose first towards the rocky terrazzo – acting quickly, Blaire placed her free hand against the ground and twisted her body into a forward roll. She landed in a crouched position. Her breath came in slow, deep inhales, and her heartbeat quickened as adrenaline flowed through her veins at a slowly decreasing pace. “Okay Blaire, you need to tread carefully here. Take it slow and steady and don’t rush into anything.” The husky gradually turned her head from side to side, her ears swiveling around like a satellite trying to find a signal. And that signal was the sound of her opponent’s voice. Not that he was uttering a word right then, plus with the way sounds echoed in this ring, it would still make it difficult for her to pinpoint Lifio’s location. “But hey,” she mused with a smirk, starting to advance forward again. “That doesn’t mean I can’t at least try.” Bangle Charge: 50% |

Lifio stopped sidestepping. He had hoped that he had at least put some distance between himself and Blaire. However, for all he knew, he could be heading directly towards her, after losing all sense of direction in the darkness, it was impossible to tell where he was. "What should I do?" He whispered to himself. "I know I can't keep dodging forever, but at the same time, I can't go head on and attack. Its almost suicidal. Perhaps I can stun her though. Where's my water bottle...?" The fox reaches for his water bottle, unable to see in the dark, he feels for it, and even after three or four attempts he had not found it. If his face was visible, his face of clear panic and horror would be easily seen. "Where is it?" He thought, already worrying "Could it have fallen off when I fell?" Panic struck like a lightning bolt began to flow through the vulpine's body, without that water bottle, he was essentially powerless with no chance of winning. Unable to create water himself, Lifio relied on the transparent liquid to manipulate, in fact it was his only real form of attacking. The water bottle was likely where Lifio had fallen, however, there was one problem. That meant back tracking, to where he fell, which he had no idea where that was. He slowly began to sidestep slowly to the right, hoping that he was tracking his steps back wards. If he was lucky, he might be able to find it before Blaire found him once more. ---- -Left Side Injured -Water Bottle Missing |

“Come out, come out, wherever you are.” Blaire continued traversing through the inky blackness that swathed the arena, like a spelunker through a cavern. She slowly moved her sword from side to side, feeling around for any type of body – animated or not. The purple-furred Mobian turned off to the left, trying use her keen hearing to locate just here her opponent is. “Now, if I was my opponent, where would I be?” Blaire frowned. “Well, nothing absolutely nothing about him beforehand is going to make even such simple guesswork as that difficult to figure out. Heck, I don’t even know what species my opponent is!” The dog considered how Lifio had yet to attack her. She hadn’t heard the reverberation of footsteps pounding against the rocky floor in a deliberate effort to get a strike against her. As well, unless he was able to see in the dark – and there was nothing to suggest he could from what little information Blaire could go on – sneak attacks were unlikely. No, perhaps her opponent was the kind of person who liked to take things cautiously, not launching attacks with reckless abandon. However, while Blaire could certainly respect that, maybe he was too cautious. Maybe he was the kind of guy that would prefer to hide than meet his opponent head on. Although, there really wasn’t anywhere to hide in this stadium. Except for, of course, the arena itself. And the corners of it. Blaire’s eyes widened in realization and a small gasp escaped her. The corners. Lifio could have been hiding in one of them, thinking it could have been a safe place for him to hunker down and figure out a plan of action. Blaire smirked. “Well, it won’t be so good for long.” The canine immediately altered course and headed to where she believed the nearest corner to be – and where she hoped to find her unsuspecting rival. Suddenly the fox tripped over something and crashed down to the ground once more, creating a lot of noise. Lifio let out a cry of pain as he unexpectedly fell over. His right leg was on top of something round. Slowly sitting up, he blindly felt around for it and after a few attempts,he eventually managed to find the object. It turned out it was his water bottle and he picked it up with his right hand. The strap had been slashed when his jacket had torn and his body scratched, it looked like he was going to have to hold it for the remainder of the fight. The vulpine had been evasive., However, now he could go on the offensive somewhat with his key to his powers back in his possession once more but, he was going to have to do that much sooner than he thought, as that is when nearby he heard. "Come out, come out, wherever you are." Blaire sounded close, really close. It was only a matter of time before she found him once more. Standing up and attempting to back off, he found himself trapped in a corner. Now he really was trapped and cornered. "What should I do?" He whispered to himslef as panic began to settle in his body. "Here's hoping this works..." Lifio with the bottle in his right hand, unscrewed the lid and put his left hand on top, tipped it upside down with a water now pouring slowly out onto his hand. When he thought there was enough he put it upright once more and screwed the lid back on. He realised that he couldn't use his powers often otherwise he would just tire, but he could at least attack once just now. The water that was on his hand began to flow and formed a blade like structure around it. Slowly the water blade began to solidify into ice. With this, he could hopefully put up a little bit of a fight temporarily. Now he just had to hope that his attack could charge up before Blaire got to him first. ----- -Left Side Injured -Water in Water Bottle left: 900ml. -Frost Blade; Charging. |

Blaire whirled around at the sound of Lifio colliding with the floor and the yelp of pain he emitted. While the way noises echoed in this particular stadium did make it difficult to really get a good sense of where her challenger was, this time the husky was able to hear a slight discrepancy among the resonances. And that was just enough for her to get a good inkling on where Lifio might have been. The canine decided then and there it would be best not to betray her presence by simply charging forward. At least, not quite yet. While the dog knew that a full on sneak-attack would be very difficult to pull off, the sound her footsteps caused by rushing headlong into the attack might alert Lifio to her, and thus allow him to try and put up a defense. He might also go on the offensive, and without knowing what he was capable of, Blaire had to be extra careful. Therefore, her plan involved getting gradually closer to him, keeping as quiet as possible and listening for any change in his whereabouts. Then, when she felt she was close enough, would she go right into the attack. While this would clue Lifio in on her presence, with luck he would be surprised long enough to allow Blaire a chance to strike before her foe could get a move in edgewise. “Okay, I’m ready.. The Mobian took long, but discreet strides. She breathed slow and steadily with her steps, as she had been taught to do for sneaking around, way back when she was still a trainee for the Oakland Resistance Division. She smiled at the memories. Who would have thought that she would become one of the Division’s top agents, highly skilled at what she best? However, this was not the time to reflect on days past, for Blaire had to focus intently on the present. The husky took a few more steps and tightened her grip on the hilt of her saber. “On the count of three,” she mentally coached herself. “I’ll go in for the attack. One, two, three!” Blaire broke into a steady jog, trench coat billowing about behind her. Her footsteps stamped against the ground as she increased her pace. If there was light, Lifio might have been able to see the wide smile that materialized on her lavender-furred muzzle. Giving a cry, she swung her saber with great gusto. “Take this, Lifio!” Bangle Charge: 100% |

At last the ice blade had completely frozen into ice and now Lifio could attack. Now he just had to find Blai- "Take this, Lifio!" He suddenly heard his foe cry out from nowhere. It was too late. Slash! The ice that had just been newly formed shattered into millions of shards and scattered everywhere. Lifio's chest was also cut in the process, the with Blaire's blade tearing though his bandanna and scratching across his skin, unawaringly some blood began to trickle down his fur. Lifio couldn't help but cry out in agony and slumped down, with his eyes close to tears with the pain. He began to panic. How long could he keep taking hits? With both his left side and chest injured how long can he keep dodging as well? The pain was starting to add up alarmingly quickly. He already felt drained after using his powers. It was only a matter of time before he was exhausted. Forcing himself to get back up even if he was weak on his legs now, the vulpine unscrewed the lid of his water bottle once more and again poured water into his left hand, this time however the water just surrounded his hand, he clenched it into a fist "It's... not... over... yet..." He said between heavy breaths. "I can... still fight..." The fox did a three hundred and sixty degree turn and with all the strength he could muster at that point and charged with a fist full of water where he thought Blaire was, hoping that he could connect an attack, even if it was a weak one. --- -Left Side Injured; Scratched -Chest injured; Bleeding -Water in Water Bottle left: 850ml. |

Bangle completely charged. Effect will now activate. As Blaire swung her saber, she felt the blade cut skin and fur – she had found her target. However, the sword had found something else as well, something she was not at all expecting. The canine felt her saber cut through something hard and smooth. However, it was not a clean cut. For due to the speed in which she had swung her weapon, whatever it was shattered into countless pieces, flying in every which direction. Shouts of pain came from Blaire’s mouth as several razor sharp shards pierced the flesh of several parts of her body, chest, legs, arms; even the edge of an ear was grazed by a piece. The canine backed up a few feet, blood pounding in her ears and her heart racing. She pressed a gloved hand against her neck where she felt something embedded in the skin. Blood trickled down in-between her fingers. The object had a smooth texture to it, almost like glass. However, there was something else about it, something very familiar to the husky. It felt somewhat moist, as if it was… Ice. Blaire’s eyes widened when she realized this. Ice. He could use ice powers just like her. And from what she could tell, his didn’t even depend on the temperature of the air around him to work. On the subject of the temperature, from the sudden drop in it, the husky could tell her Cryokinetic Bangle had activated and now she could use her powers for a short period of time. All she needed now was the right moment to strike. It’s… not… over… yet… I can…still fight… “Yes,” Blaire thought, trying to block out the pain all the ice shards in her body caused her. “But for how long?” The canine could tell that her attack had done a fair amount of damage. A few more hits might be enough to defeat him. Wham! The dog did not except it. Somewhat distracted by her pain, she was not paying much attention to what was going on around her. Therefore, she was unable to dodge the punch that connected with her stomach. As she fell to the ground, she could feel some of the water that had surrounded Lifio’s fist slowly dripping down her stomach. Blaire hit the cold, rocky surface that made up the arena ground with a thud. With her head throbbing, the husky slowly rolled over and tried to get up. But when she raised her head…she saw it. It had come on so suddenly that the Mobian had no time to reflect on the fact that she could actually see something right now. For she had more important things to worry about. More specifically, the stream of fire that was coming right at her. Blaire jerked her body to the side. However, while she was able to avoid the brunt of the flames and avoid getting completely engulfed in them, she was unable to fully evade them. Searing, white-hot pain erupted from her entire right arm and a small part of her side. The husky rolled to her left and lay there, tears of agony running down her face and the heat of the flames still against her. “Fire. Why did they have to have fire? Oh dear it burns! Lifio didn't even expect his attack to hit, yet it did. He didn't expect he had that much strength in him, as he heard Blaire fall to the ground. The punch felt like it had drained significant amount of energy though, he was starting to tire. Suddenly, the fox realised something important; he could see. He could actually see! He rubbed his eyes to adjust to the brightness of the new found light, only to see a purple furred husky get hit by fire as she rolled. Lifio stood in shock with his eyes wide with horror. He had set his opponent on fire, Somehow he had managed to set his foe on fire and burn them. "Fire. Why did they have to have fire? Oh dear it burns! My goodness does it burn!" "Oh my gosh, what have I done!?" Was the first thing he managed to say, feeling incredibly guilty and concerned about his foe. The vulpine bent down to pick up his water bottle, as he had dropped it in shock, and while looking down that noticed with the new found light that part of his chest fur was an entirely different colour than what it's normal sandy yellow; blood red. Light-headedness immediately kicked in, his stomach churning and making him feel sick. Dizziness soon took effect and the whole room was spinning for the fox, it was only a matter of time before his face met with the floor. Panic began to flow through him once more, not only was he injured, he was bleeding. No wonder he was so tired, he was losing blood, while he didn't know how quickly he was losing blood, if it had became that spread out that fast, how long was he going to last now? ---- -Left side injured -Chest injured and bleeding -Close to exhaustion or fainting due to squeamishness -Water left; 850ml. |

Blaire lay there in agony, her breath mixed in with the crackling fire besides her. Stoically boring the burning pain as best she could with teeth tightly gritted, the canine rolled to her right and back again in order to put the fire out. Once she saw that the flames were gone, she rolled over to her stomach. That done, she switched her sword to her left arm and used it to help prop herself to her feet. The husky let out a yelp of pain as she carefully grabbed her side to brace herself better. Slumped over, holding tightly onto the hilt of her saber, she caught a glance at her injury. The fur all along her arm and part of her side was blackened and small patches had even burn burned clean off. Blaire winced at the sight, turning her head clear away. “Though, on the plus side, the ice shards in that area have been melted down to nothing from the heat. But still, fire? Why? Just why?” The Mobian wiped blood-mingled sweat from her brow. She looked over at her opponent, who was not looking too good himself. Lifio seemed like he was about to fall over, with blood dripping from his wounds, wounds Blaire herself had caused. This Blaire had obviously expected; no surprise there. What did shock the husky though, was the fact that her foe, a chocolate-furred fox, seemed to be rather young. He looked to be at least five years her junior, not that it really mattered. Age didn’t always equal skill of course, so she wasn’t going to judge him for it. Besides, she did always have respect for her fellow ice-users. And as she used her own cryokinesis to form a pair of ice shards in her hand, the canine gazed levelly at the vulpine, a faint grin on her face. “So we finally get to see each other’s faces, Lifio.” Her eyes widened as searing pain came to her arm. “Yow! Darn it burns so bad!” Her body trembling, Blaire continued. “I must say, I expected someone a bit older. But,” She winced as another bout of pain shot through her, this time from a couple ice shards stuck in her cheek. “As long as you put up a decent fight, that doesn’t really matter.” She took a shaky step forward. Blood ran down her body and splattered against the rocky floor. “However, while I will not deny that you’ve done a nice job so far, there can only be one winner here. And that winner…” The husky drew back her arm and flung the shards straight at the fox. “…Is going to be me!” Bangle Charge: 75% Several shards of ice in body Right arm and side burned[/i |

Lifio stood and listened to Blaire, as she talked. It was only fair, besides he barely had much energy to do anything, plus the fact if he charged straight forward recklessly, his squeamishness would only cause him to faint. "So we finally get to see each other's faces, Lifio." "Yup, I guess I can say it's nice to meet you now." Lifio said, smiling, barely struggling to stand, and barely able to keep himself concentrated on his foe through his dizziness. "However, while I will not deny that you've done a nice job so far, there can only be one winner here. And that winner… …Is going to be me!" "Aaah!" the fox cried out in surprise as Blaire flung out shards or ice as she swung her arm. What surprised him though, was that Blaire was using something that he could also use. Ice. It was strange that they would put two people with the same powers against each other. At least he could see to dodge them though. The vulpine with what little strength he had left tried to dodge by strafing to the right. However, it was too late. The shards impacted on the fox , one piercing in his ear and the other in his left arm, with a strong force, sending him flying backwards, and he slid to the ground on his right side for about a meter when he landed. When he stopped sliding, he forced himself into a press up like position and tried to get back up onto his feet, his arms shaking as he forced himself to keep fighting. "I guess you're right that..." Lifio said, starting to accept defeat from his foe. "...You are the winner. Congratula-" The vulpine's arms suddenly gave way and the rest of his body fell to the floor. His vision was fading as he began to drift unconscious. |
